I really must apologise as a Brit, for only recently discovering Fates Warning for myself. As someone who grew up during the new wave of British heavy metal boom, missing out on a band like this for so long is a crime. This band really should have a much higher profile than they do.
No Exit for me is my favorite, absolute masterpiece! Love the technical, thrashy riffs and the amazing vocals of Alder. Their discog is very solid throughout, nothing bad in there at all.
I still remember the original add for Night on Brocken I saw in Circus magazine back in the day. Queensryche meets Iron Maiden in this molten metal classic! I was hooked before I even heard the first note LOL! They are the Godfathers of Prog Metal! Rush may have been the first seeds of the genre but, it was ripened on Fates Warning's vine! As I am wont to do, I have prepared my list before I view the video to avoid being swayed by Pete's analysis. Bear in mind, I love all of these albums. These guys have never made a bad album.
This marks the first time our lists match up. It'll always be Awaken the Guardian for me. It was my first album and exposure to them, too. Great music for a Saturday afternoon. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Just wanted to say that I recently came across your channel, and I love it. Your adult, mature approach towards the genre and specific tastes is a breath of fresh air. Great rankings, great bands, and now I am going in on the deep dive on the rest of your videos. Thanks.
There was a period of my life for about "5" years when I bet I listened to "Parallels" at least once a week, it was one of those albums for me that will be with me forever
This channel has deservedly shot up rapidly, congratulations
I listen to Fates Warning often, they're in my top 5 favorites, they're very good live.
It would be cool to see a savatage episode since we’re on the topic of US speed/progressive metal🤘
Every time I watch the show I end up buying new CDs...
Ray Alder’s recent solo album is also amazing.
Fates Warning is so underrated. Such a great band. Also, I finally decided to sub. Really enjoying your rankings, top 10s, etc.
Used to play with Jim Matheos when we were twenty-something! Good times. Wish I had the recordings!

1) No Exit 2) Parallels 3) Perfect Symmetry 4) Inside Out
No way Disconnected should be ranked that low, Still Remains, So, One, and the keyboard work is amazing

Just saw Fates Warning open for Queensryche 3/9/19. Irving Plaza NYC. Both singers and groups were tremendous.
I agree with you. Thank you for mentioning Fates Warning and your ranking them! 🎤🎸🎵🥁
Like the last few bands you've done, I like the whole catalog. Not a bad one in the bunch.
"Theories of Flight" was one of my favourite Heavy Metal Albums from 2016.
Haven't gotten around to listening to a lot of their stuff but I love The Spectre Within, Awaken the Guardian and No Exit
