dealing with Sargent 8 Line Knobs, how to remove/rekey

In this video we are going to take a look at the “old school” Sargent 8 Line doorknobs (signifies by a 8 on the latch) These can often seem tricky to remove from the door and many have reached the end of their life span and might need to be replaced. They are extremely heavy duty knobs that can still last several more decades with proper maintenance so if in functioning condition it’s always best to just rekey.
It is actually easier than some Sargent knobs (like the 6 line standard cylindrical) because the cylinder does not need to be turned (with key or by picking) to take apart to rekey, so that’s a bonus!
