So an idea I had for a nuzlocke challenge is a "Non-evolving pokemon" challenge where you can only use pokemon that do not have an evolution like Heracross, Audino, Dunsparce (outside of gen 9), Farfetch'd (outside of gen 8), Furfrou, etc, the regions where this challenge is possible are Johto with Dunsparce available before Falkner, Unova with Audino available before Chilli, Cylan and Cress and in B2/W2 there's both Audino and Dunsparce before Cheren, Kalos with Dunsparce and Farfetch'd before Viola, Galar (I think I don't know every wild area encounter but there's a lot before the first gym) and Paldea with Flamigo available before your second Nemona fight.
I kinda have the memory that shaking grass in Gen5 doesn't unlock until you beat gym 1...... Are you sure it's possible to catch Audino before the first gym? If it is possible then in either version that's a strong pokemon to use that early in the game.
@@hhjan594 Hmm I'm pretty sure I remember fighting Audino in at least in BW1 after leaving the second town, the one where you first fight N. But according to Bulbapedia you need to get the first badge so I don't know
@@hhjan594 that is correct. Not encountered until after earning first badge in both BW and BW2. Done enough grinding in both for nuzlocke to know it's not possible
not sure if its possible without getting very lucky. the level cap for falkner is 9, so you can’t even get beedrill or butterfree. i’d love to be proben wrong though
@@nicholasricci8342t's definitely doable, the pidgey has no flying moves and both of his other moves are physical, so you could set up harden to not lose to pidgeotto Also gust on pidgeotto is physical because it's gen 2
Between G/S, it's gotta be Gold. Falkner is difficult but doable (I've done it in a level capped, though not Nuzlocked, run). But Rival 2 is suffering in Silver because of his Gastly. You only have Beedrill, Ledyba/Ledian, and Paras so you have almost no way to hit Gastly outside of Struggle (which is a death wish considering Quilava). Gold has Butterfree, makes it a lot easier. A shame, since Ledian and its BoltBeam punches are (while weak) very useful coverage and you have options like dual screens or Baton Pass with them later. Whereas Ariados, much as I love them, really suffers this gen specifically
It's cool to see Absol, my favorite Pokémon, putting in so much work. It's unfortunate that before the physical/special split Absol could't really make use of its massive attack stat, but in the easier Pokémon games you can get by with a Calm Mind set as you did here. I do wish it was better though.
I did this, but on emerald. First gym conpletely possivle with just poochyena, bite is special, so big chances of flinching and doing good damage on the rock mons.
I would love to see Dark in Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee. The sheet says the type doesn’t exist, but the Alolan forms are tradable and the first is Rattata in Cerulean!
I think you only get access to Raticate, Muk, and Persian (Alolan forms of course). Even so, I think it could be neat. Maybe you could also try Steel and Fairy by that regard. Steel has Magneton, Alolan Dugtrio, and Alolan Sandslash. Fairy has a lot more since Jigglypuff, Clefairy, and Mr. Mime lines got retconned into being Fairy-types in addition to Alolan Ninetales. Shouldn't be too too bad since Let's Go is notoriously a joke in terms of difficulty but who knows for sure.
@@ChaoticMeatballTV They would be very hard because it would be two encounters for the whole game (there are three for dark, but two are version exclusive), but for an otherwise easy game it might still be possible!
Just did this exact run a couple weeks ago! I allowed myself to capture two Poochyena on two different routes before Roxanne to make it reasonably doable. Absol and Sharpedo truly the MVPs
God i love to see somebody acknowledge the power that Absol's special coverage has. feels like on the whole the 'modern perspective' on them is as a physical one trick mon. even though it's Special Attack is actually quite passable, and post phys/Special Split it gets to use it's titanic attack stat for it's stab, with good special coverage as back up. with admittedly most of my 'in depth' experience with pokemon being solo runs in platinum where realistically you can't setup in important battles, and Absol's physical moveset is pretty 'limited' in gen 4.
I think they did absol dirty with it's stats. High attack and high crit chance moves with super luck is good and all, but not with a base speed of 70. I wish they would have taken points from it's defenses and special attack and at least gave him a 100 base speed stat. Also, I'm hyped for the franchiselocke staring back up.
I know it will likely be the most difficult part of this challenge, but I do want to see you do Dragon types in the early games, just to see how you'd do it.
I would like to see some different challenges.... Not saying they will be easier though. A minimum battle challenge in SV sounds interesting, but come to think of it, I think that will just be riding Koraidon/Miraidon around picking up exp candies and smacking the exp candies onto your starter along with another random Pokemon you catch to make your team 3 pokemon so you can fight team star. There's only one gift Pokemon other than your starter so you are forced to catch a Pokemon in a minimum battle run in this game. After the exp candies nonsense, you just straight up fight the 18 bosses with your overleveled pokemon. Heck, I'm not sure if you are allowed to run from the catching tutorial Lechonk, because if you cannot run then you are forced to catch it to keep it minimum battle. Another type of weird challenge I would like to see is a "Reverse Professor Oak" challenge. This is the opposite of Professor Oak's challenge, you have to avoid filling your dex as much as possible before every gym badge, so you can only catch and use pokemon that you are absolutely going to battle as opponents in the section, or else you will get more dex entries than necessary. This makes grinding levels very difficult because you will try your best to avoid most wild encounters as if they have a chance to unlock additional dex slots for you.
I saw thay the all inclusive mega man hasn't seen a new video on 3 years. I think you have good potential to make more retrospectives, hope you return to that from time to time
