+dethmaul Good at talking? Yes he is. Some people have the natural 'knack' for it. But the video was WAY too freaking long. Also, Fullsprectrum dude, 300 takes? Jesus, learn some film making details, would ya? Peter Jackson didn't even make people do 300 takes....
I watched this entire video and I don't even have an interest in ever doing this, but this tutorial was like one of the best guides I have ever seen on youtube. Very well done, I everyone who does guides like this on youtube could learn a lot from you. Very informative.
Bro, you are the most thorough, precise, exact, easy to listen and understand speaker have I ever heard. You need to be teaching or instructing something bigger than this and getting paid the big bucks. You are a natural speaker.
I spent two weeks watching your videos learning from you. I recently dipped a Kawasaki mean streak it was 20 degrees when I dipped it I kept my cans in a bucket of hot water and heat gunned every coat. I sprayed 8 coats did the first coat like you suggest. I did it in a matte black it took three spray cans and I'm absolutely amazed it even hid most the imperfections that was in the original paint. I even hit the bike up close with a hottsie it didn't hurt it a bit. Next time I do I'm gonna play around a bit thank you for the information this is a great product and you're a great teacher.
Young man you are very through in you instruction , I really like your videos just for that fact. I'm an old time designer and think what your putting out is a good thing. Your a heck of a businessman as well as a salesman and is much appreciated. As well as the knowledge you have that complements your desire to be successful, I think your are providing a good and useful knowledge of paint principles. I realize this video was made in 2015 and I'm just seeing it for the first time. None the least I hope that you have become successful from the knowledge that you have put out there for others to gleen from.
Ok so I admit I only watched this video because it auto played after another video I was watching and i'd robbed my mouse off of my desktop machine to plug into another PC real fast. Now that being said holy shit what a good instructional! I watched the whole damn thing and I have no interest at all in dipping my car. Nicely presented, sir.
hallis1 I couldn't understand why not, He did say it lasts like two whole years if you wash it with a powder puff & a Q- Tip! Not to mention it's such a short & uncomplicated process to apply.
REALLY impressive!! And this is probably one of the best instructional videos I've ever seen, you're doing a really good job explaining every step. Easy to understand, just great job!!
A lot of these tips are very similar to using paint for art or painting nails. I thought that was cool seeing art styles that seem so different but a lot of the same ideas! Thinking of dipping my own car soon!
Just wanted to say, Thanks for all the effort put into the video. Wow, would 3M ever do that, the answer is no. When a company takes, that much time out to produce a video of that detail and then offer even more indepth techincal support on there website, that's amazing. The biggest plus to your video is, the time and effort that goes into a job like this. The person, that walkes everyone through the steps, did a great job. The point was well driven that washing and taking the time to do it right, will let you obtain the finish your are looking for. Great job... Thanks, Bart
People like this make America what it is... He just gave you a job. You could watch this and make money every day. Great video, by the numbers pro all the way.
Help, I accidentally forgot to tape the windows and sprayed the entire windshield and rear window and all the side door Windows. I also accidentally opened the hood and sprayed my entire engine. Help
One of the best ( no b.s) DIY vids out there as far as Dipping and Plasti-spray application. That, and I will be using the same green on my 15 ram. Very well done man!!
You should drape the hose around your back and over your shoulder to prevent accidental contact when doing the roof or hood. It also takes weight off the back of the gun and makes it easier to keep the gun vertical.
First of all thanx for the vid, but what I really wanted to say is that the thing that stands out most for me is that u seem to really , and genuinely care about the customer. You take the time and care to explain every little detail that you could think of in order to help us out instead of just blasting through the process to just get-er done lol. I wish more companies or reps. would do this. Care like this can go a long way towards happy customers and a successful business. THANK YOU VERY MUCH....
That was a well presented video, I have no intention of dipping my car, probably cost more than the car did, but watched til the end because it was very interesting and very informative.
You are the master in what you doing! That's for sure😉 I live in Ireland and there is NO ONE to do the job like you do!!! Except for me😉 Your advices are just like in school which is great! YOU ARE THE BEST!!! Thank You
It’s crazy how similar it is to just latex house paint, realized that when you were talking about pulling tape when wet, latex can peel right off too if the surface wasn’t prepped, or even if it was sometimes, typically only when on gloss surfaces (sounds like plastidip on clear coat)
Wow. GREAT job simplifying this technique for the non-pros here! Your other PD vids are great too; while this one is extensive and "involved" bcoz of the extent of what is being PD'ed, the other vids are just as helpful for the smaller jobs. KUDOS!! ...and THANKZ!!! Great tips, from "Let the car dry a day after washing b4 PD'ing" to "Let the PD 'adhere' a week or 2 b4 washing"!!! Wow. Great job. Great vids.
Hello, pls. you never show how to peel off at emblem here I want to know how you did at: "5.0" on left side fender. Best time to peel off direkt after aply or do I have to wait...? How to peel off, do you use a knife or something else? How to avoid to peel off to much.... Pls. explain in detail! Thx, I appreciate your efforts, Michael
One thing I appreciate about your vids is your really cater to the amateur with no real experience. #1 problem with car based content I see, most of these shows (especially ones on TV) assume you have a lift, pneumatic tools, $10,000 worth of snap-on wrenches and an engine lift sitting in your 2 car garage at home. You understand that some guy is probably doing this to his car in his own garage that also has the kids bikes, the wife's SUV and those damn christmas decorations scattered around it lol. It's refreshing to see someone base their advice for you on reality and not the best case professional scenario.
Very informative video. Maybe you already have one, but I'd like something that shows what the majority of people are trying to do and fail, which is simply dip the car with nothing else color-wise. I didn't catch how far you should hold the sprayer from the car. In another video you made you explained that this is why a guy's job came out so bad (on the Avalanche) so I really need to know how to not be him. I was under the impression this was somehow different than regular painting but watching you spray just the initial coat didn't solve anything for me. I wanted to actually see you getting the color solid and level. I hope I get a reply I really want to do this. if not I'll just call and ask.
I will try to do my mustangs , watching your videos now gathering knowledge, I have been putting off quality paint jobs , due to cost , but I want try this dipping myself. You should be proud , you turn those cars into great looking ,head turner cars , a really cool skillful art .
All I can say is WOW, that’s one electric green paint job! It’s certainly gives me some serious thinking about. I’m looking to do a Chevy Astro into a beautiful blue colour. It would certainly save me a lot of money! Thanks for showing us this video of your technique for application. Wishing you all the very best wishes for the rest of 2019.
If you want to have different colors for different parts (i.e. black hood, black roof, black spoiler, rest green/yellow/blue/whatever) how would you go about doing that without mixing colors? Is it safe to tape over finished plasti-dip or do you run the risk of peeling the dip accidentally when removing the tape?
I purchased Gunmetal plastidip and to be honest it turned out to be really good and smooth. I followed every step and applied the plasti dip, and waited 36 hours for it to dry. After 36 hours, the color was nothing as advertised by the seller. The color that I got on my Jeep ended up being space grey, and was shockingly, drastically lighter then what is advertised. Following the disappointment, I contacted their customer service to report the issue and even I sent the pictures I took of the results to show them. Their response was "this is how it is supposed to be" even though it's a completely different color than the images the seller used on this website, the description of the color and so on. It is false advertisement. If this color was what I was expecting and what the seller was advertising, I would have definitely recommended it to my employees and friends. However, the results were terrible and not as expected at ALL.
hey Fonzie I am trying to find someone to Plasti Dip my house it has some kind of wood composite siding. will this work and are you interested in doing the job
Im not planning on dipping my car... I dont think i ever would... But i still thoroughly enjoyed this video... Very informative and entertaining, great job
+shocktop I was thinking that same thing. It looks like it was intentional, as the coated reflector can be seen in outline, but it is as green as Kermit.

@@82pixels if you've ever painted anything before, you should know that prep work is the most time consuming part, shitty prep work = shitty paint turnout
I am fascinated with this and would love to do my old poor looking Honda! I have been watching a lot of videos, but have not seen any problem solving ones yet. What if someone hits the car with their door, or a cat scratches the hood? are there any tricks to fixing it, or do you have to re dip?
16:39 Taped and Draped like a Savage! Lol for real though freaking perfectly cut great work. I will for sure recommend this video to anyone that I Know that's thinking of Dipping there cars. I'm going to in the future when I get my new car mostly so I can keep my paint fresh and it's cool that you can just tare it off and Dip it again. I like the new colors I've seen on this channel pearl colors and metallic colors. Also there's another one I forgot the name looks amazing though it's like a glossy color I know I saw it in some of your most recent videos.
haha i guess i created an oxymoron there, i guess my car is around the value youd plastidip things at, im probably just too happy with the paint on my car now, its the color i wanted since i was like 5 (world rally blue).doing it on a beater type car wouldnt be worth the money though thats for sure
since you didn't cover the 5.0 emblem, I assume you painted over it so my question is, how did you remove the dip from the surface of the emblem? Thanks. other than that it was a pretty solid tutorial.
I was searching through the comments to see if anyone else noticed this!!! At the very end I was like hang on... he didn't peel those, then started gaslighting myself and rewound to check if they were in fact reflectors to start with, then went back to the end. Seems all the reflectors were painted over, the front back and sides.
I've plasti dipped my car, and here's a problem that I've had, is that prep time is a must, but after mine has been done for couple weeks, it's that dirt stains it bad. And dust , I've used a soap and brush and it doesn't come off, so don't look for this stuff to look good long if you drive a lot ,
What about door jams? i know a two color could sometimes be cool but.... White door jams ( that extend to the interior [Mercedes GLA 45 AMG] ) with Satin black exterior? i think that would be ugly
This is amazing! You don't use that plastidip anymore right? Could you possibly do an updated version of this with the stuff you use now? I would greatly appreciate it I am really Interested in doing this to my vehicle
+Zac Craze Dipping allows someone to change the color of any part of their car themselves, at home, for a very affordable price. It protects the factory paint, and is extremely durable. Leave it on as long as you like, then peel it off when you want to change back to the original color.
Thanks for all the great videos! I just got intense teal from you guys currently dipping my car now. Everything going great! Just a little disappointed since i didn't got the DYC decals to represent you guys and also i didnt got the plastic to wrap the windshield and windows so i had to run to the store...
This cats incredibly good at talking. Not awkward or stumbly at all. I know its edited segments put together, but it flowed very well.

Why do you need a respirator? I have been dipping for years and I feel perfjolmk.;'''
Sorry, passed out and slammed my head on the keyboard - but I feel perfectly fine.
Oh rly bruh
Your profile pic works perfectly with that lol!!
Hahahah!
Serious Business fuck the respirator. How are you supposed to spit when you're dipping hahaha
Come a long way since doing the first tutorials in the driveway. Congrats Fonzie and congrats all of the DYC team and company. You guys are awesome.
A lot of these tips are very similar to using paint for art or painting nails. I thought that was cool seeing art styles that seem so different but a lot of the same ideas! Thinking of dipping my own car soon!

I’m here from the donut media channel and you made a special appearance. I am now a fan!
Help, I accidentally forgot to tape the windows and sprayed the entire windshield and rear window and all the side door Windows. I also accidentally opened the hood and sprayed my entire engine. Help
you dumbass
Finish the job and spray the interior also
Open your gas cap and spray all your remaining dip into it
Dude how dumbass can you be

One of the best ( no b.s) DIY vids out there as far as Dipping and Plasti-spray application. That, and I will be using the same green on my 15 ram. Very well done man!!
Wooowww nostalgia, remember watching these videos as a young kid back in 2016. I miss being young🙁
You should drape the hose around your back and over your shoulder to prevent accidental contact when doing the roof or hood. It also takes weight off the back of the gun and makes it easier to keep the gun vertical.
I’m a newbie to your channel, but really in enjoyed the video
First of all thanx for the vid, but what I really wanted to say is that the thing that stands out most for me is that u seem to really , and genuinely care about the customer. You take the time and care to explain every little detail that you could think of in order to help us out instead of just blasting through the process to just get-er done lol. I wish more companies or reps. would do this. Care like this can go a long way towards happy customers and a successful business. THANK YOU VERY MUCH....

I’ve watched this entire video, and I only have one question…..How long does it take for a coat to dry?
Probably the best instruction video on UA-cam!
That was a well presented video, I have no intention of dipping my car, probably cost more than the car did, but watched til the end because it was very interesting and very informative.
It's only like $300-$400 dollars.
Cool, unfortunately i do not live in the States, otherwise it may have been something i would of considered.
Where?
I have $3K and want to start doing this as a side gig, BUT I have never done this before. Wish me good luck 😥💪🏼
Did it work? Lol
I’m curious too. Is it going well?
You are the master in what you doing! That's for sure😉
I live in Ireland and there is NO ONE to do the job like you do!!!
Except for me😉
Your advices are just like in school which is great!
YOU ARE THE BEST!!!
Thank You
Forget Plastidip .. Do you have a workout DVD????
Hahaha
wow you are stupid
England is my city and no I'm not from compton
Right? Dudes arms are huge.
Ya it’s called I train biceps 4 days a week
Will this give my car more horsepower?
Yes +50bhp

This is great for covering up all the swirls and scratches you put in from washing with the brush
Hahaha I had the exact same thought.
Thx, I appreciate your efforts, Michael
high pitch 'dip' at 33:26 lol
Worth it lol
Thanks😂
I can die happy now lol thank you
Great job! Your best advice was telling people not to rush..Too many auto jobs are ruined by people getting impatient!
Why did you spray over the front, side and rear safety reflectors? What happens when you spray the plastic dip on the door locks?
Thinking long and hard about dipping my 2001 Eclipse

I used to have an eclipse. Great car, but you couldn't look directly at it.

Can I plasti-dip my biceps?
+Nippy Preet
Who hurt you?
Nippy Preet sounds like you have the experience...
the answer isn’t no
@@orlandovillalba6157 thanks. I've been waiting 4 long years for answers
For this to be the first comment I saw has me in tears today 😹🤧
I will try to do my mustangs , watching your videos now gathering knowledge, I have been putting off quality paint jobs , due to cost , but I want try this dipping myself. You should be proud , you turn those cars into great looking ,head turner cars , a really cool skillful art .
Holy crap.. Am I the only one who noticed how big his arms were 😂😂😂
"Do you even lift bro?"
LUKAZ G definitely not the only one.
Then your gay because you only notice he's arms lol
Frankly, I looks on his big arm to. But i'm not a gay.
LUKAZ G Guy works out,so what? He isn't flexing or nothing. And calling him a douce just for being in shape really shows your insecurities kiddos.
Pomona Bill Art is a good guy - kinda cuddly when you really get to know him. No need to be scared hehe
Great video! Very instructional and goes through all the necessary steps
All I can say is WOW, that’s one electric green paint job! It’s certainly gives me some serious thinking about. I’m looking to do a Chevy Astro into a beautiful blue colour. It would certainly save me a lot of money! Thanks for showing us this video of your technique for application. Wishing you all the very best wishes for the rest of 2019.
i accidentally plasti dipped my neighbours prius.
pier99francesco Hopefully in a poop-looking paint. Yea?
pier99francesco LMFAO, How do you "ACCIDENTALLY" dip a car? Haha you sir made my day :)
pier99francesco Then I accidentally peeled it.
+pier99francesco I bet it has 100 more HP now though.
+150 hp*: I added a nismo sticker.
Sounds like a problem with the seller, not Plasti Dip.
Did you purposely not mask the front and rear side marker lenses?
cosmicmoxa Yeah I think he painted over the front turn signals.
CurseTheDawn and the little reflectors on the lower rear and the ones on the rear quarter panels lol 😂
cosmicmoxa I was thinking why he didn't mask the reflectors at the rear and door locks.
cosmicmoxa It just peels off, the same way the dip peels off of the 5.0 emblem.
Without masking it tears off.
hey Fonzie I am trying to find someone to Plasti Dip my house it has some kind of wood composite siding. will this work and are you interested in doing the job
you know what is the best thing i like in this video?! .. there is no noisy music here.
You missed the 5.0 emblems did you cover those or just spray over an get a sharp pin and outline and peel?
And not only that. Few front indicators and on sides
Are you able to apply vinyl graphics over top of the dip coat once cured?
-Viper
Im not planning on dipping my car... I dont think i ever would... But i still thoroughly enjoyed this video... Very informative and entertaining, great job
Do I need any of this if I have VTEC yo?
If I'm only driving my car 10 times a year and it lives in a garage will the dip last longer then 2 year? Thanks
I love that beautiful green color !
That Mustang looks fabulous !
Excellent job !
Great video !
Will engine heat mess with plastidip. melt off bubble etc
Do you have to sand down sun damage before spraying the car?
Yes that would be necessary or else you will see those damages in your after look after you sprayed.
I used Hyperdip on my wheels yesterday (first time using it) and it came out perfect. I'm addicted and want to paint my entire car.
I can't stop staring at his biceps...
I know right gorgeous
His veins were staring right at me.

Uhh, at 25:57, shouldn't that reflector be taped off?
it's not necessary, it'd be easy to peal, nice find tho!

I was thinking that same thing. It looks like it was intentional, as the coated reflector can be seen in outline, but it is as green as Kermit.

Looking to change out my electric yellow mustang. I'm diggin' this!
Impressive and inspiring video ... Great work bro love from india ❤️😘😘😘
you have to wash it every week? what about is that live up in the Pacific Northwest where it rains constantly for 9 months of the year?
if you were here for the spray part, he starts spraying 22:00. thank me later

Would like to know what he is talking about for over 20 minutes before he starts spraying tho :D

I am fascinated with this and would love to do my old poor looking Honda! I have been watching a lot of videos, but have not seen any problem solving ones yet. What if someone hits the car with their door, or a cat scratches the hood? are there any tricks to fixing it, or do you have to re dip?
Smartest comment yet!
I was really considering plasti dipping my car right up to "it only last 2 years" what a let down
Well it only cost around $500 for me, but real paint job thing is about 3k and damage from diy is possible.

When u u start a plastic dip project does the vehicle have to be have a complete paint job or it can be primer
Issac Aceves You can dip right over primer.
Thank you keep up the great vids
*****
Issac Aceves Thats a great question. I have also wondered that.
+M7xR55 I've got this funny feeling he wasn't looking to be berated like that.
Fuck the car, will plasti dip make me have arms like you haha.
No but the gym will. Easy solution
"easy"
he need to work on his triceps as it looks like he only hit biceps in the gym
Bill Jammin balloons? lmao
This video is still fun to watch 4 years later.
i wouldnt ever dip my car, but this is cool, and definitely worth considering if you have something nice or show car ish,
If you have a nice car and that much money just pay a professional to do this.
haha i guess i created an oxymoron there, i guess my car is around the value youd plastidip things at, im probably just too happy with the paint on my car now, its the color i wanted since i was like 5 (world rally blue).doing it on a beater type car wouldnt be worth the money though thats for sure
Revamptheindustry I would only do this to a beater.

V6 Mustang Owners - *heavy breathing*

#regularcarreviews
hahaha op comment wins! Can't plastidip the truth away.
thanks for the lol, I was thinking but you said it.
its a 5.0
Been watching video's about dipping for a while now. I think I'm finally sold. Now just to pick a color...
since you didn't cover the 5.0 emblem, I assume you painted over it so my question is, how did you remove the dip from the surface of the emblem? Thanks. other than that it was a pretty solid tutorial.
Tweezers
X-acto knife the edges and peel it off.
You dont...
you score and peel . masking is not so important as with normal paint.
Drinking Game: Everytime he says the word(s) dip/dipped take a shot/drink. Have fun, you won't remember shit.
Clever guy, and what a car! Looks good in any colour! Well done super job.
Someone is skipping neck day
Lmao
ObiJuan Kenobi oh my Gucci
😂😂😂 I was like what? then I looked up🤦♀️
Why be a douche and make stupid ass judgmental comments. You’re part of the problem with today’s society.
I noticed you dip'd over the front and rear side markers/reflectors, I'm assuming that was intentional. Was it?
Bro make another video on how you got them guns so big
Appreciate your effort. When I heard THOROUGHLY wash your car, didn't expect a broom.
Would this work on my house
John Barnes you'll need a lot of it
John Barnes . Yes it does. Is there anything else you want to ask?
Why would you want the paint to peel off of your house?
yep and would work well as a water barrier. just make sure the wall or wood underneath is dry first else you trap the water in :)
John you can plastic coat dip anything. You just need to have enough of the product.
help i got the cone filter stuck in my ass :(
Adolf Hitler i can hear the whoosh farts from oz
This is salvageable, just take the dip and pour it through the filter. Youll also has to put the stirring rod up there to mix it around
This is amazing! You don't use that plastidip anymore right? Could you possibly do an updated version of this with the stuff you use now? I would greatly appreciate it I am really Interested in doing this to my vehicle
'So were going to cover everything we need to do, the car we are gonna use our DYC Mustang" *Looks outside window, stares at my Cobra*
You meant Civic I’m sure. 😉
does the turbine come with the pro car kit?
Yes it does
+DipYourCar Why do people do this to their cars?
+Zac Craze Dipping allows someone to change the color of any part of their car themselves, at home, for a very affordable price. It protects the factory paint, and is extremely durable. Leave it on as long as you like, then peel it off when you want to change back to the original color.

interesting...my brother is car guy...I will mention this to him and see if he would do it to one of his cars...
Nikki Lynn
what color?
You can use DAWN dishwashing soap. That stuff is great for removing wax , grease and dirt .
No tf you cant and better not. Definitely strips your clear coat
Dude is jackedd
+MrCube17 That Plasti dip works wonders!
Am I the only one who finds it funny looking, when the head of a person is hardly bigger then his biceps?
Thanks for all the great videos! I just got intense teal from you guys currently dipping my car now. Everything going great!
Just a little disappointed since i didn't got the DYC decals to represent you guys and also i didnt got the plastic to wrap the windshield and windows so i had to run to the store...
