My family owns a graphic design and sign company and we occasionally wrap cars for market promos. The fingering issue was something I never could resolve until now. This guy really is the true master in his craft.

I wrapped the hood of my 2002 Black F-150 about a year before I sold it. The paint on the good was not looking so good due to the clear coat milking up for some reason. I wrapped the hood with gloss black vinyl one afternoon. I told a few people but not many knew it was wrapped. This was my first wrap and I did a pretty good job of it. When I went to sell the truck I told the new owner about the wrap before he bought the truck. He liked it and bought the truck. 3 years later it still looks good from what the new owner says. The wrap cost me about 45 bucks and about 2 hours of time. If that hood wasnt wrapped I know the new owner would of tried to talk me down much more than he tried.
Very interesting. I use some of the same methods when installing headliners or seat upholstery in classic vehicles. Often they need some relief cuts, pulling in certain directions based on wrinkles etc. Great video!

@@tubixtz It means *exactly* that. Reducing anything by 100% means you have nothing left. You've removed 100% of it - it's gone, not there, lost, finished, all over, the end. Reducing it *to* 100% would mean it had previously been increased by a certain amount, which is now being removed again, leaving 100% of the original item. So, what Steven said is quite correct. Of that, you can be 100% sure.
@@k1ng401 Yep, but if he *had* decreased it by 100%, he could have, more or less, charged more for it - just not 100% more.😁 It would have made life *so much* easier if he just sprayed the ******* car.
Why does youtube recommend this stuff. IT'S A WRAPPING CONTEST, I WAS WATCHING A STREET FIGHTER TOURNAMENT HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE ??!! i did watch the full video though :P
Its quite interesting to me that hes using triangles. I work in the industry of 3d modeling, and polygons/triangles are the norm. And I just love the idea that theres this convergence of concepts here. The use of triangles is quite clever as its quite realistic for how to cover a surface that has complex geometry.
To me it is one of the most logical things out there. It is just an extension of sacred geometry and in a sense our whole universe is built in that manner. If you know the way broadly, you can see it in all things.
Justin, Mike from Central Michigan area. Is it possible that wrap a car that has been sanded smooth and epoxy primed only? Or would I need the have the car sprayed with urethane clear coat for the adhesive to adhere to all surfaces? Your expert reply would be appreciated.
👍⭐️😍I’m probably never gonna wrap a car (or anything else) in my life but I watched this whole entire video. But with this 2020 pandemic...who knows maybe I’ll start wrapping cars. 😂🤗💞🤗
I raged so hard just trying to wrap a hardtop. He picks up the vinyl with ease, that's not the case with cheap vinyl. I just wanted to practice, but fuck I don't have the money to fuck around with 3M vinyl wrap and toss it out when I mess up.
People who are good at anything always make it look easy ,but trust me when you try it won't be .he will be doing this every day and that helps so much so I may try a small job 1st get good at that then move on,don't go and spend lots of cash on tools and wrap before you can do a small job.get the right tools for the job but don't buy the best then see how you go.🇬🇧👍
Had never watched anything to do with wrapping before, what a super cool guy. Normally when you see someone offering a way to make money it’s total BS and just a way to get you to give them money. It’s rare that someone would share a genuine talent and encourage others to go try it and make money for free or even through subscription.
Very similar concept to working with tint films with the four quadrant...of course, vinyl seems much easier to handle as you can pull & stretch! Thank you for this!
@@kindafast6499 Uses it on the door handles relief cuts all over. what you talking about lol. he literally used on the very spot he said he wouldnt when he cut the reliefs in. To be fair tho he does mention hes using the plastic bladed knife when cutting around the bonnet.
well no shit it comes out nice, cause that is some ultra high quality shit vinyl there! The vinyl i had to work with was as scary as touching fire! If that wrapped touched the car the wrong way you already fucked up. but this guy is just moving it around like if its just a frekin blanket wtf!? what brand is it!?!?
merkflip the increase in speed is 100% fool. If you're doing something and it takes you 2 hours at 100% speed, then you do the same thing with a partner and it takes both of you 1 hour at 100% speed the increase is 100% for a total of 200% cus you're doing it twice as fast
once the wrap is bonded on, it will not shrink or stretch? What about direct sunlight in the summer time when it's about 120°? The material will not lift on the door handle?

I wanted to put my room together ...
I wanted to... Fk I don't even remember... maybe some work...? Check out Lumilor paint I got stuck watching that before this... Damn maybe I shouldn't have had that half litre red bull 3 hours before my bed time. I got to be up soon!
did you ever root it? I have one and could never get a stable build
God i love youtube, i always come here looking for a particular type of video about painting or building
but i always end up finding something awesome to watch and end up learning something new
Dunno how i got there, but i learnt how to pick a lock using 2 boby pins, which actually worked bahahaha
I'm a spray painter in my free time, but i'm definitely gonna try wrapping after watching this!
" What makes wrapping a car difficult? " An audience of zombies.

Fam I began with a Gerber Signmaker 4B. Truly informative video for those who are not only interested but love this ART.
Truly Awesome.
"Reduced his time by 100%"!? That means....... he didnt even do it!
no, that does not mean that. the key word is "by" - not "to".
Fuck I love UA-cam comments!
I 100% pissed my pant laughing!!
Yeah he meant reduced by 50%. If he had INCREASED the time from 8 to 16 then he would have increased by 100%
@@k1ng401 Yep, but if he *had* decreased it by 100%, he could have, more or less, charged more for it - just not 100% more.😁
It would have made life *so much* easier if he just sprayed the ******* car.
Let's drink every time he says "OK" ...Drunk in the first 3 minutes! Mad Skills Bro!
*Nggkay
Hilarious
it’s mkay
I watched him many times. I honestly love him and his way of wrapping
I am still puzzled how I ended up here and still proceded to watch the whole video
Tension....
Mmmkay?
28:08 oh no...
dude, that guy in the mustard colored pants..............
Yeah but he saved it
Lmao
Oh no?? What?? Did I miss something?
Luumpch
The way this guy explains things is beautiful.
Why does youtube recommend this stuff. IT'S A WRAPPING CONTEST, I WAS WATCHING A STREET FIGHTER TOURNAMENT HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE ??!! i did watch the full video though :P
Maybe it was interpreting it as a rapping contest
Yah I was watching a video about medieval architecture. wth
Lady at 6:16 with pink phone looks like she was thinking "where the fuck am I? I don't think this is beautycon...." lmfao!!!!!
Giovanni Solano lol
Giovanni Solano

Giovanni Solano ....ahahahahahahahahahaha
Its quite interesting to me that hes using triangles. I work in the industry of 3d modeling, and polygons/triangles are the norm. And I just love the idea that theres this convergence of concepts here. The use of triangles is quite clever as its quite realistic for how to cover a surface that has complex geometry.
To me it is one of the most logical things out there. It is just an extension of sacred geometry and in a sense our whole universe is built in that manner.
If you know the way broadly, you can see it in all things.
Guys, make sure you check your Facegram. You might learn something.
No idea what you mean... I am on Instabook
100%
What kind of wrap is it I bought one and it looks more thicker then the one you using
EXTRA THICC
that is not a bad idea create a social media site named facegram LOL

"Nobody has ever called me their lovely assistant before 😁"
Justin, Mike from Central Michigan area. Is it possible that wrap a car that has been sanded smooth and epoxy primed only? Or would I need the have the car sprayed with urethane clear coat for the adhesive to adhere to all surfaces? Your expert reply would be appreciated.
Never wrapped anything in my life but this gave me the confidence to try my own car 😂
Don’t just don’t it’s a lot more difficult than it looks buddy
if I had a nickel for every time he said "mkay" I'd be able to buy one of those cars...
Mkay
right
The fingering issue is something my Mrs helped me out with. Now she loves it when I need to do the fingering
👍⭐️😍I’m probably never gonna wrap a car (or anything else) in my life but I watched this whole entire video. But with this 2020 pandemic...who knows maybe I’ll start wrapping cars. 😂🤗💞🤗
“Thank you all! Have a great luumppch”
28:06
Bro, have a great lump
Possibly the best tutorial I’ve watched, thanks man.
i install solar panels for Tesla and i am never going to wrap a car in my lifetime, but after 30 minutes of watching this i must.
StayWild Give me some free panels and I'll wrap with you. ;)
I really think Tesla Solar should acquire Sunpower just for their panel tech
What makes wrapping a car difficult? EBAY vinyls
Chris Lee dood for reallll hahahaha
I raged so hard just trying to wrap a hardtop. He picks up the vinyl with ease, that's not the case with cheap vinyl. I just wanted to practice, but fuck I don't have the money to fuck around with 3M vinyl wrap and toss it out when I mess up.
yeah the backing paper removal here is only possible with Avery not even with 3M
@@GItoKeG Hahah :)
@Mike Studmuffin I prefer lost mold casting or woven plastic.
Just me.
Amazing techniques, I have never done it but I’m planning to try it and see what it turns out like. Thanks
The word he's looking for is quadrant.
Not exactly no. The word he's looking for is triangle. Quadrant describes only the 4 spots in the middle.
Ol boy’s face when he gets called the lovely assistant🤣🤣🤣 somebody tell this man’s wife to throw more compliments lmao
He said his work shop improved wrapping time by 100%. What does that mean? Do the cars wrap themselves instantly?
This dude sounds like a South Park character with the constant “ok” & “alright”
HAHA thank you I thought I was alone. I was thinking of Mr.Mackey at every Mkay I heard
"and I'll hand it to my lovely assistant..."
Assistant: :)
great video. any time you get to see a master of any craft at work there is something to be learned. glad i watched it
He makes it look easy
People who are good at anything always make it look easy ,but trust me when you try it won't be .he will be doing this every day and that helps so much so I may try a small job 1st get good at that then move on,don't go and spend lots of cash on tools and wrap before you can do a small job.get the right tools for the job but don't buy the best then see how you go.🇬🇧👍
with this cold wrapping technique i am going to wrap a roof for the first time
Had never watched anything to do with wrapping before, what a super cool guy. Normally when you see someone offering a way to make money it’s total BS and just a way to get you to give them money. It’s rare that someone would share a genuine talent and encourage others to go try it and make money for free or even through subscription.
When he said "as a wrapper" i thought he meant "rapper" and I was like wait what?
10/10 supa hot fire would recommend
18:10 Unbelievable!!! The film is back to its original state.
İnanılmaz!!!
We call It a "Marty Mc Fly effect"
Very similar concept to working with tint films with the four quadrant...of course, vinyl seems much easier to handle as you can pull & stretch! Thank you for this!
All those percentages %%%%
I must take a lesson with him!
4:34 "I never use my knife when I'm working on a car" ... uses a knife in the rest of the video. Lol?
When hes cutting the large chunks off. Pay attention.
@@kindafast6499 Uses it on the door handles relief cuts all over. what you talking about lol. he literally used on the very spot he said he wouldnt when he cut the reliefs in. To be fair tho he does mention hes using the plastic bladed knife when cutting around the bonnet.
best wraping video so far for me on net....respect from Pakistan man....
well no shit it comes out nice, cause that is some ultra high quality shit vinyl there!
The vinyl i had to work with was as scary as touching fire! If that wrapped touched the car the wrong way you already fucked up. but this guy is just moving it around like if its just a frekin blanket wtf!? what brand is it!?!?
3M
+THE DATA LORD close. It Avery Dennison.
My mom owns a pretzel truck in NY.
Scotch
As he said in the video it is Avery brand vinyl
16hrs to 8hrs is definitely 50%
Increase in speed of accomplishing the task is 100% though.
fruitydudexD no, 50%. do the math
merkflip the increase in speed is 100% fool. If you're doing something and it takes you 2 hours at 100% speed, then you do the same thing with a partner and it takes both of you 1 hour at 100% speed the increase is 100% for a total of 200% cus you're doing it twice as fast
His comment made me question every number. “Stretched 10%”. Or 4%. How much did it really stretch?
He clearly said "A reduction in install time by 100%", not "added 100% to his speed". If you reduce something by 100% it becomes 0.
How long do these wraps last on a car? And, what is the difference in price if you had it painted vs wrapping? Thank you!
invented in America , then Germany, then Japan..." he does not understand what invention means.
okleydokley it's called multiple discovery, pretty common occurrence. Especially before the internet
He was talking about techniques.
Str8 4ward careful, almost cut myself on that edge
Another nugget, "went down a 100% from 16 to 8 hours" dude I know you mean well but that's not how it works.
@yeahjustlikethat - i was like what .. 🤣🤣🤣
I follow this guy instruction now I make 2k every wrap job no lie
is the material that he is using something special or is the basic Chinese wrapping foil?
once the wrap is bonded on, it will not shrink or stretch? What about direct sunlight in the summer time when it's about 120°? The material will not lift on the door handle?
Wow that was an awkward handshake.. mkay
They should make a Southpark episode about the "mkay" guy becoming a rapper wrapper... :)
