Girl you put your beauty on any piece you want, old or not. You said it best, a piece is only worth what someone will pay for it. You'll never get a nay nay from this girl. Loved how you did this. You are a very talented artist. Thank you for the history lesson, that's information that is never really taught.
You pluck the strings of my heart, history and art lesson in one! Can't tell you how much I appreciate how I appreciate this video. You are a natural born mentor. Have a great weekend from Murfreesboro, Tennessee
I have a secretary newlywed piece from the UK that's gorgeous. I was so surprised that it was plywood. It was made during WW2 when raw materials were in short supply. It was also a perfect candidate for paint. This dresser turned out so pretty! And I love the scented wax tip!
Liked the History-Lesson! The reason why I love this kind of furniture ( or pretty much such with curves or any kind of roundness) so much is - exactly how you described it - cause my grandparents had them. Here in Germany you`ll find a lot of those pieces, but nobody seems to want them.Good for me ;)) Those furnitures accompanied me since my early teenager-years...and since then they were painted. At first a high-gloss black (yeah - the 80s), but they`re getting more and more colorful. Thanks to you (and of course some other "multicoloured suspects") for all the inspiration and many great tutorials.
Oh girl! I appreciate so much that you gave a history lesson. A lot of people just don’t know. AND as always, your piece came out stunning! Keep on being a rockstar! ⭐️
@@BellaRenovare It’s definitely worth the research. Check out Revival Antiques on Facebook. Huge antique store in Louisiana with REAL antiques and OMG those pieces are stunning!!!
Thanks for the history lesson about waterfall furniture! Way too often I see people asking for suggestions on what to do where people are immediately saying don’t paint, it’s a beautiful antique! Love your finished look!

I am so glad to hear the history of the waterfall pieces. I picked up a waterfall cedar chest at no charge. I have been waffling back and forth on what to do with it. Thanks for helping me decide 😊
So good! Thanks for the history on this piece, now I can tell my subscribers the same thing when they come after me for painting this type of furniture. 🌻🙏❤️
Thank you for clearing up this. I thought the waterfall is pretty and valuable. Makes sense that is has more sentimental value that actual value. I also shellac furniture I think might be valuable so if someone wants to "take it back" it will be easier.
Thank you soooo much for that lesson about the waterfall furniture. I do have that nostalgia feeling but everything I get a piece i notice how it's falling apart. Basically waterfall is 1930s Ikea. I have no trouble painting ikea. Lol
I am going to try and blend today. I do small boards you put on your porch. You know that say welcome or home. I couldn't do furniture. But the process is the same just on a smaller scale. Physically I can't do furniture. But I am able to do something that makes me feel good.
I love the way this piece turned out. I never know when to stop blending or if enough is enough. I've turned my paint jobs into mud more times than I can count!
I loved the history lesson too. Just struggled through having to paint a waterfall chest. Lady wanted it plain white to match her Target furniture. 🤦 I feel much better now. Thanks. 😊 Like the pastel blend, but really LOVE your brighter, unmuted colors. 😘
I know sometimes white is an evil necessity in what we do lol....that sounded so dramatic lol 😆 😂 I see you got through it, but if I was there I would give you a hug lol
Video--fantastic. History lesson-- appreciated. Cloudy blend-- stunning and feminine. That purple hair--WOW! OH, MY GOSH--it really looks so beautiful on you. I dunno, Crys'Dawna, purple may be the new pink! 😘
You have some amazing friends! Love this look. Using the brown glaze really made a huge difference with the tone, but yet you cant it is there. Takes it from kiddy cotton candy to grown uo sophisticated boho. Tons of great info packed into this weeks segment! 💖💖💖
Thank you Crys'Dawna! I always look forward to your cool innovative pieces of furniture. You are a TRUE artist. Keep up the good work. I followed Noels tutorial on this and did it on a huge treasure box and oh my it turned out beautifully!!! I love love love yours too!!!!! It’s so fun to see when other people take an inspo photo and do it to see how it ends up looking! I just love all these colors!! ⭐️🤍💜💗💙
The waterfall sells very inexpensive here. Mo. But there are sets that are so perfectly keep intact & really quite beautiful. I love the design of waterfall, but it's not really popular here. I love the way furniture artists are transforming it into the boho style. Especially when it's a piece that has lost all of its charm by showing its age in chipped & broken veneer. It gives it a whole new life & the boho style just seems perfect for the design of waterfall to me. Great look for this piece for sure.
I did a recreation of this! It came out great. My daughter has claimed it!! I'm super excited! I have a Premier Dixie Belle distributor a mile from my house that just opened. I am so excited. Thank you so much!!

thank you for sharing the history. I'm Australian, so I don't share the same American nostalgia you were describing, but it was interesting hearing you explain the history.

I don’t love this piece, but it definitely looks better than the original. You’re correct when you say something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I wouldn’t want my grandmother’s furniture in my home unless it was a beautiful antique.
Really nice job on this one (as always). Love the wash at the end...been wanting to try this for a while! Also really enjoyed the background info at the beginning, thanks!
I appreciate the information. Yeah, I have always been apprehensive to do much to those types of furniture, because it's old. It's always hard to find nice piece that the veneers aren't missing chunks out of them, etc.
so bonds is SUPERRR handy with these kinds of furniture, you are right these pieces are really hard to fins in good shape and the veneer is usually in awful shape, you can use bondo for to bad repairs :)
Love this piece. I'm a sucker for waterfall furniture. They are hard to find my area. The colors are amazing and the gel stain really changes the colors and gives it an aged look. Thanks for another great video and love that you used the new Dixie Belle brush !!
As always, quality content and superb artistry that leaves me inspired! Looking forward to my Best Dang Brush showing up this week!! It looks like you can really get a lot of paint coverage with each swipe of that thing!
You definitely can, make sure you wash it and kind of play with it to loosen any stray bristles and IF you lose any in your paint at anytime (its normal for natural bristles) just take a high grit sandpaper to it AFTER it is dry and they will come right off :)
Well, interestingly enough, here in the states, these things are hot and selling super high so fast you can’t hardly get hold of any of it. I mean literally. And people are painting them......🥰 a beautiful piece you created!
