I won’t lie I was slightly skeptical about an English cover of this song, but after hearing this I was blown away. This is absolutely fantastic and I love it even more than the original. You always deliver quality.
I am constantly impressed that you make English covers of Japanese songs sound good. so many people try to literally translate then force words to fit into the music and it always sounds awkward but you always keep generally the same meaning of the song while still making it sound good in English. this is how its done and you are the gold standard for these covers in my opinion, for whats that worth coming from a life long japanese music lover

I have listened to that countless times since, and now I have your adaptation to add to the rotation. Your refrain captured the gospel choir sound Taeko strove for on the original. The breakdown matched the Eric Gale-esque guitar solo you'd find on a Bob James or Grover Washington Jr. song from that era (the '70s). The first "passing by" ("ima o") even felt like an homage to how "that's the time" was structured in Roberta Flack's "Feel Like Makin' Love," which Bob arranged (and covered shortly after). Anyway, thank you again.
