“Hakuna Makata” might not have been a classic, but Hakuna Matata sure is! 28 years later and new generations that weren’t even born when it was released know all the lyrics 😂
I'm actually surprised that at least Roger didn't mention the reference to the two of them, when Hades says "two thumbs way way up for our leading lady" 😆
I saw My Best Friend's Wedding when it first came to VHS as a child who was way too young to really get it. My mother rented it in a rare act of trying to watch something for her and not for everyone else and saw it super early one weekend, but that didn't stop me from waddling in and watching it with her. The scene where they're at the dinner table singing Say A Little Pray For You still sticks with me. The song use to play on the oldie station at the time, but I still associate it with this movie. Perhaps I should rewatch it and actually see what else happens
My Best Friend's Wedding .. Directed by P.J. Hogan .. Who can take romcom & elevate the froth while sneaking in a message effectively .. His characters are deeper .. And they learn .. TgT
I just can't imagine being a major, major Batman fan and seeing _Batman and Robin_ in theaters for the first time. agony. I can only imagine agony and embarrassment.
I saw BATMAN and ROBIN in the Hollywood Grauman's Chinese theater. It was packed on opening week-end and I watched people walk out. I stayed to laugh because it was so bad.
I remember seeing Batman and robin in cinemas as a kid and Batman forever and thought they were ok movies by Joel Schumacher and loved Hercules including the classic video game
They just didn't know how to say Batman and Robin was so bad that it's good. And “I Won't Say I'm In Love” and “I Can Go The Distance,” plus the intro gospel song: all bangers
Wow, they pulled some punches on their Batman and Robin critique. This movie just gets worse and worse over time, I don’t think it’s that good of a “bad popcorn flick” kind of movie either. Product of their times I guess. Roger lived long enough to see the superhero genre go through a type of renaissance, starting I guess with Hellboy and Batman Begins but Gene did not. Had he lived longer he might of had a change of heart on Batman and Robin. A true stinker of a movie.
Their heated argument over Hercules has to be one of the best arguments of this show, although to be perfectly honest I gotta side with Gene on Hercules, I didn’t even care for that film, it was overrated in the first place and in my own opinion, it’s about as less fun as Princess Diana’s funeral. 😆😆😆
Hold on chill bro so GO to Distance isn't a good song??? And the action scenes were better than Lion King yet not Mulan Hercules is great film and Hades is probably best Villian next to Jafar
Honestly, for all the Batman films, to me, they never really nailed it with the casting. I thought Keaton was boring, Clooney and Kilmer were awful, and I know I’m one of many who cringe as Bale’s now-commonly mocked overacting in the role. The best choice would have been a no name actor.
They're being WAY too kind to Batman and Robin. LOL.
I hated it it was a massive waste of time
They both panned it, not much worse than that.
Easily the most intense discussion about Hercules that I've ever seen 😂

Sharp direction in making the toddler act so well in Ponette.
SISKEL IS TRIPPIN so Hercules didn't have good songs yet they have my favorite in Go to Distance..........that's a real man to be song, to me
Roger always had to throw a dig at Hakuna Matata which makes me lol cause Hakuna Matata is great and Gene was clearly right that kids liked it

Well, Batman Forever had already lowered expectations considerably 🤷♂️
Batman and robin is a great schlock film made by one of the best directors ever.
George Clooney was the worst Batman. He even said that he doesn’t care about the character and he only did it for the paycheck
Thankfully his career was able to survive that movie
The two thumbs up for Speed 2....😅
Yeah never understood that
I want a Batman and Robin reboot movie done right.

Two stars for Batman and Robin? Then what on Earth deserves one star?
Max Payne, I saw it for free and I still wanted my money back. The only movie I ever saw where the audience turned on it and got agitated.
@@CheefChaos That movie was absolute garbage but I'd watch it again before Batman and Robin.
Would love that Siskel and Ebert sequel series Gene quipped about at the end.

Hercules is good and also a good Playstation game.
I saw a playthrough of it haha. I wanna emulate it.
That game and tekken 2 are the reason why I wanted a PS1 🤝
I'm writing that the year 2024 will be Batman's 85th anniversary year and the 35th anniversary of Tim Burton's 1989 Batman film.
My Best Friend's Wedding is one of my favorite movies. I was hugely disappointed in Batman and Robin.

WHO put the “glad” in GLAD-i-a-TOR!? HER-CU-LES!
I think Ebert always had a soft spot for Disney animation, even if it was not up to par

I like my beat friends wedding it's a great movie

Two stars for Batman and Robin? That’s too nice. This is one of the all time worst.
Every movie in this show was horrible
