Perhaps rule number 11, we should spray galvanized over all outer reinforcement, including stirrups or at least etch and nutrialize metal to point of ph concrete pH will not react as much... Then we could add number 12, use a coating to protect exposed columns from water intrusion. Keep up your good work, I have posting on this for years now...
Nothing not graded and recommended in engineering should be sprayed as he could alter chemicals contained in concrete mix. Minimum rebars cover is based on building area too. To prevent water intrusion especially in salted air area, we would use a different type of cement like type 2 portland ciment with c3a < 8% or even a type 5 portland ciment with c3a < 5% which is better.
Thank you for the education, I have a plot size 60 × 25 ft, I. Want to make one big shop without middle columns and to construct four storey residential houses on top, kindly advise how will I design the columns and beams. Thank you.
I have planned to construct two separate rooms like 20*10 ( ground floor with 10*14 room size at first floor) & 22.5*10 (only ground floor) . My engineer suggested RCC is as follows. Pls tell it correct or not. Basement level of 22.5*10 is 2 feet less than 20*10 room 1. For 20*10 - 6 columns of 12*4 with 8mm stirr up of 7 inch c/c - four at each corner and remaining two at spacing of 8 feet at one end and 11 ft at other end. Plinth beam with 1.5 feet height and 9*9 (l*b). Ceiling height is 10 feet. Planned tie beam at below windows (2.5 feet) and lintel (7 feet) of 6 inch rcc 2. For 22.5*10 - 6 columns of 12*4 with 8mm stirr up of 7 inch c/c - four at each corner and remaining two at spacing of 10 feet at one end and 10 ft at other end. Plinth beam with 1 feet height and 9*9 (l*b). Ceiling height is 12 feet. Planned tie beam at below windows (4 feet) and lintel ( 8 feet) with 6 inch rcc And join the both room in ceiling and both room in 90 degree position to each other
sir,in your 5th rule you said about concrete cover. it means clear cover right. you are saying about effective cover, isnt it?. because effective cover is between top steel center to top edge distance. so concrete cover and effective cover same?
Hi sir plz reply my question,my house only G[G+0], span between 2 columns length 19 feet ,wedth 14 feet , size of colum 9/15 with 6 bars of 16mm rectangler column, all house walls 9 “wall. And first we make walls before slab it is safe or not ? Plz reply
Sir your video is very informative. 1. Pl suggest the column width for a 25 ft X 44 ft plot (2 Storey Building) ? Is 12 “ X 12 “ enough with 8 Nos 12 mm bars ? 2.Also pl suggest maximum spacing between 2 columns in the above mentioned structure?
Hello respected , Sir you didn't explain that how differentiate square or rectangular column. Means why we use square or rectangular rather than circular
Thanks for sharing. -watching from the Philippines.

Good explanation!
Thanks .
What should be the reinforcement ratio i;e steel qty.
Hey sir ..is that safe if the depth of the beam less than that of the depth
Rectangular column can be use 6 longotudinal bar?
Very nice explanation and fabulous
I love your lecture, very helpful hope to get more information from you sir
Very informative 👍👍👍
Thank you! So useful
It is not readable pl due to light ink...
For finding A zone and B zone in coloumn only two floor beams are considered,is not lintel tie beam required to considered?
Sir can we change orientation of one column at first floor
Thanks sir
Please upload to how prepare bar bending schedule ?~~

Thank you for sharing.
🙂👍
thank you very much,
Masha allah i really appreciate you Sir

Useful info thanks
Thank you sir, i am from Bangladesh
please make video on distance between two columns, grids and size of columns
Thanks for share knowlegde.
Plz discuss Acceptance criteria of concrete as per Britesh Standard
Thanks For Teaching SIr
Thank you very much
Is there a height to cross section area ratio in columns?
Sir, what is the required column and wall footing for 2-storey 5x5 residential house? Thanks.
Sir apka wo Shadi ka coat nhi pehne apne?
Good explanation...
I was laughing the whole time, the accent , the spellings, hahhahah any way good one.
How I know what is steel bar size is required for different colums for load bearing
And Concrete Control Charts Discussed
Great sir but we hardly understand the third and fourth rules any way your explanation are of great help
Nice teaching
Good civil engineering rules of column construction #
Sir
What happensin colmn if concrete cover more than 25mm in rectangular column
👍🏼
Is it possible to build a building in a single column?
👍👍👍
Sir. How would we know the column is axial r eccentric?
🙏🏽❤amazing
Thanks.
Very interested your class sir
sir,in your 5th rule you said about concrete cover. it means clear cover right. you are saying about effective cover, isnt it?. because effective cover is between top steel center to top edge distance. so concrete cover and effective cover same?
Peace to you my Honurable Engr. Sir, thank you sir.
Brother What happens if concrete cover less than 25mm...... ?
Thanks so much teacher
Masha Allah thanks
Sr can you explain about Circular column.
Nice bhai
How about determining the axial load for column sizing?
Calc the load transferring from slab to beams and from beams to column.
how we can know column is taking Axial or Eccentric load
Sir,
Can we construct 2 storey bulding with 4 nos. of 12mm rods in a column ?
excelant sir but more advertisments coming in short times . thank u.
Sir if load coming on 3 then size of coloum?
Sir, size of column plz....if G, G+1, or G+2 residential 4m span. Tnx.
nice one
♥️♥️♥️
In 7 and 8 you may mean vertical rather than longitudinal?
Super sir
Thanks, I have been studying yr video n like it. Only a bit difficult in following yr accent.
I didn't understand the first two rule how do we know when designing where the axial load would be to choose either square or rectangular column?
Sir how would we know that load is on centre or eccentric?
Eccentric means the load is not passing through the centre and it passes at some distance from the centre
@@veerababuakula1344 Moron.
Is clear cover not same around tie of column sir......u said 25 mm from top and bottom and >15 mm from side:....shall we take same or different..
What is pullers with 6 bars use like a shop covered area is 984 sq ft 1floor and 2 floor is 835+ 835 sq fts
The concrete cover for any RCC column should not be less than 50 mm.
Plz reply
15mm cover and 20mm aggregate ?????
Thank you sir
THANKS SIR
Where the laplength should be provided in column.....?
What about footing design if a soil is black cotton?
what is minimum Beam size if 5x5 meter support column residential Building.
why extra steel/rod are putting below in the L/2 portion of beam? please
Sir your video is very informative.
1. Pl suggest the column width for a 25 ft X 44 ft plot (2 Storey Building) ? Is 12 “ X 12 “ enough with 8 Nos 12 mm bars ?
2.Also pl suggest maximum spacing between 2 columns in the above mentioned structure?
max spacing of columns should not be more than 5.5 metres
Ties spacing in IS code maximum 300 mm
Square columns are always better in all cases
Good lecture sir.👍👌🏼
Is it possible to renovate a mud house with reinforced bars without demolishing the entire house?
It is but putting the existing out building in grave danger from settlement.
