I enjoy watching your videos ! I think your funny and a great person very nice and soothing when watching your videos your one of my favs! Awesome job every time and it would be awesome to hang out with you and build ! Lol your awesome brother respect! Much love from Texas!
Been a while since I came to this channel, so glad to see the same affable Knackers humour's in fine form! The investment on the camera's been well worth it, looks great and even better, enjoyable to watch.
Grouse mate, very easy to understand the direction of this build, never heard of the stud finder you used but love the Macsim countersink bit, there really is something to be said about recycled materials & the great tip Knackers jingle is back 👍👍👍
GREAT JOB BROTHER. HERE'S YALL TIP FROM ME. NEXT TIME YOU MIX CONCRETE IN A WHEELBARROW TAKE A GARDEN RAKE TO MIX IT. IT WILL BE A WHOLE LOT EASIER ON YALL. I KNOW AND A ELDER TAUGHT ME HOW TO DO IT THIS WAY HE WAS A 86 YR OLD CONCRETE MAN. & THE STORIES HE TOLD ME ABOUT THE OLD DAYS ARE PRICELESS TO ME. YOU KEEP THEM COMING. WE REALLY ENJOY ALL URE STUFF BROTHER.
Yeah l've seen that being done Keith....l just didn't have a rake or garden hoe available. Thanks for the tip though....much appreciated mate and thanks for taking the time to leave me some feedback 👍😁🇦🇺
Very nicely done! I always enjoy your videos. Your delivery and the jokes you throw in there even makes it more enjoyable and interesting. I like how through you are and low key meaning not a lot of fancy moves or motions. Thanks for always putting out great videos and I look forward to your next one.
Thanks heaps for that Becky! I'm glad you like them and l really appreciate the feedback. I just snuck over to your channel and had a look at your first couple of vids. Good work and keep it up...it becomes very addictive. Cheers 👍😁
That was an awesome project Knackers, and grouse to see you back mate, it's been a while between drinks and i've been thirsty. Anyway Shane, stay healthy and happy, and i'll cop ya ron.
Neighbor are going to have some great videos to share also. 😙 I think I would put up walls that way you can shower and then put on dry clothes before you go inside the house.
wow that looks awesome Shane, I have to say I love how the concrete slab turned out. I'm hoping to make a garbage bin next year with a concrete slab for a base and I learned how to do it with this video. Thanks very much for another awesome video, hope you have a awesome day! :)
Great project for Australia or the Caribbean uncle K but it would only get used here in Wales for about two weeks a year, otherwise I'd freeze my assets ! Great project mate👍 ✌❤ Bob.
Great shower video knackers!! If i had to pick on something though its on kurts work installing that breech onto the wall. Little higher and some wider packers as im sure they split or have split by now with that screw placement.
I love my outdoor shower. Makes it nice in the summer not to have all the added humidity inside the house since I live in a place that gets really humid in the warmer seasons! Plus if I'm really dirty I don't drag that inside.
@@diyforknuckleheads I don't see a shower curtain on yours, but maybe you're not as bashful down under. I made a big semi-circular one out of galvanized electrical conduit that I made round by forming using an old wagon wheel my wife had saved from the farm she grew up on. Stay clean!
I would have put some type of protection on the wood from water . If you oil the forms and then pressure wash the boards are good for another project. My question is if you get 10 inches of rain who needs a shower step outside with a bar of soap. Looks very nice its got me thinking. Thank you
Mate, we uncovered a heap of them when we pulled up the slab from the old house during our renovation...good find! There was a brickworks in the area many many years ago which no longer exists so it's good to have a piece of local history put to good use. Cheers 👍😁
I did, been ogling you channel since your raised beds. Your natural way of doing the vids is what appeals to me and the others. Giving many the feeling that we all can if we just try. Got my own raised beds here in Belgium now. When they finally approve my application to migrate to oz or a company sponsors me I will definitely make that outdoor shower.
You made the slab level? No fall in to the floor grate? What was your plan? To sweep the water into the drain after every shower? I would have put the drain into a outside corner away from the house with a small fall (3%) to collect sand and water which would be easy to maintain. Otherwise great job. Perth summers are roasting hot and dry so being built on sand no plumbing for gray water is required. I'll be using 100mm of river stone for a base.
Fantastic video for sure. I know this is a long video @ 20 minutes so you maybe wanted to speed up some of the footage. But say for example you have some of the technical footage at 8x speed it could have done with being brought back down to say 4x speed to better get an idea of each step as some bits looked a little bit too fast. I shall be calling the AUS police to report you for no dustbag or dust collection on the old Dewalt @ 2:28 in and recommending a 20 year sentence :) Fantastic video and effort, watching from London, UK. I found and subscribed to your channel when searching UA-cam for a easy pallet disassembly video and yours was the one I watched. Thanks and a thumbs up on the vid!
G'day Ryan...glad you liked the vid mate! I know 20 mins is a long vid but there was lot to cover. Because of that you really need to speed some things up to get the time down. People click off in a milli second here so it's a tough one as a creator of videos. Cheers mate and l really do appreciate the feedback 👍😁
Any advice on doing a slab in the middle of backyard, with no plumbed drain? Yard has decent percolation in that area. Thinking about a slab like yours but with a perimeter of pebbles to immediately take up some drained water, then rest can percolate through soil.

G'day R.B....Glad you like the vids 👍👍 I was going to build a privacy screen but l wanted to keep it open as it's quite a narrow space between the shower and the fence. its best to mess up your new tools right of the back then you don't have to fuss over them it's like the first scratch in a car. i'm hoping to build one of these this summer thanks
Great build Shane it looks fab, could you put some treated timber or something around that concrete base, just to protect and/or show it off a bit? Barry (ENG)
Thanks Barry. I'm growing grass right down the side of the house which will grow to the top of the shower base which will make it blend into the surroundings. Cheers Bazza and have a great day mate 👍😁
Shane, I was talking to a DeWalt agent bloke and he told me that within a couple of years, DeWalt won't have any power corded tools except chargers. I'm guessing Makita etc. will be doing the same. Anyway, could you have given the backboard a coat of something before hanging it? Just asking, but I just like the simplicity of it. Gunna make one for my Humpy out west where that black clay soil, when wet, sticks to my boots like glue. Cheers
Yeah Rosscoe l don't doubt that. I still prefer things like the table saw to be corded....there's nothing like the constant stream of 240 volts and not having the issue of flat batteries. In regard to the backboard, l want to keep it in its raw natural state...just like driftwood you drag home from the beach. Aaahhh....good old black clay...dont your love it! Have a goos one mat👍👍😁
The shower set (breach) was just simply screwed to the connections coming out of the wall. From memory you can see that being done in the video. If your spigot is nearby you just need to connect the shower breach to the nearby spigot via some pipe work.Ask at your local plumbing store for the right connectors. Cheers 👍
Thanks mate....you can find all about how l connected the plumbing on my Blog Post....here's the link and thanks for watching 👍😁 diyforknuckleheads.com/diy-outdoor-shower/

Any advice on doing a slab in the middle of backyard, with no plumbed drain? Yard has decent percolation in that area. Thinking about a slab like yours but with a perimeter of pebbles to immediately take up some drained water, then rest can percolate through soil.

love it. creative and handy.. however a bit of creative criticism is needed.
this can't be done in the zones where snow and ice is due to frost wedging. what will happen here is water (saturated soil) will accumulate in the soil and thin layer of crushed stone beneath the slab and turn to ice. effectively pushing the whole slab up, along with the drain. possibly breaking it down the road.
**needed to be dug down 6" and add at least 4" of gravel then your layer of crushed stone.
Thanks for the heads up mate. 👍 Good to know for those that live in snow zones
