@@grumpygengar22Maybe you could make a run based on Pokemon with the most beauty in contests? If that makes sence sorry i am from Austria i speak german normally
Wow, I was not expecting this theme for the run. And on Sapphire too! I like using the Pokedex's classification, because even if it's sometimes odd at least it's a neutral determination. Kinda funny how this turned into a pseudo mono-poison run tho. Edit: Also purple was a very fitting choice, given your channel's mascot
Keep up this formula and I suspect you'll have good succes on youtube Good footage, great mic, seamless editing etc. Are much better than what I'd expect for someone with less than 10k subscribers, which is something you most certainly deserve 10/10 in my eyes
You could do a run using any gym leader or E4 member's team. You can use whatever moves you want or restrict yourself to the movesets they use, you can use the FRLG/E rematch teams that use non-Hoenn Pokémon, hack in the entire team at the very beginning, add a new member after each gym or catch everything legit... up to you, really, I just love the idea of destroying trainers with their own teams.
This is such an interesting twist on the Nuzlocke formula and your commentary is the perfect blend of entertaining and informative. I look forward to seeing what you do next!
So in the rare case you encounter a shiny, an the shiny is purple, would that then count as a team member? That'd be such cool luck if that occurs. 0:39 - I feel you're restricting yourself a bit too much in not being allowed to use the younger stages of certain "purple" Pokémon until they evolve; it feels like we're going to see the same one or two Pokémon being used for good portion as a result. Still, perhaps this will end up more interesting; I'll find out as I watch. 2:13 - Couldn't you just catch a Wurmple, have it level up with old switch-in-and-out method, and evolve it into Cascoon. So long as it's done at the start and not actually taking hits, I'd say it wouldn't count as using it in battle. 7:40 - Hold on; Loudred and Exploud don't count as purple? They are blue? What the heck; that is clearly purple! 11:17 - There is something really cool about the image of Grimer shooting out a Flamethrower. A shame Cascoon couldn't learn it. I do see you have been utilising the Pokémon though given it's managed to keep level parity with the rest of the team. You luckily haven't been as roadblocked as often as I feared (it only took a 2nd attempt to get past Roxanne). 15:59 - Oh my gosh; you tried to sacrifice your starter! You monster! Grimer clearly saw the electric charred corpse of Cascoon and didn't want such a fate to befall them. 18:39 - Huh, figured you'd favour having Delcatty on the team instead of three pure Poison types. I suppose Crobat is there to deal with Ground types, Illumise is there to deal with Psychic types and Delcatty wouldn't be any good against Rock types regardless. Oh wait, I see from 20:31 that Delcatty will be given their chance to shine. Having seen my brother use one (with much frustration), I wish you the best of luck. 26:29 - Illumise is proving surprisingly competent in this run. It feels somewhat poetic with your past (understandable) critiques of the Pokémon. Always nice when such rarely used Pokémon pull of surprising results. I was hoping to see some cool things from Lileep as well but uh... 27:30 says otherwise. A real shame when you don't get the chance to really utilise a Pokémon you wanted too in a Nuzlocke. 32:20 - An Delcatty achieves a cool moment of his own in this run. The underdog (well, cat) achieves success! 42:17 - A HM Slave with levels works out nicely from time-to-time. I had an Aron serve as one in my first Pokémon Sapphire run... and became so attached to the Pokémon that I kept him around and would later opt for him as a main team member in Pokémon Alpha Sapphire. Besides, old gen Rock Smash is the only throwaway move on Delcatty here. 46:30 - Grumpy Gengar; the Psychic/Poison gym leader! Though to be fair, if you hailed from the Kanto region, you could get away with being a Poison gym leader even with all your Psychic types (those Fuchsia jugglers and their Hypnos). 50:08 - Muk used Brick Break to break out of the ice instantly! Such a miraculous combination of misfortune and fortune! Congratulations on your fantastic results with this run!
Imagine how many resets itd take if you wanted Wurmple to evolve into Cascoon to get an attacking move for it. You'd have Tackle, Poison Sting, String Shot, Harden, speed control could be helpful for your slower team members
So I like your contents and narrative a lot, but have you ever thought of branching out to other generations? I have been following you for a while and honestly I absolutely respect your dedication for gen 3, but at the same time I would also love to see your take on other generations as well.
Take a look at my channel's welcome video when you get a chance, I explain it briefly there. But I am going to start looking into which game I would like to cover next, and I'll most likely get input from you guys. It'll still be a little ways out but I would like to get into that process soon. It's just hard with the limited amount of time I have to do multiple games at a time. But I will get there I promise.
@@grumpygengar22 I just went back and rewatch it since I wasn't here when your channel was created and missed some older videos. I understand now and good luck with your journey, you're pretty underrated channel and I hope to see you grow more on this platform in the future.
What kind of run would you like to see me do in the future?
Maybe a weight-based run or a height-based run?
@@ThibsyCube those are good ones!

@@Alex-jq6vq I have thought about a contest related Nuzlocke of some kind. Not sure how to handle it yet but yeah that sounds interesting!
“Having less fun is dumb” haha, I love that. Another creative and enjoyable run, Grumpy!!

Thank you YT recommended! Please do a run using only pokés in the Human-like egg group
Will definitely add it to the list!
Pokémon Platinum hardcore nuzlocke next, please. Really appreciate your emerald guide. It helped a lot when doing my own hardcore nuzlocke!
That will definitely come, just not sure when yet.

Great ideas!
As long as i saw Illumise was viable i knew you were fine
You’re gutsy to choose Sapphire over Emerald! I can’t stand the font in that game, and I LOVE the amount of double battles in Emerald
YEEEEEEEEEAH!!!! PURPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's a lot of editing for this run haha. Good job.
How is Whismer not a viable encounter?

your channel could blow up any time keep it up :)
Hope so!
