Been an Xbox user since the 360. Personally, I have no affiliation. Just use it to play games on. So it meets my needs. Got a PS5 when it became more easily available and have played a couple of exclusives on it, Bloodborne, Shadow of the Colossus and a couple of others. Currently, for new games I look at where I can get it cheaper, which is usually Xbox. I’ve also played a load of games via gamepass so that’s a useful option I’ll continue to use while I can afford to.
Unless you buy a Switch a person can not go wrong . Most all new game releases and games coming out for 2025 play on PC, ,S-X and Ps5 anyways . I just bought a $500 Ps5 with disc drive because I consider playing new games fo $500 a cheap price to pay . I was buying a $1000 PC to play games on. My phone does my internet stuff fine .
This is dumb. If Playstation 5 Pro has to cost 700.00 for its upgrade, how much would a next generation Xbox cost right now? At least 900.00 to 1k. The tech has to go down in price in order to make a big jump at a good price, and the only thing that makes the price drop is time. Terrible take by professionals.
They should fast track their handheld because a handheld + gamepass would be killer. Also, just focus on games - a new console doesn’t matter if there’s no good games to play. And I don’t mean AAA games, just go for singles and doubles. Leave the AAA to Sony and carve a new path into indies, 2.5D, Single and double A games. If they could do a solid, new game every 3 months, that would keep people on game pass
The gaming market is just as cultural as it is logistical. During the Xbox 360 days, it was cool to own an Xbox. It was the place to play mature, blockbuster level games, whilst having the most accessible and effective online ecosystem. Since the Xbox One launch, it feels like that ghost still looms and haunts Xbox till this day - an unshakable stigma. This is why I think Xbox would benefit so much from a total rebrand. Ditch the corporate marketing and start appealing specifically to kids and young adults again. Give us a clean slate. New console, new UI, new social features, new games. Draw a line in the sand and make a clear destination between the “Xbox One” era and the new era. Lean into what originally made the Xbox platform worth investing in.
What's the point of rushing to next gen? 3rd party devs are not going to develop just for a newer Xbox. Like it or not, 3rd party devs will be developing with Switch 2 as their minimum. If it runs out Switch, it won't be that much more impressive on a 'next gen console' They can't even make decent games in house so there is absolutely no point.
These guys saying that the current consoles already being 4k makes a next gen refresh useless this time around, completely goes again everything PC gaming is doing ATM 😂 The excuses these fools continue to make for Xbox is COMICAL!!! Xbox can't make games atm, you think they're gonna make a new console??
Max did make a good point about the next Xbox hardware feeling similar to a Dreamcast situation. I don’t think them launching early is going to have the same effect as it did launching 360 early. Xbox had a ton of momentum going into 360, the opposite is true now.
I would really like it if xbox released a more powerful console. Streaming is dependent on an outside source to play games. Streaming also has lag and compromises. I would want the new console I will spend the 700 bucks to have no compromises.
I wish anyone the best that still has their Series X. I caved in and let GameStop pawn mine off of me. Sony’s strategy is traditional but it’s been effective with the experience. That new UI and controller speaks volumes
I still have mine and honestly have not used it in forever. The lack of exclusives has completely hurt the system. I still have mine because I want to play the new Gears of War once that comes out. Other than that, I would've been sold it. Such a powerful machine going to waste
@@HeIzCisco the problem is the focus on exclusives and not what other games are available on the console.. I have over 300 games and game pass gives me more to play, focusing on just exclusives defeats the purpose of gaming in the first place when that was never the point to begin with, the point of gaming is to play the games you like and enjoy, not what games are exclusive to the console.
Sony's strategy is literally rinse and repeat and the only exclusive they have that you can play with friends on is helldivers 2.. I'll still take Xbox any day even with it's faults and if it gets bad enough i'll still own one and probably get a pc eventually for any games that are "console locked" lmao. I can tell a lot of people nowadays aren't real gamers and only focus on the negatives and not the positives. Build your library of games more and you wouldn't focus on just exclusives. PlayStation's controller design also hasn't changed once in years and feels too small and basic in most people's hands, whereas the Xbox controllers take actual skill to learn how to be good with. Wow a swipe pad nobody asked for, so cool playstation.. Lmfao.
@@kxngreal485 I hear you completely. The attractive thing about playstation and it has been this way since the PS4 are the exclusive games. This is why they are beating Xbox in sales. Granted, this generation of consoles has been disappointing in that area, Playstation at least can say they have released more exclusive games than Xbox this generation. Which is why people geared more towards them. I think as a console the Xbox is better , but it does not attract people due to the lack of exclusivity. People say "Why would I buy an xbox to play the same games that I can play on a ps5, while also being able to play playstation exclusives that I will not be able to play on xbox" Only thing Xbox has going for them is the game pass. Other than that, they are completely weak in comparison to playstation. This is coming from an xbox fanboy myself.
@@HeIzCisco sales don't matter and shouldn't be the basis of the whole console wars argument. Sales don't show if the owners actually use the console for gaming or entertainment just that they bought said console. Kinda defeats the whole purpose of gaming honestly.
Ryan really regrets his PSVR2 purchase haha. He also describes Microsoft as smart for skipping vr and skipping mid gen refresh like they make all the right choices with hardware when they tried to give us the kinect.
I dont think the hardware is the issue. Gotta keep in mind that games sell hardware. I think that they are also confusing consumers with all these different strategy, i.e. streaming, and announcing handhelds. I used to a Playstation guy all the way. That changed when the Xbox One X and gamepass.
This shows that corporations aren't the only ones that are “power” hungry. The series X is powerful enough. They still haven't fully utilize the full power of this beast of a system. I can only speak for myself, I just want more games. Don't need new generation anytime soon.
Game Pass is still a great value. But, other than that, there has been no reason to own an Xbox for the last 10 years. There hasn’t been a single must have exclusive.
Gears, Halo, Forza, and other exclusives are actually worth having an Xbox for. Xbox's main issue is lack of exclusive single player games that play and look like a blockbuster movie. Honestly though until last of us 3 comes out or a new spider-man or the next god of war, there's really no reason to own a PlayStation either. Guess that's why pc is best bc it can play any game.

Too bad it's really not worth owning.. Not enough games when you can't play any of it's previous gen games that aren't remastered besides the ps4. Most just use it to stream apps anyways and not actually game. Single Player games get old eventually and the hype it creates will kill the company eventually.

* PS5 Pro comes with 2 terabytes out of the box. You don't need to stand for free just because it came with the PS5. And studies show that even if people buy the disk-based PS5, everybody buys digital games anyway. We are sucking up plenty of materials in this world today, so it makes sense that they're just putting every optional thing in the Box for everybody to maybe use or not.
Launch the next one along side the GTA release, bundle in free gamepass like you used to get free Xbox Live for a month or 3 and make it more powerful than anything and you’ll get people back in to Xbox
These new consoles are feeling less and less important if we're still able to play most of the new games on the old hardware. I mean, it's good for the consumer, but it'll less reason to buy new tech.
I mean the series X is still a very powerful console just behind the PS5 Pro, so MS is not in a rush to make a new one just yet. I think what MS needs is better bundles and some discounts on their current-gen consoles to push sales and bring in new players.
Damon, your math isn't mathing. It's actually just in line with the Xbox one and PS4, where it was two to one. Also hardware sales don't generate the revenue people think it does. Just because the system sells for 500 doesn't mean they make 500, they're actually making closer to $20 a unit sold...so Xbox game pass makes Xbox more money in two months than the PS5 generation has made all time.
Xbox will undoubtedly aim to replicate the success of the Xbox 360 by launching their new console ahead of PlayStation, striving to capture the market first.
Four years in, Xbox should permanently drop the price of the series x and series s to $300 and $200. It comes down to value. They have enough excellent games. The only true barrier is cost of entry. And cloud streaming is a supplementary feature. It isn’t an xbox as they say. And for the time being, i wouldn’t mind a first party xbox “portal” done right with wifi 7.
Enhanced to me means 4k/60fps from 4k/30fps and the Ps5 Pro does not have a lot of that on newer games . The base Ps5 has over 150 Ps4 games that were updated for free to 4k/60 as it is.
Sure it would be nice for them to release a next generation console in 2 years and before Sony. But only if they have the games to back it up this time! GamePass releases has actually increased recently, but they need to improve on quality too, as some games look somewhat wonky or unfinished. They also need to work on the menu UI, I know you only use it for a little, but it is just bad as of now. They also need to improve the standard controller and finally release a new Elite controller. And yes a handheld would be nice too.
Why would they improve on quality , people are giving them money every month regardless of what they shove on gamepass your opinions means nothing but your money means everything , simply put you don't have a say paying for gamepass and refusing to leave it when a bad game releases Gamepass was always anti consumer trash
Gamers wanted exclusive games to xbox only. Like Xbx 360 era. Never happened. Just get or build a pc. And gamepass. It's the best investment time for long-term gaming hardware. Pc is King. 🤴
I swear they did a video on Ign last week where the entire panel agreed Xbox was doing better than playstation this generation? Yet here they are discussing the fast tracking of an Xbox console 😂
Loving my £250 laptop with its integrated graphics, plays all the best Indy games and a surprising amount of 6+ year old GOTY classics seamlessly and plugs right into the TV and BT Xbox controller to game from that!
I am a true believer in if they haven’t figured out how to utilize the full power of something then it’s not obsolete and still has more to offer. With that being said Xbox Series consoles haven’t been utilized properly and always can do better to the point where patches and updates last years for games. A game at release, then 6 months, to 1 year and 2 years all have notable upgrades in each update.
Sony just caters to their audience! Ps Vita, Ps VR, PS Portal, PS5 PRO! Ps portal $120 subscription with cloud streaming and keep all your games. Man xbox should spend more than 67billion to get good multiplat games i rate LOL. Xbox $240 gamespass...........T_T
The hardware isn’t the problem it’s the software, at least in comparison to PlayStation. Why rush a new console if the price to performance isn’t there, why not just let the technology develop and release a console when it’s ready?
I think the next console generation should focus less on the expected graphics boost and more on doing things with cloud computing and AI. Xbox needs to stop releasing the same year as PlayStation and do something dramatically different.
I don’t think it matters. Everything is an Xbox now according to their advertising. As someone who’s picked up almost every NA console at launch, I’m doubtful that I’ll even buy the next Xbox. The current console doesn’t provide me anything the I can’t get on my other consoles, steamdeck or PC. They need to have something to differentiate themselves if they want to be successful in the console market.
Fast track a new xbox no one will buy other than the most hard-core, especially after the moves they made? Fast track a console that will still not be utilized fully cause 3rd parties will still not prioritize it over the much larger ps5 install base? Seems like a great move.
It’s ridiculous releasing a new console. It’s takes these devs 5-7 years just to release a damn game. A handheld sure. Something along that lines but whole new console isn’t needed unless it’s gonna be something that brings epic and steam to the console
Xbox and Sony should work together and stager console launches by years apart so for a few years each of them have the most power and then they will each sell more consoles.
Hell no! Why would you do that. Honestly this gen seems like a money grab. All the games out right now would be fine on the previous gen. Oooo we got faster load times with this gen, and the best controller ever made (ps5) that's it though
Lol, there are no untapped audiences for hardcore gaming in the western world. People who don't play games don't play because they don't like it, not because they can't afford it.
If the xbox stopped making consoles, are you willing to pay 800+ for the next Playstation? There needs to be some form of competition to regulate prices.
@gerrick10 if xbox stopped making console, now there's little reason to even buy consoles. The last console left will eventually fall too. That's just 1 step closer to the death of all console. Everyone might as well be a pc gamer
I think one of the reason Xbox is putting their games everywhere is because it'll be cheaper than putting their actual console in markets where PS is and they're not. And, it's case by case, so some games will go to PS and some won't. If Xbox does port all of their games to PS and or Nintendo, then they might as well be a full-blown publisher. Otherwise, PS usually copies MS, but PS gets all the praise.
@ it’s not a necessity though. I bought it because I sold my house bought a new one and had a bunch of profit. I didn’t feel like it was a requirement and it don’t seem like any game is going to require it
I will say this, I have a iPhone 16 Pro Max and there is not a Night & Day difference per se but I can definitely tell the difference between how my non pro vs pro iPhone ran but definitely still a cash grab lol
I feel that this discussion puts too much credit and praise for streaming games. The focus needs to be kept at ownership of products should be kept to the consumers. Gaming has a level of collecting and changing the idea of games should just be streaming moving forward is dangerous for the industry as a while. We NEED consoles and hardware. The industry should be focusing on cutting back unnecessary things in the development phases (cost of AAA budgets, where is that money going? Is it really going to the development of the game or paying executives? Why are game files so large now? Why are we not optimizing things to take advantage of the technology that we have.) This SHOULD have been the era of 60fps 4k. We have seen time and time again that things have been half assed and this generation is a fantastic example of that. Another main issue is that we don't have people in the industry who want to make game at the helm. We have too many suits and corpos who's only goal is to meet quarterly earning reports.
Ps5 slim drops price $100 xbox series s $40 off series x free game (Diablo) really looks like they're giving up on consoles and pushing pc and cloud.. and yes I know ps5 raised it's price $50 so it's only really $50 off 2020 launch price
You want to know what next gen can do? Look at a 4090 with a decent cpu. That’s your next gen, it’s not that complicated. The notion that current gen can do already everything you could want is ridiculous. Current gen is already hitting a wall in some cases.

I don't think next generation is coming till 2027
I agree no games take advantage of the technology
Both consoles disappointed in the games department this console generation
If it runs out Switch, it won't be that much more impressive on a 'next gen console'
They can't even make decent games in house so there is absolutely no point.
These guys saying that the current consoles already being 4k makes a next gen refresh useless this time around, completely goes again everything PC gaming is doing ATM 😂
The excuses these fools continue to make for Xbox is COMICAL!!!
Xbox can't make games atm, you think they're gonna make a new console??
This show caps hard for Xbox.
All three push Xbox, but at least Damon doesn't go out of his way to slam PlayStation, like the other 2 does in every episode.
History gonna repeat
That next console gonna sell less than the series x and s
I swear that's the worst argument, I have friends that still use the ps4 because they can't afford a ps5 and don't see a point in getting one unless it's for a game that's console locked. Kinda defeats the whole purpose of gaming honestly.
Ryan really regrets his PSVR2 purchase haha. He also describes Microsoft as smart for skipping vr and skipping mid gen refresh like they make all the right choices with hardware when they tried to give us the kinect.
360 worked because it was a big jump , a new xbox's game library would look largely the same.
The only thing Xbox is fast tracking is their goal towards becoming a third-party publisher.
Gamepass is anti consumer trash
It's funny you say this in fairness I have the 3 current systems (ps5 og digital series s switch lite) I was playing forza horizon 5 just cruising in my Bugatti that I had just hooked up (engine upgrades colors etc) I'm on the road and open up the map setting my GPS towards the highway and as I get there I hit the straight and hit a new max of 268mph as I pull off the highway I pull over into a random field of sunflowers (light my joint in real life) and just look at my car and the surroundings and setting in amazement at how free the game makes you feel YOU CANNOT DO THAT in gran torismo 7 it's all track 😂 no car game exclusive besides horizon for xbox is letting you do that it's things like that that let you appreciate a console for something only it has so basically you on some big bs 😂
What Xbox needs is not an Xbox handheld...it's consistent high quality games
Ps5 pro was best selling console in Japan on release while its also been reported that it was selling better than the ps4 pro on launch in general. It’s not going to be breaking major records but there is an audience out there for it.
Too bad it's really not worth owning.. Not enough games when you can't play any of it's previous gen games that aren't remastered besides the ps4. Most just use it to stream apps anyways and not actually game. Single Player games get old eventually and the hype it creates will kill the company eventually.
@ you couldn’t be more wrong but pop off though lol. Most software sells on PlayStation vs rival consoles.
@@Nonlifting_breezy do you have any proof of that? No? Just bc they buy the console doesn't mean they use it for gaming. They sell controllers more than any other software bc they break easy or people get enraged and break them, and that's just fact. The funny thing is there's people still on last gen consoles and pc so sales don't mean anything. Y'all wannabe gamers are a joke fr.
@@kxngreal485 There was over 10,000 Ps4 game titles made and many good Ps2 and Ps3 games were remade for the Ps4 years ago .
That's enough backwards compatible for the Ps5 for me .

I swear, why does everyone think that every phone out there costs $1,000?…. that’s like saying that a PS5 in general costs $700…
If they do, they need to target some exclusives for launch. They could even delay some games in development and make them launch titles. I do like the idea.
But,but,but.... GAME PASS right?
The answer is NO. If anything this console gen should be extended. This whole era has been a mess. 4 years in and we still aren’t consistently getting games that take advantage of the hardware. We’ve only been getting remakes and visual upgrades
HELL NO as it would bomb based on the current Xbox marketing strategy, buy a PS5 or PS5 Pro instead - and I'm (was) an Xbox fan, but no point as no exclusives.
Ps is going sown though .

Glad I jumped ship from Xbox but I miss that UI
Really? The constant green got annoying, Sony side is so clean.

Sony base ps5 plays better and has a better adaptive controller hell and now even ps portal streaming games without needing a ps5. 0.o
xbox has gamepass $240 to rent COD Bo6 where a base ps5 with Sony's psn get you TWO YEARS for the same price.
Xbox is just a bumper sticker now.
@@toodreammy welcome here brother
@@mrglass7133 there is literally no point in buying an Xbox if you can just play Xbox games on PlayStation
Nintendo is so smart. Just one cheap console with FUN innovative easier to develop games.
And now Sony quality games on their handheld being able to stream games without needing a ps5 is prob the cheapest way to get into the next gen console market. $120 a year plus a ps portal.
Problem is the switch plays 10% of new game releases and the PS5 and S-X play 90% of these new games. Want to play the new "Dragon Age Veilguard " or "Star Wars Outlaw" or the soon to come "Kingdom Come: Deliverance II". on a Switch ,you are out of luck .
There's nothing "innovative" about any games on Nintendo's consoles. Stop it. Even their franchises are the same games folks have been playing for four decades. Open-world Zelda.....SO NEW. Another 2D Mario game....SUCH A FRESH CONCEPT.
no they shot themselves in the foot last time they did that with the 360 then it gave sony an advantage to add things that Microsoft didn't like bluray player ect.. nothing takes advantage of the PRO last minute patch for extra 10fps and reflections in a window, it would be interesting to see a game built from the ground up for it
* PS5 Pro comes with 2 terabytes out of the box.
No. This current gen feels more like a mid gen refresh of the ps4/xb1 gen. Give us a real upgrade with great games.
Microsoft doesn't need a new console to win the console wars... They just need to acquire Rockstar Games. Win win for console and PC gamers
Games not new hardware is what’s needed, this current generation severely lacks the games and a new machine isn’t going to fix anything
Are my xbox games gonna be enhanced like the PS5 Pro versions when the next xbox is released? Will they patch games to bring parity with Ps5 pro? 🤔
Enhanced to me means 4k/60fps from 4k/30fps and the Ps5 Pro does not have a lot of that on newer games .
The base Ps5 has over 150 Ps4 games that were updated for free to 4k/60 as it is.
Of course they are going to be. Look at what Xbox did with the sx, almost 200 games boosted for absolutely free.
Why would they improve on quality , people are giving them money every month regardless of what they shove on gamepass your opinions means nothing but your money means everything , simply put you don't have a say paying for gamepass and refusing to leave it when a bad game releases
Gamepass was always anti consumer trash
Happy with my Series X
More games please!
Sega tried to do that with the Dreamcast before the ps2 release and today sonic games are released even on nintendo consoles !
Even now most ganes are cross gsn focus on making good games quickly in currunt gen thats how things were in every gen before pandemic
Fast track the handheld, take your time with the console.
2026 the year of the next Xbox.
Early 2028 the year of the PS6.
And $599 the price.
Possible!
They should cut their losses and launch a wallet-friendly Xbox themed PC.
They come out with a powerful home console(not handheld) in 2026 and I’ll buy one at launch.
Ps5 is selling better than the ps4 pro though, literally sony said it, what are we talking about? 😂
Was literally about to type the exact same thing. And it’s $300 more expensive than a ps4 pro. It’s selling just fine lol
NO VR, NO GYRO, NO ADAPTIVE TRIGGERS, NOT EVEN HAPTICS = DEADBOX
Sony just caters to their audience!
Ps Vita, Ps VR, PS Portal, PS5 PRO!
Ps portal $120 subscription with cloud streaming and keep all your games. Man xbox should spend more than 67billion to get good multiplat games i rate LOL.
Xbox $240 gamespass...........T_T
The hardware isn’t the problem it’s the software, at least in comparison to PlayStation. Why rush a new console if the price to performance isn’t there, why not just let the technology develop and release a console when it’s ready?
Media should stop Using misleading titles for clickbait
What’s misleading about it?
Xbox got the best games this holidays, indiana jones, next week
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nope, the Series X is good the only problem it has are the developers not using it's full potential
Xbox should stop making consoles and focus on making great single-player games.
How boring would that be.. you should want a choice in the marketplace.
@@zeohblitz exactly! Once the consoles start to cost the price of a PC, there would be no point in owing one.

WHAT NEXT XBOX CONSOLE? Last time the word CONSOLE came out of a MS executives mouth, was when Phil said they can't out console Sony. Prove me wrong there's evidence of a new console coming from a company that can't sell consoles. Again, key word CONSOLE, not hardware like tablets & such.👀

thing is xbox hasnt had a soul in its machine since the 360. a vibe almost.
i think the ps5 is even worse i find the whole system quite ugly personally.
