    For the price. This is a very nit picky review. Nothing comes close to this wheel at this price point. There are going to be slight flaws and draw backs. Theyve still got sell the GS and FSR remember. Cant make their cheaper wheel. Better than their top of the range offerings. That just wouldn't make sense would it 😂

    • @kevinking9752

      yeah I was willing to be super receptive a difference in opinion but it seems to come down to 'why isn't this KS wheel exactly like the GS wheel with cheaper materials'? He's really underselling the price point because it isn't just competitive, the only comparable wheel at this price point is the McLaren GT3 wheel, which seems like a toy in comparison with the xbox buttons and a couple dials or the Clubsport Formula Carbon. It is the most affordable functional GT wheel at its price point. Are the analog sticks not being in the exact position as the GS or the shifters needing a more satisfying click really worth 200 more dollars here? Up to you.
      I have an R5 with the KS wheel, been using it for about a month now, and I just don't experience the frustration he speaks of in this review, with the shifters or the button placement. It's purely a personal preference, and it depends on how much you're willing to pay for something that is largely not perceived as a design flaw

      @kevinking9752 I 100% agree with you. The question isn't why should you buy the KS wheel! It's more, why shouldn't you? Imo. I think in the next 6-12 months. Moza will release a killer wheel in and around the £700 mark that will give companies like Cube and GSI etc a real problem.
      I, like you have the R5 and I got the KS last weekend. Got to say that I absolutely love it! I was looking at much more expensive wheels but they all had things that I didn't want or they didn't have things that I wanted. So I would of regret spending that sort of money. So I'm more than happy with my KS purchase. Just need to buy the VRS wheel base at the end of the month and the main bulk of my setup will be complete for this year.

      @@boosivemotorsportofficial To me with the GS vs KS.... it's an extra 200ish bucks just for a couple extra encoders. Not worth it for sure.

    Great review. I'm a happy owner of the Moza R12 + KS wheel combo and I must say you raise great issues, even though I don't really agree with them. I think the paddle shifter click is pronounced while not being overly loud, so I think it's personal preference. Quality is definitely top notch (not talking about quality control, but in terms of materials). I just can't agree on that ergonomics point - I don't know how large your hands are, but I would call mine about medium, maybe small-ish depending who you ask, and I immediately felt at one with how everything is laid out. Granted, I jumped from a G29, so in this way I might be a bit inexperienced. But in my opinion the joystick is right where it should be, even if it means sacrificing access to some buttons - realistically, you're not going to be using them all, so some buttons can be a bit less accessible, whereas at least I find myself using the joystick a lot.
    Quick question - I see you were able to set colours of button illumination and it has been a problem for me since Day 1. How did you accomplish it? I saw a TraxionGG video a while back saying they had the exact same issue I do, so I wonder if you did anything differently than what it says in the manual. Thanks and keep up the great work.

    Good thing about magnetic shifters is that you can add additional magnet over the one allready there and you gain more clickey feeling you are looking for.

    My GS is collecting dust because of this wheel. Thankfully mine didn't turn up sounding like a maraca - the button layout took some getting used to, but that's just adjusting from the GS. I honestly really like the paddles as well, they do have much more travel but there's something about the initial resistance which feels just right and I love the soft stop. I definitely understand if I'm in the minority but I prefer these to the short, sharp crack of the GS paddles (I run them without the rubber pads, didn't like it with them in.) The stiffness of this wheel is another level too, absolutely zero cracking/creaking from the grips (big problem with my GS, despite being a V2) and it feels remarkably solid. The buttons, I concur are 10/10 and so much better in every way.
    My only gripe is with the shape of the grips. That channel cut out for your thumb is terrible and, for me, results in reduced contact where the grip falls away from the middle part of my thumb. The shaping is pretty sharp on the back too. Definitely feels like it was made for smaller hands than mine, but I'm a medium glove. But that's really my only gripe.
    Aesthetically it's not my favourite looking wheel but I can put that aside, everyone talks about the Williams and Ferrari 488 wheels but to me it looks most like the pre-hybrid Red Bull wheels

    • @eg-xf5ic
      @eg-xf5ic 8 місяців тому

      Gs has the v2p coming soon which is supposed to be stiffer and lighter than v2 (making it even lighter than the ks). With that in mind would you say the ks is still likely a better buy? I cannot decide which I should get because I unfortunately can’t try them in person. Currently using the cs and I love the click paddles

    • @EthanDean57
      @EthanDean57 8 місяців тому

      @@eg-xf5icI can’t see the V2P being lighter than a KS, but I’d still go for it over the KS. I’ve changed my mind considerably since this comment. The KS is lighter, buttons feel nicer, and mainly the grips don’t creak/crack but it’s so uncomfortable to use because of the shape of the grips. GS all the way.

    4:22 I just open/extend my fingers so my thumb has more room to press buttons I need to press without accidently pressing other buttons or analogue stick by mistake. I do that with my Esport F1 wheel. But I do hit the top buttons by accident plenty of times when the ffb push against me when I lose control of the car or crash, etc.

    Yeah I think i'll be going with a KS myself. I don't foresee the ergonomics bothering me, but an extra 200ish bucks for a couple extra encoders on the GS v2 isn't worth it, and the FSR is just too much, especially since I use VR which makes the built-in display useless.

    I agree, WHY OH WHY cant you adjust the LED colours through Pit House. My GS GT V2 came with the older style LEDs on the rev counter not the blended LEDs like on your video... odd. Still i prefer the individual LEDs anyway.
    I disagree with the buttons being better on the KS than the GS. The buttons on the KS give good feedback and are tactile, but they feel and sound cheap. The buttons on the GS dont click as such, no. But they dont sound or feel cheap. Still the KS is still a great wheel, but the GS is what the KS should have been to begin with imo.
