Imagine if people from different countries did a cover of this song with different languages being rickrolled in different languages :3 (Also don't mind my English it's not my first language I'm from the Philippines QwQ)
Is it bad I like this version more than the actual song? Maybe it's just I enjoy hearing the different vocals mix together that makes it sound beautiful in Japanese or maybe it's my crazy obsession with how much I love hearing things in Japanese rather than english I'm not too sure but god this is great I love it!
can we just appreciate how they managed to make the japanese lyrics rhyme while also maintaining the original english meaning and keeping the syllabic meter basically intact? that's pretty impressive.
A friend linked this to me. I was so prepared to dislike this, and then I actually listened to it. It sounds so nice! Just a genuinly pleseant listening experience. I think I've just been jaded by years of getting Rick Rolled.
This is an unironically mesmerizing cover. Those instruments in the background! And that sequence from 2:08 to 2:46? OOOOOoohhhh! This must be what magic sounds like. 😌
A lot of people fail to capture 1980's sound and end up making it sound too modern. This hit it right on the nail. I'd love to hear an instrumental version too! This is really good!
Actually she deserved it... Hope for her very more great success ❤❤❤ her voice truely makes you go insane also collab with annapantsu???? Bruhhh legends
I like how they get all the voices down. The Uber cute one that does the almost baby talk, the one who sounds more mature, the one that sounds kinda shy, and the main one.
The vocal talent of these four is mind blowing. @_@ Especially in another language! They all have different vocal tones that are individually amazing and come together beautifully. If they were a Jpop band they'd be top of the charts.
Amazing! Sounds like native Japanese speaker! No accents or strange pronunciation! Even if you tell me that a Japanese singer sang this, I wouldn't be surprised one bit!

And that has been our Internet lore for the day.
@@CrystalDragen damn you wrote an entire essay, pretty dope lore tho
bro this actually lit tho its on spotify
when they all sing the chorus its actually like beautiful
PRESENTING:リックアストリーさんの曲「ネヴァー ガナ ギヴ ユー アップ」!
My beginner Japanese class has prepared me for this moment where I can use katakana incorrectly.
LMAOOO good job!
Okay but Y'all literally sound like a legit throwback girl group. It's legit not fair how good this sounds. What demon did you make a deal with to make this sound so good?
What demon indeed😏
Y'all killed it ladies! Love the unique delivery and vocal style of each singer
Imagine if people from different countries did a cover of this song with different languages being rickrolled in different languages :3 (Also don't mind my English it's not my first language I'm from the Philippines QwQ)
aight bet.
omg hiii
im from the phillippines alsoo!✨
yo i'm also from the philippines lmao
oh my god galing rin ako sa daigdig
This is probably the only time I will want to be rickrolled
Thx for the heart
The English version is an absolute gem and one of the best songs I've heard. I can't decide which version I like more
This is literally a City Pop version... god i love the original but THE CITY POP IS MY WEAKNESS!!!
If it were the Supreme weeb, he would choose this, sinc eits part of the culture "Anime girls"
nice you name pfp
i like both equally and i love this song, not just for the memes, it's actually a good song
Is it bad I like this version more than the actual song? Maybe it's just I enjoy hearing the different vocals mix together that makes it sound beautiful in Japanese or maybe it's my crazy obsession with how much I love hearing things in Japanese rather than english I'm not too sure but god this is great I love it!
me too :3
Same with me i love hearing voices be it talking or singing in Japanese language and i love Anime,Manga and Japan 🇯🇵💕💞
Just found out that Rick Astley's song uses the same chord progression in a lot of japanese pop songs and this explains why this fits so much!!!!
Japan and America had a lot of cultural exchange in the 80s. Lots of Japanese pop songs were inspired by American pop songs of that era.
Now I can properly Rickroll Hololive members 😌😅
Please do, if i saw a clip of that happening I'd actually lose my mind and be so happy ToT
You heard that guys, you know what to do
DO IT
Come on come on.....
We could also convince one of the members to sing this in a karaoke stream some day.
This song is so good I don't even feel like I'm getting rick rolled
SAME
SAME
Same
Anna pantsu's tone just has that sass that takes the song up another notch... 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
TRUTH
can we just appreciate how they managed to make the japanese lyrics rhyme while also maintaining the original english meaning and keeping the syllabic meter basically intact? that's pretty impressive.
A friend linked this to me. I was so prepared to dislike this, and then I actually listened to it. It sounds so nice! Just a genuinly pleseant listening experience. I think I've just been jaded by years of getting Rick Rolled.
If you look past the memes and jokes, Never gonna give you up is actually a really nice song
@@igloo_igloo ikr
@@igloo_igloo thats why i dont hate rickroll infact actually like the song it fits both rhyme and beat which is my music taste
Never judge a video by it's title
The lyrics are so good, like how it almost doesn't feel like the song was originally in English from how the rhythms of the jp version go so well
This is an unironically mesmerizing cover. Those instruments in the background! And that sequence from 2:08 to 2:46? OOOOOoohhhh! This must be what magic sounds like. 😌
the instrument breakdown that starts around 2:28 or so reminds me of Rezonate Canvas
本当にすごい! これは芸術作品です!
Four exceptionally talented voices, all brought together! Congratulations to you all!!
Michael Jackson's Rock With You definitely deserves a City Pop treatment too. I haven't seen anyone do it yet.
Imagine Off The wall in the style of Tatsuro
A lot of people fail to capture 1980's sound and end up making it sound too modern.
This hit it right on the nail.
I'd love to hear an instrumental version too! This is really good!
80s meets 80s. City pop ftw
丸メガネの子の声がすごくかわいい♡
Actually she deserved it... Hope for her very more great success ❤❤❤ her voice truely makes you go insane also collab with annapantsu???? Bruhhh legends
I like how they get all the voices down. The Uber cute one that does the almost baby talk, the one who sounds more mature, the one that sounds kinda shy, and the main one.
日本語の発音がすごくうまくてびっくり😲
みんな歌もうまいし、イラストもかわいいですね💖
他の日本の方もきっと氣に入りますよ😊
Thanks, I was looking through comments to find if any japanese person commented on the pronunciation. Glad to know it's good.
日本人じゃないと????すごい!
*A Guide to Dancing at Three in the Morning:*
Step One: Listen to this song.
That's it, you might just find your body moving along to the beat.
I never knew you could upgrade Never Gonna Give You Up
THANK THE SPOTIFY GODS FOR GIVING ME THIS MASTERPIECE! IM IN LOVE WITH THE CHORUS!!!
The vocal talent of these four is mind blowing. @_@ Especially in another language! They all have different vocal tones that are individually amazing and come together beautifully. If they were a Jpop band they'd be top of the charts.
2:07
PURE! UNADULTERATED! BLISS!!!!!!!!!!!
I will be rickrolled! Wait it's in Japanese!?! *heavy breathing* and wait... it's all my favorite singers too!?! *passes out*
Amazing! Sounds like native Japanese speaker! No accents or strange pronunciation! Even if you tell me that a Japanese singer sang this, I wouldn't be surprised one bit!
I friggin love Annapantsu's voice!
I actually love the original version... Then i heard this and im totally smitten by this version. This is so amazing. Thank you ms myers. You are truly a gift on this earth
Oh my gosh. I got a heart from Caitlin Myers herself on my comment! I'm star struck 🥰
This song was meant to be perfect and beautifully remastered and even yet.
That's very sweet

After hearing Gura get rickrolled in Japanese, I actually became curious how it sounds in Japanese, and this made it possible! This is nice, and amazing
Wait did she get rickrolled with this video? Or the original?
@@H2OHydraulic The original, the one with Kiara
I love this
Haven't thought of this song as a duet before but it works pretty well.
Your Japanese is good!!! Amazing voice. As a japanese, this was a nice treat. Sugoi!!!
Hearing Anna’s powerful vibratos compliment all of your voices in the chorus is so HEALING
You guys blew this out of the water!! ❤️
City Poppin is a nonstop album in my spotify right now, holy guacamole!
みんな、日本語上手ですよ!👏🏼
Yes
ありがとうあなたは日本人ですか
i would never skip this if it was an anime opening or outro. i would just jam all the way
the product key worked, thanks Michael!
Ok but this slaps SO hard! And their voices *chefs kiss* just go so well together!

THANK YOUUUUU
the mood for this ver. that made me remind to plastic love J POP 90s so cool
why am i only getting this recommended now??? THIS IS PURE GOLD OMG
THIS RENDITION IS SO MAJESTIC I AM ABSOLUTELY LONGING FOR AN ENGLISH COVER EVEN THOUGH I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THE ORIGINAL SOUNDS LIKE
I like both of them but after being tired of the original, this sounds better imo. Take a look at the pitch bend at 1:23, this sounds amazing
I’m subscribed to all these UA-camrs and the fact that I woke up knowing they’re going to collab?! Maybe life isn’t too bad after all... 🦔👉👈

THE VOICE IS SO CUTE IM SCREAMINGIESJHDEODDH
Agree :)
I'm Japanese and just found this. This is amazing! You obliterated entire lines but I am glad you did because in exchange the ones that weren't removed were almost exact translation. (Japanese has A LOT more syllables to communicate the same sentence)
良くできました!
This is straight up a song that FEELS like it would fit in like Persona or something...
I didn't know I need a Japanese version... thank you for fulfilling this unknown need.
This would have made for a perfect city pop track back in the 80s if one of the many pop singing ladies in Japan decided to cover this absolute banger.
holy moly, that really sounds amazing! Great voices, beautiful language... pure gold.
Amazing job!
This is in my opinion, the culmination of the UA-cam singer genre, loved seeing all these singers get to here, and I'm excited for what happens next. (Special shout outs to Annapatsu's solo lines that really stood out)
1:23 I love these vocals omg 😭🤭
