@@gnggng. You have missed the point. Women don't have to own businesses in order to be successful. Yes, business ownership is an excellent goal. However, women in the trades and crafts are becoming more common. It used to be that women in skill trades that are traditionally male would be looked upon with suspicion. Girls and women are now realizing that they can go to school or learn from others one-on-one how to do things, and do them well; men are finally becoming more accepting of that. So, while business ownership is a measure of success, it's certainly not the only one.

@@FROSTYLIFE Thank you for the very easy to follow demonstration on how to remove the privacy door knobs, I had two that needed to be removed but I could not see how to remove them, one I had messed up pretty bad but you clip showed me what to look for, the knob fell of and was easy to remove the rest, the second had a hole that I poked the screw driver into as I pulled back on the knob and that came off easy as well, now just a matter of installing the new ones.

I especially liked 3 things that you did, which most other DIY UA-camrs fail miserably at doing:
    1. Your camera angles and visibility of the objects you're talking about at that moment.
    2. That you edited the cuts to remove all of the irrelevant minutiae, such as moving around, changing video position and random himming-and-hawing that bore and distract viewers from the relevant information.
    3. (*favorite and most impressive part) That you recognize the value and importance of visually familiarizing yourself with the mechanics of parts prior to working with them. Clearly you took this into consideration enough so to do a sidebar to show the viewer the components that we wouldn't be seeing before working with them. BRAVO! Keep up the good work!

Thank you! Changed my door knob. At first, installed everything, the lock button worked, I turned the knob but the bit sticking out the side of the door didn't went in. Closed the door and it couldn't open form both side. So I was stucked ! Luckily the screw drivers are with me, so I dismantled the door knob again so I can open the door & put it back together making sure it's properly placed and the side bits comes in an out when I turn the door knob. Lesson learnt.. The hard way and I was very lucky!

Good explanation. I got locked in the bathroom when I was about 8 and my father had to rip the thing apart with a vise grip (1950s-trim-pieces aside, it was exactly the kind you took out, a Weslocks, I believe). The guy at the hardware store sold my father a course, rounded file and told him he'd have to enlarge the hole. They must vary in size just a bit and when the door, frame and lockset are sold as one pre-fab assembly, the cutout is just big enough for the brand of lock they chose.

Hey, I watched your video and it gave me the courage to do it myself, and although it wasn't 100% perfect, first because one of the two screw holes wasn't done properly and the screw didn't fit all the way in (but the other one did, and it's solid and firm enough with one i believe), and the measurements were slightly off because the holes were already made, i was replacing a knob that locks from the inside with only the push of a button, which are relatively easy to jimmy. But I got it to work, so thank you and everyone who posts tutorials and do it yourself-s.

Thank you so much! I was about to lose my mind when i realized there weren't any screws on the outside of the doorknob. This was a bunch of help and now i have a door knob with a lock on my bedroom door. I know where to go next time i need a video to help me fix things around the house. Thanks again man!

Hi and thanks for making this video. Today, and for the very first time, I had to replace the knobs and faulty lock on the side door of our house. I was baffled because I could find any screws. Your video saved me. You did a great job of explaining what to do. The out-takes were funny too. Thanks again!

Thank you, this video was extremely helpful. I didn't have to use the manual! I did have a hard time removing the cover because our door knob had been on there for over 20 years but I just used a hammer to tap on the cover to remove it.

Thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for. Every internal door in my home has 'locked' at some point (mainly the ones that are not the lockable sort!) No fun being locked in a room and I'll be making sure to get better quality replacements. So thanks again.
