Was sick with stomach flu last week and ate lots of soup, Campbell Chicken Noodle with powdered morels is outstanding!! Butter with powdered morels cooking scrambled eggs is also divine!
Food always taste better when you are camping. Thanks for another great vlog Maddie and Phil. I don't thonk I can buy mushrooms because of importing food regulations
What all do you carry? Just mushrooms? I saw nettles in your online store but swear I have seen you forage and dry other non mushroom things. Do you guys forage cloud berries? I’ve always wanted to try.
It varies from season to season, the wild forest selection and forest tea medley use non-mushroom products currently. I've foraged cloud berries in the Yukon but we don't harvest them commercially.
I just ordered a variety powder pack (morel, chanterelle, lobster), along with a pack of unpowdered morel, chanterelle and lobster. I hope to make 3 sauces, use the powders to help thicken the sauce and the un-powdered mushrooms as chunks in the sauce. Mix with butter, wine maybe some olive oil. If you have any good recipe suggestions for sauces with these mushrooms, can you throw it in the order? I just throw it on pasta.
I've come across Scotch bonnets a number of times, but I don't have enough experience with them to say if they are like parmesan, I always thought they were sort of sweet. Regarding mushroom sauces, I've been planning to do some recipes shorts/videos and sauces are a great way to use mushroom powder. You could try a traditional Morilles a la creme, or do a sauce version with the morel powder in place of the whole morels. Butter, shallots, lemon juice, morel powder, white wine, and heavy cream. Or with a mix of powder and whole morels. It's traditionally eaten on french baguette, but it's also good on pasta. Lobster mushroom alfredo is an easy recipe, also quite good. Chantrelle powder is great with fried rice dishes, stir fries, etc. I even made chanterelle powder cheese bread this week, and it lasted all of one day before it was gone. 😂 Thanks for the support
Great to see Maddie out harvesting with you. All kinds of beautiful mushrooms, thanks Phil and Maddie for a wonderful video.
