Not even 4 minutes in and I’m so stinkin happy with the detail! I work for an electric company, and am so glad you brought up 811! It’s so important that no matter how small/ big your project is, anytime you are digging you need to have your utilities marked. You may not have underground electric service (which if hit while digging can be extremely dangerous) but there could be gas lines and so many others. Thank you for bringing this up! Now back to the video lol
Using the speed square as a physical guide when cutting the post with the circular saw is a GREAT tip that I never thought of (and I have experienced the imperfect cut on top). THANKS!!
First of all I want to say - HOORAY MONICA'S BACK! Secondly this was terrific! Such a thorough explanation of everything. Directions, tools, supplies, dos and don'ts that everyone can follow easily! I find these videos so helpful. Please give us more!
Thank you thank you thank you! I love your videos and how clear you explain things and make it completely doable for those of us that have no clue of where to even start. As a newly single mom, I am just now getting comfortable with tools and still trying to figure out how to use them to get all the stuff done on my house that i need to! This video helped me in more ways than you can possibly imagine!
Thank you for this Great Inspiration. I‘m searching so long for something like this for our garden. We have a Pool too, but a Little bit smaller. 😄 greetings from Germany
We did the same privacy screen project on our zero-lot property. We had to custom build it and used the mobile WoodMaster app to handle the spacing and measurements. Much more private now sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee :)
Miss you so much, Monica! Lowe's, produce more Weekenders! This was great. Now mama wants a speed square, circular saw, an impact driver, saw horses, and lumber. Are you hearing this, Lowe's?!
You’re so helpful cause you explain everything... so help me with this.. I live in a Third World Country, most of the houses are made of concrete.. what kind of DRILL is best to use when putting up “whatever on the walls” the type of nails and using the plastic inserts is the normal here. Also if I only had one type of small versatile SAW to buy what would that be please. So hopefully if I can’t buy it here I can send for it from the states. Thanks so much
@Mr. Meeseeks Oh yes it is & funny thing is that you as my neighbor don't have the slightest nerve to tell me to my face to take them down or call law enforcement on me being I know what to do to trouble makers when they start trouble....lol...
why not just putting the posts in place, cement it and then just cut them level instead of risking and fiddling with dirt after you cut them? doesn't matter if the holes are the same depth or not as long as the above ground top cuts are level with each other.
QUESTION: Why did you leave 4" when doing the concrete? I went back to the DIY Basics setting a post video & it looks like they went pretty close to the top. There's no explanation of why one should keep the concrete below soil level. I look forward to more videos!
Concrete around the post right at ground level would hold more water against the post. By leaving a few inches of soil at the top, it gives the water a chance to drain away, prolonging the life of the post.
@@jasoncmccoy - That makes sense. I've always brought the concrete above soil level then tapered it away from the post. That usually adds at least another bag of concrete! My next posts, I'll set this way and since I set my posts 4ft into the ground, it'll be a little bit cheaper! Thank you again for these excellent vlogs!
honestly you should never concrete post in they will rot faster no matter how you do it just dig a hole add a little rock at bottom and fill back in with dirt your post will last at least twice as long
Brandy Wright The best bet would probably be to drill a hole into the concrete and attach a wood to concrete anchor. Similar to what would be used when building a deck. www.lowes.com/pd/USP-4-in-x-4-in-Triple-Zinc-Wood-to-Concrete-Cast-in-Place-Base/3365876
Why do you need to wait 2-3 months for the pressure treated wood to dry out prior to staining? Isn't it already dried out when you buy it? I read all the comments and I seem to be the only one that does not know. lol.
I like the concept, but think the bottom slat should've ended a couple of inches higher. Looks like the backwash line could get kinked, where that slat currently sits.
Thank You Monica!!! Can't wait for your THE WEEKENDER to come back :-) Have a nice weekend!!

I was wonder same thing

@@hotrodpaully1This is the best comment. This is how the utility company install telephone poles.
Not to be dense but all the pressure treated lumber available does not look like that 4x4 or 1x6. Am I missing something ?
If you were putting this on a concrete patio, would you use epoxy to secure the bottom?
Brandy Wright The best bet would probably be to drill a hole into the concrete and attach a wood to concrete anchor. Similar to what would be used when building a deck.
www.lowes.com/pd/USP-4-in-x-4-in-Triple-Zinc-Wood-to-Concrete-Cast-in-Place-Base/3365876
Why screws on the bottom near the plumbing, and nails everywhere else? Why not screws everywhere?
How’s the wood going to dry out in the weather?
I love this girl
What was the cost to build this?
Isn't the reason you predrill screw holes is so you do not split the wood?
More episodes of The Weekender please
What about a bathroom window that's about 12 feet off the ground
Paint it white with masonry paint to match House colour
I was thinking of doing this for the deck I'm about to build! Thanks!
So is the weekender canceled or not?
Lowes Do you have new videos?
Another great tutorial by Monica but please Lowe’s, we need her and the weekender back!
I would love to see Monica again in the Weekender..new Season please..😊
Why do you need to wait 2-3 months for the pressure treated wood to dry out prior to staining? Isn't it already dried out when you buy it? I read all the comments and I seem to be the only one that does not know. lol.
Please bring back the weekender
please bring back the weekender!!
how did this add privacy? this just covered up an unsightly piece of equipment/
The screws will corrode , use coated ones the same as the wood
They were stainless steel, no need for coated
Could make a L shape wall with hinges to access the pipes completely!!!!😊
When is the weekender coming back?
This has been my #socialdistancing go to!
New weekender season please!
you only cut a few inches off of the post why didn't you just dig the hole that bit deeper?
These ones?
I like the concept, but think the bottom slat should've ended a couple of inches higher. Looks like the backwash line could get kinked, where that slat currently sits.
I like that a woman actually does the projects.
Emily V you realize she just pretty much hammered two nails in for the entire project right?..so take your gender bs somewhere else.
What if you're not allowed to dig? How about a free-standing Privacy Screen?
Why wouldn’t you just put the post in the hole and mark a level line on it ?
When does the next season of The Weekender start?
the posts will rot fairly quick due to the exposure to all that moisture from the quikcrete. no?
yeah, they need to put some sealant on the post where the post comes in contact with the ground. that is where 90% of the rot occurs.
Monica!!!!! Amazing see you. So here is the never ending question.... weekender... when is it coming back? 😅
This channel is a great resource for painting info #mmprecisionpainting.
You also want to make sure you leave enough elbow room to service the equipment you are trying to hide.
@ 2:48 I've honestly read: friggin hooters
