    As soon as the video started i was thinking you needed jetski stands/carts and a chain winch to move them on and off trailers like i have in my shop. Makes everything an easy one man operation.

      I know right, the dollys have massively helped me out with space, I’m working on an electric winch setup at the moment which will make it even easier.
      Thanks for watching dude 👍🙏

  • @3akoscielski

    You should install a winch in the garage to help pull the PWCs off the trailers onto the dollies. Just put the dolly behind the trailer and pull the PWC onto the dolly with the winch. When you want to put it on, use the trailer winch to pull the PWC onto the trailer, off the dolly.

      100% on the to do list.. would make life alot easier... the plan is to put a U metal frame and a winch mounted ceiling height, so I can winch up and down to negate any height changes that I may need if going from lower trailers to higher... I need it as a self sufficient frame to mount the winch to, as the ceiling of the garage is an internal house ceiling and don't fancy hanging the weight of a ski from the living room ceiling 😂😂 thanks for watching... p.s. I have now switched to stereo audio 😉😉

      Yes, I noticed the audio change! The video editing is really well done, absolutely love them! I've been dabbling in wedding videography so I have a good appreciation for the shots that you guys get and the editing of the videos. Keep up the good work!
      Also, I just bought my first SeaDoo, a Wake 170! Picking it up in a month! Looking forward to getting out on the water. The older skis seem like so much fun too, maybe I need to pick up a project ski for myself later too!

      @@3akoscielski Are you based in the UK? I will for sure need a structural engineer to help with the internal wall take down (thermalite block wall at the back of the garage) As a introduction of a steel will be needed, as I'm pretty sure the rear wall is a structural internal wall... there is another 4x5m room behind the garage that is just full of storage so is crying out to knock the garage through and have the whole bottom floor of our house as a garage...TBH I didn't even realise that the audio wasn't stereo but was an easy fix so thanks for mentioning it. Thank you for the appreciation for our content, we do try to create shots that go beyond the norm just to give the video abit more interest...glad you liked it. Nice man, congrats on your first ski...I hope you get out and have hours of fun mate! Naturally I am biased but I just love everything old, it adds a lot of nostalgia for me from when I was a kid but ultimately getting on skis in general is what its all about...but for sure if you ever get a chance of a tidy 2 stroke and your fairly competent at fixing and maintaining one, then do it for sure...they are so much fun. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel dude!

      @@classicjetskis Ahhh I am in Canada actually, and I can't do structural work for houses, unfortunately. If you need help with the lift and the frame for it I can help with that.
      That sounds like an awesome option though! That'll be an amazing-sized garage!
      I never had the opportunity to ride when I was younger so I don't have the nostalgia for the older ski's!
      I'm the first of my friends and family to buy a SeaDoo, so I'm just trying to get everyone else hooked so I have more people to go out with Hahaha! But yea, maybe a fun 2-stroke project ski in the future would be a lot of fun :D The Spark's seem like fun too, and are closer in size to the older ski's. I'd consider them as well, but that wouldn't really be a project ski.
      Anyway, let me know if you want help with the frame for the winch!

      @@3akoscielski I hear you dude I think if you haven't got any real tie back to the older stuff, its a harder sell why you would buy newer, as alot of the strength in buying old is knowing about the older stuff, working on them and generally the nostalgia of it. If you're entering PWC's as someone fresh for the first time, the dealer support, part accessibility and everything else is easier with new, but if you're feeling brave and want adventure, old all day long for me. Thanks again

    Get a double ski cart stand and winch one on top. Or rent a storage unit...i currently have 3 storage units full of skis..lol.
    And finally the best choice, buy/build a bigger garage

    • @classicjetskis
      @classicjetskis  Рік тому

      I love the idea of double stacking the skis but accessibility wise it would prove tricky... the great thing about single carts is you can independently move them much easier, a double would save me no space as the skis literally butt bumper to bumper. I will be taking the rear wall down which will make the garage 4x5 meters bigger so there is plenty of future scope for more room... the dollys have freed up the spaced needed, so happy days!

    Look up "caliber bunk slides" they screw into the bunks and help allow the skis to slide on and off..i use them on my trailers and my carts. Makes it a 1 man job. Spray some wd40 on the slides and they just glide right off

    • @classicjetskis
      @classicjetskis  Рік тому

      I'll take a look...from a quick google they look to be rubber? if so I have to be honest, I'm not a fan of rubber bunks, I hear you that you can spray them with WD40 but prefer a good marine carpet...in any case I have 2 bunks now and one roller, so in time will be able to give a definitive conclusion on which is better for real world use (for me that is, I know everyone has there own take on it).

      Polaris are generally junk. One of my buddies used to be a diehard Polaris fan with like 8 Polaris skis. Needless to say he now has like 10 Seadoos and 0 Polaris skis.
      Big issue with the Polaris skis is the electrical and ignition systems. Then since most were tripple cylinders, they always seemed to have the center cylinder fail and burn out. Plus 3 cylinders mean 3 carbs..what a pain..
      I have a 96 Polaris sl750 that i bought with a double trailer...i have it posted for $400 as I know its worth $800 in parts and I still cant get anyone interested in buying it.

    I dont like the rollers as they seem to pinpoint pressure/weight on specific spots of the hull as opposed to bunks that provide full support along most of the hull.

    • @classicjetskis
      @classicjetskis  Рік тому

      One major thing is rollers aesthetically look much nicer and can be customised to look ace... here in the UK Extreme trailers use non marking nylon rollers (a lot of brands use rubber) and I'm working with them at the moment to look at doing a roller bank (more rollers so more contact points) this would then essentially be a bunk on steroids... I love bunks but I launch a lot on the sand and rollers are so much easier to use... I avoid putting my trailers into the salt....

    I'd keep the newer xp's, the gsx, and the wave blaster. The rest of the hull designs are respectively junk as mint condition as you have made them.

      I do hear you but man its hard to let any of these classics go as they have all got such a great story, history of ownership and all form part of the PWC 90s history... yes some are better than others but i just love opening the garage and having such a range of skis... Also I assume you missed the X4 hull XP as this hull was one of the best hulls ever made?

    • @Detailonthemove

      @Classic Jetskis oh I meant keep the x4. I've got a 96 xp 787 myself. I was just saying as far as hull design, speed, and collectability I'd keep the 96 and 99 xps the blaster and the gsx if you were stuck between making room for them.

    When storing those jetskis, you should leave the hoods/ engine cowling open so no corrosion occurs.

    • @classicjetskis
      @classicjetskis  Рік тому

      Agree when in riding season but in winter and colder months this is a bad move… I let my engine bays fully dry out by the time they are winterised… if you are putting them to bed correctly, your engine bay should be dry, that coupled with a lubed up engine bay with a good anti corrosive spray, it’s better to close them up… think of it this way… if I was storing it on the driveway…would you leave them open…no because the benefit of keeping out the cold and elements out way the risk of corrosion, but again I have never experienced corrosion because I always ensure the engine bays are cleaned, fully dry and lubed…
      What I would say is I would agree on the riding season I always leave them open as to let the engine breath, as I ride them a lot more, so higher chance of active water from cleaning the engine after rides etc.
