I've used one in a store I worked in, It had a safety interlock switch on the door so it wouldn't run with the door open. My favorite part was you could throw a broken dresser in and hit the button and it would make all kinds of satisfying crunching sounds.
I saw another story of a man who was crushed but he survived. I didn’t know that the weight of the trash turns on the compactor. I’m so sad for the man who died in NY.
Nice video! I work on these everyday, seems like you guys have some respect for them, nice to see. Just FYI, to be in compliance those doors need some sort of safety interlock so it can’t run with the doors open.
i fixed those things for over 20 years, i was ,mostly sent on compactors, cardboard bailers, some meat/deli dept equipment(auto slicers etc) hydraulic loading docks , LOT of automatic doors and just a whole bunch of stuff in grocery stores... i had my specialties but basically i could fix everything from the automatic sliding door you walk in,to the grocery cart you use(i didn't do it often but sometime i'd spend a whole day changing hundreds of wheels so they stop squeaking) to the entire shelving structure of the store (usually done at night, BIG money :D ) to the checkout desk you shove all your purchases on @ the end... working on equipment in grocery stores means you have to think for all types of employees...even the 16 years old kid whos probably high , is struggling with schoolwork and has a crush on a classmate SUPER distracted and likely to hurt himself so you gotta go hard on the safety systems... but in some places the same machines are operated by qualified adults or whatever,. much less safety barriers are required
Hi, I have a question. Are these supposed to run all night? My apartment building has one and they have been leaving it running all night and it’s driving me crazy because it’s loud enough where I can hear it on the second floor. Is it supposed to do that? Run all night?
Came to see this because I just read about a woman who is found dead in a trash compactor. Also, read about a pair of legs that was found in compressed cardboard in Taiwan that had been shipped from the US.
It honestly already has,, I posted it a good while back and it sat forever with like 300 views on it and then like the past month and a half everybody’s been watching it.. 🤣🤣
I think it’s a huge liability that they do not have a button on each side of the inside of the trash compactor that you can hit to stop it immediately and sound an alarm. There’s been so many deaths that happen from homeless people, or people that accidentally fall in.
On a static compactor I used there were two lights and orange one to tell you it was 75% full then the green one would flash on/off when it was 100% full and would cut off. I hope this helps
Anyone here after the trash compactor accident in New York?
Yup! How did you know? Lol
I knew there was gona b someone else 😂
Lol here for your comment
That’s why Im Here
I'm definitely here because of that reason!!! I need to know how it works lol
Just watched the Brooklyn man who died in this . How horrible
Mee too!! That’s why I’m here 😩
Here after seeing a news story of someone getting crushed by one of these things
Lawd I know he panicked like hell!!!!!

Ugh boss, do I really have to find another magnet to bypass that shit?
What do you recommend for maintenance on a compactor like this?

Bored waiting for the eclipse so now I’m figuring out how trash compactors work
Dam what a way to go.
A man was found dead in Brooklyn inside one 😔
Yeah I wondered how they work after that
This video will blow up soon because people like me are curious how trash compactor works after the accident
It honestly already has,, I posted it a good while back and it sat forever with like 300 views on it and then like the past month and a half everybody’s been watching it.. 🤣🤣
Very well put together sir. Thank you. What kind of back of the house maintenance do you guys do as well?
None on these , but we maintain the high rise building above it. 🤙🏻
@@Tech360Dallassorry, I meant to post this on your hotel room maintenance video.
Remember to cut the hydraulic lines after you use an arc cutter in the back. Retail stores got some good products they toss away
I wanna jump in while its on. It must be so comfy
your not serious right?
I’ve always wanted to be a pancake

I work for Home Depot and we have a compactor that is very fun to use
Yea they come in handy!!
Back rooms vibes
I used one of these before when I worked at Life is Good
I really wanna see that one that didnt wanna compact….you know….be compacted. I guess it’s hard to do it with just cardboard
bfdia 9 reference
I'm here after Mrballen horrible stories about trash compacter.😬
I'm here after seeing videos of people sleeping in bins and getting crushed to death 😬😩
Oof
Hahaha what a retarded place to fall asleep
Seen those as well. In the areas that have harsh winters, a lot of homeless people sleep in them to keep from freezing to death.
Me too
I was just watching a video on MrBallen's channel. A dude fell in one at an apartment complex and got crushed 😬
After seeing that guy go down the compactor I decided to look up garbage compactors 🤦🏽♀️🙏🏾smh
What has happened if the hydraulic doesn’t move to push the trash in?
Lol it does happen from time to time.. but then it just doesn’t squish all ur trash into the big container!
R.i.p. 2 bro
I here to see how this works
Haha get pushe-aaaAAAAAHHHAÄÆHHHH
Ooh damn
Yep, just curious
Just came here after that incident at NY building, man that's a horrible way to die
This guy should see the guy that got killed by it in NY VIDEO
How do you know when it’s full
I dont know but by what I heard it is like a trash truck and it will be harder to pack once it is full.
1:49 the pressure gauge to the right of the buttons. When the needle touches the yellow to red zone it's time to empty the compactor.
On a static compactor I used there were two lights and orange one to tell you it was 75% full then the green one would flash on/off when it was 100% full and would cut off. I hope this helps
Horrible. Where is the output of this compactor? What does the bale look like? What does it produce?
My apartment building runs it all night? Are they supposed to do that? It’s so loud I can hear it and it’s literally driving me insane.
The compactor is probably on auto setting and runs when someone makes a deposit
@@trashyraccoon2615 I called maintenance and it happens when something gets stuck in it I guess. Either way I would like to move out very soon
I thought you were going to show how it works not what it does.
buy a bale
Thoda zor se bol
Um, anyone could have made this video. Duh 🙄
Not all people can do this
not you
