A lot of work, but great result. Lots of useful tips. I love nail guns that much, I have five. Pasload framer for heavy duty, Ryobi Battery, and three air (brads, staple, pin). I know, a little over the top. I can't help myself.
Great build Shane, happy wife and a happy life. Good job the neighbors were not out in the back, when you soaked the boards as it looked like you got some water over there as well ha ha ha. Judging by the paint on your gloves, you must go through loads of gloves when you are painting or staining ha ha ha. I need a coffee!! Barry (ENG)
I chalked up a few brownie points with this one Bazz 👍 Mate, l'm, the messiest painter in the southern hempisphere so l'm never short of a pair of disposable gloves 😂. Cheers mate 👍
Another ripper job and vid uncle knackers, so thanks mate. Also, really good to see a new upload Shane, it's been a little while since you're last and i've missed ya mug a bit. Hope you and fam are happy and healthy, and i'm already looking forward to the next uncle knackers project. Take it easy bloke and i'll cop ya ron...
Brrrrrrr-illy-antay!! Love it. I didn't even know I needed one till now! What a great way to deal with the clothesline. First visit. Subbing right now. Love your quirkiness
Awesome! Glad you liked it Emer👍 It's actually become a multipurpose wall being a soccer goal and a wall to hit the tennis ball against 👍👍 Appreciate the sub too Emer and l hope you can check out some of my other content. Cheers 👍😁
Great project Uncle Knackers! Recon that would look to just as good as an interior 'feature' wall as it does here as a scream to hide you drying smalls. Wouldn't be surprised it it catches on with the designer lot..... Keep up the good work.
This guy is a genuine great person, he replies to all of his comments and anyone who takes the time to personally thank everyone who messages him is a great knucklehead in my books. Thanks for the content uncle knackers!!!!
Hi Shane. You did it again, great project. Looks great. The Mrs. overhere is already looking for a good place in our garden. Thanks mate, perhaps your uncle Bob can be of any help. First I need to work aunty Angina out of the door 🤒
never thought I would ever say this in my life, "that is the fanciest clothes line I have ever seen" That screen looks great, it would be a great feature wall inside a house. nice job Knackers.
welcome back mate, love the video....and i know your going to say u used galvanised nails on the framer arnt ya uncle knackers hhahaah keep up the good work mate..... miss your weekly vids...
Onya Shane, too easy! Reckon I'll follow suit. We have the timber see-thru "good neighbour" fences and the wife sometimes puts the washing out while naked 😛. Hmmm... that might explain why I've seen the fellas next door with their faces pushed up against their kitchen window. Think I'd better get cracking on that screen 😁
Wow! Now that's Passion there mate! Awesome job... Just gotta get the neighbour to clear the weeds out of their spouting, because it just doesn't fit with the new wall! 😳😂
Great looking screen Shane 👍👍👍... Got me thinking that you could easily do the same type of panelling with reclaimed wood inside the house (future project for moi) also it would make shelf hanging a darn sight easier... Thanks buddy for all the great ideas you come up with... It's much appreciated 😎👍... Have a great day...
No worries Captain 👍👍 Liverpool is doing just fine while l'm mucking about in the shed. 5-2 against Roma last night..Love it👍 Did you see his Shoe Rack video? ua-cam.com/video/lzKhKtCyHjY/v-deo.html
Aclamaciones
Exactly what I was looking for - awesome! Need this very panel built and fold down clothesline! By the way what’s “Too Easy” in German? Can we call you Jurgen …?
G'day Shane. This looks like an excellent doo-hickey I can build as a screen for my Humpy out near Longreach. The western side cops a floggin' out there with the sun. Thank goodness for wall and ceiling insulation. What size steel posts did you use and how far into the ground? Anyway, I do have an Uncle Bob.... Cheers, young fella....Rosscoe
Mate that western sun out there would be an absolute killer!! Mate l used 50mm x 50mm x 3mm gal posts sunk 700mm into the ground. Say g'day to Uncle Bob for me 😂 Cheers mate 👍
Beautiful mate, uh this wasn't put up coz of any neighbourly disputes ? 😳, pity Hills Hoist aren't what they used to be but the Chicago China clothesline looks nice. Gotta love the recycled materials & I just asked a mate of mine to weld me up a pallet dismantling tool so I can get the most from a pallet breakdown, cheers Shane 👍👍👍👍👍🍻
Hahahahahaha....na mate, all's sweet with my old mate next door 😁 Mate before the Reno we had a really big back yard with a massive old style rotary hills hoist...old as the hills but it was a beauty. Wish l had one of those tools...might have to knock one up as well. Cheers mate 👍👍🍺🍺
Question: why use the 3 steel posts; or to put it another way, could you use 4x4 posts? Comments: Those were some really blue skies there. I like the metal fence a lot. You could probably do a video on spacing, setting up a string line, etc. Video was worth waiting for. Good stuff all the way around.
G'day Barry. The reason l used three posts was to add support to the frame because once it was loaded with all those boards it was quite heavy. Mate the weather over here at the moment is AMAZING....not a cloud in sight for weeks! Have a great week mate. Cheers 👍
No l haven't done specific videos on those two Parkey. I have done a video however on how to tie a string line if you're interested. It's a very handy skill to master when working with string lines. Here's the link https: //ua-cam.com/video/Y6ymXxQXvA0/v-deo.html Any questions regarding the gun or the string line, just shoot me a message. Cheers
G'day Mazlan. Thanks mate...glad you liked it. Before l installed the boards l gave the back of the boards two coats of decking oil. I also varnished the edges prior to installation as it would have been to hard to get into that tight space once the boards were installed. Cheers 👍
Mate....great timing on the question....l just put out a video where l discuss just that!! Here's the link to the video. It's a Shop Tour video where l also revisit some of my older projects to see how they're holding up. Check it out if you're interested 👍😁 ua-cam.com/video/gpTlc31u4s0/v-deo.html
How's that varnish holding up in the sun? Any reason you didn't just go for a deck Oil? I'm building a recycled timber cupboard/pool pump house and was thinking I'd just go for the oil based deck Oil. Cheers from Newcastle.
G'day mate....l used varnish as l didn't want a decking oil to potentially stain any white sheets that may flap up against it in the wind. I only ever use an oil based decking oil which takes a long time to dry fully. The varnish has started to peel so l probably will need to go back and sand it off. If l was you l would use a decking oil for your pump house. Cheers 👍😁🇦🇺
Fair do's that looks pretty neat 👍 I've been following you for quite some time now and live over here in Blighty and have taken a right shine to your bib n brace overalls what make are they and who sells them, keep on keeping on 👍👍👍
Thanks Philip. Mate my overalls are from a company called King Gee which is an Australian brand. Look them up online for their range. Hard Yakka also sells a very similar type of overall. Cheers mate and thanks for watching. 👍
Hahahahaha...the great man loves it Visham! He even stopped by my shop last year for a spot of DIY! Check out the video 😂ua-cam.com/video/lzKhKtCyHjY/v-deo.html. Cheers mate 👍😁

That wall is screaming for some accents of creative yard art. Very nice job
Thanks mate...it's turned into a multi purpose wall LoL....Soccer goals, tennis ball return wall, clothes line support etc etc 👍😁
Greetings from America. Just discovered your channel and I love it. Will be a regular viewer. Thanks for all the great ideas.
The screen looks fantastic well done Shane.
Thanks Pasquale...glad you liked it. Cheers mate 👍
WOW that seemed like a lot of work and a lot of materials for a clothesline.
It was a heap of work Peggy but it was also used as a screen to make our outlook over our neighbours fence a little more pleasant 👍
Good to see someone else painting outdoor framework. I even paint the sub frame on my decks - even though I use Protecta-deck strips on the joists. :)
What an absolute beauty.
Thanks mate 👍👍
Wow so beautiful. That looks awesome. We'll worth the time 😊
Cheers Estelle....glad you liked it 👍😁🇦🇺

Can you build a structure taller than the colorbond fence? I wonder what the neighbours said.
Hi. Buddy, love your video's you make me believe I can do it too. Alan from England (new to your Chanel)
Awesome...thanks for that Alan and welcome to the DIY For Knuckleheads Community 👍😁

top tip...paint frame before installing lol

Nice done, saludos
Thanks Marcos 👍👍
Mighty fancy for a clothes line. I'm impressed! But I do have a question. That clothes line will hold a load of men's pants? It's sturdy enough?
Thanks SandiRose 👍 The frame work is plenty strong enough but l dare say l'll have to retighten the lines from time to time. Thanks for watching 👍😁
Looks great me olde Knacker

Im guessing this build and video editing was good therapy after yesterdays 5 - 0 thrashing !...:-)
OMG.....what a flogging! I felt a bit deflated after that one. Cheers mate 👍

In hindsight would you have noggined, painted and framed BEFORE you bolted to the metal??. Seems easier that way. Jus' thinkin'...
Yeah...na it was pretty easy once it was erected William. I don't think l'd do it any other way but maybe l'm mistaken. Thanks for watching mate 👍
