Ozempic has made a huge difference in my diabetes management. My endocrinologist was good about going through side effects, including constipation, which is common. In addition, I investigated possible side effects on my own. Ultimately, people have to be their own advocates, including not using medications off-label.
Same! I got gastropresis (however you spell it) with monjaro and now on Ozempic and I have tolerated that a lot better. My A1C looks amazing. I went from 11 down to 5.4 in 3 months!! I don’t think people that aren’t diabetic should be using it.
I’ve been taking ozempic for about 2 years now and lost almost a 100 lbs , I’m type 2 diabetic and seeing a diabetic specialist and being monitored quite well. I’ve had no side effects but everyone is different but I believe it should not be given for weight loss because it would be poorly monitored and Possibly require a person to have problems and side effects ….
The problem is that people are using it for an unintended use, there is no claim, they took a medication that wasn’t meant for their bodies, second part is people are still shoveling their faces full while using the medication creating the gastroperesis. You bosy will literally tell you within a few days of starting that you need to reduce your intake. If you don’t listen to that signal and keep shoveling your going to get sick. These people caused their condition by not following the directions, they will most likely get the case tossed out. They also should not be able to get continued care through the insurance for a condition they caused by taking a medication for an unintended purpose.
They did list these side effects…y’all wouldn’t care if it said your leg might fall off as long as it makes you lose weight. Then you wanna cry and complain when the side effects kick in. I bet she never even read the side effects before taking the medication.
Exactly. How is she suing them for something they told her was a possibility of happening. Every med we take we must assess the risks and make our choices.
I’m dumbfounded that people are shocked that there are side effects with medication. All medications have side effects. They are looking into these minimal claims to see if there is a cause and effect. I highly doubt she lost over 100 lbs, as these drugs might help someone drop 15-22% of their body weight. People need to use common sense. You still need to eat healthy and exercise to the best of your ability.
You're probably quadruple COVID vaccinated and HAD COVID. Still no lawsuits on mRNA vax shows you pharma can put anything on the market and skew data. Bet you don't have to take meds but want to talk shit about this.
@@ReineDeLaSeine14 Slow gut or the lack of motility of a gut can lead to such severe constipation the colon or small intestine can break and leak causing an infection, surgery and even death. It's nothing to mess with. No one wants to add more medication like laxatives or softeners to medication routine they're already on. That's what pharma wants though...a long list of Rx so they keep profiting.
I have gastroparesis and knew immediately when I saw the first commercial that it was basically inducing it. I can understand the appeal though…my metabolism is screwed up from years of steroids, on and off malnutrition, and hormones. Plus, the condition that caused my GP severely affects my mobility. Medication assisted weight loss has its place but the problem comes in where it’s simply overweight people using these medications and not people who are obese. Don’t just blindly trust what people tell you to do, even your doctor.
Exactly my thoughts too. Gastroparesis is already a symptom of diabetes and this medication mimics the effects. We shouldn’t be recommending it for either diabetes or weight loss. The old fashioned way is still the safest for both. Eat more veggies and fiber, get intentional exercise every day.
I don’t understand why something like Duromine isn’t being prescribed instead? It speeds up metabolism and tricks the brain into not producing hunger hormones, so you eat less because you don’t feel hunger. It seems to have less side effects (the most common being restlessness) than Ozempic and also in studies has shown a higher percentage of weight lost over 6 months.
@@elenalizabeth - The side effects. Common side effects include changes in your heartbeat, high blood pressure, restlessness, trouble sleeping, nervousness, tremor, headache, dizziness, fainting, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation, stomach cramps, dry or unpleasant taste in mouth, trouble urinating, skin rashes, sexual function problems, feelings of extreme happiness followed by depression and tiredness.
My aunt is diabetic and takes it. She hasn’t had any problems and it has greatly helped her diabetes. She was surprised to see that non diabetics were taking it,especially ones that you would not consider obese. If you decide to take these meds for weight loss and don’t take into consideration the risks, then that’s on you!
I take this for my diabetes. It is not a weight loss drug and has not been widely tested on people who do not have diabetes, so of course, someone without the condition would have side effects. 🤦🏾♀️
Gastroparesis is a side effect of the meds, but diabetics get it too. I got it 10 years before ozempic came to the market. Now I'm on ozempic and eating is a torture, but ozempic keeps my a1c under 7.
@@Lupita311if you're diabetic ask your doctor to put you on trulicity same effects just more gentle on your stomach. I took ozempic and end up in the hospital. My digestive system slowed to the point of the undigested food was poisoning me.
You’re wrong on so many levels. Mounjaro is in the process of being FDA approved for weight loss and Wegovy is already FDA approved for that use. Many of these medications are also already approved for off-label use to treat other conditions… in this case, weight loss. This is why insurance companies have been covering it. Lastly, the side effects of ANY medication has nothing to do with if you have or don’t have the condition. People who take it for diabetes are no more or less susceptible to the side effects.
@@tiffany.0214 no because medication’s are still approved, and one In five medications prescribed is being prescribed, technically off label, because there are certain conditions that certain medication‘s are known to be acceptable for treating in an off label fashion, and we do it all the time medication’s come out for a certain reason, and after a certain period of time, it becomes well-known and excepted that it can also be used to treat other conditions it’s actually very common. It would be different if a doctor was prescribing a medication completely inappropriate for the diagnosis the thing is every single drug has side effects whether somebody experiences them or not varies person to person greatly, and it depends on the medication and the incidence and spectrum or scope of side effects but there’s no side effect free medication and people are made aware of that whether or not they choose to absorb or give a shit about the side effects is another story, but if a doctor is prescribing a medication for you, that means that we have concluded that the potential for side effects is outweighed by the potential for therapeutic benefit is the persons choice nonetheless whether they want to take or continue taking a medication if they’re noticing undesirable side effects then that’s their responsibility to inform their doctor and unfortunately, when it comes to weight loss, a lot of people will except and are willing to try just about anything regardless of side effects or risk anything that might be a quick fix for them and you can tell them about the side effects all you want but whether or not they’re going to listen or care initially is another story.
I’m screaming over here because I literally just said the same thing. My sister is a diabetic and this medication for is always on back order because it’s being prescribed for non diabetics!!!!
I never wanted to use meds or surgery to lose weight. Didn't want side effects. Just went Keto and exercised. My diabetes is in remission and I lost over 200 lbs. Took a lot longer but my weight has been steady for over 1.5 years now. I am maintaining.
My brother did gastric bypass. Ended up in the hospital twice with bleeding ulcers and needing transfusions. So no on that. Medication side effects suck. I am still dealing with permanent side effects from chemo for cancer. Don't need more.
I did the same! When my doctor told me I may have to take meds, I intermittent fasting and exercise and my blood test came back normal last check! I’m so proud of myself
@@lorettacarroll6015You have had other problems like cancer so you had to change eating habits anyway. Also, I'm surprised a doctor would prescribe this medicine to you, especially with your medical history.
I’m actually on it for diabetes but I do agree with the lack of emptying bowels. I’m not constipated but I don’t go everyday normally now I have to take a stool softener to go frequently. Also blurry vision, headaches, dehydration so I double up on pedilyte , Gatorade and coconut water. My ammonia levels were high once until I started hydrating myself. So it’s a risk but I felt worse when the diabetes consumed my life.
you need vitamin b complex injection cause ozempic drastically reduces absorption of the vitamin via the bowels. I'm surprised people don't know that. it's also why you get blurry vision
So you have diabetes and still drinking those sugar laden drinks????? Even the sugar free ones have stevia which spikes insulin and causes problem. I am dumbfounded how people just are ignorant even when sick.
@@user-gu6vf3je1d insulin has side effects too. it's a growth like factor which can cause atherosclerosis, increase chances and rate of macular degeneration and worse, increase chances of lipomas
You can sue over anything, doesn’t mean it will be taken seriously or result in any compensation. In fact, if you lose, you pay the defendant’s court costs.
Why? At least two of the diabetes drugs (one mentioned here) are approved for off-label use in the treatment of weight loss. If the lawsuit claims are legitimate, then the company is at fault for not disclosing. Is it BS.. maybe… but if Texas can allow ANYONE to sue another person for getting an abortion.. then this one absolutely passes the legal threshold to sue.
@@Karrenno - I never said that, so I’m not trying to debate your claims. Obviously all drugs have their respective risks and disclaimers. The topic being debated here is whether the people who used it for weight loss can sue.. and since the drugs WAS approved for this use, they definitely can sue.
Every medication has “side effects.” I’m a type 2 diabetic who tried everything to lose weight and reduce my A1C and it wasn’t until I started on Mounjaro that I was able to turn everything around. It took me about 7 months to lose 60 pounds and drop my A1C from 10 to 4.9. I’m the healthiest I’ve been in at least 15 years and I owe it all to Mounjaro. As with any drug, there will always be those that have severe or abnormal reactions but that’s not the majority. I truly believe that big pharma wants to get these drugs off the market bcuz they’re not interested in curing people. There’s no money in that.
Same with me using Ozempic!!! These people who are saying it’s OK for rich people to take a medication off label that wasn’t made for what they want make my blood boil! I’d like to sue the government for the Medicare Donut Hole that causes many of us to pay so much more for some prescriptions! My Ozempic ranges from around $264 for 4 weeks to still about $222 for the same 4 weeks! There are many., many older people living on SS alone without any other income. I could never survive in my measly $1300 a month without my husband and our investments!
If you want to loose weight and be healthier. You need to watch Dr. Robert Lustig, reason I am telling you this, I was able to loose 40 pounds in 6 months. I had been pre type 2 diabetic far years, had crossed over diagnose of Type 2 diabetic, my doctor wanted me to try to loose 20 pounds to see if it would bring my A1C down. Sent me to Nurse nutritionist to help me learn how to eat better. This is when I learned about how dangerous ultra processed food is with High fructose Corn Syrup is. This additive is in almost all cereals, soft drinks, everything in a box. I have gone back to eating only fresh or frozen vegetables and organic meats, eat only real organic whole grain bread, cut sugar out of diet. Big food companies just want dollars and it is the reason of obesity and type 2 diabetic in young children, also fatty liver disease. The only way to really win the battle is change diet to basic healthy unprocessed food.

As a Nurse I’m seeing this mostly in people who aren’t even considered Obese. Not saying it’s not happening in others who are…I’m just saying from my experience. They are using and abusing it when they are thin just with a little flab here and there
I am a Type 2 Diabetic and been battling a fatty liver since 2016. Started Ozempic in January 2023 and lost 30lbs. My labs are perfect for the first time in over 15 years. The risk is worth the reward. It does cause constipation but I added more fiber to my diet and eat more protein for the muscle loss. If used correctly and only as needed....aka only take the dose you need instead of going straight to 2.0, you'll be fine. I started at .25 and now steady at 1.0 with no intentions on going up in dosage. This is my experience and it's all positive!
But you’re using it for its intended use imagine ppl without diabetes taking this drug smh it’s insane…I’m confused to why they would think that’s a good idea
My mum is pre-diabetic and went on Wegovy for 6 months so far. Her doctor was amazed by the blood sugar reduction and told her to keep using it in order to get to a safer level.

It is crazy how a grown person can use this drug knowing the side effects then when those side effects occure now want to sue the makers. Just lazy asf all around.
You CANNOT continue to eat like shit after taking these medications. You learn very fast that you can no longer do that. If you continue these medications for weight loss and continue your poor diet you will most certainly have a bad time. As for me, I was at 237 lbs, on the cusp of type 2 diabetes, fatty liver, and high blood pressure. I am now down to 200lbs, blood work is starting to look normal and my blood pressure has dropped. We cant all have the best self control and sometimes we need a little help getting us to where we need to be health wise and to help make better food choices.
I do agree people should stop abusing this drug, but for the people who do actually need it for diabetes, I hope something can be done to get rid of that severe side effect.
@@bobboscarato1313 Nope! I’m a healthy 76 and do none of what you said! I’ve never had a single bad side effect other than weight loss which I really needed! I weight what I did when I was in my 20s and it’s so much better for my small frame!

@amydoran9987 I have gastroparesis, due to diabetes which started about 10 years before ozempic existed. (The gastroparesis not diabetes, that started over 20 years ago). Eating is a torture. Why I still take it? My sugars were poor controlled on insulin alone. Now my a1c is under 7 for 2 years, I guess it is choice I'm willing to make.
I was tested for my delayed gastric emptying in 2018 due to mitochondrial myopathy. I had delayed gastric emptying for years and was diagnosed with insulin resistance in the last 3 years doctor put me on ozempic and I haven't had any issues with this considering my pre existing condition. My guess is this is mostly overweight people taking it for weight loss in the higher doses. I'd also ask what other meds they're on and if they're drinking enough water. Narcotic pain meds, muscle relaxors and anti anxiety meds r notorious for causing severe constipation and bowel obstructions. I don't think anyone should sue for a medication they were willing to take without a necessity for it.
Play stupid games, and you'll win stupid prizes. This med was designed for diabetics, but you used it for vanity purposes and are suffering the consequences. Sue to money-hungry doctor who prescribed it off label if you want. The side effects were clear, and you chose to ignore it. 🙃
There’s always risks and side effects when taking medication. Everyone wants a quick fix for before overweight, too lazy to put in the hard work and discipline it takes
That's not always the case mate, I've been overweight for most of my life and have tried all the diets. Yes I've lost weight in the past but it comes back and then some, some doctors say I could have thyroid issues and immune system problems but there is really no way to know definitely. I have high blood pressure and am a perfect case for getting type 2 diabetes down the track, if this product can help me and others like me than why not give it a try? To say that I'm lazy and just want a quick fix is a little insulting... I quit smoking cold turkey when I was about 24. Haven't touched one in 13 years. It was easy for me, but I don't go around telling smokers that they are lazy and they need to put in the hard work... Everyone is different, everyone has different struggles.
@@tims001Hi Tim- I’m sorry you struggle with your weight but your comment about doctors not knowing with certainty if your thyroid or immune system are factors is incorrect. A blood draw will show your thyroid levels and there are several tests/paneling to diagnose any underlying autoimmune diseases. These are things your doctor should be testing for if you’re serious about weight loss. Especially before considering pharmaceutical intervention
" too lazy to put in the hard work and discipline it takes" Most of these Fitness gurus and personalities fail to mention what it take to loss weight. They are simply not eating much. Ozempic cuts your appetite. Voilà! your start losing weight. Appetite is genetic, some simply have large ones.
My wife has struggled with weight for years. She has a surprisingly healthy diet yet has great difficulty losing weight. She decided to try an Ozempic along with regular exercise. Seeing things like these lawsuits and the stomach paralysis scares the piss out of me.
I am on Ozempic for my diabetes. Each pen comes with a large pamphlet in the box that explains ALL of the possible side effects and what to do in case any occur. Unfortunately, too many people can't be bothered to read the information that comes with medication. That is one thing that should always be done, read the paperwork that comes with your medications, including the warning print outs that the pharmacist provides. You may find that there are reasons that you shouldn't be on the medication or will know what to look for as far as side effects go. People need to take more personal responsibility.
Well the diabetics always have the choice to go back to Metformin or Glybride or another pill form. The only injectable that's really made for weight loss and definitely not diabetes is Wegovy. Every Allopathic medication has sides effects.
I use it type 2 diabetes. I’ve lowered my A1C and lost weight. The slowdown of digestion doesn’t bother me. I eat healthy. Using it for diabetic care is what it’s made for. Not for weight loss. They have to take a much higher dose too.
My husband relies on this medication to regulate his blood sugar. It's made for diabetic patients, not for weight loss. Sue the doctor's prescribing it off-label, not the manufacturer.
Wegovy is approved for weight loss and my doctor prescribed it to me. After just one injection, the first shot at the lowest dose, I had severe side effects within a few hours. Headache, dizziness and projectile nausea and vomiting for 24 hours. Almost landed in the ER. Needless to say I threw away the other injections and never touched it again. These drugs may work for some but for a good number of people it comes with side effects so severe it’s obviously not worth the risk.
I did not lose many weight. I have type 2 diabetes. I got violently sick and I've called the ambulance numerous times. My eyes have gotten horribly bad while on ozempic. This stuff is dangerous
If you care about your health at all any "quick fix" for weight loss should be a red flag. Weight loss surgery included. Eat less move more. People hate to hear it but it's true 🤷♀️
I'm a caregiver for an elderly man who can no longer get Ozempic for his diabetes because others are using it for weight loss - and of course now they're complaining.
I’m lucky enough that I can more or less afford my Ozempic- thank heavens for my husband’s retirement!!! But there are so many people who cannot afford it because of this abuse!
Been on ozempic over 2 years no problem. My wife lost over 100lbs and I went from 220 to 160. Best medication we ever had. Big pharma just don’t like people becoming healthy so they wanna knock it down.
No. It ISN'T FOR WEIGHT LOSS! Because of idiots too lazy to actually cook their own food and eat healthy and lose weight by actually exercising. I and those who actually need these medicines cannot get it! There is a huge shortage right now because fat lazy nimrods want a magic-pill!! They deserve what side effects they get!
anything....gastro paresis is not caused by what you it. It caused by a lock of signals from the nervous system that tell your stomach and intestines how to function properly to digest and move food through the GI tract.
@@theirmom4723 true, but having had GP it can be greatly exacerbated by what you eat as well as how quickly you eat it and how well it's chewed (pre-processed.) My 73 yr old brother takes it for diabetes. He was thin before he began taking it. He is even thinner now and deals with constant constipation. I worry about him on this drug.
It’s literally listed in the side effects, in print and its entire mechanism of action is slowing gastric emptying. It’s listed in those exact words in my nursing drug book. Lack of movement also causes slowing down and bad diets can cause ducts from the liver/pancreas to be come blocked thus causing pancreatitis. Let’s face it type 2 diabetes is a preventable disease. You got there by eating badly and not exercising except a few outliers with diseases. (Such as pancreatic cancer). TONS of meds are prescribed off label. The only difference it makes is that insurance doesn’t cover it, it’s allowed to be given off label.
I take Ozempic because I have diabetes!!! I’m sick and tired of these rich people (California???) who are buying it just for weight loss! This stuff is expensive enough as it is - and yes, I have Medicare but there’s this government thing called “the donut hole” where we fall into (around April for me) and I can’t get out unless I spend over $5,000 in medications through the rest of the year! And let’s not even mention the supply chain - people taking needed medications from those who actually need it!!! Yes, I’m pissed!
I am taking Mounjaro to treat my type 2 diabetes along with Metformin. I was warned by my doctor to drink alot of water and to eat healthy as the medications can make you dehydrated. Also eating anything really greasy, spicy, or consuming a lot of processed carbs can result in diarrhea or constipation. I eat mainly lean meats and vegetables and some whole grains, and haven’t had any issues. I am on week 3 on Mounjaro.
It’s funny that most of these endocrinologists have stated that their condition is most common in patients who already were diagnosed with Diabetes. Since all the patients who claim that have this condition, were ALL diagnosed with Diabetes already. Sooooooooo…….
Wow, why is this a surprise. Does no one remember fin fin? What about oxycontin, Big pharma is all about the money. Everyone is so quick to jump on the bandwagon, then when they find out the dangers of a drug, they act so surprised.
I think the rich and vain people that are trying to maintain being skinny are abusing it and are having the worst sides affects! Good! Maybe that’s will STOP taking all the supply from those who actually need it!

When I read up on these drugs slowing of digestion/stomach emptying was one of the ways these drugs work. The side effects and possible side effects didn't sound like something I wanted to experience.
Yeah I didn’t understand why one would want to slow their digestion down, like wouldn’t speeding it up but blocking the hunger hormone be more effective for weight loss. Constipation is known to cause 10lb+ of weight gain as all that matter just accumulates in the bowels. It’s why people who take a lot of laxatives lose weight, because their body is flushing out food faster than it can absorb everything from it.
Every one thinks it isn't going to be them. WE all die. So yes it can and will be you! Read the risks. Are you really willing to take the drugs if something happens?
I just started on Ozempic,. because I am a pre diabetic and my doctor did tell me of the side effects.. Doctor said if side effects where to bad to stop taking the meds.. I have not had any issues.. When the drug did start I could not eat.. If I try to overeat I will get sick and feel like crap.. so I reduce my portion.. So far all is good... I do drink enough water to help with my bowel movement and take stool softener. Since I started 3 weeks ago I have lost 8 pounds
I was on Trulicity for about 2 months (something that isn’t quite the same as these but is supposed to have similar results while focusing mainly on directly affecting glucose levels). And I had to go off it because the morning nausea was too much to bear. It warns of nausea if you eat more than you’re supposed to, but I have a very physical job that requires a lot of energy, with very few opportunities to eat throughout the day, so my breakfasts and dinners had to be big. Even when reducing that as much as I could given my work requirements, I was still so nauseous some mornings that I actually had to call out of work! These drugs don’t fit all lifestyles. And if you’re not in a financial position to change your lifestyle, then these aren’t for you.

Maybe this craze of off-label use will finally die down. I'm so tired of hearing about it. Even my mom is trying to get me to use Ozempic when I barely have a BMI of 25; people think they can use these drugs willy nilly to drop a few pounds, when in reality using ANY drug that's not been tested for off-label use is playing with fire.
I'm a type 2 diabetic and was introduced to Mounjaro from my doctor. It has been a game changer for me in keeping my A1c in line. Other medications that I was on just weren't helping. I did have some of the side effects listed but so far nothing major.
Lol I got this condition from another medication’s side effects when I was 19 and it’s been a very rare and uncommon disorder. The medications to help treat the gastric disorder also causes way worse complications like involuntary muscle movement etc. the only other known source to help “treat” the long term complication is by a gastric pacemaker which is surgical and needs consistent doctors care. Now that other people are being affected by it maybe they’ll actually care and look into how to actually help us and prevent it from happening to others. But always do your research before taking medications that you DO NOT necessarily need, it’s never worth the risk. Now I’m stuck struggling with these dang disorders 😭😭 stay healthy yall we could (sometimes) prevent these situations by promoting great health before having to seek assistance, because once you need the help you don’t have many options unfortunately.
A lot of questions here, what doses was she on? Did they just keep increasing doses and not check blood, vitals etc.? Was she being monitored closely by her GP and if warranted Endocrinologist? They should have been working together to assure this was the right path for her. You need to eat properly, make sure you hydrate, exercise if you are on these medications and in life in general. She needs to sue her Doctor or program she went through if she only used to lose weight not the makers - every medication has side effects and there is no way an ethical doctor would have kept her on either of these if she “ended up” in the ER numerous times. JMHO! Please all I truly do not wish to go tit for tat on this. If you experience anything like this woman claims she did anyone should be intelligent enough to find a new doctor, you have to be your own health advocate and take control of your own health and safety!
The other problem not being discussed with all these types of drugs is when you need surgery. It's a rarer instance I suppose, but if you take one and then need (or want - elective) surgery, your anesthesiologist will have some major concerns. Typically, you need to have nothing in your stomach for fear of aspiration during anesthesia induction. These drugs leave food in your stomach for a much longer period of time. You may need to be npo for a full 24 hours instead of 8 before your surgery time.
Im at odds about this subgect. Yes i agree it does slow down the digestion track. I use to have boul movments every day and now twice a week. But before I had 3to 4000 calories a day, and now less than 1000 a day. But in my opinion the good out ways the bad. I was 200lbs overweight and sugar was crazy high. I have lost almost half of my target weight and my sugar level is almost normal again. Been on ozempic for few months now.
The people abusing this drug trying to lose weight knew about the dangers and shouldn't get shit in court..There's enough research on social media to know the hazards
One of the positive side effects is reduction of appetite. Slowing of the stomach emptying would explain the feeling of being full. 🤦♀️ Don't get me wrong. To have your food in your stomach for a long period of time must be uncomfortable.
Yeah they are right. I have lots of side effects. It won't let me eat. I feel sick everyday/night, gas, I havn't been to the rest room in weeks. I am planning to stop taking it. I am trying to get my A1C down from a 8. It's the reason my doctor gave it to me plus the 6 pills each day.

Ozempic had made a huge difference in my life. Yes I've had some bad side effects but now its very manageable and would recommend it for any diabetic 🙌🏼.
It made me sick to begin with but I adjusted. Then insurance refused to cover (they insisted it wasn't working for me), so I tried something else which I had an allergic reaction to. The doctor tried to put me back on ozempic but getting refills is spotty because it's rarely in stock. I've finally just decided to stop trying to get my prescription, my body can't handle constantly being off it for weeks than having it for a few weeks and then not being able to get refilled again. It was really helping while I was able to stay on it, contrary to what insurance insisted.
Those lawsuits are not going to go anywhere. People are abusing these drugs.
Literally.
Absolutely true
Yup
Bingo-Ozempic isn’t approved for weight loss.
I’m sorry but, if you used this for weight loss instead of self control you deserve the side effects.
Ozempic has made a huge difference in my diabetes management. My endocrinologist was good about going through side effects, including constipation, which is common. In addition, I investigated possible side effects on my own. Ultimately, people have to be their own advocates, including not using medications off-label.
Thank you.
Well said, you should know your body better the anybody else.
Lol so true!
Super true. They do advise of that and it is readily available online.

I think the problem is not the desire to lose weight but lose it fast, so they push the dosages to the limit.

This additive is in almost all cereals, soft drinks, everything in a box. @@Morelove4ever8Not vile! It’s like stealing! So far I haven’t had a problem with obtaining my every-4-week prescription but it’s also not cheap either. It’s helped keep my HbA1c (look it up,if you don’t understand!) in the best place for me to be healthy!
So first people use the medicine for what it WASNT actually created for it and now they’re suing because they have issues? 🤔 this is America.
I think diabetic medication should be treated for diabetes, and you shouldn't use this if you don't have diabetes.
Why didn't you ask for ondansetron (nausea med).
Trulicity is very lightweight.
My doctor prescribed it for me and oddly enough it cured my IBS-D
YOU KNOW WHAT 😮😮😮😮 I’m on Mounjaro & have been for 3 months. I refused Ozempic & was on Trulicity but, then NO Pharmacy (not even online Pharmacies) COULD GET MY Trulicity (I have had Type 2 Diabetes for YEARS! Which is THE ONLY REASON that I give myself the Mounjaro injections)! But it HAS helped w/ my weight (down from 247.6-200.3 in 4 months & brought my A1C down from 8.5-6.5 & UNTIL I READ WHAT YOU WROTE HERE…..I 🤦♀️ DIDNT EVEN REALIZE that it HAS CURED MY “IBS” 😃🎉 like it has also done for you 👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 I’ve had diarrhea EVERY SINGLE FRIGGIN 😖 DAY, for YEARRRRRRRS 😫 & NOTHINNNNG helped me. THANK YOU FOR MENTIONING THAT; I need 2 bring this up 2 my Dr. because HE HAS TRIED HELPING ME W/ THE IBS ISSUE FOR SOOOOO LONNNNG & NOTHING WORKED so i gave up BUT HE STILL WORRIED BECAUSE, I WOUKD PASS OUT whiiiiile on the toilet & even fall forward onto the floor & faceplant BUT THE SCARIEST IS WHEN I WOUKD FEEL LIKE I WAS literally SECONDS FROM DYING & was living all alone & sometimes i couldnt grab my cell in time 2 make it 2 the potty so i had 2 skip grabbing my phone AND THEN WAS SOOOOO SCARED WHEN FEELING ABOUT 2 PASS OUT OR FAINT OR possibly die from dehydration 😟😢
😮 Thanks for sharing. May you find relief someday!
Sue the Drs who prescribed this to EVERYONE.
There you have. If it’s on the label as a warning then it’s not a lawsuit.
All medications comes with side effects duh!🙄
Im at odds about this subgect. Yes i agree it does slow down the digestion track. I use to have boul movments every day and now twice a week. But before I had 3to 4000 calories a day, and now less than 1000 a day. But in my opinion the good out ways the bad. I was 200lbs overweight and sugar was crazy high. I have lost almost half of my target weight and my sugar level is almost normal again. Been on ozempic for few months now.
If taken only for weight loss, what happens with your glucose levels? lows are not good either.
The people abusing this drug trying to lose weight knew about the dangers and shouldn't get shit in court..There's enough research on social media to know the hazards
My husband had a intestinal blicksge and gallstones.dangerous
If it is for off label uses, how can you sue? You can sue your doctor for off label prescriptions?
Why is this even a story and a law suit. All medications have side effects and this was clearly states what can happen.
One of the positive side effects is reduction of appetite.
Slowing of the stomach emptying would explain the feeling of being full. 🤦♀️
Don't get me wrong.
Never saw that coming~Cue the major sarcastic eye roll...Just told my BF 2 weeks back, "Let the lawsuits begin"!!
I’m sure the people suing are the idiots that are using it for weight loss not actually diabetics
i have diabetes and cant get my medicine beause of these people and doctors. its wrong.
I just now was prescribed thus medication because people and doctors are abusing it for people who "can't lose weight" I need it for my type 2 diabetes. It's absolutely disgusting people are using this and are prioritizing it for weight lose.
It shouldn't be labeled off label...and should say should not be used for weight loss only
The TV ads even say it’s for weight loss and don’t even mention diabetes!
Gastroparesis is an absolutely horrible condition. One of my friends with MS had it as one of her symptoms of her MS. She was hospitalized for nearly a month to get everything under control. I feel for anyone who goes through this for any reason.
i have it and it’s a horrible condition hard to eat properly to
Hard to feel sorry for lazy people who rather take a drug meant for diabetes than go to the gym or eat healthier.
@@kbob9625it’s hard to be empathetic, especially to people you don’t know. I feel like some of these people were recommended this medication by their doctors, and not everyone has the time or money to go to a gym. Be happy if you do. Please don’t try to convince me, or others, to not be empathetic. That’s the last thing this world needs, fewer people who don’t care about others.
@@OrangeCat1992 this medication literally costs like 1300 a piece. It's also driving the demand and cost up for people who actually need it. It's not a weight loss drug. It's for people with diabetes.
@@kbob9625 you don’t know that the people suing aren’t those with diabetes though. Side effects don’t care why you’re taking the medication. They’re generally universal.
The people that are (ab)using it are the test subjects, since the Kardashians and others started promoting it before it could be tested.
imagining not thinking this was a horrible idea from day one.... exercise and diet are not hard people.
Glad you speak for those with eating disorders, you probably never been fat ever
Ozempic had made a huge difference in my life. Yes I've had some bad side effects but now its very manageable and would recommend it for any diabetic 🙌🏼.
Just two weeks ago GMA had a doctor on saying how good it is😵💫
Yea that usually happens when you are not the target domgraphic that the drug is intended for.
They never said it was side effect free.
I know 2 ladies at work that are on this. Their eating choices are still the same.
1:24 I have both side effects
It was created for diabetics. So you use it while not being diabetic?
It made me sick to begin with but I adjusted. Then insurance refused to cover (they insisted it wasn't working for me), so I tried something else which I had an allergic reaction to. The doctor tried to put me back on ozempic but getting refills is spotty because it's rarely in stock. I've finally just decided to stop trying to get my prescription, my body can't handle constantly being off it for weeks than having it for a few weeks and then not being able to get refilled again. It was really helping while I was able to stay on it, contrary to what insurance insisted.
