Elliot Easton is such an underrated guitar player, still killing it to this day!
He fills in at times and plays with the band IMMEDIATE FAMILY.
Probably one of the best bands of the planet and their music is one of the finest ever found
Without Ben this was unfortunately lacking - however it was still "The Cars" and I can overlook this. RIP Ben and Ric.
Love the Cars forever, but makes me feel sad not seeing or hearing Ben. RIP Miss you. You said everything would be alright and it was.
Miss Benj and Ric - pure talent, originality, class!
Class? Are you sure about that? Ric was 40 when he married a 19 year old Paulina. She stayed with him for 34 years and he stripped her from the will completely. That is the opposite of class.
I had the pleasure of seeing this very show in Hollywood. The Cars are a band that I hadn't seen and I wanted so much to see them live. I am so happy I did.
I'm crying for Benjamin...
He was there in our hearts, minds and spirit!!!
Thanks for sharing! Love The Cars, but makes me miss Benjamin so much 😢
Thanks for posting this. This show was a big deal for me to attend. Born in '74 to rock-loving parents, they started taking me to shows in '84, but by then, they were kinda "over" the Cars, having seen them live on most of the earlier tours, and not really into the more synthy/80s direction they were going in around Heartbeat City. Then, of course, the band broke up. But I always treasured the records, and they were probably the #1 band I wish would reunite so I could see them. When Ben passed, I figured that was the nail in the coffin. Imagine my surprise when the reunion record and mini tour were announced. I would NOT miss this, and didn't. A great night of great music. Thanks again!
Thanks for making this available for posterity! One of my favorite bands. Of course, it’s not as good without Ben Orr. But what can you do?
At least they played all the hits.
I’m so glad UA-cam exists and makes this possible. 👏🏻😊🎸
Such a pleasure to relive the final tour of the Cars. I was at the NYC show @ Roseland. Only saw them twice, the other show was in August of ‘79 in Central Park’s Wollman Skating Rink… thank you for posting this performance. 👍🏻❤️🍻😎
Love Elliot Easton's playing
Saw The Cars '79 at The Warehouse New Orleans still one of the best shows I've ever seen. Was hard to watch them without Ben. Rip Ric & Ben
Thank you CARS
For all the amazing great songs. On of a kind band
One of the best Pop Rock groups we ever had. Now that Ric and Ben are both gone they are done live.
But they gave us some great pop songs that I still like to this day. They left behind a great legacy and they made their mark on music.
I like to think of them as the American Beatles. They had so many hits and Pop classics plus two great singers. They had their own style and sound. The first seconds of any Cars song and you know it’s them. So I appreciate them greatly and so did the public.
RIP Ric and Ben
I honestly wouldn't mind seeing them in the fire up the tribute machine again with Rundgren. With that said I did see this absolutely incredible band (I think they are from NY) do a tribute show a year or so ago. Complete dead ringers in look and sound, but would still love to see Elliot in the flesh.
Elliot Easton in fine form here. Great collection of songs these guys left us with over the years.
Pure MAGIC😁 Attended the Boston show, & enjoyed every second of standing in the quarter mile line outside, knowing I would be witnessing my favorite band for one last glorious ride!
Elliott still incredible on lead guitar. Still had it and very tasteful playing..
Sounds very nice The Cars but obv feel the absence of amazing Ben..he was a huge part of the band. RIP Ben and now Ric too.
my favourite band , the cars , great Rick .
I was there this night, up front to the left in front of Elliot. Saw them the next night in Oakland too on Ric’s & Greg’s side. Ben’s presence would’ve been Epic! I have the Panorama flag tattooed on my shoulder. The Cars are my band. They are icons. 🏁🎸🎹🍭
I miss them so much !!
"I'm Not The One" is so hypnotic. Thanks for uploading this show.
Absolutely. That was a stand out for me.
По себе меломан но почему то раньше не слышал эту группу, что очень конечно жаль. Очень воодушевляет . Исполнителям жирный лайк.
So sad without Bennie.
Thanks for doing this Chris!
I Was There ❤
Que emoción ver a Greg con el bajo 😢. Es tan talentoso !!! Y Elliot es un genio de la guitarra.
Thank you for doing this !❤️
Una de mis bandas preferidas! Son excepcionales
Cars Fans - you've got to check out a trio from 1972 named "Milkwood" - 1 album named "How's the Weather" - It's Ric and Ben before The Cars - vocals amazing and Ric's guitar is amazing - different vibe, a bit CSN, but every song is incredible!
Ben & ric are making music in heaven probably writing new material ✍🏻📖🎶🎶🎶I love thair music.rest in peace 😢
I got to see this show in NYC, sitting right behind Ric's wife, Paulina and their sons. What a show. What a shame to hear all these people talking during the show.
That's a California crowd
so underrated imo - epic band

Did they just go with Hawkes playing the bass lines on keyboard?
Yes
Creo que the Cars no continuo ....porque la ausencia de Benjamin Orr se notaba ...y mucho . TODOS ELLOS SON GENIALES MUSICOS PERO BENJAMIN ERA ESPECTACULAR ..
RIP BEN y RICK ❤❤❤
They miss their Brother.
suprised they never got a bassist for concerts since Benj.
Just not the same without Benjamin. But i would have paid to see this. RIP Benjamin and Ric !
Wow Ric really pulled out the diving equipment for some of these songs. But they really couldn't do but about half their songs without Ben. I'm glad they went with recorded bass. I mean who's going to sing his parts. This actually brought a few tears with some memories attached!
I seen the cars live in the 70s and early 80s.i would not go see them after Ben died.nobody can sing his hits
10-11-23: Wow. No Ben. What a difference.
Sad without Ben
Por que não cantaram Drive?
Who is playing bass? And where is he??
Greg's standing right there playing the white bass.
Was anyone covering Ben on bass? It doesn't look like it. Sad, if Greg is tryna do it on the keyboard.
Seeing this you can see how much Bens voice was needed to offset Ric’s quirky voice. A full set of quirky gets tiresome.
No Ben no cars !
whats with no Bass player?
Gred Playing the basslines on keyboard
This is really hard to watch without Benjamin there. His space on that stage is so empty. Respect to Greg for not standing in Ben's place. Sorry, but Ric was awful on Moving in Stereo and Just What I Needed.
You’re wrong. He was great !! A big shout out to the crowd for joining in too.
I agree with everything you said! This was very sad to watch without Benjamin Orr. He made The Cars!! 😥
All good things end,what a great band.The Cars,One of a kind.
