Upon unboxing, I was immediately upset at how the rails were very noticeably bent. But I kept going, all tools needed to assemble were included ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxqtX4Dxs6aecAZEuz6GY5-d81YecKCshn and I had it set up in about 30 minutes. Honestly I love this thing, make sure to read the measurements and measure your space so you know if it'll work for you. I bought this to put inside my closet, underneath where I hang my clothes and it is absolutely perfect! It is VERY sturdy and all drawers glide easily and mine are stuffed, and they are still flush when closed.
Just watched this for the 2nd time. My inspiration for renovating a 100 yr old dresser. And I'm doing this at the tender age of 70 yrs old (not a typo). I even made a beeswax polish that has a rose scent that reminds me of my mother. I'm using it inside the drawers so that I can be reminded of her when I open a drawer. Thanks so much, Andy, for making me get up & do something!
Oh wow Charlotte, thank you very much for sharing this! I'm so touched to hear I helped in some way with your inspiration - and what an incredibly lovely idea to make your own wax polish with a rose scent - I'm blown away! Best of luck with your wonderful and very special project! 🌹
I have a similar story. I’m an artist that was looking for inspiration and I believe I’ve found it here on this site! I’m 65 and I’m ready to get started with a few furniture pieces. We can do this! 👏🏽
Hello Charlotte, I REALLY admire you, how wonderful that at seventy years young you decided to take the plunge and renovate an antique piece. I would love to know how you make the rose scent beeswax that reminds you of your mother. I am growing roses that remind me of my Nanna. You could even get your family to help you make a youtube video on it. God bless, Wendy
Great great Videos, so nice to see them, please go on ! Much greetings from Lübeck at the Baltic Sea in Germany. I am a midwife and are in a sabbatical time because of the coronamess, in this pause my creativity is bursting out ,now I am starting to flip furniture and old suitcases
Wow - hello to you from California! I am so happy you enjoyed and that's wonderful to hear you are flipping furniture as well as old suitcases! Many thanks!
Love your dialogue while working on your piece. Such a refreshing and unique way of giving your tutorial a life. The piece looks sensational! You nailed it!
You started with a pathetic sorry looking piece with plenty of potential and your patience and vision gave it a wonderful second chance. It is heartwarming to see pieces of bygone days be given some TLC and a refreshing look. I was glad to see the repair part of this video so now I have a better understanding of how things are done for the nitty gritty part. With a stash of furniture I have collected, I am getting more motivated in trying to do something with it to restore its use and enjoyment in a new home. Yes, I love the color you chose and using the wash technique for the bottom which gives it more character and style. The white wax gives a lovely soft romantic feel. This dresser deserved your love, patience and vision, and it is now a lovely piece to be enjoyed by someone who will appreciate and enjoy it. I love your channel and the inspiration you give me.
I have always had a hard time with people painting "antiques". However, there is a point when restoration is just not possible. You did a wonderful job of treating her with respect and really infused love into an unloved piece. Bravo!
I can't believe you are new to this! You process is clear without watching you paint EVERY stroke. Camera work is great and I appreciate the tips! Most importantly, your stories have a 'happily ever after' ending with beautiful outcome with new life rather than adding some good bones to a dump. GREAT JOB!!! I can't wait to see more!
Thank you so much - what a joy to hear this! Yes, one of my favorite parts about this work is the saving of quality pieces from our landfills - truly a win-win. 😊
Your storytelling is so lovely! I feel like each piece of furniture is an old friend getting a makeover.. Sacred sage is my favorite from Fusion paint, its so perfect for this dresser!
Holy Crow!!! What a PHENOMENAL job you did on the drawer repair! Thank you so much! I have a piece missing some veneer on its base. I had no idea how to repair it. Now I do! And using that mold was absolutely right on! I’m just so so happy right now!👏👏👏👏👏 Ps. I’m soooo in love 😍 with that paint color!
You are going to be a UA-cam sensation. Congratulations on this channel! You’ve obviously been doing this for a while and your personality is very inviting. Loved this and your first video, too. I’m going to comment on that video as well, in order to feed the algorithm. 💕
Love the way you tell such a wonderful story of this beautifully restored piece. Like a Cinderella story transforming a neglected piece into a masterpiece!
Absolutely gorgeous!!! It really does have a "dreamy" look. I love that you restored it to its original self and used the original hardware, rather than turning it into a different piece of furniture. I love to see furniture flipped into another piece, but this piece deserved to be restored to its origin. Beautiful work!
WOW WOW WOW!!! U made that into such a beauty. I think u should have gotten a lot more for that. All the hard work and time and it's real wood, large, and so pretty. GOOD for you😊
That turned out gorgeous!!! I love to see an old, unwanted/unloved piece of furniture given a new life! I haven't seen any of your videos before, I'm glad this popped up on my feed and I look forward to seeing more!! 💖💖💖
First time watching your video. Definitely NOT my last. You are delightful and I learned some new techniques. The dresser turned out beautiful. Thank you.
As soon as I saw your introduction, I said to myself , " This lady has a terrific personality and sense of humor to teach as well as entertain us! " Wonderful work! I shared this with my daughter, Sydney, she has refinished 3 pieces already. Thanks so much for sharing the details on repairing those areas! Love it!!!
I too have some repair work to do, on my second project. Andy has given me more confidence to get going. I’m going to use Bondo instead of the 2 part putty that I have. I’ve used it for a couple of repairs and it’s not as pliable as I’d like to have it. Working in small batches will be key, for me. I’m excited for your daughter, Sydney, to be learning and honing her craft. Watching these Fables makes this even more fun than it already was, for me. 💕
Just found your channel. I LOVE your approach to your videos. I feel like I'm watching a special on PBS (which I love) You are so adorable! I am going to share your video on my channel soon!
Wow, thank you so much!! What a wonderful compliment - I love PBS specials too, lol! I had hoped that folks would enjoy the approach, but have been blown away by the positive response. Would of course be thrilled to be shared on your channel!
I am usually what I call a wood purist. I just love stained wood, but...sometimes a piece needs help, and you definitely had that piece. I love your attention to detail. I would say that you lovingly repaired the old lady and now she gets a second life. From(OUCH!), undonateable to someone's home to be appreciated again. Great job!🙂👍
Andy -- I just discovered your channel, and found a happy new identifier to apply to myself: Furniture Nerd! I just love all that you did to this piece. At nearly every step of the way, I second-guessed your paint and color choices. But I'm happy to say you were right every time, and I learned a lot! Please keep your videos coming! P.S. -- You have a wonderful voice!
Wow It was pure joy to watch you do this makeover. How times have changed since I painted back in the 1970's. Better paints better tools and wonderful guidance is now available.
The music is just luscious throughout this video. It is like a movie score... adding to the drama, but not distracting or overtaking it. Just lovely. ❤ Loved watching this video for a second time and enjoyed the process and reveal so much more. Brava!
Wow, thank you Pamela! That means so much to me to hear you enjoyed the music choices - music is actually my "real" job, and so learning how to score something well has been so important to me! Many thanks for watching (a 2nd time!) and for your lovely comment. 😊
The quality of your refinishing and the beautiful colors that you chose as well as the lavender details on the drawer sides made this such an amazing dresser! Your storytelling had me captivated throughout the video, and when you said “with bones like these...” referring to the dresser, I was looking at your lovely cheek bones, and that brought an extra smile to my face. Thank you for doing all the work to make this video, while telling the fable of this wonderful piece. 💕
I have watched so many different furniture artist’s videos but right now you are my fav! 👌 💚 You are a breath of fresh air!! 🌈 Love your videos and can’t wait for more!
Andy this dresser is a stunner. I don't know how long you have been doing the UA-cam thing but I am impressed!!! You are the real deal - your detail work is stellar, great color combo and your commentary was excellent. I really enjoyed watching & listening to you work. You and whoever is doing your editing could take this videoing thing to the next level....whatever that is...film making? Loved it. ps I have never ever given this kind of response to anyone before, and I don't know anything about film making I just know how much I liked it. Thank you : )
WOW - Kathrine..I'm blown away! Thank you so much. I'm very new to the Tube, just three videos so far, but am having a blast getting to combine my love of furniture redesign with my experience as a performer. I do all of the filming and editing myself, so I am very grateful to hear that you noticed/enjoyed that element enough to comment specifically!! Thank you again so much for the encouragement and support. Looking forward to bringing you more stories! 😊
Nice, nice, nice!!! Love it! Love how you refer to the piece as "she", and your voice and enthusiasm makes your commentary a pleasure to listen to. I enjoyed this... Thank you!
Hi Andy, I like your style and how you styled your dresser. You are easy to listen to and you covered a lot of repair how-to's. The dresser couldn't be cuter!! I subscribed.🌷🌷
Loved to see you sand the primed surfaces. Its a step that seems to get skipped in a lot of videos. The difference in the final paint job is astounding.
I AM INSPIRED !! LOVE THE COLOR !! I USED TO STRIP ANTIQUES FOR A WOMAN REFINISHER / REPAIR / RESTORER...& HAD ANOTHER FRIEND WHO WAS A MASTER RESTORER...THEY MATCHED PERIOD WOODS, & FINNISHES...NOT MUCH PAINT...SO THIS IS VERY ENLIGHTENING...THE PIECE CAME OUT JUST PERFECT!!! GREAT TUTORIAL!! ♡☆♡ THANK YOU !!♡
I absolutely love your videos! The MOLD idea is fantastic! I just bought a night stand that is solid wood, great bones and to anyone else they would think the piece was a nightmare! What I saw....is the potential of the piece. I liked, Subscribed and will be watching MORE of your videos! We are on East Coast.
Wow, that's wonderful - it's amazing what can be done with those "nightmares", isn't it?? I'm so glad you are enjoying, and thanks so much for the sub!! Big wave hello from west coast!! 😊❤️
Amazing transformation! I enjoyed watching & learning from every component of the transforming process. You're obviously a pro at every step, but not a snob about it, but rather an encouraging educator! Thank you so much for bringing us along!
@themusefactory1 Hi, I like your idea. I had an aunt wanting to borrow my old cast iron sewing machine years ago, for a stay in Florida. When she returned it she left a note saying she sure enjoyed sewing with "Amanda", which she had named my sewing machine!! Boy did that start something in our family lol.
I name mine. After all they tell me what color etc they need. I promise I'm a normal furniture artist. For example: Faded blue jeans. Is my queen Ann double decker dresser done in DB Bunker Hill Blue with a white wax glaze. Gorgeous and orange NO more!😜😊
Ok I just stumbled upon your channel and oh my gosh you are the cutest. I felt like I was being told a bed time story. Most beautiful story I’ve been told in awhile.
Truly inspirational! Brava! I love the way you want to focus more on the creative side of the furniture restyling and less on the money and gain business side of things that is predominant. That was how I wanted to frame my works on my little channel but without much recognition so far. I'm following you my captain! Kisses from Italy!
Wow, thank you so very much! That's wonderful that you have a channel as well...I know it is so challenging, so much to learn on top of doing the furniture work! Best of luck to you!!
This the first time I've seen one of your videos and I LOVE your work and your demonstration skills! Beautiful color on this piece!! I am now subscribed!! ❤❤
All I can say is WOW! The paint color, the brass, the whitewash finish. Geez, you sure know about products and how to use them. $480? You deserved every penny.
Andy, you are so incredibly talented to repair and beautifully restore a piece like this. Not to mention, make a wonderful video to go along with the repairs and restoration...incredible! The dresser came out fantastic. So many great tips! Love, love love that you are doing this. Keep up the fantastic work!
Loved your introduction it was a blast 💥!! My daughter goes nuts at the mention of painting any antique. Furniture. However you did yours with such grace respect and beauty I don’t think anyone would object.
I’m just starting out on restoring old wood furniture. As a single father with not much extra time I try to find ways to cut corners but I learned not with this. Watching you has giving me many ideas for some of my pieces iv done. You have turned me on to chalk paint. and I’m now using spray can chalk because I can’t afford any of the good stuff let alone one of the brushes. Any ideas. Love your channel and love the fables idea I’m a big reader and like how u fused books and wood. Thanks for all the good content. Me and my son love watching your transformations and love that u show us the numbers as well.
Thanks so much Jacob!! It's true one of the most challenging parts of this craft is balancing between quality work (which usually means lots of steps and a little more expensive products) and your time! Finding that balance and what worked best for me definitely took me a little while. 😊 As far as cost - there are a lot of less expensive paints out there that many furniture artists absolutely love! I've actually never used spray chalk paint, but I hear it can be great. Another line to consider trying is Chalked by Rust-Oleum. Best of luck, and thanks so much for watching!
She popped up on my feed on the 80’s tv stand! Ok I’m a fan. Drool! Inspired! To get back to my first love, furniture that was once was a lady of the curb, turned classy lady of the house.
Breaking the work down into chapters is brilliant. I'm not a natural at this kind of thing so the chapters take a task like this from overwhelming to comprehensible/ doable.

You're a good girl, Charlie Brown.

She’s like a beautiful bride! And the MUSIC, lovely. I felt like I was watching a romance movie.
Hooray! Many many thanks!!
I watch a LOT of furniture makeovers and thrift store up cycling but hands down….. this is THE most beautiful piece I’ve ever seen!
Wow - I'm honored. Thank you so much!
This is just lovely. All of it - furniture, paint color, color wash, wax, stencils, music, the story, your voice - all of it. I learned a lot, too!
Thanks so much for BOTH of your comments, Deborah! Deeply appreciated! 😊
Beautiful!
I agree! So much fun to watch.

This has to be my favourite furniture flip I have seen on any channel. Absolutely stunning!
Wow, thank you so much for such a wonderful compliment!! That's fantastic to hear.
So beautiful. The secret touch of lavender stencils.... she's the belle of the ball now!
Thanks Cheryl!! ❤️
Thank you for taking me on your journey with you.

Thank you - I really appreciate that!! ❤️😊
Couldn't agree more.
I definitely agree. This tuned out beautifully!
Exactly my thoughts! And love the lavender on the sides of the drawers. That makes it even more special.
They made things to last and talented artists like you were made to make them loved for more years!!!!
Wow, what a lovely thing to say! Thank you so much, Kelli!
I can't believe you are new to this! You process is clear without watching you paint EVERY stroke. Camera work is great and I appreciate the tips! Thank you so much, Bettina! Those kitties are enthusiastic "helpers", for sure! 😹
I really enjoy seeing older pieces salvaged and given new life. It's beautiful. 🤍
Thank you Violet, I'm so glad you enjoyed!

Where have you been hiding, I so enjoyed this video. Your super talented, I love your voice and your background music!!!! Thank you!
Wow, thank you so much, Rachel!! I'm so happy you enjoyed, and can wait to bring you more!

Wow! I love it! That colour is very calming. White wax was a nice addition. Great work.
Thank you, Kathy!!
Your use of lovely music is so refreshing! Loved your video.
Thank you so much! Music is very near and dear to my heart - I love that creative part of the process. 😊
Wow that turned out stunning and loved all your attention to detail. I personally love older furniture, it has more character and history.
Thanks so much! 😊 Me too - I think I fall in love with those older pieces. 😊❤️
The narration you provide is as relaxing as watching you paint. Love the before and after at the end.
Thank you, Chalma - that's to wonderful to hear!!
Wow! What a fabulous piece. Your attention to detail is wonderful. I wish I could have you paint my sweet old dresser.
Aw, thank you so much!!
Looking forward to more! Absolutely Gorgeous! Great job!
Hooray - thank you so much!

The best instructions and explanation of refinishing a piece of furniture. Thank you, a bargain at $500.
Wow, thanks so much Pat!
Insanely gorgeous! Love the color with brass. Your videos are hilarious and super professional. Welcome to UA-cam!
Thank you so much!! So glad you are enjoying!!

A beautiful and sympathetic restoration of a glorious piece. Love the lavender sides! Great work.
Thank you so much, Zoe!
Wow It was pure joy to watch you do this makeover. How times have changed since I painted back in the 1970's. Better paints better tools and wonderful guidance is now available.
Wow, thank you! Yes - I wish I had known back in the '90's/early 2000's what I know now. 😊
Wow! A creative artistic effort with a generous helping of practical techniques yields a Phoenix like rebirth for a discard!
I spoke too soon - I think you out did yourself! I'm humbled, thank you so much. 😊
The music is just luscious throughout this video. It is like a movie score... adding to the drama, but not distracting or overtaking it. Just lovely. ❤ Loved watching this video for a second time and enjoyed the process and reveal so much more. Brava!

Omg your channel is absolutely delightful
Thank you Catherine, that's great to hear!!
Wow, thank you so much!!! Really appreciate hearing all of that - and I'm thrilled my cheekbones are still visible! 😂❤️😉
I have watched so many different furniture artist’s videos but right now you are my fav! 👌 💚

A true labor of love - the stencils were a wonderful touch to bring new life to an old classic

Oh so beautiful. The antique dresser, the rehabilitation, the story, the music. I am in love 🤍
Yay, thank you so much!
With the emotional investment you’re giving us on the furniture, I think they need to be named. Suggestion: Bernadette
I LOVE it!!!! 😂❤️
I like that name for such a beauty!
You picked out a good name!
I name mine. After all they tell me what color etc they need. I promise I'm a normal furniture artist. For example: Faded blue jeans. Is my queen Ann double decker dresser done in DB Bunker Hill Blue with a white wax glaze. Gorgeous and orange NO more!😜😊
Wow!!! Beautiful! Thats the prettiest piece of furniture I've seen. So glad you left the scalloped bottom and kept the original hardware.
Thank you so much!
Ok I just stumbled upon your channel and oh my gosh you are the cutest. I felt like I was being told a bed time story. Most beautiful story I’ve been told in awhile.
Thank you so much, Katrina - that's such an incredible lovely thing to hear!! ❤️😊
Unbelievably beautiful!!
Wow, thank you Lauri!
Found this by chance. You certainly have a creative eye & look forward to more treasures.

Loved your introduction it was a blast 💥!! My daughter goes nuts at the mention of painting any antique. Furniture. However you did yours with such grace respect and beauty I don’t think anyone would object.
Many thanks - truly appreciate hearing that.
Loved hearing you detail all the steps. You have a lovely voice and describe exquisitely. 💗
Thank you so much, Penny!
I love your healing ways!

She popped up on my feed on the 80’s tv stand! Ok I’m a fan. Drool! Inspired! To get back to my first love, furniture that was once was a lady of the curb, turned classy lady of the house.
YES!! So glad you enjoyed and are kindred furniture spirit. 😊
You're my new favorite furniture flipping YTuber! Bravo! :-) Serously, your video was very enjoyable to watch.
Oh my goodness - thank you, I'm honored!! So glad you enjoyed. 😍
Breaking the work down into chapters is brilliant. I'm not a natural at this kind of thing so the chapters take a task like this from overwhelming to comprehensible/ doable.
Thanks Lucy, that's great to hear!
