Today we dive into a Call of Duty Character that everybody forgot about. This is of course Gary “Roach” Sanderson. We talk about his back story and where he is today. Hope you enjoy it!

I'm writing a prequel book for MWII 2022 about Ghost, I bring Roach back in it.
Nobody forgot about Roach. He has a very big place in every MW2 player’s hearts. We saw the betrayal of Shepard through his very last moments and I couldn’t help but feel horrible for Ghost and Roach
Many people forgot about him. His death isn’t really ever brought up. It’s always Ghost

@Captain Rex, now you're asking the right question. Task Force 141 is supposed to be a Multinational Task Force and not a complete British UKSF Task Force under the command of a very corrupt US General.
@@levpetrov3634 That's what I'm saying. Why is TF141, a multinational task force, comprised of only British people. Not to mention why is the SAS working for the CIA. (I know the US and UK work closely, but still).
Having so many minor teammates (all of them even having their own Nicknames) is what gave me a sense of being a badass who was a part of the world's best taskforce. It made the collapse of the taskforce even more impactful, as it was more than just about 5 soldiers getting hunted, it was an entire group all being slaughtered while they were separated, men who I oddly enough was actually sad for when I learned that they were all being hunted down as I fought my way out of the boneyard.

i explain it shortly its a massive squad of soldiers... but keep in mind they are group with 6 to four each... that explains it.
I would love to see roach ,grinch,frost and sandman in the new series.

I've always liked Roach more than Ghost. Sure he never talked or interacted with anyone but his actions within the campaign substituted his lack of dialogue. Extracting the ACS module via smowmobile chase, taking on a Favela single handedly, escaping said Favela with the entire village trying to kill him. Even extra bits of lore like in Soap's journal how he mentions Roach and that he see's a lot of his younger self in Roach. He never spoke a word, but you felt like an invincible badass as Roach and that's why I like him so much. Here's hoping he returns for MWIII

How can I forget Roach? Ever since Shepherd returned in MW II, the betrayal from the previous game kept popping in my memory.
I wish Call of Duty would include more American tier 1 operators/forces like Delta Force and DEVGRU (ST6). Delta was a major faction in MW3, perhaps they’ll be brought back in the next installment; but still, as much as I admire SAS and the idea of a multinational TF-141, the Modern Warfare series needs more American tier 1 operator representation in campaign and multiplayer.

Btw! What is happening to CODs operator skins? Why has everything in the store became so flashy, gold plated, animated, and whacky? Where is the grounded, realistic, mil-sim skins? I’d love a DEVGRU operator skin with quad-nods and desert digital tactical camo-especially for a map like Al Mazra. There seems to be a lack of tan colored outfits option, maybe on purpose to avoid advantage

It makes me so happy to see that others haven't forgotten about Roach, he's one of my favorite characters!! Also, in "Soap's Journal" that comes with one of the bonus editions of MW3, Soap goes a bit more in depth about Roach which is really cool. Here is one of the parts that speak about him :
"Have been looking forward to breaking Roach in. Beyond the mission similarities, He reminds me after myself after selection. Feel even more comfortable with him than Price must have with me. Handled the C4 detonation perfectly, even as I looked at dozen muzzles. Not half-bad on a snowmobile either. A future in snowcross racing?

I knew from the first few seconds it was roach. I still remember how insane the death scene was. Biggest shocking moment in gaming at the time.

If u actually dive deep into it Roach is a part or was a part of Task Force 141 but its weird they didn't even mention him in the end credit scene of mw 2019.
There were other files that weren’t revealed and they’re still not revealed (which is shitty storytelling) so that means we’ll see the others later

I have always complained that Simon could have shot Sheppard instead of yelling roach then raising his gun, the funny thing is Sheppard feared roach more then ghost if you watch his face at the helicopter he was immediately targeting roach

I can't believe Infinity Ward skipped on Roach who we play as for 7 missions (6 missions technically) in MW2. It's like they only added Soap and Ghost just so the game could sell. Taskforce141 can't be complete without him.
For me, the fact that Roach never spoke nor we aw his face made me attached to him more than the others for years now.
Weirdly the SPECGRU Ranger 3 operator skin has same jacket as Roach (from Loose Ends [when Ghost die] )

Gary Roach sanderson is such an underrated character. We need him back im so happy he is finally getting some recognition/praise he desrves it. Even he was a silent protagonist and we didnt know much about him i really liked playing as him

Roach actually talks, in the gulag mission when soap tells you to cover him with a riot shield roach responds.
I know what video you're referring to but it's been debunked. The person who speaks in that mission also speaks later at a time where it couldn't be Roach, and that character also has an American accent. Roach is British, as he's SAS.
Really would be cool if we get to play as Paul jackson, Ramirez, frost and roach again in the new MW games. They are literal badasses.

i always wondered if they'd bring him back. i like to think rodolfo is roach who just didn't get the callsign yet. or maybe im wrong, but i enjoyed playing as roach and was hoping they'd develop him further like they did with soap. imalso assuming that joseph allen (the guy you play in no russian) is just a shadow company operator
Roach was a cool character, always silent but deadly soldier, reminds me a lot of Noble 6 from Halo, both high skilled and deadly but silent at the same time. He got into task Force 141 and sent onto those suicide missions for a reason, cause he is that good and keep in mind please that he was a freakint sergeant. I hope they bring him back, it would be cool he is also in operation kingfish short movie.

I never forgot about Roach. I was born in 93 and still have respect for veterans today. 🙏. I only enjoyed the WWII games until I decided to get MW2 as my first "modern" shooter. And to this day Roach has been my favorite character to play as, due to the story and progression we go through to stop a madman. Imagine my shock when I kept on trying to beat Loose Ends and finally reached the end... and to my horror to see both him and Ghost die.
To me, we were Roach, and I'll always perfer to be in Roach's shoes.
Thing was not even a year after MW2 was released, people been debating that GHOST did not die. And that stuck around for years. I don't know how people came up with Roach not dying since he was CLEARLY SET ON FIRE, paralyzed and no help coming.

I saw this roach from a mile away he is my fav character we see him many times on cod mobile comics my fav comic and page is where price hugs roach
With the next Modern Warfare focusing even more on asymmetric urban warfare and it's leaning towards sorta smuggling of nearly untraceable weaponry, It would be fitting to have Roach and Yuri potentially being on opposite sides of the same coin as possible intelligence liasons who play key roles in identifying potential targets and performing Count-int to throw off the other, like rivals
Especially considering how Yuri was Makarov's right hand man for plenty of their time until No Russian

"the mission where ghost died" lol literally everyone I talked to when this came out referred to it as the scene where Roach died. Nobody really cared about ghost, he was a character that existed to look cool.
I feel like Alex's name was originally supposed to be a code name, but remember, the lead writer behind MW 2019's story left Infinity Ward before MW2 came out.
Sgt Jackson (MW1, died from nuke) - Agent Allen (played in SSDD, CIA undercover agent for makarov, dies by makarov killing him) - Gary 'Roach' Sanderson: 3 playable characters from the original MW series that we know next to nothing about
I think Roach is embodied within all the default characters because he was truly a normal soldier, the jack of all trades, he wore regular soldier atire, all the other TF141 soldiers have something special about them
Ghost: Skull Mask
Price: Boonie
Soap: Mohawk
They never elaborated on him, he never spoke, but he was a pretty damn good soldier.
I literally notice this when i got mw2 like "how would they forget my boy roach?" no one was was talking about it. I really hope that he returns in mw3
Roach survived being shot and burned somehow but was still captured and a POW. Yuri also survives and is in prison with Roach. There will be a mission about Roach and Yuri and what they know about Makarov and his plan to destroy the west. This is where TF141 comes into play….
You never hear about any of the Marine Recon guys from the original game like Grigs, or when they actually decided to add some characters to the Shadow Company faction the introduced 3 new bad asses in MW 2019 with CPT Ortega, Rose, and Velcan in which you don’t see Ortega anymore… I wonder if we will ever see him again.
Those throwaway characters were forgotten in the dust and most of them looked like they came from a different game like I’ve compared salem to harper because they literally the same character and that’s no coincidence

Inthe single player for black ops 3,instead of playing as a mason family member,your character is called: ''the player'',which is you,and you can customise your character as you like
more to that,in cold war,''bell'' it just a nickname you can call yourself
for example,you can call yourself John price,and the game calls you : John ''bell'' price
So my theory goes like that:
roach was supossed to be a customisable character,which you can change his uniform,name and stuff,but its 2009 and they didnt thought about that/not neccecery to do so because buying uniform for you virtual character was weird in 2009
7:23 tbf so was soap,forst,ramiriez when you were playing as them in their games they never spoke at all not once we never saw them from different POV
Well what about Metal Team from MW3. Sandman, Frost, Trunk and Grinch played big roles in the end of the original trilogy. Especially Sandman because he was part of tf141 until it was disavowed by the American Government for killing General Shepherd. Price and Sandman knew each other until the ending of mw3. Frost was actually part of cutscenes during a few missions as well as having dialogue in the spec ops. (Mostly reused from mp). Also what happened to griggs from MW2019? When will he come back? What happened to Kamerov? What happened to the timeline connection of BO and MW?
I always thought that Alex was "Roach" because of his miraculous survival too.
There is actually another forgotten character and its Sandman from the og MW3 and also you forgotten another character like Roach and uts Frost, Frost and roach are kinda the same because they both dont talk i can say you should make i video about this forgotten Characters
plot twist roach will become the main antagonist after makarov.... he survives from that gas flames and put the blame on price and kill price and the entire 141 team but he had retrogade amnesia and cant remember why he choose to kill the entire 141 cast

One thing the new MW fails to do is killing off any of the characters to make room for new ones. While I'd love to see Roach, Frost, etc. There's way too many characters to keep track of, probably so the battle pass has enough content for 6 seasons. One part of why the characters of the original games are so cared for is from how they died sometimes unexpectedly.
The trade off is the few characters that do get attention get more to do and more development, characters became very disposable in the old games to the point where you can really only invest in Price and Soap

The Fact is
"Price doesnt know Roach"
Roach joined the team after price went to Jail "Prisoner 627"
So to Roach to be introduced Price has to go to jail first for the story line.
As long as Price in the game roach is totally off the storyline for now

Ghost wasn’t in the first game and neither was Soap until the later season of MP. They might add him in mw3, who knows? We’re getting Makarov so maybe we might see Yuri too? Hopefully they bring back a form of delta squad like the did with Sgt Griggs in mw2019

I'm pretty sure the number one character everyone forgets about is the "Player" character from Black Ops 3. The dude literally got no backstory but what was in the whole game lol.

they should make a dlc for mw2 with soap and roach meet up and work together while captain price take the position of over watch
The character roach was also in call of duty 3. Maybe it was his grandfather in the SAS during the Normandy campaign.

Roach returns as a character in the cod mobile comics. They portray him as a Milsim skin you can get in MW 2019, and he talks

as a young kid in elementary school everyone was going crazy about MW2, and we'd go out on this big hill to play as the characters from the game, they stuck me with Ozone, which i thought was stupid as a kid, but now I realize it was because i was the only american out of them.
