Hi Dean, I have been making Gnomes and Snowmen that I hallow out the inside simular to what you do. I love making a hidden place to put stuff into. I like the way you put the eye brows and hair on the back. I think I will do that from now on. I have just been putting the beard and hair the same length all around the Gnome. That way I can use any kind of wood for the body because it is covered up. I have learned lots watching your videos. I like the way you put the ridges on the hat. That gives him lots of character. Thanks again.
Love your channel. I started making snowmen and gnome lidded boxes a little over a month ago. Just learned a much better technique from you. Thanks! I’m pretty new to turning so I have a lot to learn
Very nice, Recently acquired a used cheap lathe and chisel set, Have been trying to lean how to sharpen the chisels and in doing so, turning a few snowmen and bells just to get a feel for things. Your channel has provided the guidance I need to get things going. Please keep up the excellent work
Hi dean. I'm basically a bowl turner and when I first came across you videos I was somewhat skeptical. However, Christmas is coming up and I have two craft shows before that, so I decided to get out the skew polish up my skills and have turned out a dozen or so of your ornaments. Great fun. I enjoyed it, and now have an ornaments tree to bring some Christmas cheer to my booth. I would just like to share one tip maybe.
This is great. I have several friends who love gnomes. I was thinking of trying to do a box but you showed me how. Did you say that was pine? That is a beautiful piece of wood.
I really enjoyed this video. I have been making these but not with the box. Where do you get your hair material? I have not found anything like you have.
Thanks. I have links in the description for what I get from amazon plus I go to local fabric and craft stores and get some of it there. I hope this helps, Thanks for Watching!!!
A wise man one said, “Now folks, hold on to that nose or if you drop it, you’ll never find it.” Well, you are dead wrong because I’m still looking for it. I did go ahead and make a second one, but I’m still looking so technically that first one is not lost yet. Ha. Keep up the great videos. I’ve watched them all.
I have never attempted to use CA. The hot glue works great so I have never used anything else. If you use CA let the rest of us know how it works. Thanks for Watching!!!

TAIL STOCK SUPPORT
I really like your videos you do a very good job But I see when you put your beards on you use hot glue this their a reason why you don’t use CA glue
I have never attempted to use CA. The hot glue works great so I have never used anything else. If you use CA let the rest of us know how it works. Thanks for Watching!!!
