- History is a huge part of the Lone Star State’s pride and culture, and for those who also subscribe to the adage that everything’s bigger in Texas, David Adickes’s art studio in Houston is the perfect destination. Showcasing some of the most massive sculptures in all of America, the studio is an outdoor exhibition comprised of hand-sculpted busts of some of America’s most iconic former presidents.
David is a Texas treasure.
I drive by his studio, and have always noticed his art, but never knew this information. Awesome.
did David Adicks retire like he said? is his studio still there in 2022?
I love this channel

This is amazing! Who knew that David Adickes even existed let alone those marvelous sculptures? I sure hope there is, or will be, a video showing how those were done before it's over. It's something that really needs to be saved for posterity. A million thanks for sharing this!
Thank you for your great videos! I like Texas !
May I recommend a couple spots? The Walker Honey Farm just outside of Temple, Texas is a great place, easily my favorite honey farm in Texas. I always make a pit stop there when I'm driving into Austin. The Dallas Buddhist Temple is another great one, every Sunday they sell homemade Thai food from food carts. You already hit the Orchard in Idalou, which is one of my favorites.
There are a set of Presidential heads in Williamsburg, VA.
