You really were right to be watchful of the geese.....they can turn on a dime, after they have fooled you into believing that they're all cute....especially those fluffy babies....WHEW I'm glad you made it out!
Is this not the most refreshing furniture flipping channel??? You are delightful to listen to and deliver your instructions with humor and detail. Since I just discovered you today it looks like a binge watching sort of day. Keep those fables coming. 😀
Thanks! Yes - for many, I think the answer is the same as yours! Meg had another little table in that room that had some distressing, and so we figured a touch of it would allow them to "marry" together better. 😊
This video is just another way in which you separate yourself from the pack of furniture refinishers out there. Practical, approachable and informative. Great job!
I came upon Furniture Fables for the first time today. I'm in awe of your talent and expertise. Love your witty humor! Count me in as a new subscriber:) Patty from Georgia.
My compliments to your director, producer, writer and above all your sound engineer. Really! Aside from your great craftsmanship, you have the best video production value on UA-cam. Thank you
Someone commented about your narrator voice, and I agree! You would be so fun to listen to on Audible. Your voice has so much emotion, is clear and easy on the ears! I just had to repeat the comment to encourage you!!
I as on my way to work one rainy morning when right outside my building, a man was cleaning out a millinery shop that he planned to make into a 7-11 type mini market. You can’t be,I eve all the wonderful little wooden boxes & display cases on the curb. I asked him if they were rubbish & he happily told me to take what ever I wanted. Needless to say I was late to work but I got such nice pieces. A sweet box that held embroidery threads is now my jewellery box. I only needed to sand & re-stain & wax it. But there are several other glass front display cases that I’m going to drag out and paint. I like wood so much & never got into painting wood furniture but perhaps doing a few small projects will get me out of my rut. Loved this video & the others I’ve watched. Just subscribed so need to catch up on more of them. As someone else commented, your voice & personality are so pleasant. 🥰🥰 Be well.
Wow, what a great story - thank you for sharing!! Those little boxes are such great pieces to practice on, and so many uses - sounds like you lucked out! I'm so glad you're enjoying the fables, thanks so much for subbing!
Glad to have you back, Andy! As I only found your videos a month or so ago, is it too soon to say I love you? Cause I love you. Your soothing voice, your sense of humor, the reality of the creative process-you make it simultaneously magical and accessible. Thank you for all the work you put in to create and post these videos. We are ever so grateful that you share your skill and level of taste with us! ❤️
No, it's not too early! When you know, you just know, right?? 😂 Seriously, thank you so very much Melani, for your sweet, kind comment...such a joy to read! I love this work so much and so it's amazing feel it appreciated and enjoyed. 🌿
This is such a fantastic video and so inspiring! Sister days are awesome, too. My sister is the artistic creative one but you make me believe that maybe I can be, too!
The view on the lake was so soothing and relaxing...I have a coat rack similar to the one you painted and I almost donated it. It is from the 40's and very dark. I think I will work on it! Thanks so much for the inspiration.
Andy, your videos are the best. I have a furniture piece I want to upcycle. Watching and listening to you is making me more confident. I have learned it's only paint and it can be fixed. I need to know when to sand and not to sand. I appreciate you and love your book of the week club. The little table is so much better now and I kinda liked the little wheat on the corners of the box. Have a great week and see you on the flip flop. Karen Carolina Girl
Oh Karen, that makes me so happy to hear!! Yes - only paint. 😊 Thank you so much for watching, and for your sweet comment. If you're on Instagram, send me a pic of your piece you want to do once it's finished, I'd love to see it!
Thanks Caroline, I appreciate that. For sure, a huge part of this work is letting yourself try new things out without fear of deciding to change it up. 😊
Now look what you’ve done…inspired me to use the upcoming winter months to work indoors on mini projects!! Oh my!! Keep the videos coming, Andy! I’m enjoying them SO much!
Thank you so much for this! I am thinking of diving in but didnt realize the impact of the tiny furniture and how it can transform a room! Love your videos!
Thanks Raylene, so glad it was helpful! Yes, they for sure can pack a big and important punch and are so great for learning on. Whenever you choose to dive in, I'll be rooting for you!
I have been doing little projects all along not realizing I was practicing! Lol. Thank you. Btw. When I was little. Like a toddler little. My mom took me to the zoo. I remember hanging onto the chain link fence, I could not reach the top. A goose came up to the fence and bit my nose!
Hi Andy, loved these three projects, you and your sister look like you have a lot of fun together ,that's lovely to see, I have the used the mineral paint by fusion and yes it's really really l lovely paint to use and the colours are in so many shades and they just brought another two colours out not long ago, thanks for sharing I looking forwards to the next furniture fable, take care all the best Mary in Australia 🌻
Love it!! Im making a stab at painting some old terrible cabinets in my work shop. I now want to dress them up and give them some life. I must shop for more supplies!
Great episode! I like your outtakes at the end - and especially loved that little table. BUT don't let your guard down around geese. Dangerous creatures. ;)
Very creative use of your sister’s ancient wall paper. This approach allows folks to blend an item with their existing color scheme. Thanks for the tip!
Thank you so much! Yes, whenever possible, working with what we already have on hand is great...that paper was so pretty, it was like it was meant for that little table. 😊

You need to read books for Audible! You have the best voice! We had a “pet” goose growing up and he was MEAN! He would chase us and tackled my cousin! He bit a neighbor too. When people came to our house, the goose wouldn’t let people out of their cars🤣. When he started roaming the neighborhood my mom and dad sent him to our friends farm.
Oh wow, thank you for sharing that!! 🦆 I KNEW there were other folks out there like me who know about the villainy of geese!! 😂 And thanks so much - what a nice thing to hear about my voice. 😊

Hooray!! Thank you so much Sara, and LOVE the Mother-Goose reference...😂🦆 Also, so happy I could inspire your condo color palette! Of course, I found that bauble shopping with my sister...😊😉
Loved the rice paper addition to the small table. I would have done a small border stencil on the top of the table to match the rice paper, maybe in cherry red. Enjoy watching your videos. I'm not a furniture flipper but it still relaxes and entertains me to watch your channel!

I made a mini jewelry box while at my beloved grandma's house the summer after 7th grade... you've inspired me to prepare for my big project, 44 years later 😅
Love these little pieces today! I’ve been thinking about all the “small” projects I have waiting for me and I think it will be really good to switch it up and do something small. After I finish the table I’m working on, of course! 🌸
I had the same thought. I usually have several projects going at the same time because I get bored. Mixing in a few quickie projects while working on a large one helps with the boredom. Love the shape of the little table but not so much the heavy gilding. Sorry sistra-friend! 😔🥰🥰
Dear Andy, missing your creative and enjoyable Furniture Fables and your sunny face! My heart goes out to you 💔 with the loss of your sister. I am so sorry for your incredible loss, and again, thank you for sharing your wise and encouraging words. Looking forward to next Saturday, and bringing back some fun fables. 😊🙏
The little table looks great after it’s makeover. If it had been more wobbly - another idea would be to add three small chunky legs to the table top ie in every third angle
Comment continued on every third angle and flip it over to put a pot plant or candle in the middle of the legs. Ie new use.
