- In this video, we headed over to Amoy Street Food Centre to do a $100 hawker food challenge! I'm joined by my Taiwanese friend @alieats which is also a fellow UA-camr that's based in Singapore.
There's a bunch of hit and misses but overall the food is good. Do take note that most of the stall closed relatively earlier as it's more of a breakfast - lunch hawker.

She is very detailed and sharp. Can really give honest, lucid explanations and reviews. And very professional so not surprisingly she can pretty much remember most of the names of the food and dishes once the stall owners introduced her.

Whenever Zermatt's neighbours see a buffet van downstairs unloading trays of food, they knocked on his door and says : Zermatt, your lunch is here.
For your Black Pepper Beef bowl, you should have added 2 Onsen eggs. Spread the egg yolk all over the Beef and Rice to get a much richer taste. Thanks for the episode.. 👍👏💪

I'm missing Amoy food! Love that Pepper Bowl too....curry puffs, there's a traditional dessert stall also not bad. Yong tau fu stall that has chee cheong fun as an option...
The fish soup, I tried once and never understand the queue for it LOL. It tasted "healthy" LOL! I think it's popular just cos of the fish slices are fresh taste wise nothing much to shout about for me.
There's a famous coffee stall "Hai Nam Kopi"? Their kaya and french toast is made over charcoal and their kopi is excellent. There's a stall that sells yam cakes and chee cheong fun. Love their chee cheong fun. They sold out fast.

That pink rice cake is called teochew peng kuay( 潮州饭果), that goes well with sweet black sauce with Chilli. you can also cut it up and pan fry it with eggs(Also uber nice to eat). You should get megan to go with you and give this taiwan babe alison a shock on how much a girl can eat. The porkchop you mentioned 柴 it means the pork was over done the meat is too dry and stiff.

hi zermatt, just so u know, as a sarawakian, i can vouch that there are 2 sarawakian stalls that taste quite legit at amoy hawker. they r called swan city and sarawak kolo mee. u should try it out and see if u like it. anyway if u r interested, i can also bring u around kuching, sarawak to taste local delicacies in my hometown. no profits for me, just that i love watching u eat and would definitely like to see how u rank sarawakian food as an overall.
