So helpful. My cousin just got a trombone for middle school, and me, being a trombone player myself, told him I could lubricate his slide really well. I wasn’t 100% percent sure how to put it on, but this video sure helped a lot.
Kevin - tell me please for how long does one Trombotine application works? How often do you have to renew the lubrication if you regularly play your trombone each day for couple of hours?
VinniePaah Thanks for your question! You can spray the slide with water when necessary to quickly relubricate it. I typically remove the old residue and reapply the Trombotine once every 1-2 weeks or when the slide starts to feel like there's metal-to-metal contact between the inner and outer slide.

Should I use a certain temperature water for the spray? Also, should the results be affected if you have used slide oil in the past?
Can you use Slide O Mix over the cream to make it better?
Angela Ponder never mix oils and creams
Yes I will not do that again... it was not good. :0)
So, at about 2:33, not afraid of bending the inner slide?
Yeah, looks like you end up with a bent slide.
Is there some kind of advantage to cream
Because this seems like a lot of work when I could just use regular oil
Yes, unless you're talking about Slide-O-Mix, cream lasts much longer and generally works much better than oil.
Kevin's reply was correct. Also, cream forms a protective layer for less damage from dents.

Thanks so much for this video! Helped a lot!
Why my friend send my this 😞
Thanks a bunch! Good easy video.
i use the slide to rub the oil in the slide
Repeat the video over and over at 1:28
You only need to put slide cream on the stockings, and you probably damaged your slide at 2:32
