@@marklouiegarcia2588 the plot of Delta is good but just rushed a lot of characters not that much characters development for all of them except the main 3 cast.
My friend sent me this link to this version of the song and I clicked it, afraid I wouldn't like it. I'm glad my preconceptions were wrong! When translating a song to be sung, artistic liberties are necessary as a literal translation won't fit the rhythm as easily as it happens in the DYRL movie. Interpretations may vary, and it depends on how one conceives what is implied. As I read the original Japanese lyrics, the song strikes me as a bittersweet song, a message to a loved one who has passed on. It's about memories of love and recovering from a mourning phase. She has cried every day since he departed, defeated by loneliness. She envisions him as an image, beckoning her. She feels his warmth, even though he is not there. She asks him to watch over her from far away, though he has departed. But she still feels his presence and is now a part of her. Perhaps my interpretation is a bit sadder, but the version in this video brought a tear to my eye nevertheless.
Got here by accident, from original Japanese version, have to say this song is a very nice surprise. That you captured the original feeling and even mostly the lyric of the original(not easy task)too is truly unbelievable super work! And thank you!

The fact that this masterpiece and hidden gem has not gained massively more traction than it only has at this point (209K views) is an injustice. This cover is so underrated and splendid, and I love it to bits!
Me listening to Japanese version with no lyrics: "What a beautiful song, despite me not knowing the words." Me listening to this English version: "Amazing.. The lyrics are so touching! ;_; Your voice is wonderful"
The lyrics in this video are not a direct translation of the Japanese version, but an intentional translation, which makes it all the more touching. For example, a direct translation of the first phrase would be following. Now I hear your voice saying "Come here" to me as I'm about to give in to loneliness. The lyrics in this video sound more pleasant because the lyrics fit well with the music.
I have listened to the Japanese version of this song since 38 years ago and still brings back memories. Now happened to find this beautiful song in English version. It is extremely well done and very close to the original Japanese version. Well done and thank you.

outstanding. so often I see english versions by fans that are too harsh to hear due to the wrong choice of words. The verbal flow usually isn't pleasing or too percussive in parts when it shouldnt be, or the sentences lack the elegance of good songwriting / matching the original language's feel; but you've done a wonderful job with this one. I looooove the original and this is a worthy english counterpart. Cheers!
Got here from the LeeAndLie version, and while I love that version as well, this struck me as more real and authentic. I really appreciate the care and love you put into this.
I've loved this song for over half my life now (I turn 32 this year), and while I've heard a number of English covers, I think this is the only that has ever impressed me. Great job!
The last 2-3 years the world events were not so awesome. But with the support of great artists making and singing masterpieces like this. We can find the power to deal with everything that is going on.
Fun (?) Trivia (?): The song “Do You Remember Love” is actually canonically written in English. It is sung in Japanese because... its and anime but who knows? Maybe Minmei is just a master in on-the-fly song translation. Heck, the most widespread language in the Macross is probably English. Everyone “speaks” Japanese since its an Anime.
In this animated story, the boss of the Zentraedi army, Bodlzer, had only music plates and no lyrics. Meanwhile, among the ancient ruins left on earth, Misa picked up a plate, but did not know what was written on it. However, after hearing the aforementioned music, Misa realized. What was written on the plate was a lyric. Misa then analyzed the plate and translated it into Japanese. At this time, a lyric was created in which one Japanese letter was assigned to each one note. In reality, the song was written in Japanese by Kazumi Yasui and composed by Kazuhiko Kato. The song was then translated into English.
wow.....i mean....wow.....You captured the essence of Mari Ijima so well as well as the spirit of this song. I heard 3 verisons and now I've heard yours. Miss...its Legendary. I went on a nostalgia run with old anime, getting along with my age. This whole scene, action, characters and music holds such a place in my heart, so naturally hearing this fantastic English cover, you've captured the tone, the rhythm and mood of the Japanese version. "I'll never be all alone" hits so hard, maybe it's not so hard to believe one can fall in love again? Thank you for making this cover.

If they do an official English dub for DYRL since it’s probably going to finally get to come to the states they should use this version of the song. I don’t think anyone else could do it better.
This is the first time I hearing this song in English and it's beautiful. It literally had me in tears.
Dear Caitlin...AWESOME JOB !!!...it brings back so many memories. finally an english version. Wen couples argue, i play this song. A Healing Tool. Thank u n Blessing too.
I don't know how many times I've listened to this version since I discovered it yesterday.. This version fills me with endless nostalgia! 😭
Holy crap, I found the original JPN version a few years ago and lost it in the depths of UA-cam. I found it again recently and I was like "Dang, wish there was an English version of this." You absolutely crushed it singing this. Every part of this is on point with the original, somehow. I really need to watch Macross lmao.
I love the lyrics translation and interpretation!!! Awsome job!!!!
🔥🔥🔥
never thought id see you here dude glad youre enjoying her songs too
Oh hai, Vail!
様々な人がこの曲をカバーしましたが、あなたが一番です。
とてもよい。
こうなると「天使の絵の具」も聴きたくなりますね (^_^
This is a very elegant adaptation. I do this for a living (but for Japanese into Spanish) so I can definitelly tell. From translation to timing and syllable adjustment. Very, very nicely done. Congrats to everyone involved!
the definitive english version, thank you for covering this song.
I stumbled across this a couple years ago in search of an english cover of this song, and it hits jussst right. it's still one of my faves
WAIT I LOVE THIS SONG OMG SHES GONNA DO THIS SONG AS WELL?!?! IM SO EXCITED!!!!
My childhood memories. Thank you so much for uploading this song in English version.
I never thought I would hear an English version of this song. It's so great!
To have watched this anime Macross through the whole entire series many times reminds me of long long ago, and yet just yesterday...I can only hope that others can and will find some of the music from then can relate to so many people today. Memories both good and bad wrapped together in joy and sadness of loss and looking to an uncertain future, that we all have to navigate on our own journey and uet together in our own ways....Thank You for a glimpse
I’m in love with my best friend. I’ve never been in a relationship, so every single line rings true for me. This is probably what I’ll use to tell her when I’m ready.
Your voice is so beautiful. Those high notes are absolutely graceful! I definitely should have found this sooner than I did.
Oh my goodness, thank you for this amazing English cover, especially in the current calendar year! I have been on a Macross binge for the last month or so (especially with the news of Harmony Gold loosening their stranglehold on the license), and it is bringing me so much joy to see this series has still endeared in the hearts of many.
Keep up the amazing work!
It's like listening to it for the first time all over again. Amazing work as always
Me again.
This time, this one hits home; I've been a Macross fan for years and there's a soft spot in my cold, dark heart for Minmay and her songs, especially D.Y.R.L.
You've made a grown man shed a tear lady.
Thanks.
I'm so excited! Soon, the entire series, both sides of the ocean, all in one place!
Never heard a English cover for Do You Remember Love before as a Macross fan.
THIS IS AMAZING!
1:42 to the vocalist, the post-production team, and whoever still listening this masterpiece
I love this so much! 😍 Macross is one of my favorite anime series' of all time. I never thought I'd hear such an amazing english cover of one of the songs. You captured the feel of the original so well, even when changing the language. I'm honestly really impressed.
This song is so warm it makes me feel warm
outstanding. so often I see english versions by fans that are too harsh to hear due to the wrong choice of words.
Great job!
good!
The last 2-3 years the world events were not so awesome. But with the support of great artists making and singing masterpieces like this. We can find the power to deal with everything that is going on.
covid-19已經有藥方醫療,目前需要做的事情是穿越悲傷時期。
This is the most underrated channel, the music you make is like an undiscovered diamond to others.
this is god-tier prolly the best english rendition out their by far
Never knew there was an English version!
Everyone “speaks” Japanese since its an Anime.
yea
Actually it was ancient alien language song and Misa translated it into english, then Minmay sang it in Japanese lol
I hope you get to be a Macross Idol if another series rolls around. You LITERALLY are the BEST english Minmei singer ever. your voice is powerful yet soft,a perfect blend. you're awesome. these words can't describe adequately how your performance makes me feel. I'll say this though PROTOCULTURE!!!!
4:43. This small echo....I felt that. That's original and classy.
I didn’t hear it!
@MATAX5 Around 4:45 is actually the right time, but it's like right on it. I listened to this track many times to make mention.
That was beautiful! I almost cried...
Can't wait for nostolgia to kick in...thank you for the culture.
Yup it's an absolute BANGER
This is a love song from 500,000 years ago, it is still beautiful after so many years.
Exellent!!
Your voice has given us sweet tone in the all of listeneies!
Thank you for your sweet melody and beautiful voice!
I'm saving this song for someone special. I only hope she accepts my love for her. But then again, Minmay did sing this with a broken heart.
If she does, cherish it.
If she doesn't, don't be discouraged.
Love is worth it.
OUTSTANDING! Your performance brings back fond memories of my first encounter with DYRL in the form of the Clash of the Bionoids dub on VHS.
My wife and I danced to the platina jazz cover of this song on our wedding day 3 years ago. This cover makes me wish I could go back in time with a flash drive and play your version instead 😩
Thank you for posting the video. I am a big fan of Macross/Robotech as so many are, and appreciate hearing the English version of the song. Thank you again!!!!!!
Hopefully this song will be remembered many many years later. Thank you for this english ver
Such a great song, and you do so much justice to it. Visual wise I love the VHS type effect. :D
Also, as a side note... you have my vote for VA of any Macross re-releases.
Dude, voicing Minmay in English would be a dream tbh
Hoping for harmony gold to eventually release it from their clutches
@@caitlinmyers I think the original artist, Mari Iijima, is in the US & can now actually sing it in ENGLISH! All we need to do is see if she'll use your lyrics or come up with her own or use someone else's. Still, it would be GREAT to have you two duet this song! Just speculating! Well? How about it, Caitlin? You up for it?
@@fredhercmaricaubang1883 if Mari Iijima sang my lyrics id actually die happy.
@@desk-kun Theres an agreement already that allows releases of the recent IPs of Macross globally, though it seems that DYRL? wont be included in that
Caitlin you just made this 43 year old SDF Macross fan's eyes water and gave the lump in my throat Ijima Mari has since 1990 when I first saw MACROSS: DYRL. After hearing your covers of Plastic Love and Stay By Me I said to a friend... it be something is she did a cover for D.Y.R.L. and whattaya' know.
You nailed it! Now I know the song in English. It brought back my younger days when anime in the states was a chore to get or extremely expensive for 1 episode per tape. THANK YOU! And dammit if I ain't in love with your voice. Please keep doing covers of awesome songs.
You truly snapped on this!! The emotion in your voice amplifies the nostalgic feel of the song too, thank you for this cover
I absolutely love this song even though I've never heard the original. Never before has a song made me long to love and feel loved like the way you've beautifully delivered it with this outstanding performance. Thank you.
Absolutely beautiful and extraordinary!
Oh man, the "I'll never be all alone, you see" section gave me cold chills in this version too. Good job!
Can't listen to this without tearing up, Macross/Robotech was my first anime in the early 90s. Your voice brings me back there; thank you
This song awoke something within me. I can't remember the last time a song genuinely made me cry.
Beautiful voice, I love how it sounds in Japanese, but seeing that it also rhymes in English while sounding lovely was cool! I'm a long time Macross fan, having first watched Robotech as a child and then learning about it's origins 22 years ago. I know have a 400+ item collection of rare Macross resin/plastic kits, toys, magazines, movies and posters going back to 1982, most in pristine condition and a lot are extremely rare from Wonder Festivals.
Can't believe I just came across this... Best rendition of one of my favorite song!
Just Magnificent! Everyone involved did amazing work. Loved the 80's style of filter with tracking lines. Keep up the good work.
A great rendition! It was so good, my eyes started to water a bit from nostalgia from my first anime.
Wow, amazing English translation and keeping the rhythm so close to the Japanese version! Awesome work, thank you for doing this for Macross fans all over! :)
I saw this and my heart raced with joy! One of my all time favorites! Thank you Caitlyn!
Wow, glad I didn't cancel my patreon, you are on fire with uploads!
Thank you for your support!!! ToT 💙

Wow, she really said, “I’m about to do what’s called a Pro Gamer move.”
I just sobbed my eyes out. This was such a beautiful rendition. Amazing work!!!
