    This idea that they're together now and helping each other...Whether you believe in it or not, the point is Todd does, and it brings him comfort, and hopefully Billie and the rest of the family as well. RIP.

      I agree. When my husband passed not that long ago, I wished to go with him like that, but we have young children who need me here. At Debbie's age, having lived her whole full life, most beautiful way to go. No one should spend their last few elderly years with failing health and unspeakable, torturous grief.

    When I first heard the news about the Unsinkable Debbie Reynolds passing, I knew she had done something like what Todd described; I knew that taking care of Carrie was why she kept herself alive and working - and that when Carrie died she said to herself, "I don't want to stay, anymore." So she made sure Todd and Billie were OK and then went directly to be with her daughter. She was always a strong Christian and didn't fear death at all, and Todd and Billie will be OK.
    The funeral and tributes are for us fans, and any drama will come from the fans(and may be started by the media or paparazzi) but everyone should take heart from Debbie's attitude about her troubles(Keep on keepin' on because God loves you) and Carrie's hard-won lessons that she shared with the world(much the same, maybe a bit more cynical)and which allowed her to keep going. She and Debbie were still smart and still working, and they both didn't worry much about what others said about them.
    Carrie and Debbie are in a good place. They both would want all of us to be well, and to take care of ourselves, and to keep on going, working or whatever, and to not worry.

    2:42 Every family needs to be this close and strong. Todd is obviously a confident and grounded man - more likely the hidden "force" behind this family. God bless them as they heal...guide them, comfort them, and give them strength. God is real. May the Force be with every mourning fan. This interview brought so much peace for me.

    • @paulj6662
      @paulj6662 7 років тому +6

      Hmm, maybe. Faith is constantly reassuring yourself you haven`t been sold a crock and made a fool of yourself, faith is bullshit;
      when you know you dont know what you claim to know, like where dead people go. Or that god is real, only in your head.
      It`s a nice idea, (the 2 of them, together, like my parents, somewhere nice,) but that`s all it is.
      The whole thing, gods, heaven, hell, the bible is all made-up bullshit.

      Paul...I am not a believer in any way in organized religions myself, however, an insofar as an afterlife and a "God" of some kind...there is proof other than faith. I suggest you do some very DEEP research into NDE's (near death experiences) , death bed visions, shared death experiences etc. Especially, look into NDE's for starters and that alone..if you are honest in your research should change your mind, if it is a sound, reasonable and logical mind that you possess.

    I can't believe how much strength this guy has. I'm glad that he has almost selflessly forced himself to see the bright side of their reunion even though it left him all alone without a sister or mother. I don't know if I believe in heaven like Todd, but I truly want to believe the little picture he laid out of Carrie wrecking the place and Debbie coming to care for her, such a great image of them together again. Two absolute treasures, whose work and lives are going to be appreciated to huge extremes for the rest of our lives. Rest in Peace, hope you're both still having a rockin time wherever you are Debbie and Carrie. Thanks for everything

    Wtf is wrong with Elizabeth Vargas?
    Shame on her. At times she even looks skeptical and disbelieving while asking the most obvious, first year journalism questions. Acting like she's interrogating a conman and not a grieving, still trying to be upbeat man, who's lost his sister _and_ his mother. Todd Fisher 's patience with her ridiculous questions is astounding. Vargas says to him "What do you mean, she 'faded out'?" What do you think it means, dummy? She slowly passed away peacefully after saying she missed her daughter.
    Then as if trying to compound his pain, she asks the no-brainer; "It must have been excruciating for your mother to lose your sister?"
    _How_ long has she been doing this, almost 30 years? Shouldn't she be better or do better?

    • @Javajunkiedc
      @Javajunkiedc 7 років тому

      h xassan maybe she was drunk. I think Stephanie Vargas has a drinking problem. I mean I think she's been public with it. Unless I'm confusing her with someone else.

    When I heard Carrie had died, I thought to myself, Debbie must be heartbroken. Then to hear that Debbie died as well made me feel so sad for Todd. The loss he was experiencing had to be devastating for him. But after seeing this, his composure and complete belief that they are together and happy, I think he has a better grip on the loss than I DO. And I'm not even part of the family. What a great way to look at their passing, and I feel better knowing that Todd is going to be just fine through all of this!

    I have had a sad feeling because of the loss of these women. especially because Billie was left by the 2 most important people in her life. Todd's exp!aination has made me feel immense my better. I'm glad to hear Debbie believed in God. That encourages Mr that Debbie shared her faith with Carrie. It was also comforting to know that Debbie was not bereft when Carrie died. I had imagined her in terrible depths of grief. Thank you, Todd. I'm glad Billie has you in her life to depend on.

    DEBBIE and CARRIE had a unique relationship and DEBBIE was one of those rare women that raised two children in Hollywood and made sure they turned out to be good people. The addictions are suffered by people in many families and they were lucky to be decent loving and caring family. Let's hope Billie and Todd can settle things given time. No one said life is easy.

    He's always came off very cold to me. I believe Debbie was overwhelmed by the situation and it ended her life to loose Carrie.

    Both Leia and Carrie Fisher's mother "lost their will to live".

    The interviewer used the word excruciating. The only excruciating thing about this clip, with thee wonderfully composed Todd, was she. Nosily intrusive, with pseudo concern, there was nothing dignified or stylish about this conversation.

    Carrie Fisher to me will always be one of the greatest actresses she graced the Star Wars story made Lea hers and made Hon Solo putty in Lea's heart without Carrie I don't think Star Wars would be as great as it is and George might not have had success with it Carrie is a great actress I say is because as long as you can see her movies and guest appearances on shows she still lives
    God Bless
    Carrie

    Elizabeth Vargas says "She (Debbie Reynolds) willed herself to die." I think there are times when a network interviewer actually intrudes into the lives of the people being interviewed. I feel that this was too much drama that she was injecting into this report. She is prodding Todd Fisher to say things.
