    Well done Gordon, as usual. I don't want or need this lovely piece of kit, but it was fun seeing how it performs.
    BTW, keep an eye out for the possibility of US dollar price drops in Canon gear, since much of it is still made in Japan, and the yen has fallen about 40% against it in recent weeks. These currency fluctuations could get VERY interesting over the coming months if Canon decides to take advantage of them.

    great video, I am curious how jittery the video is due the the IBIS when panning while filming. Case scenarios I am thinking about are filming wildlife that happens to be moving, my XT2 jitters are really pronounced and I'm hoping this has been inmproved with the new cameras, or at least might be addressed in subsequent firmware updates. Thank you

    • @JoaquimGonsalves
      @JoaquimGonsalves 2 місяці тому

      In theory, it should be better than the XT2 but the problem with Fujifilm, is that their stabilization (and also AF) are firstly not great for video and also inconsistent between their own lenses. Let alone third party options.
      Having said that, IBIS in the XH2S is a huge help during framing for birding (in my experience with the 55-200). In your case use, how much of that performance is purely from the camera and not just the OIS, will be more evident by those who have tested both side by side which is honestly quite hard to do for wildlife.
      My recommendation would be to rent an XH2S and test it for yourself, if you have the opportunity to do so in your location.

As you are aware, many reviewers are panning the X-H2S for poor 240P performance relative to the X-T4. Others have shown the GH6 240P performance to be far better than the X-H2S. However, when I look at your 200P test charts for these cameras, it appears to me that the X-H2S significanlty beats them all. Can you help me understand the difference between your test charts and what others are empirically observing. Also, eagerly awaiting your review of he X-H2 video capabilities--particularly how the 240P resolution charts compare and bird/animal autofocus.

      I should be publishing my XH2 for video review next week. I can't comment on other people's videos and I don't know how they test, but the thing you need to be careful about is streaming in high res and viewing on a high res display, ideally both matching the native res of the project. All of mine are in 4k, so you should ideally be streaming in 4k AND watching on a native 4k screen. if there's any scaling at any point, the resolution charts will show moire in different ares and be hard to judge. That's why I also give a commentary on what I'm seeing even if it may not quite look that way when viewed!

Basically, if you want to get into Fuji, this is the perfect camera to get, otherwise I don't see this being an update to my XT4. @@sliceofmymind by that logic, you could dismiss anything more expensive than the x-t4 by any brand, especially stacked FF cameras that run twice the cost of the x-h2s. Because you don't have a need for those capabilities doesn't mean much

      @@tjkrueger2655 You didn't answer the question because you, like myself, realize it is not worth the price. I have a S1H, A7S3 and R5. All of those were worth the price of admission for the most part. The XT4 is a fantastic camera and was well worth the preorder price I paid for it. I had high hopes for the XH2S. I really wanted it and Fuji to beat the FF cameras that dominate the market, instead we got a refresh of the XT4 for more money.

      It's certainly not as confident as Canon or Sony in this regard. I hope they can improve it over time.
