Wow!!! I was so amazed at her transformation I ran to the other side of the house to show my husband (who honestly probably couldn't care any less 😂🙈). But this is such an inspiration for an old bookcase I have of similar era.
I graduated high school in 1980, so the 80’s was my decade. That cabinet looked soooo familiar. What a transformation! I especially loved how the VHS drawer now holds liquor. Great job!
That looks amazing, came out really great. So many people throw out perfectly good furniture cause its outdated when really they could give it a second chance at life
Great job! Please continue to create content, Your videos are so enjoyable to watch. You're a natural storyteller and it shows; plus your transformed pieces are beautiful! 👏👏
Yes, 80's castoffs are a treasure trove of opportunities. So many of them are of high quality, and can be had for a song. Great project, and thanks for posting.
It's nice, for once, to see primer being used properly, and this shows you have certain standards for the quality of your finished pieces. Love the way you present them for sale too
You need to have your own show on PBS or HGTV! They don’t have enough programming for regular people who diy. Your skills and creativity are equal to your wit and humility. I love that you are willing to show the imperfections of being a diy enthusiast. It makes me feel like I too can be imperfect and still enjoy repurposing!
I am gen x and this style still graces my grandma’s house, so it’s not for me, but there is some yacht rock loving millennial who is breathless looking at this piece! Also, your technique and narration are amazing!
Yes!!!!! So glad I’m not the only one that sees the potential in these pieces!!! I just redid the one that was in my parents house growing up. Great job girl!
Thank-you for cleaning it like a sea otter, because that is exactly what I do. I hate watching people clean with the same cloth all the way through and they think it's clean. I just found you and I love the way you work. Great job.
I think you are the only person able to keep such a piece out of the land fill in this day and age. That is a real testament to your talent and the reason flippers are so important. Thank you!
This turned out lovely! I have a love/hate relationship with that 80's built stuff. On one hand it's usually pretty sturdy and solidly built(even the veneer and plywood and/or mdf core). On the other.. it can be so dang OOOGLY and weird and that was my childhood era! Fortunately it fills and paints well. lol
Just tripped over your platform and all I can say is: OKAY WOW. I'e thrown away pieces of this style because I thought they were useless. What an eye you have. Remarkable make over . Thanks
Wow, thank you! That is awesome to hear - having grown up with these little "beauties" in the 80s, it makes me happy to take a try at refreshing them. 😊
Wow! A beautiful artistic project with a major helping of practical techniques. The finished piece shows just how far creative vision can bring what appears to be valueless into a new brilliant life.
At first I thought you were putting way too much work into it. But what you've done here is taken a found object and turned it into functional art. Subscribed.

Brand new subscriber here! Wow, I'm just blown away by the vision here. I never would have imagined it could look that good. Also, I love your style of breaking down each step and describing each product. Makes it seem like anyone could do it. I however, bow before your skills!
Wow, thank you Candice!! Really appreciate hearing that - and anyone can do it, for sure! If you ever feel like giving it a try, I suggest starting with something small - a little table or plant stand - with as few bells and whistles as possible. Before you know it, you'll be redesigning every piece you own! ❤️😊
Not everyone has a soothing, melodic voice like yours which makes it so much easier to watch entire videos. Love your humorous side also. Loved this transformation of a certainly outdated, headed to the landfill piece. You did an excellent job! Kudos to you! ❤️

Haha that lock reminds my of the curtained section at Blockbuster when I was a kid, I always wanted to go back there and naturally, wasn't allowed. This brings me back
I think you did an excellent job with filling that hole and mimicking oak. You definitely have an eye for color matching. I haven’t even gotten started with furniture flipping. But I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have started with that set of colors. I watch a guy called dasher restoration. He actually starts with a base color then draws in the wood grain. It’s pretty cool. You Tube showed me your channel. First time viewer.
This was a fantastic video.I am now on the hunt for a small piece to refurbish in that beautiful paint color. That Coconix kit is a great find. And the spray wax? I need that! Looks so much easier than the other types that I've used in the past.Looking forward to more of your videos.🙂

Omg "with a very prominent lock. something that I don't want to think about for too long" 😂
Lol, yup. 😂
Just finding you and loving what you do. I watched this because I have a big 80's TV cabinet that I am thinking of doing something with. Getting some great ideas. Thanks!
Fantastic! Thanks so much for watching!!
I thought "Oh I've got to see this train wreck! You just can't turn that into anything good." Boy was I wrong! The only thing I could after watching this (and also enjoying your sense of humour), was hit Subscribe!
😂 Hooray! Thanks so much for sharing that - I'm glad that ugly ol' 80's piece and I won you over!! Thanks so much for watching and for the subscription!
Yes you can!😂😂. I turned an 80’s bar cart into something better
Haha that lock reminds my of the curtained section at Blockbuster when I was a kid, I always wanted to go back there and naturally, wasn't allowed. This brings me back
Oh man - I'd forgotten about that!! I actually remember video stores pre Blockbuster. 😂
Just NICE!!! what an amazing transformation...
Hooray, thank you!
Fabulous. Thank you for your fantastic channel 😀, new sub from UK
Thanks so much, and welcome! And big hello from California!
The wallpaper is a great idea!
Thanks!
Loved the narrative, and you transformed the tired 80s look xxxxx
So nice to hear, thank you so much!
Don’t know how I missed this 2 years ago?! Gorgeous transformation❣️
Huzzah indeed! 😂
🙏
Oh wow, so glad you found it! Many thanks, Candace!! 😊💙
Wonderful makeover and so fun to watch
Hooray, thanks!
Whoa...great job! Love the backdrop.
So glad you liked it, yes - one of my favorites! Thanks so much for watching! 😊
Neat tip - and thanks so much!!
I LOVE your story approach and your style. You were made for this (furniture and UA-cam) ! I just found you this morning and am now binge watching!
Oh wow, thank you!! Again, so wonderful to hear - I'm so happy you found me, and I'm honored to be "binge-watched"!! 😊❤️
Such a beautiful transformation 🤍
Thank you!! 😊
I didn’t see the potential for that piece. Your re-do is amazingly chic!
Wow, thank you Meg!!
01:22 haha! Yeah. Let's not think about that. The piece turned out beautifully! I like the paint color with that bold wallpaper.
Lol, thanks Rachel! 😅👍
This was a fantastic video.I am now on the hunt for a small piece to refurbish in that beautiful paint color. That Coconix kit is a great find. And the spray wax? I need that! Looks so much easier than the other types that I've used in the past.Looking forward to more of your videos.🙂
I'm so happy you enjoyed, and found some inspiration!! Best of luck on your hunt. Thanks so much for watching!
