- I'm not too sure where this truck came from. My suspicions are that it came from St George. this truck is RL20 and this is our 7th bulk waste truck.

In america They would never pick up lose garbage without being put in bags or tied up. Sad to see that some people do not care how hard these people work. There job is hard enough in all kinds of weather. Bless you all for keeping the streets so clean.

The guy recording didn’t put it there, but yeah it is quite sad. People can’t be bothered to donate stuff or sell it as secondhand, they’d just rather toss it at the curb.

It's too bad you didn't go to the transfer station or garbage dump where they go. I would have loved to see everything come back out again.

Yep, I have the same feeling. Some people are just incredibly selfish and don't want any other person to benefit in any way from things they bought, and rather throw them away instead of donating them.
Also, donating or selling things is a lot more effort than just throwing them away.
I hope that this kind of selfishness becomes more and more socially unacceptable, and more effortless ways to give away things will be introduced soon.

Sou de Curitiba Brasil, e temos coletas separadas, orgânicos e reciclaveis, apesar que aqui ainda tem muitas falhas, pois um boa parte da população tem preguiça de separar devidamente o lixo do que não é lixo, aí na Autralia vejo tudo sendo compactado, sendo que dava para reciclar, e isso tudo vai para um aterro.

Those were the good ole days , me at a young age 7 riding my bicycle around town in pyjamas , following these trucks and watching how the blade crunched everything from home appliances to home furnishings inside the hopper for hours on end .

Where I live (US) the non-trash items: beds, iron, couches is picked up by a different truck.
Much of the metal items would have been picked up by someone who recycles metal.

Hey mate, good to see somebody finally got RL20 on UA-cam, used to be my truck when I did Fairfield Cleanup. This is a Fairfield Cleanup truck, Campbelltown contract is using while Fairfield council has stopped Suez doing cleanup due to COVID, once things go back to normal this truck should go back to Fairfield. Also that white Dennis Superior Pak RL Liam seen is a Fairfield cleanup truck too its known as RL796.

Trash trucks surprise me with how much they can hold. The rear blade mostly just pulls the trash up into the hopper and the compression force couldn't be very many psi with such a large blade. You would think that a shredder mounted on the back would be more efficient. They can tear through anything and would take out all the empty space allowing for better packing.
They are very powerful! They compact everything, nice and tight. There are clips on UA-cam, of bin lorries, crushing cars!

Take a few mins to rip open couches and stuffed chairs when you get them you never know what you’ll find. I found watches, pocket knives , cell phones and TONS of change!! Once I found over $5 in quarters in a couch!!!

Hi Daman, as you know, these are my favourite videos and you also know that I am old school when it comes to garbage trucks and so my technical knowledge of this particular vehicle is non existent and I don't know the correct terminology for all the working parts as they are today. I am fascinated by this truck because the packer blade has a far greater reach than I have seen on other trucks that you and others have featured in videos. The swallowing of the couch early in the video demonstrates what I mean. Does this indicate that this vehicle was designed specifically for this type of clean up? When these trucks were first introduced (not long after dinosaurs left the earth) my father referred to them as "compactor " trucks and refused to operate them after having his friend fall into the hopper and crushed by the "blade". I must point out that my father was not the operator of that particular truck at the time. I like the creative way that you hide street signs and it satisfies my obsession with safety which I must say that some UA-cam creators find annoying especially when I point out things in their videos that may identify them and their home address. I am trying not to comment on such things now but I do worry for their safety. So sorry for this extremely long comment and I will delete it if you wish. Great video Daman.
