LYRICS
Can't feel the pain that I expected
I still place keys in the ignition
I know what will be
One thought is stopping me from sleeping
I saw the future and it's breeding
I know what will be
Could be your last resort
Like gold against your soul
There are three things that I would die for
But I am sure you're not one of them
I know what will be
Could be your last resort
Like gold against your soul
You think you've got it all wrapped up now
You stumble on so unsuspecting
I know what will be)
I hold your birth control to ransom
The cells divide and grow inside you
I know what will be
I know what will be
I know what will be
Bonnie the cat had many a story to tell.
But it was a rare occasion such as this that she did
Underrated comment
Tommy the Cat is my name...and I say unto Thee...(Beautiful & funny reference)
Say baby
Primus SUCKS.
Isn't Bonnie the famous Robber? Bonnie and Clyde?
Awesome tune based around Gavin's brilliant drumming. LOVE IT!
Man it must feel good to know you have one of the best drummers ever playing for your band. Like having the most reliable employee ever you never have to worry about.
I had only heard Time Flies before this, and wow...this song is just something else. I'm a Porcupine Tree fan now
Porcupine Tree, the greatest band you've never heard of.
Best Drums you'll ever hear on any form of music!!!
One of the best songs ever written.
why does it seem like every time i get on youtube, i find a porcupine tree music video i had no idea even exsisted? they are my favorite band for crying out loud...
Tool influenced video + Porcupine Tree Song = Eargasm
Gavin simply a gods special product, it's unbelievable stuff that no can't even imagine.
My brain gets all sweaty when I listen to the drums.
The most crazy rythm..........in 4/4!!
Song is great, and as usual Gavin's drumming is just fucking incredible ! Without a doubt the best drummer !
The best song of "The incident". Amazing vídeo!!..
Excellent soundtrak , each instrument harmonizes with the rest. Pure harmony, perfekt cooperation - form a whole. As in the orchestra, there is no more important and the less important because every detail (musicians, instruments, vocals) form unified the final effect - you just have to know how to listen... I personally think that the albums, songs PT and S.W. They are excellent, inspiring, important, needed, just fucking cool...
Best Valentines Day song, ever! 😆
fantastic! The ideal of perfect band is here in front of your eyes
I literally sent this to the drummer in the band I was in 20 years ago, that I haven't talked to for 12 years and have only caught up with a month ago cause this is fricken ridiculously tasty. I'm the bass player and OMFG I want to play this live!
As a fellow bassist I definitely agree that the basslines sound really fun to play
Guitarist here,i want to play Richards Synths here so bad... brought his inner Japan
Literally ?
amazing song and drums too
Still can't nail the time signature on this.
4/4 believe it or not
When the drummer writes the song 😂 Gavin Harrison your the man!!
Great song! Those drums and the bass, man!
The Grand Conjuration at 3:48.
yes!
Glad you said that. I know a little bit of Opeth, but i'm friends with an Opeth superfan. This song (The CG) came on, and i said "oh, that's like Bonnie the Cat" to myself. Later i tried to bring up that some Opeth and PT riff was very similar, and he didnt know what i was talking about.
@@nicolemarieb.7044 but didn't the Opeth TGC come out before Bonnie the cat?
@@VictorDodon yes, TGC came out in 2005 and this was released in 2009. Besides, Mikael and Steven are kinda best friends so it's pretty obvious it's an Opeth reference.
EXACTLY!!!
Roadrunner Records showed us why they were named like "roadrunner" by making this song faster.
Yeah this is trippin me up
Nice video, been a fan four 2 years glad to listen them online.they deliver good music
A little step away from classic Porcupine Tree songs. Well done.
Amazing video for an out-of-this-world song.
Great music, great video.
the video is also amazing ,reminds Tool !
just learned this drum beat. One of my favorite jams :D
The bass line of this song allways remember me of the Knight Rider theme song.
😂
Its quite obvious. WIlson's musical genius is best complemented by Gavin's beautiful drumming.
Actually, Gavin's musical genius is complemented by wilson's beautiful singing
I agree but do you have to mention all these? This is why we will never ever see it happening again. 🤣 SW can't and won't accept another name to be mentioned along his... That's the reason to see his solo line up evolving to less superior on each album.
@@AntiOrumcek New PT album this year with Gavin and Richard 😉
And by Richard Barbieri's keyboards
Nah, Gavin's great but Maitland is the best PT drummer for me.
01:00 That strip of metal over the eyes must come in handy with detail work.
Nice one, Asimov.
This song just makes you think about time...What if I told you it was entirely in 4/4? Hard to believe, right?
incredible track!
There's only one other band with these skills: Atomship, the album is called The Crash of '47. Pure art, just like these guys...
OSI is another band with skills. Gavin Harrison drums on two of their albums, and Steven Wilson sings in the song Shutdown.
Not really... I mean it sounds a bit odd in the beginning, but once you wrap your ears around it, it's actually quite easy to hear that it's in 4/4 time. Awesome song, anyway

This is amazing
Legend has it that Gavin Harrison made a deal with the devil once. Nobody knows what Gavin got, but the devil got drumlessons.
That is the best drum comment ever))
Reliving my love of Porcupine Tree and Gavin Harrison
equally awesome! band none the less, glad to see some Les fans in here too!
saw this video during live performance, pretty intense that was.
I liked PT at this time but I don't remember them being THIS good. woah.
My heart aching, my brain melting...
It's not a bad thing that this video is similar to a Tool video. In fact, the world needs more videos like this. It's much more engrossing and you get enveloped in the vibe of the music.
This song is totally badass, by the way. Amazing drum rhythm and the arabian scale bit is icing on the cake.
my first Porcupine Tree song.
that drum
danm
3:07 love that bass riff!
I really like this song. And this vid was kinda kewwwl. I was hoping they'd post it after I saw it at Radio City.
PT gets all TOOLed up.
Fuck yeah!
Piyush Stoicist I believe he is comparing Portnoy with Gavin, not the video. Which is spot on.
Akshay Sinha: You might have it a bit mixed up there; Mike Portnoy is Dream Theater's drummer, Danny Carey is Tool's drummer. But yeah, Gavin is incredible and so is Danny. And so are their respective bands of course.
@@piyusha1234 Clearly you haven't seen Tool's music videos at the time.
Sure, sure... 03:49 - 04:23 is total and utter genius, I was on the edge of my seat, what a BIT though!
*_EUNGH! EUNGH! EUNGH! EUNGH! EUNGH! EUNGH! EUNGH! EUNGH! EUNGH! EUNGH! EUNGH! EUNGH! EUNGH! EUNGH! EUNGH!_*
That's prog right there folks.
Here's a thought.. Porcupine Tree, Opeth and Dream Theater are all on Roadrunner at the moment. They need to put together a tour with those 3 bands. That would be progressive. Not to mention amazing.
Dream Theater sounds like Weaponized TurboMech Nerds practising scales, and don't even mention that fat ginger canuck with the fucked pipes, ARGH they're UTTER FUCKING DRECK.
I like this cause it resembles Karnivool somehow! My other fav is Circle of Manias cause it's so djenty :D And the joker is Time flies. That is so calming and nice.
If I ever made a movie or video game this song would be the music for the end credits.
The best part part is it's all in 4/4
when I watched the tutorial my jaw fell off. British Sorcery
Why is that the best part?
Oh, I get it: you're doing that gormless thing where you want to bring attention to something trivial, so you preface it with _"the best part is"_ despite it not being remotely the best in any way shape or form...okay look, just fuckin' forget it, okay _"Lee?"_ I've got bigger fish to...buy.
Love, Mum
PS: You killed your father. I mean my father. Both.
Oh my God, Lee...how do we have the same....EWWWWWWWWW?! That's *_disgusting!_* Oh thank GOD you killed them! I mean him.
Sound Gardener no dumbass if you understood anything about music, you would realize that this beat and song sounds nothing like 4/4 time but somehow still is, that is why it’s awesome
i got that referece
No, it's 7/8 and 9/8 alternating. That's a big difference from straight up 4/4.
total new era of music
Set down the crack pipe, Bono or Dave Grohl will be along shortly to gush utter nonsense about bands with you.
It's incredible!
It's incredible that it's a 4/4 (!)
nice one gavin god damn!
Gavin ur a gods special product, thanks gav
This band, I think, is a cross between Tool, Shpongle, and Pink Floyd. Tasty.
three bands that i all love so much, shpongle deserves more recognition
Yes, Shpongle is just so "tasty" to the ears
Never heard of Shpongle before. I should give it a try. Btw, Tool and Pink Floyd are finest!
Shpongle is some crazy shit, it'll REALLY make you spiral out, ha.
Walden Beaudet Fun Little Fact, Steven Never Really Liked Tool! he LOVED Pink Floyd, Beach Boys, Crosby Stills and Nash, Iron Maddin and Metallica. I know this stuff because I dug my face into researching this stuff
This video remind me some TOOL videos...stop-motion rulez! Great song and Great video!
Came to say this song still hits in 2020
2021 🤘
@ortbitalreverb Completamente de acuerdo con usted sr , comenze a ver el video y pense en vicarious .
dude, thanks for introducing me to primus. really, thanks!
There are 3 things i would die for, but I am sure you are not one among them !!!! OMFG.. extreme hatred in one line ! Long live Steven Wilson :D
Non ho ancora ascoltato niente e già mi assillate con la pubblicità,
I believe it is sped up because the video is really made to be a companion to their live shows, but I remember seeing this video else where, and it wasn't faster. And I don't remember the Radio City being at this tempo. In fact, I know it wasn't. It could be youtube
Speed has been augmented.
@PennyDreadful1 Yeah I get what you're saying, and that's cool. Not everyone's brain resonates on the same level, or perceives the same thing in the music they listen to. Some songs I get tired of while I'm driving in a car, but if I chill out and listen in headphones I think it's amazing, there are many factors to listening to music.
Theres probably some other songs by them you'd like, a lot of their stuff is quite accessible.
Love this video kind of reminds me of Tools videos XD
i want this band on Argentina!!
i love how wierd wilson and crew are....it makes me smile.
@Calabrone92 yeah this guy is right. the time sig despite despite being in 4.4 is so complex, gavin harrison is a boss.
Cheers!
This sounds a lot faster than how it is on the album. The album version is much better!
Anybody else noticed the similarity between the riff at 3:50 and the solo riff of Opeth's The Grand Conjuration?
One of the most Pluto songs I've ever come across.
👍muy buena música👍
That's bass!!!
Amen bro...
@TheAthesis No it was Lasse Hoile (an institution), check him out here in youtube
There's also a nice little polyrythm at 3:49 - 4:23 that's so much fun to play...
exactly!
@Kapper2310 It is. It's slightly shifted & sped up.
Gavin Harrison is currently the best drummer on this planet..............Hands down
Ever heard of Mario Duplantier or Thomas Hakee
reminds me of Tim Burton's Number 9
Very steampunk
Okay, this has been bothering me but I swear the bridge sounds exactly like the chorus from The Grand Conjuration by Opeth
I'm pretty sure it's a hidden love letter from Steven to Mikael. ;-)
@@Opranius It wouldn't surprise me X-D
faster than normal?
drummerxx1 i thought so, the guitar center session with gavin it was a bit slower
drummerxx1 And the pitch sounds higher than the original.
+drummerxx1 yeah, it's because that way is less video lenght... comercial business...
Or they changed the speed to dodge UA-cam's system that catches copyright stuff by reading the audio in the video and comparing it to the record. A slight change in speed will desync it from the record
But it's uploaded by their company... Anyway. I don't know why they did it, but I want to hear it the way the band intended!
I don't know how the hell it took me 10 plus years to find out this even existed, but here I am and there ya go... It seems kinda not PT-like? Something about it just strikes me odd but I'm not sure why.
it's no coincidence that Schism by Tool has shown up in the recommendations for this video
Hey Roadrunner Records. You should probably reupload this and fix the audio.
To play drums like that is extremely difficult
The progression of a great band. Unique.
The Tool of Europe.
Peace
Ah sí... Yo tambien vi la película y leí el libro "El Perfume" :D
I dunno if anyone mentioned this, but it sounds like its about a half step, or even a quarter step sharp from the record. UA-cam encoding?
@KoreyKu I like Fear of a Blank Planet :( I get what you're saying, but I kind of feel like KoreyKu has a point in that this song and some of more recent Porcupine Tree has taken a turn (I think for the better, in that I'm not a fan of bands recycling old music) to focus on a more complicated metal (probably Opeth inspired) aspect. When I heard songs on The Incident like Circle of Manias and Octane Twisted, I jizzed my pants. PT remains the epitome of everything I like about music.
@bnanacheese2 ahaha is the first problem for everyone...but..the song is in 4\4...:) it's a rhythmic illusion of the accents on the time...:) try count the time ,starting from the first quarter...and you'll see that the song is in 4\4...strange 4\4...sorry if my english is not perfect :D
This is kinda like a Tool video, but i really like it. Both amazing bands!
detoxed off methadone to this. 6 listens + per day with my baby and we both got off clean. TOOL works for others but PT works for me :)
3:50 is so awesome
Great stuff . . . anyone who enjoys this should check out Tomahawk . . . mmmm-mmmm good.
Mmmm Mike Patton all day
Saw them open for tool
