  • super easy Tempura mix. We could make delicious vegetable tempura with the Nisshin "tempuranko" This flour made all the difference in the world. I've added the tempura basket below. I found it on Amazon. If you have a daiso, it is cheaper there.
    Tempura stainless basket: amzn.to/2Yttp89

Hello Nickey, and your mother! I'm so glad you found a new tempura batter mix to try. The tempura kabocha especially looked delicious. That's my favorite, too! Everything else looked so good. I have not tried to cook tempura at home, but on cooking shows, I saw some chefs saying they sometimes used plain seltzer water instead of tap water to make a lighter batter. Have you ever heard of this or tried it? They said it makes the batter lighter and crispier. Luckily, you may not need that trick now that you've found the Nisshin tempura mix. Best wishes to Kuma with his upcoming birthday! Hugs from California. :-)

That was an excellent tip...to coat the veggies with the powder mix first then the batter...that’s an assuring way that the veggie will combine together...the best tip for the day. Use that batter and instead of water ,use beer and fry fish...beer batter so good...but use less about of beer..thicker batter...Your Mom is a true chef...she likes her ingredients in order and precise cutting and is very neat. Clean cooking

Thank you Mom! I learned a lot! So interesting. My next trip to Oahu I will go and look for that basket and the tempura flour. I also struggled cutting those pumpkins all these years. I absolutely love eating them but always struggled cutting them. I gave up preparing them. Hahaha.... so jealous watching you eat. Time to try again. Love you both!

HI NIKI MY HEART GOES OUT TO U AND MOM. I CAN REALLY RELATE TO U . I THINK ALL PARENTS GET SARCASTIC AND MOODY AS THEY AGE. U GOTTA WALK ON EGGSHELLS A LOT ( AT LEAST I DO) FOR FEAR OF GETTING MY HEAD RIPPED OFF. I BELIEVE U SAID THAT YOUR MOM'S IN HER 80'S ? MINE JUST TURNED 76 BUT IT'S A CONSTANT STRUGGLE TO STAY ON HER GOOD SIDE. WHICH BTW USUALLY DOESN'T WORK OUT TO GREAT. SHE'LL EITHER START OUT OK AND GRADUALLY GO DOWNHILL OR SHE STARTS OUT DOWNHILL AND JUST GOES DOWN FURTHER THROUGHOUT THE DAY. THERE'S A WHOLE LOTTA TRUTH TO THE SAYING LIFE IS LIKE A BOX OF CHOCOLATES. EXCEPT IT SHOULD SAY U NEVER KNOW HOW YOUR MOM'S GONNA BE FOR THE DAY. 😁😁😁😁.HEAD UP IT JUST HAS TO GET BETTER. DOESN'T IT??? WE NEED SHIRTS. DAUGHTERS BEWARE.
