So from what I understand is the best lock is a solid loop of metal you have to hack though and weld back together each time you want to open your box.
When you're dealing with the Lock Picking Lawyer, that may work. The problem is that he's going to call his friend BosnianBill who'll just shoot it with a .50 cal.
@@thatoneasiankid8734 I don't know if you've watched bill's videos, but he's far more willing to go with... Erm... "destructive" entry methods than LPL.
Well if you're REALLY paranoid you can always go with a Squire lock that has a high-end core. Squire's top tier lock was able to withstand numerous .50 BMG rounds, and can be given cores outside of the skill range of most lock pickers. Of course, it's also absurdly heavy and large.
Oh my god I realized how much I love their subtitles when it specified that LPL was reassuring about the bent shim. It’s such a minor detail that can really change how some people can experience a video if they have audio processing issues or trouble telling tone

I'm a big fan of LPL. It's so nice to see him teaching others and you can enjoy even more his talent when you see others having a hard time. He always make it seams effortless.
Honestly, I learned the basics of this before leaving high school (parent had a mental breakdown & would lock me in my room & wander off, things got better eventually), but locks are mainly for keeping honest people honest & away from crimes of opportunity.
@@chickenbob562 Years ago in high school, I took the ASVAB CEB and one of the questions just stuck with me. Twenty-five percent of all household burglaries can be attributed to unlocked windows or doors. Crime is the result of opportunity plus desire. To prevent crime, it is each individual’s responsibility to Prevent the Opportunity We have no control over the desire of others.
I've been criticized most of my life because I feel the need to know how things work (inside). If I throw something away I take it apart first. Even in math, I feel the need to know a formula works. I didn't finish fourth grade but I went to night school less than 16 classes, got my GED, took a home course, graduated Automotive Technology probably because I knew how things worked inside. Great video, thank you soooo much!
My friend's dad taught me how to pick locks, he was a lock Smith after his 9-5 job, but he also enjoyed the puzzle, so he had a huge box of many different brands of locks to pick. I found out pretty quickly that master locks were the easiest to pick. Sadly, when I got hooked on drugs, picking locks became a necessity so I could have my dope for the day. Luckily I was strong enough to drop the habit 6 yrs ago, but I still enjoy picking locks as a hobby. Btw, 4 number combination locks are the absolute easiest locks to pick. Just like in this video, you just have to slide a tool into the side of the 3rd wheel, so don't use them. I did it alllll the time.
@@crustybomb115 almost all locks out there can be picked most locks that are harder to pick have security pins (some look like the spool on a fishing reel, or like serrated knifes) different security pins require different ways to pick them most locks that lpl haven't been able to pick are locks that don't give you access to the pins which most are too expensive for people to use normally
@@TitanBeats All locks can be picked. Some are too difficult for almost anyone to pick, and more importantly: Not all locks are worth the effort of picking them. There's always another way in. Your lock should ideally be more difficult than the alternative.

when i was in middle school i remember turning a pencil (metal part) into a shim and opening a couple hundred locks with it, took about 2-3 seconds each time
Heres the thing, his lock picking skills are incredible to say the least but what impresses me the most is that he has such a strong moral compass that he uses his unmatched skills to educate.
Back when I was in high school (when dinosaurs roamed the earth) everybody had a master lock, combination type, on their lockers. These were vulnerable to the shim attack. There were two good sources. The better one were street sweeper brush wires, which were actually not so much wires as long skinny and flat pieces of metal. You could find these on the street just by keeping your eyes out, because they fall off ... if not all the time, then at least enough of the time. The second source is also a long skinny flat piece of metal, from a ruler. The good rulers, meant to be used as a straightedge, had a thin blade on the edge, to prevent the wood from getting dented and ruining it as a straightedge.
My high school (1999-2003) had the lockers with the combination knobs built-in, and they changed the combinations each year. It would've been fine if they didn't also keep the spreadsheet with all of the combinations in an open folder on the network. I found them while bored one day, showed someone, and a few weeks later he was suspended for selling printouts of the spreadsheet in the hallway.
Always love the thick accent hidden behind presenter mode the LPL has - especially how he says key. Even if this isnt how he speaks to people in real life and he's just in teacher made its great

feeling like he did that on purpose. I imagine he's heard all the puns by now...
I've watched so many of LPL's videos. But seeing him teaching someone really demonstrates how talented he is.
Listen to this man, bros. If you’re forcing it, you’re doing it wrong. Everyone, especially your spouse, will thank you.
The joy expressed here is so perfectly representative of the joy that got me hooked on this stuff. Am here to see LPL be LPL. These guys are great compliments to his energy.
I love how LPL is so monotone but also gets all the like emotions and feels out with out changing his voice tone.
@@MrKeserian you may have a point...
@@MrKeserian what about the Bowley locks? I don't think Lock Picking Lawyer has picked those yet.
I love how non pretentious and happy LPL is to share his passion with others
Oh my god I realized how much I love their subtitles when it specified that LPL was reassuring about the bent shim. It’s such a minor detail that can really change how some people can experience a video if they have audio processing issues or trouble telling tone

Brian- "T-too soon."
Damn that hit me in the feels more than I thought it would...

Oohhhh yeah! I had no idea what it was in reference to, in all honesty I kind of forgot that Grant died

I'm a big fan of LPL. It's so nice to see him teaching others and you can enjoy even more his talent when you see others having a hard time. He always make it seams effortless.
Honestly, I learned the basics of this before leaving high school (parent had a mental breakdown & would lock me in my room & wander off, things got better eventually), but locks are mainly for keeping honest people honest & away from crimes of opportunity.
dude, this is so fucking true and im surprised i have never thought about this myself before. thanks for this.
@@chickenbob562 Years ago in high school, I took the ASVAB CEB and one of the questions just stuck with me.
Twenty-five percent of all household
burglaries can be attributed to
unlocked windows or doors. Crime
is the result of opportunity plus
desire.
To prevent crime, it is each
individual’s responsibility to
Prevent the Opportunity
We have no control over the desire of others.
I only ever learned how to pick one lock, the one to the TV room.
It's amazing to me how LPL always sounds so perfectly calm and relaxing.
You would too if you had a law degree to fall back on in case your lucrative black market former police gun franchise ever runs into trouble.
'I'm still perfectly straight. I'm just gonna twist it a bit and shove in'.
What if one day you want to know how humans works?

Happy to hear you rose above your addiction; I wish you good fortune in your future endeavors.
This guy should design some locks that he can’t pick
there are a few he hasnt been able to pick, he has picked prison locks on his channel
@@TitanBeats wait WHAT????

Wow Brian and Jason never stop interrupting LPL the whole time. I guess it's just the excitement! Excellent video.
"The Murphy Protocol" is the best thing I've heard all week!
