A lot of you seem to be struggling with bonding with your parakeets, here's a suggestion. If you have one bird they are much more likely to bond with you than two or more parakeets. Thats only because when you have multiple parakeets they find more time too bond with the other. This causes them to not feel that it"s necessary to have a relationship with their owner. Before you get a parakeet you must consider that. That also dosen"t mean they will never like you thourgh.STOP that dosen"t mean you shouldn"t get two, if you are someone that works or is not home schooled than it's best to get a pair, because your parakeets will get very lonely and could start to pluck feathers, stop chirping and ex. However in her case she is home schooled and is probably able to spend at least 7-8 hours of the day with her bird. If you can do this, great! go buy yourself a parakeet and have fun with him or her. But always remember, that just like you, they want to live a good life, so if you if you can"t spend enough time with them it" best to get two. DON"T HESITATE I HAVE TWO BIRDS AND THEY ARE AS EASY TO TAKE CARE OF AS FISH!! Good luck!!!!
I'd been having trouble training my budgie since December but lo and behold, the perch trick actually works! He steps up and sits on it xDDD I'm so happy and excited!! This helped me a ton.

estephanie Aparicio I just got a new parakeet and he is a guy. I am going to be getting him a female soon after I bond with him.... if i ever do. maybe you should just try splitting the two and bond with them one at a time?.... maybe?
honestly, I got two perakeets today, they both have let me touch them and one has stepped on my finger. one is my younger brothers and I have to train his and mine. Hes afraid of birds and I'm not, he won't put his hand in the cage. but they both have started to trust me and my mother. It all really depends on how skiddsh and where you got the bird from as well
Matija it takes time .. keep using the stick/perch and over a few days they will get used to being closer to you with you talking to them. then you can try using your finger to make them step up off the perch onto your hand. don't make sudden movements and don't put your hand above their heads.just slowly move your finger to their lower belly and eventually they will step onto it. This video does a good job of explaining this.
If they fly keep the doors closed so the parakeet cant go out and to catch them they will fly and they are chirping in the windows catch them slowly and get it but my parakeet always bump into things
+tonadoff there bites do not hurt. you should let them fly around in a bedroom or smaller room (should be the same room as the cage so they can go back and eat food or drink water) and then you shouldn't need to catch her.
@@bashiera5855 That's crazy. I just might take mine back then. I do not want an animal that can harm me. I suppose birds are just not meant to be around ppl.
Joyce, I have two keets and was able to hand tame them. Just be patient and take it step by step, like they show in the video. It can be a bit more difficult when you have a pair, as they will tend to stick together and bond with each other, but that doesn't mean you need to be out of the picture. If you have to, start by talking to them and just spending time with them so they learn to like you :). Best of luck!
You all are very lucky to have tamed birds.. But can some one HELP ME?!! Each time I pick up my bird (angel she really is not an angel to me) she bites and locks on to my finger. 😤😭!!!(ouch!!). My other one us Jeramia. He is good with me . thing is they are both awesome birds! And I really really want to keep them...😭😫😭😫💎💙🐺🐇💚👌💋💖
I'm a new budgie owner as of 1-28-2012 I got Kyba the day after my bday last year. Id been dealing with a medical issue for years when I decided to get him. I guessing that's why Kyba had bonded n trusted by afternoon so quickly we got home he actually perched on my hand by early afternoon and he let me take him out of his cage my noon of day 2 with me perched on my hand. where he immediately went and perched on my shoulder. He has completely bonded and trusts me that Im so so so grateful.
Thanks for having this video i bought my bird fri and its now tues, she is a baby. the song you had on with this video made her start to sing, not so worried now.
Cute video! How long did it take for ur bird to get use to u and how long did it take to learn to step up on ur finger? I just got mine this past weekend and it's just now starting to sing infront of us. Should I try feeding it with my hand first to gain trust?
A few tips for anyone trying to tame pet birds. I recently acquired 2 canaries, one yellow and one brown. First rule: never try to hand tame in the first day. on the second day, I simply placed my hand into the cage and kept it still (some people say 10 mins at a time but i left it in for 30), as you leave place some sort of treat (I used broccoli (millet isn't very good for your bird) ). On the third day I once again placed my hand into the cage for 30 mins, they were more used to me this time and wasn't as fussed, this time instead of placing broccoli inside the cage, i held it through the cage bars with my hands for around 10 mins. Eventually one of the canaries came and tried some. (This is the first part of the trust circle). Fourth day I placed my hand inside the cage with a piece of broccoli in between my fingers, though it took a while, both the canaries came and ate. Fifth day I placed food in the palm of my hand, held my hand in a clutched position with all my fingers together and my thumb on top of my palm and placed it beside a perch and didn't move, one of the canaries ate from the perch out of my hand. Sixth and most important day, I did the same thing but this time placed my hand away from the perch, just so that she couldn't reach the food from the perch, and walla, jumped onto my hand and began eating. From then on its just a matter of using your finger whilst balancing a treat on your hand and then removing the treat all together (the bird will think your hand means food and thus will jump on regardless).Obviously feed her the treat afterwards for being good. Birds all learn at different rates, as said, I have two canaries (canaries being one of the hardest birds to tame, check it up on google or youtube) and only one of them is fully hand tame now, the other is still only eating from my hand. Its all about the individual bird. This method should work for other bird varieties too so give it a shot.
Taylor, Great video. I just got two 'keets today. My parrot of 5 years died last week and I needed a couple of new buds. Enjoyed your video. Keep it up, man!
I watched your video many times as i was trying to impress my parents with how much i knew about budgies. They continued to say no until i wore them down enough that they let me get them. I got a blue one and one that looks almost exactly the same as your bird but white and gray instead of white and blue. I loved your bird and his name so much that i named my white and gray one Owl. Thanks for making this video it really helped me learn and i always reference to it when i need help!
I use to have a parakeet that I taught how to fly from one person and back to me. It was so tamed and so used to me. He even flew up on my shoulder a lot after he got use to me. He was such a lovely little bird.
Thank you for this video. We just got 2 parakeets on Saturday. So, they are very new to me. The poor white one, Coconut, just sits and trembles. I was happy to see it takes a few day for them to adjust, I was worried. But now maybe for few come questions dumb question. I saw you should change the food and water daily, but we have a feeder that holds a lot of food. Should we be putting only a very little in? Also, how often do you change the paper and clean the cage? I never had a bird.
I just got two baby budgies today... I'm very egure to Handel them, but they need time to settle in, it's been one day and are already getting comfortable, and they are moving around the cage and chirping, do u suggest me waiting a week or two? Or even maybe a couple days? Please let me know!
I have two blue parakeets Tsunami and Rain. Rain is a bit antisocial but Tsunami tries his best to play with her. Anyway they both like to be on my right and left shoulder when I play videogames. Is the shoulder perching normal?
Wow, I'm Amazed. You do a wonderful job. I have one question, how do I gain my birds trust? I try to hand feed him and he always fly's away, he gets scared all the time when I get near him.
Does your bird talk? Also is he/She a female, cant really tell from the cere it looks like a female? My bird is a female, i have had her in the house about 2 weeks i just recently got her. I'm starting to gain trust rapidly, she will get on my finger and come out of the cage. Sometimes she flies alot, will this subside soon? would feeding her millett be the best way to stop the flying? I would rather not clip wings.
Hello, I got my budgie yesterday and he seems sad. Is there any way to make him perk up a bit? He has chirped a few times. Should I use a cover over him at night also? Thanks-Eva.
I have 9 Parakeets in a big cage. (Which is probably 5'6' And a half, Considering i'm 5'5' and its taller than me)Me and my sister are considering getting one or two birds into a smaller cage that we have and taming it/them in there at a time. We don't want our parakeets to be afraid of us, They fly away in the cage whenever we put our hands in their to put in food or water, I've been more careful each time I change the food or water, And I wait a few minutes for them to calm down and then changing the food calmly. We are looking for the most calmest one/s to tame first, And we got three so far; Mavis (Female), Jewel (Female, And Soaren (Male). So I just wanted to know if this is a good idea to put them in a smaller cage and taming them from there, And which one/s I should put in first. (A little detail for the the birds, Mavis is a calm bird who like to sleep a lot and doesn't eat as much as the other birds do, I want Mavis to do things more rather than sleeping and slacking off, And she might eat more when she is in a cage by herself or with another bird, Since the other birds hog all the food. Jewel likes to be by herself sometimes, And she usually eats from another container that I put for her by where so normally goes, But she doesn't eat as much as well. I feel like Jewel would rather be with the others or with someone else in the cage, Because she is just a little bit more social than Mavis. Soaren is the most social out of the three of them, He likes hanging out with one of our birds named Katniss, So I'll probably invite Katniss in, And he eats a lot and likes to play with his toys, So I'd say he is "Athletic" in a way. I'd love him to eat out of my hand so he wouldn't eat as much, But he is very social so I might add another bird in there. And our nine parakeets names are, Azul (Male), Angel (Female), Anemone (Female), Katniss (Female), Soaren (Male), Jewel (Female), Mavis (Female), Casper (Male), And Jasmine (Female).
So I just brought mine home today... he has been quiet, hasn't eaten, food is available in cage.. he just has been hanging out in one spot top of the cage. Should I be worried?
This is a great video. :) I just got my first parakeet today since I was about 5 and I'm so excited! I LOVE the bird swing on the little bonsai tree. I hope you don't mind me stealing that idea, because it is awesome! c: Thanks for the vid!
I have to tell you i have had my budgie for three days and listening to this video is the first time he has made any noise. Even listening to other parakeets didnt do it!
So, I have a question. I just started taking care of my parakeet after my brother left for college, hes had her for about a year or so, well ive had her for a week now and she seems to be terrified of me. Which btw, my brother never really interacted with her, he didnt try to hold her or take her out of her cage, ever. So i want her to be happy and able to come out of the cage, but i just dont understand how, she doesnt seem to want me anywhere near her, especially inside her cage. How can i get my bird to actually like me? is it too late because shes already had an owner who didnt really interact with her? any help is greatly appreciated.
Do you have to Put Some Thing On theit ankles so it wont fly around the house or something ? Cause when i got mine out it was flying every where in my house and it took me a while to catch it
I just got 2 new parakeets (Oli & Skylar) and they don't move around a lot like I hoped... Any suggestions? Oli likes to play on the swing I got him but he doesn't do anything else besides tease Skylar... I'm a little worried, considering the fact that Skylar doesn't do much either except press against Oli and stare at me. They seem a little shy but I just want to make sure in case I need to see the vet on this one. If you can help, pls reply!! That would be SUPER helpful for me and my brother. (any suggestions on something I could buy to keep them busy/happy?) (Maybe I should get them separate cages? Anything to gain their trust would be GREAT!)
I got a parakeet yesterday and when I went to feed it I tried hand-feeding it and it jumped into my hand and it ate out of it. Should I be waiting a couple of days to to try and hand feed it again?
I got 2 parakeets (2 days now) and have been trying to talk to them whenever I can and put my hand. It's tough and time consuming. Average time, how long does it take them to get used to their owners?
Hello I just two female parakeets and I noticed one of them is very cautious while the other is more like curious. The less cautious one has put on claw on my finger but not the rest.I would like to get them both comfortable with me.
xunique723x Hey, I am getting 2 Female Parakeets tomorrow as well. Supposedly one of them likes to 'claim' human partners, if the other is less willing, from what I've read. It may take a while till the other one is comfortable enough to ignore the 'claim' to you as a perch, and be on the same level. Some birds are just more assertive in what they want. Like a little person. :P
I've had two parakeets for about 3 or 2 weeks now, but they're scared of me. They're wings aren't clipped, and fly away when ever I put my hand in the cage. I do I give them more time?
I bought my first parrakeet yesterday and he is amazing. He is 10 months old and he doesn't mind to sit up to a minute on my finger. yesterday I let him to fly a little around and It took me approx. 2 min. to get him back to cage. in the pet store they said they were imported from Belgian
very helpful...thanks. but ive had my bird for 2-3 years and i didnt take him out much....and when i do he tries bitting me...please. could you give me some tips on what to do?
Hi i just got a bird and i watched your video, and I'm not planning on taking it out of the cage anytime soon, but when I do and it flies away from my hand what should i do? does it come back to the cage? please assist
So I just got 2 pet parakeets today one is probably only a month old and other one is an adult already the baby is easier to tame and she even eats on my hand on the very first day that I got her it probably took me 4 tries and it worked! the adult parakeet doesn't let me touch it but it does eat on my hand but he won't get on my hand to eat it like the other baby parakeet :( how can I tame him and when I do take them out what if they starts to fly everywhere how do I retrieve it?
My bird can barely step up, is it the time to let them out? I had them out twice and they were flying around the room - flying into wallks and stuff Is it normal? what do i do if she's not calm out of the cage?
I got my parakeet a couple days ago. I only got one. She's pitiful she seems so lonely. Ive been playing videos of other parakeets singing and cheeping for her to hear. Should I continue doing this or is it just confusing her even more. I'm not sure what to do.
So, say from the day you got the bird, how long does it generally take for the bird to gain your trust? I mean, I spend pretty much all day with my new budgie Marley and sit with her whenever I can, but my spring break is ending tomorrow (Monday). If I don't get home until about 3:00, how long could it take for her to trust me?
Love your video! My parakeet was eating out of my hand week one, so I think I lucked out, but I haven't taken him out of the cage yet. I like your ideas and sense of humor. My pet store recommended pellets for food instead of seeds. They eat it but what do you think?
Is your budgies wings clipped?.. I can take my one out but s soon as I do she flies off as her wings are not clipped so I can never keep her beside me outside.. she flies straight back to her cage.. any tips with this?!
I just got 2 new budgies. They were raised well because they aren't that scared and started eating right away. I want to teach them to be held but I'm scared they will fly out of the cage and be loose in the house. How can I prevent that? Or if they are loose how should I get them back in without scaring them?
Well I have 2 parakeets is it possible to tame them 2 at the same time??? They used to hop on my finger a lot but not anymore idk why and I really care for them so I really want to know
I'm glad that I see I'm doiing something right to train my new Budgie. I've had him since October. I have two questions though. 1. I keep trying and am being very patient, but he is very particular about when he steps onto my finger. He has to be on a perch I'm holding out the cage. If I try anywhere else he panicks and flaps but I do nothing differently. Is there anything I can do? 2. I tried hand feeding him, but he appeared scared of the food. was very slow and gentle but he still flapped?
i bought a new parakeet..a sun parakeet few days before. everytime i try to touch its head or his belly,he would try to bite me and he run away. how do you handle this problem? plus, its still a baby..not really small, its becoming an adult in few months. i hope you can lend me a help here :)
I love this video Taylor. I think its awesome. Is your bird alone? I have one male budgie, but he seems lonely. Would you recommend a second one; or should I gain his trust first?
Very funny video with good information!!!! What's weird is mine I can hand feed but I can't get her to perch on my finger yet...and if my hand gets too close to her she flys away. She is about 4 months old and today is my 10th day since I got her. Any tips?
Okay so I just got my parakeet from one of my friends. He has been Their family pet for around 19 years, but they had to move to a smaller place with no pets allowed. Yes been shaking a lot ever since I got him and every time I put my hand anywhere near him he spreads his wings and kinda snaps at my hand. Any suggestions on what I should do?
i like how there is a swing on the bonsai, very cute :3
Why am I here? It's almost five in the morning. I have school tomorrow.
+Dan Ships Phan haha same.
Dan Ships Phan? Fair enough
Glad I'm not the only one
Dan Ships Phan it's 12:30 and I have camp at 7:00 am
I started training my parakeet as soon as i got it, it will perch on my finger & shoulder now comfortably & I have only had it a week. But I get it out twice a day for about an hour & I am always very calm & patient.
Just get it used to interaction & it will learn that you mean no harm.
Can't they bite? Will they fly away if I let mine out?
What kind of bonsai tree was that on your desk? That was a really cool idea.
omg, ikr! :D
we just got a bonsai tree and later w got a parakeet and we named it bonsai (:
I have 2 birds and need help training them they are used to me and will let me open the cage and put my hand in thought when I go closer they seem to be frightened what do I do? Please help I really love them so much

+Diane Mascart-McKeon thats a myth i have to parakeets and they both bond with me
ok well first you want to put your hand on the top of the cage and jus leave it their for about 10-12 mins a day for a week
ya but why are u saying this why do we need to know
I like it it is cute!
Diane Mascart-McKeon i have 4 parkeets scared of me
Excellent video quality. I wish more people took the time to rehearse and edit their material they way you did.
I agree, this video was inspiration for me.
I feel like whenever I do a training session with my budgies, the trust always goes away in like an hour
Yep me to my budgie eats from my hand but its scared of my hand when i dont have food
I'd been having trouble training my budgie since December but lo and behold, the perch trick actually works! He steps up and sits on it xDDD I'm so happy and excited!! This helped me a ton.
I just got a parakeet. The first noise I heard him make was singing along to this video. Thanks for making me feel at ease with my new pal, Stark.
Hello Im Getting My Parakeet In 2 Days
Do Cuddle Bones Really Help Parrots and Parakeets Beaks?
KittyCat Mittens yes!!
KittyCat Mittens mhm
Hi, I just got a brand new parakeet accept I didn't buy it I saved it from starvation it seems really scared of me but I don't want to let it go because it might die because where I live there's tons of hawks what do I do?
Sofia Morlet don’t let your budgie out
That was three years ago😂 but thanks for responding
Do you have any tips for female blue budgies/parakeets? it keeps on flying around the cage from me. I can put on my finger nut i can't take it out of its cage. it might be cause the cage opening is small but still.
I couldn't decide on a profile pic so I chose this same!!! As much as I try nothing works plus she bit my mom for taking her out of her cage
Let it get used to its new home give it time to rest and let it get used to you eventually it will gain trust and it will listen to you
Dont put your and in the cage put your hand on it if it is going away just stop for 2 hours and try it again when its relaxed then when its not moving u can train it also try getting a bigger cage i got my parakeet a cockatail cage on sale it was 46 bucks small cages are no good for them
Mist cages you can open the top, when she flys around she will eventually fly out of the cage!!!
I have 3 newly adopted female budgies and I’m already starting to tame them. It just takes time and you need to be very slow.
I made this video years ago. I am almost 20 now. The reason I was home schooled was because I am very dyslexic. Public schools usually don't cater to dyslexia. I used to have to put my book against a mirror to read at a normal speed. So the fact that I can read and write pretty normally now is a blessing to me. Cheers.
what do you do if your budgie hates you and tries to escape the cage 24/7 ? I have him for almost a week now and he's still very frustrated 😞
hidari 22 How about now??
I just got one today and she already hops on my finger sometimes
But she won't eat at all from her food dish
Pupciclevscatpop wow that's great that it hops on your finger, im jealous! i've had my parakeet about a month now & it rarely does that to me, it use to to get on my shoulder but doesn't any more for some odd reason. Also my budgie didn't start eating until a couple of days when i brought it home (most likely because it was still scared & didn't completely trust me) I was scared it was sick, but trust me after it sees you wont hurt it & the hunger builds up, it'll eat all day long. (also my bird use to eat when it thought i wasn't watching lol). Lastly does your parakeet chirp at all? Mines didn't chirp, sing, talk or anything the first couple of days, i played birds songs for it to calm it down & now he chirps a lot lol. Try talking & singing to your bird often, stick your finger in the cage & talk to it while your doing so that helped me a lot. Make sure you cover it when your about to go to sleep & uncover it when you wake up so it gets use to your sleeping habits. They love millet so always keep some in the cage! Sorry for writing so much, i just got excited. I knew nothing about having a pet bird & had to search a lot to figure some things out but i'm sure your bird will love you. Take care & congrats on your new addition to the family
i had like 7 from petco and they hoped on my finger the first day,but they all died. now i am one from a friend
Mine died. So I got a new one its been 2 weeks and its still afraid of me what should I do?
where did you get them
Hey need help. I just got a new parakeet. But i already had 2 they stuck together. But anyway, would it be alright if i put the new bird with the other 2 right away or......? Anybody that could help me out i would really appreciate it. 😀
It may be a little late but I have been taught to keep your new bird separate from the other two for two reasons. One, it may have mites or other diseases/infections that you or the vet are not yet aware of so keeping it separate for a while will take the risk of infection away. Two, because you don't know how the other two will react or vice versa, and it could be an aggressive reaction.
Jacquelyn S thanks☺
estephanie Aparicio I just got a new parakeet and he is a guy. I am going to be getting him a female soon after I bond with him.... if i ever do. maybe you should just try splitting the two and bond with them one at a time?.... maybe?
Dakota Pratschner thanks for the suggestion. Btw love your profile pic. I love blue and gold macaws!!
I put mine with them immediately it only took them around two minutes to like each other
honestly, I got two perakeets today, they both have let me touch them and one has stepped on my finger. one is my younger brothers and I have to train his and mine. Hes afraid of birds and I'm not, he won't put his hand in the cage. but they both have started to trust me and my mother. It all really depends on how skiddsh and where you got the bird from as well
Heather Gustus so cool! How old were they when you bought them?
Heather Gustus why did ur brother get one if he’s scared of them? 😂
Heather Gustus my birds I just got them. They are eating drinking and all of that and making noises but where do I start with the taming?
Matija it takes time .. keep using the stick/perch and over a few days they will get used to being closer to you with you talking to them. then you can try using your finger to make them step up off the perch onto your hand. don't make sudden movements and don't put your hand above their heads.just slowly move your finger to their lower belly and eventually they will step onto it. This video does a good job of explaining this.
Nicely done. Thank you for the tips! I just brought a parakeet home 3 days ago, and am hoping to start training with it this weekend. Wish me luck!
I just got a new budgie so this will help
if they fly off like they did in the video how do you catch them?
clip their wings; they can't fly then
Keep them in a secure area, build trust and teach a step up. Mine are flighted and I am always able to get them back.
just wait so they become confidict
If they fly keep the doors closed so the parakeet cant go out and to catch them they will fly and they are chirping in the windows catch them slowly and get it but my parakeet always bump into things
KingBeast79 i just clipped their wings
I am afraid that my bird will fly around my housee and I wont be able to catch her, she is not used to me yet so she will probably try to bite me
+tonadoff there bites do not hurt. you should let them fly around in a bedroom or smaller room (should be the same room as the cage so they can go back and eat food or drink water) and then you shouldn't need to catch her.
Kat H. correction some bites might hurt and I have 2 pet parakeetsso I can confirm they bite and usually don't hurt but it varies birb to birb
Bug Forbis my parkeets bites hurt really bad
The Light usually once they are outside of their cage it’s not hard to catch them they’ll just sit and you can carefully pick them up
@@bashiera5855 That's crazy. I just might take mine back then. I do not want an animal that can harm me. I suppose birds are just not meant to be around ppl.
The call outs you made for this video are both cute and clever, and owl is beautiful. Well done!
And I really really want to keep them...😭😫😭😫💎💙🐺🐇💚👌💋💖
Thank you!! I am gonna try to gain there trust by giving them treats each time I pick them up💙
the
OK!!! What is your channel.
Omg I have a parakeet named Angel and she bites so much Cd
XD
I'm a new budgie owner as of 1-28-2012 I got Kyba the day after my bday last year. Id been dealing with a medical issue for years when I decided to get him. I guessing that's why Kyba had bonded n trusted by afternoon so quickly we got home he actually perched on my hand by early afternoon and he let me take him out of his cage my noon of day 2 with me perched on my hand. where he immediately went and perched on my shoulder. He has completely bonded and trusts me that Im so so so grateful.
Thanks for the advice in your video! I just got a new parakeet today and I really needed advice how to make him trust me. This helped a lot!
We just got our bird and this video really helped me learn how to gain her trust. Wish me luck. Thanks!
I've had parakeets for about six months now. One of them I will sit on my finger but the other one won't. This video helped me a lot.
Tyvm! Just bought one for my son and one for myself today--very helpful.
This was very helpful and easy to understand. You have an amazing amount of patience and sense of humour! Thanks!
Taylor,
Great video.
It’s actually really helpful to me because my birds have bonded with me over 2 weeks.😀
oh my gosh my parrakeet is closer to me now with your help thank you so much
This is the cutest how to video ever:) I love the little tree swing idea too!!
Yeah my parakeet lives at my dads house, i can onky see my parakeet every weekend so..it might take longer, yes?
dude i have my parrakeet for 2 yrs and to your help my bird loves me and it flys to its cage by its self you sir earned a sub! and like
I use to have a parakeet that I taught how to fly from one person and back to me.
Oh my gosh thank you so much. I've been looking for something like this! I never thought to use her perch to take her out!
I really like the swing on the little tree. It's cute.
How long does it take to make 2 of them trust you when you are trying to get them out of the cage
Thanks-Eva.
Eva Duggins maybe try getting him a partner and if that doesn't work try other methods and if they don't help take him to the vet
Eva Duggins he could be a bit scared my first took a few weeks but now he's really talkative
Thanks guys. Turns out he is very loud!😂x
I just got Snow today should I try putting my hand in tomorrow with millet? He has been very quit too..not eating or drinking
Hey Taylor, do you think it's possible to tame my budgies even though I have three? If so how can I do that
So I just brought mine home today... he has been quiet, hasn't eaten, food is available in cage.. he just has been hanging out in one spot top of the cage. Should I be worried?
This is a great video. :) I just got my first parakeet today since I was about 5 and I'm so excited! I LOVE the bird swing on the little bonsai tree. I hope you don't mind me stealing that idea, because it is awesome! c: Thanks for the vid!
I have a Parakeet about this year and I think that it hate me very much and he kept falling down the cage...please help me
I have to tell you i have had my budgie for three days and listening to this video is the first time he has made any noise. Even listening to other parakeets didnt do it!
I just got a new parakeet the day after my other one died and can't get him to talk or eat. How long will it take for him to get used to me?
So, I have a question. I just started taking care of my parakeet after my brother left for college, hes had her for about a year or so, well ive had her for a week now and she seems to be terrified of me. Which btw, my brother never really interacted with her, he didnt try to hold her or take her out of her cage, ever. So i want her to be happy and able to come out of the cage, but i just dont understand how, she doesnt seem to want me anywhere near her, especially inside her cage. How can i get my bird to actually like me? is it too late because shes already had an owner who didnt really interact with her? any help is greatly appreciated.
lol i like how u made ur parakeet talk with those speech bubbles.
Hey Taylor I got my budgie 3 months ago, and its terrified of my younger siblings. Will it warm up to me.
I have 2 budgies... Is it rly harder for them to trust me?... Should i put them in different cages?
And how did u make it go on your finger! It doesn't just normally hop on does it?
I got a parakeet yesterday and when I went to feed it I tried hand-feeding it and it jumped into my hand and it ate out of it. Should I be waiting a couple of days to to try and hand feed it again?
Victoria Wheat okay so just have a food bowl okay
How long would it usually take to get him to hop on your finger?
She's so pretty! ;w; Excellent use of branch-perches here. Very easy on every bird's talons.
Very nice video, and nice jobs with the annotations, very funny.
hi, I just got a quaker parrot a few days ago, and he not happy when I'm around with him. What should I do?
I bought my first parrakeet yesterday and he is amazing. He is 10 months old and he doesn't mind to sit up to a minute on my finger. yesterday I let him to fly a little around and It took me approx. 2 min. to get him back to cage. in the pet store they said they were imported from Belgian
very helpful...thanks. but ive had my bird for 2-3 years and i didnt take him out much....and when i do he tries bitting me...please. could you give me some tips on what to do?
+Enderlet try to follow this video. the process will be longer and harder but you can follow the same steps.
thank you for all the advice on how to get your birds trust 😊😊
What if you've had your bird for a long time? Will it still work?
How long should I wait before trying to get him to purch after I bought the bird
I had them out twice and they were flying around the room - flying into wallks and stuff
Is it normal? what do i do if she's not calm out of the cage?
Thanks this will really help me :)
I have a couple parakeets visiting and they're getting to like me! good job. thanks!
Patience and progress ever so slowly. Parakeets can take quite some time to tame, but it's worth the effort!
i bought a new parakeet..a sun parakeet few days before. everytime i try to touch its head or his belly,he would try to bite me and he run away. how do you handle this problem? plus, its still a baby..not really small, its becoming an adult in few months. i hope you can lend me a help here :)
helps if you clip the wing feathers first. you can catch it by throwing a not heavy towel over it if it is hard to catch.
I like that when he flies away you just put your hand on the floor
Owl is too adorable and cute!
