Discussing the part in Brooks' Mother shows how smart Debbie Reynolds was. She also played Liberace's mother and mother on Will and Grace, but that must be subsequent to this interview. In this interview, she also discusses her latter marriages in a more nuanced way. Carrie Fisher had an interesting mother and Debbie Reynolds had an interesting daughter. I appreciate this interview of her!!!
In the 1980s and 90s, I was irritated with Larry King's political bias on TV and Radio. But, in hind sight, Larry really was one of the best celebrity interviewers.
What a delightful adorable woman she was! I wish Larry would have kept quiet more though. He interrupted her often when she was in the middle of a point that was promising to be interesting. The impressions killed me...when she did Meryl Streep I couldn't stop laughing.
A Mother's Love... Rest in Peace, Debbie Reynolds. Mourning your loss and that of your daughter, Carrie. Stars amongst the stars now. Prayers to the family. 😢
Debbie is so delightful here What a great personality She looks fabulous here. Debbie was marvelous. Debbie was an American Treasure. Debbie was so darn funny Her impersonations are fabulous. Did not know she did them Such a CLASSY lady she was. Eddie Fisher was crazy to leave her I would pick Debbie over Elizabeth Taylor anyday !!!! How could these Men be so STUPID TO HURT DEBBIE. UNREAL. What a catch Debbie is.
Debbie Reynolds was an extraordinary person, very real. I believed she did her best as parent, and mom. But as all of us deal with life , its tuff. She was very talented, very beautiful. She had two wonderful children, very talented. I thank God for her. Life is tuff. Much sadness. Eddie Fisher was a singer, that's it, unfortunately, he didn't realize what was in front of him. He seemed to hurt many. Maybe not on purpose, but he was selfish, he sang with such compassion, but he seemed to have none. Wow. So sad.
Debbie was amazing!!! Such a kind, loving person. I saw every movie she made. I wasn't so fond of Carrie Fisher though. She seemed very spoiled and always wanted it her way.
@@darkphoenix474 Just after 26 minutes she relates the manner and content of a conversation she had with Carrie. I don't think that was being held up as an impression. Later, she does a bunch of impressions that were vocal, following them at 38 minutes with one of mannerisms of Meryl Streep. Earlier, when discussing Carrie and Todd, she is cognizant that Carrie was friends with Meryl Streep. From elsewhere on clips, I had seen that Carrie Fisher also socialized with Albert Brooks. @@darkphoenix474 Uncanny! I wonder if anyone else had ever attempted Meryl Streep since she is famous for inhabiting different personas herself. Debbie Reynolds was observant. Association I make is nowadays Heidi Gardner of 2018 SNL does some characters captured by highlighting micro mannerisms for her technique.
she never had plastic surgery the woman is living proof of willpower exercise and the right frame of mind will get you farther in life then anything else
Amazing person, smart as a tack, never understood why she underestimated herself in singing, dancing and acting because she could do all three very well. She might not have been the best actress, the best singer, or the best dancer but if there was an oscar award for best entertainer, she would have won at least three times.
Not to mention how stunningly beautiful she was, with those eyes, and a seemingly preternatural wit. For sure, she would be WAY better company over the course of an evening at an Upper East Side bar than any of her contemporises, Taylor, Monroe et all. Misunderstood, and grossly overlooked, universally portrayed as as a dippy airhead, but she had way more charisma and intelligence than 99% of her contemporises, that is for damn sure. She was fully aware of herself and her profound beauty and capabilities, without showing the slightest sign of hubris or arrogance, and that's what makes her even more attractive than most others. I'm in love, a little bit too late methinks.
Such a class act. She established herself as a legend and went out just as much as a legend as she always was. God bless her for her many achievements.
Debbie, what a real living Doll, although she is old enough to be my mom ,anytime l never missed one movie of hers.there aren't any movies today that even come close to this little Doll. What amazes me l was a little kid and l remember Eddie fisher leaving her.l guess because l loved bundle of joy, some how l learn this dirt that he did this.l had no idea what life was all about, but l understood what happend.Debbie thank you for sharing your life with me,you have always been just precious, and doll you were adorable to the very end.god bless you and always keep you and Carrie safe.💞
I do not get it. If she could dance like that --- equal to the very best of the very best--(at least to an untrained eye)--in 3 to 6 months-----How could Kelly and O'Connor be "sooooo amazing , sooooo brilliant , noooo other talents in the world like them!"??
What an amazing soul, the world lost such a light.RIP sweet spirit. My condolences to all who loved Debbie and Carrie, may you find gentle healing."There is no death ,only a change of worlds"-Chief Seattle
Debbie was a true professional and a real trooper who worked hard all her life. She wasnt lucky with the men in her life who married her and betrayed her but Debbie's motto was 'brush yourself off and start again!' Her collection of MGM costumes and props was wonderful. When Carrie passed away, her son Todd said Debbie's last words before she died of a stroke were "I want to be with Carrie"...they are together now in a better place. RIP Debbie x
I havent seen Debbie for many years. Having seen her on many appearances now.. she was Vibrant, Funny and still Beautiful... Glad she is not around to see 2017 which I dont think is going to be a 'pretty sight'...
I sang Good Morning Good Morning the last two days....didn't know why. I loved the movie "Singing in the Rain". I was almost named Tammy due to her song. Taste in men....codependent? Celiac? Attracted Narcissists?
This was 20 years ago. Debbie had aged in recent years and did look older than this. Here she is around 64. Not 84. Still lookin good. Debbie's skin is gorgeous.
Of Women truly. My father John D was in love with Debbie. They were about the same age. Ironically my Mother Evelyn was in love with Perrie Como. She must of had one hundred Albums of Como in song . In 1996 I was still rather good looking Cat. Tell the truth I'd been p whipped like my father John & been honered to have touched such a wonderful heart as Debbie had been blessed with. I bet she was dyamite n love Air! Moreover, timing was the sole case scenario with any relationship someones of a man or men were blessed. Glad I took the time too listen into the long road history of Debbie's beautiful Mary's life story. Only N America, most exceptional a true example of American exccptionalism.
Debbie is so refreshingly honest and such a great lady; she must've had such a great family in her background. A real charmer and what a sense of humor she has!
I can't believe Debbie is 64 here. She seems to be in her early fifties. Or less. In How The West Was Won she was incredible as a teen growing to a 80's lady. That role and Tammy are my fav.
Let's hope there will be a miracle and they're children being born today carry on. Only N America... Let's keep the dreams & entertainment too powerful to buy off or better yet mugged by rich bullying thug's.
Love Debbie, cant stand Larry King interrupting all the time. He's really spoiling this! And so disrespectful rehashing those stories about Eddie Fisher! I wanted to slap him!
A very wonderful legend..and will be sadly missed..

Such a fabulous, intelligent, classy woman. RIP!
*Ah, Debbie! You left us!* You had to be with Carrie. 🌼💐🌼💐🌼
I could listen to her for hours, so funny, great story teller..
Wow, she looked virtually the same 20 years later.
I'm sure she had work done through the years, but it was done right and never altered her appearance. She always looked great.
SophiaPetrillosBuddy she aged beautifully! Rest in heaven
I loved Larry King's Show and I miss it.

Yep- her run of impressions was great in general, but that Streep was wicked and ingenious.
Rest in peace. You and Carrie Fisher will be missed greatly

She was so classy, beautiful, intelligent and really funny. The most soothing voice... There won't be stars like her anymore.
Those days are over with, sadly. The world would be better with stars like Debbie Reynolds. Hollywood today is dying off. No real talent. All evil.

Grew up watching her as Grandma Aggie from Halloweentown. Loved her daughter Carrie, R.I.P to both :(
The impression she did of her own daughter, Carrie, was right on. Lovely woman.
Can you note the minute mark?
Where does she do a Carrie impression?

Man.. Debbie Reynolds was a wholly unique, brilliant, sexy, funny, genius who.. kinda.. invented collecting memorabilia.

Debbie was talented.
I have a friend who went to Junior High with her in Burbank and he says she was always so talented and unaffected. He thought the world of her...

Her impersonations are perfect!!
Aged beautifullly ...... Narc.... Some
Shame on Larry King there…He could be very condescending. In all fairness it’s Debbie Reynolds.
She never disappoints..
l king is the worst interviewer- he constantly interrupting & his voice is unnerving/ how he was ever successful
what an amazing beauty you are debbie ❤️
So easy to see where Carrie got her wit... Debbie truly was a one-woman-show, even got Larry laughing uncontrollably
What was her third husband’s name? She is so talented! Her and Doris Day are two of my faves.
Debbie was Very Stong…it skipped a generation (eventhough Carrie was highly talented)..& now Billie Lourd is the one who gets it.
What a lovely human being.
she was the sweetest, nicest woman ever!
