THIS is why it's important to keep live music going. It doesn't matter if it's a cover band or one doing all original sets, it's people like this who get up and sweat and play their hearts out for pennies in most cases. When the COVID crisis ends, go out and rock. Keep it alive!
Yeah, it’s a lot of work setting up, breaking down, loading, unloading. Plus it’s exhausting if you worked all day before a show. Usually for little more than exposure.
As my hero, mentor, and the guy in my profile pic would say, “Too many towns.... Too many women...”
Calvin Roach yoúre damn fucking right- letś rock the world
Couldn’t agree more!!!
Yes!!
My parents are boomers, and I grew up only knowing this kind of music. This song is in my top 2 for all-time favorites. This version was so good, it gave me chills. Absolute perfection!
Couldn't agree more. I come back and watch/listen to this often.
I was thinking, with Foreplay, this band is nailing it. Then she started singing... Now THAT is nailing it.
Right? Spot on cover.
Saw Boston in Philadelphia as my 1st concert on my birthday in 1976. Seen them a dozen times since. Be afforded the ability to travel on active duty, I've seen dozens of bands cover Boston songs. Despite watching this on a cell phone, this is the best cover I've seen. I can only imagine how much better it sounded live in person. 👍👍👍
Buy that sound guy a drink! He knows what the hell he's doing. This was not easy to pull off.
You're on it John C. Reminds me of the early 80's at the Bombay Rock a purpose built rock and roll venue on the Gold Coast of Queensland Australia. Regularly the sound was similar to this and I'd look over to the sound desk and it was the same guy every time.
@@julianstorey2699 Too right. Normally I'm just happy if a sound guy has the wherewithal to scoop the mids. But this guy had everything EQd well, the mix was balanced, and he even knew how to use just the right amount of effects. This is the kind of engineer you bring on the road with you.
I was at a place like this in Royal Oak, Michigan a few years ago. Started chatting with the sound guy who was very near our booth when the band took a break. Said he did this when he wasn't on the road to hone his skills and help out local bands. I asked him who the biggest band he ever mixed for was and he said The Rolling Stones. Damn, no wonder it sounded so good in that room. The drummer was from the Temptations, one of the guys was from Chaka Kahn . . . you know, just your average weekend pickup band.
@@robertd9850 Damn! That's the kind of moment you carry forever.
I know, right? I mean brick walls + roll-up metal garage doors = nightmare acoustics, pro-skills req'd... kudos.
Outstanding! Every musician on stage was at the top of their game. Just a blast to watch this. So good!!
Extreme,cover this!
The best night ever! When can we do it again!?!?!?!?
You did Brad justice! Best Boston cover on youtube!
Gabbie Rae marry me?
This was bad ass! Best cover of this song ever!
That was so good, I want more!! When are you gonna put out an album of classics/ Classic Rock inspired new songs? You could be the one to bring Rock n Roll/ Classic Rock back into mainstream music!!!!😀😁😃😄😆😉😊☺😐😏😘😍😎!! ;-) :-D :-! ^_^ :-) There is money to be made here. You deserve awards. Two thumbs up, way up!!
Can you PLEASE come to Toronto !!!
What an epic rendition of biblical proportion! Bravo!! 👍🏻👍🏻
Man, the jewels one finds on the Interwebs! Seriously, they're all quite proficient, and they all seem to be having a great time. Gabbie has the look AND the vocal chops to match. Support live music!
You could say it took a…. Long Time…. To get that way, eh? Eh?
You could say it took a…. Long Time…. To get that way, eh? Eh?
You can tell they work well together
Gabbe is terrific and the whole band compliments her fabulous!
This is nails
Agree she was on fire.
Damn that girl can SING! Gave me shivers up n down my spine!
Absolutely the very best cover of a Boston song I've ever heard...this band did it so very well. Everyone on that stage nailed it 100%!! How many bands could even attempt doing a song like this one, much less doing it so perfectly?? Tom S. would be proud!
Love the guy on keyboard. He’s having fun
Name one song made in the last ten years as good as this one.
Holy crap, they’re good! That’s the kind of band you want to hear when you’re out in the town on a Saturday night! And nice to see Zooey Deschanel can still belt out the tunes-what a voice.
Gabby Rae
@@williamkaphingst8210 That was a "joke." And her name is Gabbie Rae.
@@dandiego7298 VERY FUNNY
@I HATE CHEESE If you analyze both guitars seperately you will find frequencies that only aliens can produce. Very interesting.
everybody in this production has mastered their trade
from mixers musicians ect... across the board excellent !!!
and Gabbie Rae give me a break sweet sweet sweet !!!!
These guys (and woman) did an outstanding job on this. Vocally, instrumentally, rhythmically just a wonderful job on a classic that will never get old.
One of the most simple basslines of all time but one of my faves
Luv the bass but I also stand in absolute awe of the drummer and KB player
@@douglaswhite7328 AMEN
This is fucking good. It takes seriously large stones to cover this
I keep coming back
@@jamesdavison2927 this drummer nails
Excellent organ tone. One of the most overlooked parts of Boston covers is a good Hammonds tone. You guys got it.
Taylor Rhodes Taylor, I've seen your name a few times dude...are you a big Boston fan? :-)
I'm not a Boston fan, I'm the biggest Boston Fan.
'zactly what I said. Amazing organ tone.
@@james6234 Bullshit. You're in line behind me.
Not overlooked by me - I love bands where the sound is filled out with a good Hammond organ. :)
That girl can sing!!!!!!
Guys... I used to do my paper route in 78 listening to this over and over for almost 40 years. You guys crushed it here. Nice work.
Do you think the music got your route done faster? Slower? Or just made it alot more enjoyable? Personal curiosity I ask alot of dumb questions..
Wow , her voice is insanely good. Not to take anything away from anyone of them but , that voice is world class and she`s only 18 yrs old here too .. Amazing .
I LOVE the singer!
She nailed it!!
I get goosebumps everytime i watch this...and I've watched it a lot, lots...hard to believe its live...salute !!!
Give that man a Hammond! Great job everyone!!! I wish I would've been there!
Wow! what a band, perfect sound, and played spot on. And as someone who live in southern NH I used to see the Boston guys all the time in various bands. Brad is looking down smiling at these guys.
Great job guys and what a nice job singing that song Gabby!
I just took a trip back 40 years. The 1970s were an awesome time to grow up. Well done !
Just saw the video. This is a tremendous. The vocals. the sound the timing. Outstanding young lady and gentelen
A fan from Cupertino, CA.
Gabbie Rae singing - 17 years old when this video was made 2016.
@@dreamdiction In another video clip from this same concert she said she wrote and practiced a song in her tiny studio apartment if I remember correctly. So not seventeen if you ask me.
Steve Jobs Was Here.
@@cmissshelleymichelle She was just a few days away from her 18th birthday. May 21, 1998
@@PaulGibbons Oh okay. How do you know if you don't mind me asking.
That was terrific, thanks - from a boomer who bought this album when it came out and I was 16. This entire record haunted the FM dial for months and months. It was a great time to love rock and roll. You did it well!
That was a tremendous performance vocals, instruments and sound was totally in sync!
Boston, loud mufflers, jet engines and live Puerto Rican bar bands all contributed to my ringing hearing loss. Wouldn’t change a thing.
Wow. I just finished listening to the original from Boston's first album. I came here to hear what a girl could do with this. Wow. All you guys were great. Really nice cover. Boston would be proud.
Gabbie - You made it yours. 🎵
Pretty damn good for a song with so many moving parts. Hats off.
Very good version true to the original. Excellent band
Oh yeah ! 70's bangs hairstyle in a classic rock tune, love it, great vocals young lady, classic rock rules.
Cover bands doing their things right are an artform by itself, and these are great artists! you show your respect to the original track and that's all that matters.
Or stay away :)
Brian tichy rocks on them drums!!
Is that him!?
@@vs4571 Yes
Very, Very, Tight!! No lag whatsoever! Bravo!
Thought it was Bob Segar
I saw him with Sass Jordan. He's a monster.
Everyone in this band is on top of his/her game. And the drummer is the best of all; he gives the whole performance its energy. He is glowing; his stage presence is remarkable.
Thanks and congratulations to everyone responsible for this beautiful rendition of one of our great rock and roll classics.
Couldnt agree more. The drummer is the bus driver. Good drummer good band, most of the time
AGREED. INVALUABLE TO HAVE A DRUMMER SUCH AS.
People have said Brian Tichy who I know has worked w/ Billy Idol for a number of years.
Agreed! Phenomenal drummer!
Gabbie's outro Movn ons are so incredible good. The last of the 3 is so amazing. What an incredible performer she is!!!
Baby you own this song, can’t play it loud enough.
Awesome. Any band who can cover Boston well deserves respect. Well done.
Great handle brother. I know I stepped on this totally by accident...fuck why not.
Cranking the shit out of this right now
Best Cover of that song I have ever seen! Rock GabbieRae!
Lexington lab band
Agreed! Better than than the latest Boston venture.
Glad to see the next generation keeping the REAL MUSIC Alive and well 😀😀
最高にカッコ良い、特に彼女が歌い始めるとこ又リードギター入って来る所がワイルドで昔からのBoston fanもご機嫌です。感動をありがとう😊
Time KEEPS on Rollin .. and this song is still Damn GOOD almost 50 years later!!
Good Lord. How have I just seen this? One of my favorites.... freaking nailed it! Thank you for sharing this!👊🎵😎
This has been a favorite of mine for almost 30 years. Awesome cover folks. That singer has some pipes! Keyboardist was on point. Guitars and drums were 100%. Fantastic!
So happy l found this, now l never have to search for the PERFECT live performance again
Great intro! Dude on keys tears it up! Drums, acoustic, rock the hell out of this tune!
Musically I am impressed and I cued up this video for a laugh thinking "nobody can do Boston justice". You did a great job actually and it is nice as well to see that we have a few folks who actually recognize great music from our past. God Bless and carry on......; )
Check out Lexington Lab Band version.
I know I got my ass kicked too.
I have never seen a band cover Boston. Sounded amazing!
Try the Lexington lab band! They nail them all.. they do covers that will rock you.
Not sure how I came across this but oh my God I’m glad I did. Amazing sound, some real chemistry there!
158 people don't know how awesome and hard this song is to do!
I didn't know Linda Ronstadt came outta retirement
Lol
She's got power and swagger too. Drummer nails. Not a weak link in this. Playing this loud right now. Oh yeaahhh yeaahhh!!!!
This may be the best cover of this song I've heard... My sub was shaken my windows! I loved her vocals too.
Classic song, done to perfection! F'n nailed it!
Bloody brilliant and gob smacked to see this covered so brilliantly....one of my fav songs back in the day when it first came out. Nice one.
Wow. Just wow.
Damn, I wasn’t expecting this!! They did an AWESOME AWESOME JOB on this cover!!
WOW!!! I haven't heard that song in years. That performance reduced me to tears. Beautiful.
I knew when I was sharing all her music years ago on Face Book she was gonna be big!!! You heard it here first folks! 🤘
Good to hear classic rock done so well. Makes you realize how talented those were who authored these tunes so many years ago. They were ahead of their time. Brings back a lot of memories.
WOO HOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!! This is sooooo amazing you guys. The BEST cover of "Long Time" I have EVER heard. You guys F'n ROCK!
A keyboard punk rock dude? An over zealous drummer who belongs in a metal band, and a "oh, a girl singer" who will no doubt suck.
Holy crap this friggin ROCKED!
I'm stunned!! Would have loved to be there!!
Holy crap I am sooooo impressed with this band. AWESOME COVER
Keep “The Legends” alive! Great sound and amazing talent!!
This was frick'n awesome! I agree with all the other comments, every musician nailed it and their positive energy is on point! I'd pay to see this band no doubt!
Power. Poise. Skill. I'm floored. I'm Mad at myself for not discovering these guys until just now
This is one of Boston’s finest moments...good job guys...
Keep Boston - Alive!
GREAT JOB TO ALL OF YOU!!
When I woke up today, I never thought I'd be falling madly in love with a Gabbie Rae. Wow!
When I saw the title to this video, my immediate reaction was, "Yeah, right. No one can cover that song". Well, I was wrong. Wow...
Long, long time Boston fan, got to say that was awesome. Great guitar work.
that keyboard skills tho
I could listen to this band all night!!
Brad Delp is looking down on you and thinking... WOW!!! Keep rock'n girl!
Great Boston sound! Great Talent too! Can't post to just one who really out shines the other.
Wow... wow those vocals.
Not One weak link member in this band ,they're all tremendous musicians
This is a great live performance. Musically right on and the bands energy and interaction with the audience and each other made me watch the whole thing. 👏👏👏🎤
Boston wrote some awesome tunes and to hear it performed as in this clip just brings tears to the eyes with such happiness and joy that knowing my generation made a great impact on the music scene. Outstanding job that even Boston would stand up and appluade you.
I've never heard anyone other than Boston do this so well! BRAVO!!
Listen to lexington lab band do it
nope. do a youtube search for lexington lab band... you'll HEAR the difference BIG TIME!
Studio vs. Live?? Of course there's going to be a difference. LLB is amazing, but you have to compare apples to apples. :)
That was an amazing opening... brought chills!
Tell that backup singer / dancer to call me.
This by far the best song I ever heard
I remember when the album came out I was in school and it was great. Nice to see somebody younger then me enjoying the music of my day. You guys did very good You should definitely be proud of what you've done.
What a great band. I wish I was there to see them live. It must have been such a great show. I can't believe it was 6 years ago.
These guys are great.
That drummer and keyboardist ROCK!!
I love everything about her the outfit is the dope !e
One of the coolest covers ever
WOW on the ball musicians"" Well done""
This is goddamn amazing
I normally cringe a little at the thought of someone covering my favorite band. This is a truly fantastic exception. The late, beyond great Brad Delp would approve.
He would indeed be proud.
Agree totally. I normally like to hear a guy sing this one, but few guys can do Brad’s voice. She nailed this, and band was incredible.
Even Brad couldn't do studio Brad Live as good. Boston had some heavy handed multi track production on their studio albums. They were good live but never measured up to their album tracks imo.
Where is this bad from?
Brad Delp top 2 all time rock singers. Some of the guitar high notes on the 1st Boston album r not guitar they r his voice which is incredible! Freddie Mercury 1 Brad 2! RIP Brad my favorite band of all time. To think a single guy recorded the whole album by himself in a Watertown, Ma basement before the band was even formed was incredible. This drummer is good but nobody beats Sid on this tune! RIP Sid!
This woman's got power.
That young lady has got some pipes. She could do some Heart too.
The band, especially the lead singer, was stellar. That was great camera work and production of a live show, too.
