adamthewoo I have had 2 come out to play in my house. I think he/she were about as freaked out as we were thanks to the dog trying to catch it. We finally got it back outside.
adamthewoo wow really small to wedge themselves into those cracks. I'm with you Adam on the time of year it is. Thinking bats don't move a lot in the winter
The Mexican free-tail bats migrate to South America in the winter. They are only in Texas from April through November. They are all pregnant females who come back to give birth. They sleep during the day and then fly out in a huge swoosh at dusk to eat. We have a few really good viewing sights here in Austin.
Ooooo pretty much any bridge in Austin is this way... I love the sound of bats under bridges...brings me back to when I lived with my dad. i just realized that sounds like my dad is Dracula.
I was too young to see Reality Bites when it came out but I vividly remember hearing its amazing mid-90s soundtrack on MTV back in the day, some of the songs of which I still listen to to this day, like Big Mountain's "Baby I Love Your Way" and Lisa Loeb's "Stay (I Miss You)". Pop classics!!!
Hoping you make to the DFW area. I'm sure you will find stuff I never knew about. Always looking forward to what you bring each day. thanks for sharing!!
Thanks for letting us know about Reality Bites, the movie. My sister and I would pass by that neighborhood all of the time, and we had no clue about that. Thanks for the quick fact!
Adam, when you go to Bodega Bay to see the filming location of the Birds there is a great KOA to stay in near by in Petaluma which was also the hometown of Winona Ryder at one point. Petaluma was formerly Egg Capitol of the World way back when.
I was in Austin for week right after Christmas time, we spent New years eve on Sixth Street, damn it was almost scary but we went to the Congress Bridge but no bats this time. Austin is awesome.
I had to comment cuz I can't believe you mentioned Reality Bites! It's basically in my top 10 of favorite movies and was a huge part of my youth! Got the soundtrack on tape somewhere. What a great surprise! So cool to see that location! Thanks Adam! :)
When you head to San Antonio ,,,between San Antonio and new Braunfels there is a place called the snake farm,, it's been there for ever ! Cool place to visit
It is always neat what people find to build their homes out of. I read recently about a mother and her kids who built their own house. That church is beautiful and I realized it was twelve years ago today it had burned. I had some trouble hearing the bats but, our little dog must have heard them because she went to the kitchen to investigate..
Yeah, the bats are seasonal.... they start flying out at sunset around July.... did you know those are all the male bats.... the females roost in the Bracken Cave system. I would LOVE to see it live, but have watched many times on videos. Oh and bat poop is guano and is a highly prized fertilizer. THANKS for the FANTASTIC vlog.... I just LOVE LOVE LOVE all the odd little places you find!
Wow... that location scout had to have either grown up or been passing by that apartment. That view was perfect back in 94...this just makes me realized how cluttered everything is now...the small house is gone, there's now a big building blocking the downtown view...but at least the complex still looks the same.
Hopefully youre going to Austin. In downtown same thing, a bizillion bats! Thanks Adam I love all the little places off the beaten path!! Got my WOO FIX for the day!!! Stay safe!!!
My mistake, not sure why I thought it was in/around Houston. I swear I once heard it was down around Passadena, TX that is or Stinkadena as it is called around Houston.
It's pretty cool when school folks are following your journeys, and I, as a Older folk to enjoy your eyes at what you bring Us, keep on keeping on Young Brother:) ~ Peace
Adam, I live a few blocks from the Waugh bridge Bat Colony (very well know here), which is right in front of the AIG building. Every night at dusk there are dozens of people waiting by the bridge and streams of bats fly out from under the bat bridge. That's THE place to see the bats if you are still here in Houston. Safe travels my friend, you're doing a a magnificent job.
LOL. I hear you man.!..Me and My girl watch at breakfast, every morning.,for years now......We were recently talking about,if one day he failed to post a video,, how we would be Totally distraught all day wondering about Adam.Seriously.
Good morning Adam!!! Hitchcock would DeFINITELY be proud of this vlog today! i have lived in Houston(well, Houston-ish) for the last 16 years, and I had no clue that half of these places existed! lol Thank you for doing what you do! By the way, have you decided when the Texas meet up will happen?
hey adam since your in Texas come by Waxahachie Tx , close to Dallas its where they filmed Places in the Heart and some scenes from Universal Soldier 2 in the abandoned Super Collider Tunnels...
Really love that Adam covers almost EVERYTHING he can when he travels. Houston / Texas is an amazing state and he's covered it well :D .....Lets hope he goes to the Texas flag birthplace as well
adam in austin texas under the south congress bridge there are a couple hundred thousand bats. when its dusk they fly out and it looks like a big huge black cloud. you should film that put it in the blog.. love you man your the greatest
I don't know if it's feasible but you might want to consider a small vehicle, that you can disengage the transmission, to tow behind your RV. Also, Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone, and Grand Tetons this spring?
Austin Texas is suppose to have the largest population of urban bats. There is an annual "bat cruise" on which you can go out on a boat near the Congress street bridge and watch the bats come out at dusk. I think that is in October. I heard last year the bats didn't come out as they usually do, maybe weather or other reasons.
Adam, if you go to Austin, you can watch the bats fly out from under the bridge at dusk. You can also buy bat-related souvenirs. Bat Boy would be proud.
You make your way to Austin you'll have to come to the Congress bridge it's the largest colony of those bats in the entire state over a million fly from the Austin bridge south around sunset. We even have bat fest every year that takes place on the bridge!! This time of year you are right though their active season is in the summer when you can watch them fill the sky.
Pamela Hicks Wow that's awesome, I don't know if we have those in Australia. The only ones I know of here are fruit bats that are HUGE and just eat fruit.
Bats ..come out to play
adamthewoo I have had 2 come out to play in my house. I think he/she were about as freaked out as we were thanks to the dog trying to catch it. We finally got it back outside.

Thank you ATW. I lived in Houston as a kid, and your vlogs are showing me things I've never seen before. Of course not just Houston, but all over.
I've always had this strange fascination with church buildings. That one is certainly unique! Very beautiful architecture. I'm glad you included that.
Its great to see these hidden Gems that you see off the beaten Track, thanks for showing us!
Watching TDW during my lunch break 👍🏼Yeahhhhhh!!!! 😃

ADAM YOU HAVE TO GO SEE THE FUNERAL HOME MUSEUM AND THE ART CAR MUSEUM
John Hecke I second the funeral home museum that sounds interesting
John Hecke I third the funeral home museum (if I get to view it through ATW's lens, it should be OK).
That throne in Smithers Park reminds me of Borat. "King of the castle, King of the castle, I have a chair, I have a chair" haha
Adam, when you go to Bodega Bay to see the filming location of the Birds there is a great KOA to stay in near by in Petaluma which was also the hometown of Winona Ryder at one point. Petaluma was formerly Egg Capitol of the World way back when.
Flashbacks to the Family Truckster in East St. Louis. Ask for directions Clark.
Adam, you take us to places on this planet we might never otherwise see.
Thanks for sharing Adam...!
I look forward to your videos every day.
Go to Austin Ann W. Richards Congress Avenue Bridge, that is supposed to be the biggest urban bat bridge. Though they may not be there either.
Ann Richards was a kick ass governor of Texas.
I was in Austin for week right after Christmas time, we spent New years eve on Sixth Street, damn it was almost scary but we went to the Congress Bridge but no bats this time. Austin is awesome.
There are some that stay for the winter, but most have migrated south. The best time to see the bats is from April to November.
Wow man you went right by my Apartment on Richmond and Hillcroft!!!! We love you Mr Woo.
Love your videos! Take care out there.
Thanks we sure enjoy your talents.
I had to comment cuz I can't believe you mentioned Reality Bites! It's basically in my top 10 of favorite movies and was a huge part of my youth! Got the soundtrack on tape somewhere. What a great surprise! So cool to see that location! Thanks Adam! :)

Wow... that location scout had to have either grown up or been passing by that apartment. The famous Footloose scene is down around Houston too.. That would be funny to see you dancing.
Justin which footloose? old or new? the older one was filmed in parts of Lehi Utah.
My mistake, not sure why I thought it was in/around Houston. I swear I once heard it was down around Passadena, TX that is or Stinkadena as it is called around Houston.
there is a possibility it could have been. I don't know if the whole movie was filmed in Utah. plus they did do a remake...
The remake was filmed in GA,Kennesaw and other various spots.
Oh okay. there still may be a possibility because I don't know all the places they filmed. only one or 2 spots.
It's pretty cool when school folks are following your journeys, and I, as a Older folk to enjoy your eyes at what you bring Us, keep on keeping on Young Brother:) ~ Peace
Awsome as always Adam.

That park looks awesome
Reminds me of where the "UP" house would have stood, the art looks like one big Jean Michele Basquiat painting.
Congrats on finding a parking spot good job !!!!
Your so freaking awesome Adam 😳
adam in austin texas under the south congress bridge there are a couple hundred thousand bats. when its dusk they fly out and it looks like a big huge black cloud. you should film that put it in the blog.. love you man your the greatest
The best way, the very best way to watch TDW is first thing in the morning! I pour a little daily woo in my coffee cup each day!
Another cool video by ATW, thanks man. I hear the inspiration for the house in the movie "UP" is in the Seattle area. That would be cool to see. 👍🏼
Spuds Mackenzie would be prouuuuuud of that beer can house!
WOW they sure have built up around the beer can house!
Mr. Woo, I was in WDW last week and spotted an entire family wearing "Adam The Woo" T-Shirts!!! They were in Tomorrowland. I thought it was cool.
At home sick today. PJs, coffee and the Woo. Already feeling a little better.
I don't know if it's feasible but you might want to consider a small vehicle, that you can disengage the transmission, to tow behind your RV.
Also, Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone, and Grand Tetons this spring?
"The Best Part of Waking Up is Daily Woo in Your Cup!"
Did anyone see the girl texting to the right of Adam at 13:32 to the end of the vlog? LOL. That's a lot of bats, Hitchcock would be proud!
jim ogle
I did! I did! I saw her, what do I win?
Hey,, yea,, we should win something!

I love your film location videos!! Gotta love Houston traffic huh?
Pamela Hicks I know I've been through a few times on my way to galveston and there is ALWAYS!! Some kind of back up.
Morning Adam!!!
Reality Bites had the best soundtrack!!!
Wasn't it just too early to see the bats? I don't think they come out til after dusk.
My friend, Winona is still my crush. My all time number 1. Great vlog.
It was nice to see her in Stranger Things last year, especially since it is set in the 80's.
sup adam love ur videos
Good morning Mr. The Woo!!!
I'm from Houston and never saw those places. I missed those hidden jewels.
Adam, if you go to Austin, you can watch the bats fly out from under the bridge at dusk. You can also buy bat-related souvenirs. Bat Boy would be proud.
Adam would you visit bodega bay if you revisit California? Hitchcock would be truly proud!
I love bats, I have no idea why but there's something about them that is adorable to me.
Pamela Hicks Wow that's awesome, I don't know if we have those in Australia. The only ones I know of here are fruit bats that are HUGE and just eat fruit.
While in Texas, go see USS Texas and USS Lexington.
You make "Living in a van down by the river" seem so fun.
