Similar here. Keto 1 year carnivore 6 months. When I quit all carbs 6 months ago my fasting blood sugar got stuck at about 100. Almost never changes. Fasting insulin is below 2. Back when I was including carbs my morning blood sugar was 70-90 range. My theory is my body makes the glucose from excess protein and my insulin response is balancing my blood sugar where my body wants it.
Go figure, same thing happened to me ... When I started keto, I initially had great fasting glucose numbers but they crept up to 105-115 as I increased the protein in my diet.

I am amazed at the effect of Allulose. I received my first order late 2 days ago and immediately took a large doses. The next day the pain and inflammation in my arthritic knee was gone. The problem was from a football injury and botched surgery nearly 55 years ago. I also had a burst in energy and could walk faster and further without a limp. In addition, my lower back pain (from the knee problem) had stopped me from running for over 40 years. I tried a jog yesterday and there was no back pain. My blood pressure problem dramatically got fixed too. It went from 170/105 to 110/60 - in one day. I think the extra exercise helped, but something else was happening. I was getting concerned that my kidneys might be failing. But I think my MTHFR mutation and high homocysteine might be a factor. And I think I am extremely intolerant to salt - which I had been using to pickle beetroot.
Depends on your weight. I am about 85kg, aiming for 75kg (my teenage weight). I suspect that the large dose I took is what gave me the pain relief in my arthritic knee.

I have been paying $350 a month for Monjouro. My weight in last 6 months has not went up but I have not lost weight. I did Keto for over 2 years starting May 2018 until the pandemic hit. With only my change in eating and intermittent fasting 16/8, I was able to lose 98 pounds. I got down to 198. I stayed about 220 throughout the pandemic and then had my daughter in 2022. Keto 4 years. Currently on Victoza. Eat less then 20g of carbs a day. 5’1 currently 58 pounds after losing 30 pounds. I’m at a stall! Need to lose 25-30 more pounds and I just keep pushing through. I may get back on ZEPBOUND to see if it will help me lose. I was on it for 9 months paying $550 for 3 months supply. Didn’t lose a lot of weight but I did inches and about 15 pounds. Consider dropping to 0-10 CARBS per day (10=Max). If you are still eating cheese, stop. Drink only water or sugar free electrolyte water. Check your Dr. Boz ratio daily to make sure you stay in ketosis. Don't cheat. Give that a try for a month.
There was a recent panel of allulose doctors on YT. The comments were the most interesting to me. I experimented over the summer with allulose. Like other posters on this video, my triglycerides and insulin levels went up in blood work, and my HDL went down. Plus two liver enzymes went up. So please test and keep testing - allulose (like everything) isn’t for everyone. Take care.
@ it varied. I made an allulose ice cream, so maybe 15 g in that. Then I kind of got hooked on Rx Sugar snack sticks, so 2 a day? 50-70 overall? I was experimenting. My insulin had gone up a bit when I was just eating ice cream. I have trouble getting enough fat in - makes me sick. So, I pushed my luck to rest the theory. Clearly not for me. Allulose is not only illegal in Canada, but in Europe too, I later learned. It really does help many with glucose issues - I’m just not one of them.
is the price of the 21 day course meant for the affluent only? What income class are you targeting with that cost? $1500-2000 is not affordable for the majority of people that cant even afford health care.

I still think you are right about allulose. GLP-1 stimulates insulin and surpresses glucagon. So the circulating fat is going to be deposited as body fat. Its likely to drop your blood sugar too and I would have thought you could become hypoglycemic.

This year I lost 15 lbs on KETO, then hit a floor level that I could not break through, so I tried the lowfat/nonfat and lean menu which included carbs like oatmeal, and I lost another 10 lbs. So, I'm down 25 lbs for the year, but still at 180 lbs with a fatty "wheat belly" that I just can't get rid of. I will keep trying to lose the weight and keep it off this time. I will be returning to KETO at the beginning of the 2025. What are your suggestions for me to lose the "wheat belly?"

Just out of curiosity, ask the lady with the planter fasciitis if she had been wearing crocs shoes. I had a situation where I wore crocs a lot one year and I had plantar fasciitis. And through doing research on the Internet, found out that the arch in the crocs shoes contributed to planter fasciitis. I stopped wearing them so much and the planter fasciitis went away.
Can we talk about GLUCONEOGENESIS and morning blood sugar? Does it matter? If blood sugar is much lower during the day? Morning blood sugar between 89/105 with ketones around 1.3/1.5 per Keto Mojo upon awakening. Fasting for about 16/18 hours most days. Keto for 3 months.
I found there are also genes that control fasting glucose. Do an AI search. Several genes involved. Dr. Boz nice low, in the 70's fasting glucoses, is N=1. Our genetics are different from hers and others who tell you that you are "failing".

I have interstitial cystitis. Tried 1.5 sardines and had bladder pain for 3 days. No sardines for me. The good news is that for decades in the past I was in a constant flair, but changing my diet has improved my tolerance. I can do mackerel.

If we had infinite time and money we’d never know what’s important. Likely the main advantage of the 21 day challenge is the idea others will keep you honest. Yes I agree - it is expensive and more for us in Australia because of the exchange rate and our economy is not doing as well as in the USA, so we are all really feeling the pinch. But I think there has to be a fee for it as yes they have to cover costs and make a living and I doubt people would make as much effort if it was free. If you’ve paid for something you will put the effort in so as not to have wasted money. But if the cost was halved then maybe way more people could take the course and improve their health.
All of the info in the 21 day course is in her books. Stop blaming her for your problems and do your own 21 day challenge by reading her books. Then do exactly what they say with 0 excuses.

That's good to hear about the mercury. I tested with elevated mercury and am still trying to sort out what it might have been. My doctor said fish but I don't eat that much fish, and if she ate nothing but fish for 130 days and still didn't have elevated Mercury I think I need to look elsewhere. It's coming down now but still unsettling to see you've gotten poisoned some how and have no idea how.

Is it bad to eat sardines for a long period of time. I just discovered that I love the taste and find myself craving them for breakfast and I can easily eat up to 6 a day, 2 for every meal.
48hrs into a 72hr water fast... my second one this year. Right now my ketones are 3.0 and blood sugars 68. My question for all of you struggling to get morning fasting glucose down; what kind of fasting are you doing? Asumming your diet is very low keto, Dr. Boz's protcol would have you eat fewer meals earlier in the day, then progress into longer fasts (36-48-72hrs) once or twice a week. This is also what Dr. Jason Fung "The Fasting Method" uses. It's the only way to reduce insulin enough for long enough to get the ketones up and burn fat/get into autophogy. The more you do it the more flexible your metabolism becomes and your fasting glucose gradually comes down over time. It's something us very insulin resistant folks have to do forever.

Keto 4 years. Currently on Victoza. Eat less then 20g of carbs a day. 5’1 currently 58 pounds after losing 30 pounds. I’m at a stall! Need to lose 25-30 more pounds and I just keep pushing through. I may get back on ZEPBOUND to see if it will help me lose. I was on it for 9 months paying $550 for 3 months supply. Didn’t lose a lot of weight but I did inches and about 15 pounds. Hearing you talk about all this tonight has relieved my mind. So many other keto and carnivore docs are so against this. Thank you! Consider dropping to 0-10 CARBS per day (10=Max).
If you are still eating cheese, stop.
Drink only water or sugar free electrolyte water.
Check your Dr. Boz ratio daily to make sure you stay in ketosis.
Don't cheat.
Give that a try for a month.
Morning blood sugar still hovers between 105 and 115 each morning. KETO for 4 months. However, I've lost 40 pounds. Working on the next 40.
There was a recent panel of allulose doctors on YT. The comments were the most interesting to me. I experimented over the summer with allulose. Like other posters on this video, my triglycerides and insulin levels went up in blood work, and my HDL went down. Plus two liver enzymes went up. So please test and keep testing - allulose (like everything) isn’t for everyone. Take care.

How much allulose were you using daily?
@ it varied. I made an allulose ice cream, so maybe 15 g in that. Then I kind of got hooked on Rx Sugar snack sticks, so 2 a day? 50-70 overall? I was experimenting. My insulin had gone up a bit when I was just eating ice cream. I have trouble getting enough fat in - makes me sick. So, I pushed my luck to rest the theory. Clearly not for me. Allulose is not only illegal in Canada, but in Europe too, I later learned. It really does help many with glucose issues - I’m just not one of them.

is the price of the 21 day course meant for the affluent only? What income class are you targeting with that cost? $1500-2000 is not affordable for the majority of people that cant even afford health care.

I still think you are right about allulose. GLP-1 stimulates insulin and surpresses glucagon. So the circulating fat is going to be deposited as body fat. Its likely to drop your blood sugar too and I would have thought you could become hypoglycemic.

Started with sardines as my lunch daily at work...and learned which ones I liked. The EVOO packed do not have a strong flavor.. and some seasoned salt, or garlic powder helps. And using a Wasabi flavored seaweed turns it into my own sort of Sushi. I don't get hungry, and I feel good. And thank you for clarifying glp-1

God Bless you Dr Boz! This was my first recorded LIVE to watch of yours. I have been struggling to lose weight. This year I lost 15 lbs on KETO, then hit a floor level that I could not break through, so I tried the lowfat/nonfat and lean menu which included carbs like oatmeal, and I lost another 10 lbs. So, I'm down 25 lbs for the year, but still at 180 lbs with a fatty "wheat belly" that I just can't get rid of. I will keep trying to lose the weight and keep it off this time. I will be returning to KETO at the beginning of the 2025. What are your suggestions for me to lose the "wheat belly?"

Just out of curiosity, ask the lady with the planter fasciitis if she had been wearing crocs shoes. I had a situation where I wore crocs a lot one year and I had plantar fasciitis. And through doing research on the Internet, found out that the arch in the crocs shoes contributed to planter fasciitis. I stopped wearing them so much and the planter fasciitis went away.

Can we talk about GLUCONEOGENESIS and morning blood sugar? Does it matter? If blood sugar is much lower during the day? Morning blood sugar between 89/105 with ketones around 1.3/1.5 per Keto Mojo upon awakening. Fasting for about 16/18 hours most days. Keto for 3 months.

I found there are also genes that control fasting glucose. Do an AI search. Several genes involved. Dr. Boz nice low, in the 70's fasting glucoses, is N=1. Our genetics are different from hers and others who tell you that you are "failing".

I have interstitial cystitis. Tried 1.5 sardines and had bladder pain for 3 days. No sardines for me. The good news is that for decades in the past I was in a constant flair, but changing my diet has improved my tolerance. I can do mackerel.

If we had infinite time and money we’d never know what’s important. Likely the main advantage of the 21 day challenge is the idea others will keep you honest. Yes I agree - it is expensive and more for us in Australia because of the exchange rate and our economy is not doing as well as in the USA, so we are all really feeling the pinch. But I think there has to be a fee for it as yes they have to cover costs and make a living and I doubt people would make as much effort if it was free. If you’ve paid for something you will put the effort in so as not to have wasted money. But if the cost was halved then maybe way more people could take the course and improve their health.
All of the info in the 21 day course is in her books. Stop blaming her for your problems and do your own 21 day challenge by reading her books. Then do exactly what they say with 0 excuses.

That's good to hear about the mercury. I tested with elevated mercury and am still trying to sort out what it might have been. My doctor said fish but I don't eat that much fish, and if she ate nothing but fish for 130 days and still didn't have elevated Mercury I think I need to look elsewhere. It's coming down now but still unsettling to see you've gotten poisoned some how and have no idea how.

Dr boz, I've heard you say several times that you do not like sweeteners. They make a mess out of my FBS so I am not a fan. However, your BHB has stevia. Do you have any plans to change it to Allulose? It certainly would help.

Is it bad to eat sardines for a long period of time. I just discovered that I love the taste and find myself craving them for breakfast and I can easily eat up to 6 a day, 2 for every meal.
48hrs into a 72hr water fast... my second one this year. Right now my ketones are 3.0 and blood sugars 68. Been following you for 3 years, doing Keto and sardine fasting has become a spiritual experience for me personally. Kinda feels like I was sitting on the shore with Jesus eating fish 😅. My question for all of you struggling to get morning fasting glucose down; what kind of fasting are you doing? Asumming your diet is very low keto, Dr. Boz's protcol would have you eat fewer meals earlier in the day, then progress into longer fasts (36-48-72hrs) once or twice a week. This is also what Dr. Jason Fung "The Fasting Method" uses. It's the only way to reduce insulin enough for long enough to get the ketones up and burn fat/get into autophogy. The more you do it the more flexible your metabolism becomes and your fasting glucose gradually comes down over time. It's something us very insulin resistant folks have to do forever.
Keto helped with arthritis too in my wrist. I'm an advanced tennis player. You would think my wrist's muscles are strong.
We know you will make mistakes. We also know that as you learn better, you'll do better, and teach us better.
