I think the same thing every time he gives that look. He always looks like that kid whose parent is saying, “Don’t you dare!” And the kid keeps reaching inch by inch towards the forbidden object or goal.

gotta admit i thought you were totally psycho with that much black betty 🤪🤪 but the matte finish not withstanding it came out awesome !! i love the old school look of gloss looking like it is so deep you would fall in but i tip my hat to ya Fonzie it is a winner !! and yes i give it a 5

Dude... video not a mess. I think you're giving more depth to the channel with the "drama" and what a lot of the general community thinks in their head. Honestly, videos should be more like this
Just watching each bag of the black get added reminded me of art school color mixing for projects. When going for a super dark color, start with the black and slowly add the color until you get the color you're looking for has been a good approach from what I learned.
That is what I was thinking additionally a purple very thinned out over the black starter base could have been awsome

100% agree, start with black Betty base and add your color slowly until satisfied.
This is EXACTLY how I felt when I painted my GTO. Wanted a midnight purple with fleck, ended up using a dark purple fleck, and then applying tinted clear on it until it was DARK!!!
I wouldve done the 125 to 50 and put more coats but the 150 looks pretty sweet. RATE: 4 And the mixing session was hilarious! Loved it!!

I was hoping you would choose the HKS. For me, most purples run too much to the red/pink side.
The only thing I love more than how it looks, is the look Gabe gives the camera when he's at a loss for words when Fonzie goes crazy with the pigments 😂. Like a parent watching their kid go crazy with the sugar in kool-aid or something lol!
OMG! 5-5 . I love the way this brings out the lines and contours of the body. Not only that but it's subtlety. Nice job. Would love to see some variations on this theme. Still hoping for a round two on the gradient base coat that you guys did a couple of weeks ago.
I love it. 5 all the way. This was my favourite to watch too, just you pushing one packet after another to get what you wanted. Would love to see more like this, and even this colour combo again with even more black.
I love the matte finish too.
The way Fonzie looked at Gabe while adding more Black Betty reminds me exactly of how my cat looks at me when I catch him about to knock something off a counter and he pauses and then decides to knock it off anyway right in front of my face 😂 It looks good though! 4.5, but just because the end result seems to lean a touch more blue than I’d prefer but it still looks really nice.
I give this a solid 5. I’m not a fan of the color purple but this even I can live with. The look on his face putting the last two bags of black Betty in was like a kid trying to sneak the last cookies from the bag without mom seeing. It paid off beautifully. I would like to see more videos where we get to choose what top coat, base coat, and pearls that are used. I’ve been hoping for a car that uses valcanic red for awhile as a base. Please give it a try! 🙏

I’d love to see you guys try to come up with a match for some OEM dark purples, Porsche’s amethyst metallic, Audi’s Merlin Purple, or the Corvette’s Black Rose
Id like to add to the list. A very left field vehicle but awesome color is the Dark Rosewood Pearl that came on the 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Iris blue metallic from the early 90s is also a good one to have fun with! Some purple Pearl in a clear coat definitely does some things for it

Definite 5 out of 5 for that color. And a matte finish really suits modern Audis. Throtl just wrapped their grey RS4 in satin PPF and it looks amazing, because it highlights all the beautiful body creases sculptural edges more than a gloss finish does. This is gorgeous and it looks amazing with the wheels!
One note: I would have liked to have seen a composite on screen of all of the sticks of truth, so I could have seen how the color changed as you added more and more black. Great finished product!
What a sleek, clean, expensive looking color. Would love to see you mix a 3 to 1 ratio for red, green, etc.
1) I’m with ya 100% on the matte finish, Fonz!! I’ll be doing that on my truck at some point relatively soon.
2) I literally laughed loud as hell when you threw that 150g load of Black Betty into the mix, LOVED IT!!
3) this turned out perfect! I can’t see any way it would have come out any sexier a purple, I’d even call it Sinister Plum if I were to name it

I want that but dark green. Not that I'm not in love with what you've done: that's the best purple I've ever seen, and I love purple. I also love how it works with the indicators and tail-lights - they accent the purple perfectly!

This is ok, solid 3. I think you would have gotten a more menacing look if you did a could layers of a black candy clear coat over the HKS or even a super dark purple candy over the HKS.

When he put that last bag of black in, i was sure he was messing up! It looked way too dark, but, the end result was amazing, I really liked the final look of the car. It was still plenty of purple and not a black car with purple hues. Definitely a 5+
Oh, damn... absolute 7 out of 5. I ADORE purples, so I knew this would be good, but it gets all time top 5 now... and yes, the Matte finish is flawless with this color. Badass.

At the 8 minute mark I was definitely agreeing it was not dark enough. Then you added a bag and I thought it was perfect until you pulled the stick out. Then you added another bag and it looked really good... Then you added the last bag and I thought... PERFECT! Haven't finished the video but I hope it turns out perfect ON THE CAR!
I love the matte dips! And this came out like a dark purple you would see around Halloween I absolutely love it and would dip my jeep xj exactly like this! 5/5 LET GO!
A 4. I personally loved the color and was very surprised how awesome the matte looked. It would be a 5 but wasn't as dark as described. Hint: Next time start with a small load of Black Betty and then add in the lighter color. Will look forward to seeing you try that.

Now you have to do the other purple pearls too. The same ratio you did this one. Do all three in small scale. And make a 4th where you mix all three purple. Go crazy! I'd love to see that!

I think little bit of purple to the base and black matt coat will be faaar faaaar better.
@@Piasecznik72 Exactly, that purple pearl is so strong, takes a lot to drown it out. But as theyve shown in the past, can tint the black pretty easily

Enjoying watching the transformation and colors of the pigments as much as the natural charm and charisma of the narrator. Not to mention the way his muscles bulge in his tight tshirts, the beautiful way grey speckles his beard and hair like car paint, or enormous, muscled arms that look so mechanical because of how shredded he is hehe... and his voice is so soothing even when he throws a stick down it's at once calming and stimulating... 5 out of 5 if you'll permit me to be so brash. And how his hips jostle from side to side to emphasize what he's saying. I'd love to see him frustrated

I am in love. That purple is awesome. A raw matte purple, I would love to do this to my car and hit the rims with some pearl shift purple to blue to green. Fonzie keep going with your gut, in the end you didn't disappoint us.
I'd give it a 4. It is gorgeous but as you said "i want a dark menacing midnight purple" I think it falls about 2 or 3 gradients short. Again I do like it though. Well done.
