If we take the following definition for death: the termination of life, then they are definitely not dead, to me, at least.
If you think about it, its kind of come full circle. Fly me to the moon was a song sung by Frank Sinatra, and adapted to evangelion. Then, the song Kom Süsser Tod is from evangelion, but here it's sung by a guy who sounds kinda like Frank Sinatra.

The song was perfomed by South Africa-born British singer Arianne Cleopatra Schreiber and musical arrangement orchestrated by Shiro Sagisu who composed soundtrack for whole series.
"Komm, süßer Tod" is not from evangelion. if you took the time to web surfing you would know this. it is a saying "come sweet death" titled in many pieces of art.

Ugh. None of you understand how business actually works do you. You do realise that Evangelion isn't nearly as popular as a show like Friends right? If they were you spend he money on Fly me to the moon there would be no guarantee that Evangelion's ratings would be able to make up for it.
Finally someone else gets it. Spending a shit ton for a song, especially one that plays at the end of the episode isn’t worth it. It’s already hard enough to even get Evangelion. It took years just to do that. Whining about one song at the end of each episode is stupid
@@RobertoMaybe1 I tottaly agree with everyone.If you havent realised already EVANGELION itself is a masterpiece.Every part of the series, from songs to characters and doublemeanings about life is really well made.The only ones who really can uderstand why things turned like that in the end,are the ones who have depression ,stress,mental scars and other things just like the series' main character (Shinji).This is why just a very few people can really understand the REAL meaning of this series.
I tried to play Komm Susser Tod in my marriage but the parish organ player translated it and told the pastor... so they denied it for the depressing lyrics.
I mean not exactly the best choice of song for a wedding. It's a heartbreak song / suicide song after all.

@@Sernival its not his instrument, it's the church's. which i helped pay for and maintain with monthly donations. the organ player is a kid whose "free" organ lessons were also at the church, also banked by parishioners. i respected his decision and didn't argue with him. but i wasn't happy and do not have to agree. it's a beautiful song and it was made for a cartoon, so spare me with the 'oh its about suicide so deeeeep' bullshit.

This song cover got me through one of my worst months, it’s been two years now and I thank you for helping me give some comfort and something that resonated with the hell I was back then experiencing. I am better now, and if anyone reading this, you are worth it, life does get better, I use to see that as just a corny phrase but it is 100% true once time passes.

@@SV_Smog "dwarfs what we see". all we see of the snap are (granted beloved characters) a few dozen people geting dusted and some empty streets / memorials, in an event that is supposed to affect the entire universe. Third impact shows you a complete apocalypse. We see almost every character in the show essentially die in much more personal and effective ways. I love Infinity war and Endgame, but the snap doesn't give off anywhere near the palpable horror and despair of the Third Impact. (This comes from someone who views EoE as a happy ending).
@@Szt1998 Yeah. The snap was more about the heroes losing than the death of billions. Meanwhile in EoE you have the slaughtering of Nerve leading into Instrumentality, its a lot more visceral and impact.
I do love Infinity War, but EoE (and Eva) is a goddamn masterpiece.

Someone goes up to the bar, a woman with red hair. She's about to order a drink, but they catch him out the corner of their eye, glancing in her direction.
"Hey, who's that guy?" they ask the bartender. "What's his problem?"
"Oh, him? That's just Mr. Ikari. He's a regular. He's done some crazy shit, but cut him some slack, he...he had a tough life."

Seeing Shinji suffering is like seeing myself suffer, because at one point in time I was almost exactly like him, especially back in 10th grade when I was bullied to the brink of suicide. I simply cannot tolerate watching Eva. I felt forced to relive my trauma upon viewing it. I’m deathly afraid of it. Twice I had a nightmare where I saw myself as Shinji choking Asuka and starting the Third Impact. I’ve been struggling with this newfound depression ever since.
Evangelion is nothing but a bright shining lie. There is no instant cure for depression as so many on UA-cam and Reddit claimed and praised this series to be. I was obsessed with the series for over a year to try and outwit the Coronavirus pandemic. It only increased the burden, and kept the memory of my friend’s recent suicide alive. Sometimes I hate myself because I fail to appreciate this series which people treat larger than life, because of how much pain it resurfaces.
Watching the End of Evangelion was like peering into a broken mirror, and I was viewing the hell I would’ve put myself through had things turned out differently, had I decided to give up living. It still haunts me to this day.
I hated myself because I fail to appreciate what so many have claimed to idolize, and I beat myself further for failing to worship what they call praiseworthy, I forced myself to watch a show that reminded me of nothing but pain just so I wouldn’t be alone anymore, I was willing to sacrifice my individuality for some company amidst the isolation of the pandemic.
But it only spiraled me deeper into depression, which I’ve been struggling with for over a year now.
I just wanted Shinji to be happy, so this past self of mine can be laid to rest once more. I’m afraid to decouple myself from him after losing my friend to suicide, which Eva made me feel responsible for, especially when I saw Shinji kill Kaworu, of which I fail to understand how anyone can call it praiseworthy. Until then, I felt nothing else mattered.
But finally, with 3.0+1.0 released, I can rest easy knowing that Shinji has finally reached the light at the end of the tunnel. Evangelion is finished, and I want it to remain that way.
But in all honesty, if things didn’t end well for Shinji, I wouldn’t be here today.
I just want to feel I’m not crazy for feeling this way; that my depression is not a figment of my imagination.
While I doubt you meet the criteria for insanity and so cannot be categorized as crazy.
I do hope you seek and get the help you need.
and yes, being clinically depressed is not normal, that is why it is a medical condition, and not considered healthy.
Hey, appreciate your vulnerability and honesty. Depression is hard, there is no easy way, spend over 15 years in it one way or another, finally overcome it in the past few years. I took the long way cause I didn't know any better.
Consistent daily action over time, positive goals and intents. I know it's hard and I know you're trying your best every minute of every day to survive. Keep going, you'll get there ❤
