happy to see Alison in your vid again. the interaction between Zermatt and Alison is also much more natural in this vid too. 👍 look forward to more collabs.
For the Vietnamese pancake or banh xeo, you're meant to get a lettuce leaf and add a bit of the pancake with the herbs and cucumber, wrap it up like a Korean saam and dip it in the nuoc mam, which is certainly a sauce which contains fish sauce, sugar, vinegar, garlic and Chillies.

Yay, great to see you enjoying some of the food here in Malaysia! 😁 its definitely cheaper to buy food here, right? XD less cost to satisfy your massive appetite 🤭
Malaysia hokkien mee got 2 versions. One is kl black hokkien mee & another one is soup hokkien mee from Penang (prawn noodles). Kl hokkien mee you need to eat once u got the food. It really taste different. When it turn cold, it will became oily and hard. Try it out if you happen to go KL. They use charcoal. Even nicer
Allison, hope you guys did really enjoy your wonderful and awesome food found in Johor Bahru. Have a wonderful day traveling to Johor Bahru....God Blessed You Guys 🙏!👍👍👍👏👏👏🥣🥗🍚🥡🍤🍣🦞🍜🍛🍲🤩😍
Thanks for the awesome video content!! But it is legit, u always make the food feel nicer 😂😂😂 It is also good to see alison back!! I also prefer herbal BKT than the pepper one!! 😎

@geraldine, 讲真的 black colour Hokkien mee also got 2 types.. sg zi char would more commonly serve Hokkien mee using flat yellow mee (used in lor mee) with dark gravy. Another type (less commonly offered but got chance to request it depending on luck) would be KL Hokkien mee (featured in this video), also known as dai luk meen 大碌面 which is thick, round and soft. As a singaporean I enjoy KL mee better due to their lard + garlic + thick dark soya sauce combination. Which may be 重口味 for some folks
@@ngcollin88 Oh, I didn’t know tat. Wah, sounds like KL style Hokkien mee suits me better. I love pork lard!!! 😍 Singapore give too little pork lard alr, not satisfying for me. And some more 重口味 sia! Shiok! 🤤🤤
There are 2 types of Hokkien Mee in Malaysia. The one with soup is called Hokkien Mee whereas the one which is fried is called Hokkien Char & the Hokkien Char varies in different state. The ones in KL consists of fat noodles whereas the ones in Pg are mixture of that yellow noodle with beehoon

definitely a worthy trip to eat in jb ! the cheap but so many nice taste flavour food, the environment, my top 3 here are : won ton mee, char kuey teow, sambal stingray, (and maybe to try the KL hokkien mee , korean chilli sliced meat is definitely out for me...)

Some Malaysian food you really have to go back to the respective state to get the authentic and original taste. Like hokkien mee, you need to try in KL, BKT in Klang, CKT in Penang. It really does taste different.
I'm Malaysian and I really appreciate you coming down to try our dishes even though it's very similar to Singapore. Would be nice to head down to other states and try their food. I still think Malaysian Food > Singapore 😂😅
@@ZermattNeo definitely subjective, I feel like SG's Chicken Rice game more strong. As for places to recommend, try heading to Ipoh for their Pasar Pagi (Morning Markets), often have great breakfast foods there
Food like Nasi Lemak, I agree. Some versions we have same name but taste and made very differently so can't say who's better. We're each better at the versions we're famous for. Etc... Malaysia Bak Kut Teh is black herbal version, Singapore is white pepper. Malaysia hokkien mee is black and Singapore is white. Laksa Malaysia is Assam, Singapore is curry based. Chicken rice 100% confirm Singapore win. Have tasted supposedly famous chicken rice in Ipoh, Penang & KL and the standard is only like our normal hawker. Not even comparable to famous brands like Wee Nam Kee, Boon Tong Kee etc
As a Singaporean and personal subjective view, there are definitely a lot of food in Malaysia that are comparatively better than Singapore (same dish comparison). Such as BKT, Penang Assam Laksa, Ipoh Hor Fun. On the other hand, there are also some food in Singapore that are either better or not available in Malaysia, example : chicken rice, Fried Hokkien prawn noodles, Kway Chap. For the best experience, look for the best food in the respective locality and always happy to see recommendations from all over Malaysia!
