Imagine being this triggered by people just trying to make an honest correction to your mistake.
Actually you forgot something, gaurdians now occasionally delay their laser beams, hitting you instead of you deflecting the beam.

Something? He did cover the basics, but he forgot a lot of things like AI buffs. Bokoblins, Moblins, and Lizalfos all got buffs that make them more responsive to player actions, and the mini bosses weren't left out either.

Guardians are harder to shield deflect - the timing now may vary between 2 different beam delays and the normal timed beam.

The Nerds of Geek it was even somewhat in your video. At 6:13 there was a larger delay than usual between the red targeting line and the actual beam coming from the guardian. This is the shorter of the 2 delays. You can more easily tell if there’s a delay because a dark blue cloud forms in a circle around the guardian’s head for a split second.

Just parry it's attacks, shoot it in the face, mount it, and hit it with your sword. It does no damage to your melee weapon and it's not super exhaustive on your bow. That is how you kill the Great Plateau Lynel with low weapons.
Zion Bernat yeah bro, because the most powerful weapon you’ll get on the great plateau is a 20 damage weapon. You’ll definitely have enough arrows to take down a 4000 hp lynel

The silver and gold lizardfos are almost impossible to kill because they start to regenerate way too quickly and generally stay far from you for a few seconds before each attack. Your only options are elemental stuff to stun them and projectiles.
Yeah! I literally avoid enemies at all cost in master mode. Its just like, I don't hit hard enough to kill you without breaking all of my weapons, only to pick up your crappy sword and a lizalfo tail. not worth!
The Nerds of Geek everyone should avoid enemies before they have at least 10 hearts and 3/5 of a second stamina wheel.
Ever head of midair arrow spam? If you have a fast fire bow and some stamina? It’s easy
Meh... You need enough elevation in the terrain and it's still very expensive: you would break your bows and spend all your arrows pretty fast.

The giant tree leaf weapon is the best weapon in Master Mode. Just blow all your enemies away constantly never letting them recover off of an edge tall enough to kill or any body of water for non-Lizalfos.
I threw a lizalfos down a mountain from the top... It survived with more than half hp remaining.....
Yes water and cliffs have become my best partner in defeating enemies early in the game.

I started playing BotW for the first time recently and chose to begin from Master Mode right off the bat. From my experience, it was crazy hard in the beginning and I died a lot. Now that a I am more experienced and have more hearts it´s possible to take more challenges and it has been quite rewarding. The game has some rather tense moments and I couldn't imagine myself playing in normal mode. Great game.. loving the difficulty!

Jules Prime Time You can get the motorcycle before you beat the game. And yes, you can get it in Master Mode as well.

You unlock the motorcycle after completing a challenge that is only accessible when you conquer all 4 Divine beasts.

I want Gold Lynels with Ancient Arrows, or even a cool Ancient Lynel weapon selection.
Like a mechanical lynel made to look like a guardian which uses ancient weaponry and the reward for defeating him is the ancient bladesaw ++, ancient bow++, and a load of Gold Rupees

@@MayW15663 They may be hard enemys, but since you can completly avoid them it does indeed make the game easy. I beat the game atleast three times, and if I remember correctly I only killed like 2 Lynels.
It does service to the stealth mechanics of the game. When I first played it I figured "Why go stealth when I can just go and open up a can of whoop ass?" Now it feels more like a strategical choice and a solid part of the game.
These video's are better then most big channels to be honest! I can't wait to see were this channel goes, cause its going places!

If you have majored mask in master mode, the only enemies you have to look out for are guardians, mini bosses, chuchus, wizrobes and Kees. Everything else won’t attack you until you make the first move, even lynels won’t hurt you. But also look out for the enemies with sky octorocks, they just don’t care
Lynels are still every bit as dangerous with the mask as they aren't falling for it. In either mode I still get my butt handed to me on a silver platter by the weakest one in the game.
@@michaezell4607A medium-sized boulder is my go-to strat for killing lynels. Too tall of a rock is too much and too short offers no cover, but if you find a boulder of just the right height and you get the lynel to come after you, you can keep dodging behind cover and darting out to make one or two quick strikes before going behind the rock again. You can also alter between running around the rock and scrambling over it real quick provided it isn't too high. This boulder strategy combined with attack-up potions and foods lets me kill them with relative ease. -On Normal mode. I haven't tried Master Mode yet.

A subtle change that I found is that the stamina wheel recharges slower in Master Mode than in Normal Mode. This makes it harder when escaping enemies, making it harder.

At 0:11 , For all my dark souls fans who just got triggered let me defend myself. This is not a statement saying, "This game is Difficult therefore it's souls" the point I am attempting to make (albeit not well clearly) is that with enemies being stronger, it shares some of the flare of Dark Souls because even the common enemies are very likely able to off you, which I found to be a defining characteristic of the Souls Franchise. That being said, I made this video on the cusp of every hard game being souls becoming a meme, and if I could change this video I'd take that line out for the confusion. When I started master mode the first thing I did was take on that lynel and after about 6 hours it fell, I may have died 200 times but I killed it without even taking a hit and this was my best accomplishment aside from killing a lynel with nothing but a tree branch

6:13 I guess in master mode the guardian’s laser beams can go through walls too
Ethan Smith and not just that. They can randomly delay their lasers by a full second, which renders the shield parry technique harder to use.

Those Beamos(Yeah I still call them that) were trolls since I first saw them in A Link to the Past.
Master Mode was actually easier than my first run for me, mainly because of the op dlc and prior knowledge. The only difficulty was at the start, where I just avoided danger and used korok leaves to throw bokos into water/a cliff. But after the great platue, I just went straight for the phantom set (for boosted atk), then for Majora's mask (to avoid combat). After that, I just walked into the castle with the mask, got op weapons and shields, and then you're set for the game. It just goes to show how the dlc items are crazy strong
Right as you get off the great plato get Majoras mask it really helps

There’s another more odd, less apparent change in Master Mode: if you try to get special weapons from an Amiibo, you have to have defeated at least one Divine Beast.
Basically, you can get every outfit from a classic Link (or Shiek’s face mask) but if you want the Sword of the Hero, Biggoron Sword, Skyward Sword, Sword of the Seven Sages, Fierce Deity Sword, Seabreeze Boomerang, Twilight Bow, or Shield of the Hero to drop from using an Amiibo, go defeat at least one Divine Beast or all you get (no matter how much save spamming you do) is clothes and random normal stuff instead of the exclusive classic weapons.
the test of strength trials are INSANE in master mode. fighting one of those mini guardians, and once it's below 500 health (out of 3000) if you don't keep up on it, it can regen up to 100 health PER SECOND!
When I started my master mode playthrough I got tired of constantly dying to every monster I came across so I tracked down Majora's mask and boy, does it help a lot because most of the monsters just leave you alone

Great vid. I can relate, just started a master mode file a few days ago and everything you said was spot on. I gotta think, sneak, strategize and run away a lot more than i did the first time
The first Gold enemy I ran into was a gold Lizofo.
I was heading up to that shrine behind the Yiga hideout and I just resorted to repeatedly freezing it and doing the final hit of the 2h spin attack on it to stun it then I refroze it. It took a solid 5 minutes of constant hitting before it actually died.

Majora Boy Nah. Standard require more than 58 million. Also,we NEED a buff. The new temple will need to have a Lynel in every single major section,and it will be platinum with Attack boost level 10. Also,Fire section will require volcano eruptions every single second.
Water must have electric lizalfos which are unbeatable,with 10 thousand of them in the room.
The air will be Lynels shooting all the kinds of arrows into the sky and the player can’t beat them.
Sand will have 10 Moldugas and 4 Hinoxes which the player must beat with no sand boots or bow.

Extremely late I know. But he forgot to mention that bokoblins, moblins, lizalfos, and lynels see you way easier now. So be careful
Honestly, this is excactly how I played most of my first playthrough, as I noticed early on, that fighting doesn't get you a lot. I only started freely chopping away at enemies, very late in the game when I had upgraded Hero's Tunic, Guardian Pants and headgear to max, so I was basically invincible anyways. Cool vid none the less
I finished my Master Mode playthrough 2 days ago. I can understand staying away from enemies near the beginning of the game, but you can also get upgrades for armor with monster parts and even sell them for rupees. And what's the point of getting good weapons if you don't use them? Once I got a handle on the situations in the game by getting a good armor set and some better weapons, I was slaughtering monsters like a pro. Also a really good tip is that Bokoblins and Moblins can't swim, so if you send them flying into some water, they are dead, instantly. One Korok Leaf is enough to kill a mighty White Bokoblin as long as it's next to some water.
I also found fighting monsters to be the key experience to me during my Master Mode runthrough. I was very used to the weaker sets of enemies from normal mode, so retesting my skills against an army of juiced up monsters felt like a really fun incentive for me to keep on playing. I'm gonna be honest, the only reason I even played Master Mode was because of knowing about the Gold enemies.
It honestly felt like I was replaying the same game, just a lot more dangerous and more skill was needed.
Dont even own Zelda or a switch but watched all the way because of the quality of the video!

I prefer this than what you'd want in a new game plus, changing your play style is what makes it fun.
Get an electric weapon and go to the coliseum area right by the plateau. Just hit the enemy once, grab all their weapons and run away, you get so much good stuff that way
Master Mode = Incredibly hard (not impossible) bonus mode that gives zero rewards for doing it over normal mode.
Not true. Because of the higher number of high tier enemies you make money faster since they drop gems. You also have one more Lynel to hunt once you feel like Lynel hunting, can farm star fragments off gold Lynels, and have more places to get good weapons from enemies in general from ones carried by the new Octorock (like a Bokoblin carrying a Lynel bow). Plus Guardians are actually somewhat satisfying to fight for someone that can consistently 3 shot them with parries.
Your reward is playing through the game tactically. A reward in an of itself. IMO.
shupasopni Agreed, that was the first thing I noticed was that I had a bunch of sapphires, rubies, and Topaz from all of the silver and gold enemies.
So all I'm hearing is enemies have alot more health and I can die faster?.. eh no thanks.. sounds Boring. Even kingdom hearts has a more in depth settings in their critical mode.
Christian Guerrero The hardest part of Master Mode is the first stretch of getting armor/weapons and hearts/stamina. Starting off is stupidly brutal. For the lack of weapons you’ll have and the fact that you can’t hide from enemies because they regenerate if you start attacking them. Once you get some of the floating octorok chests for weapons they make building a good set easier. After a couple of divine beasts and korok seed upgrades the silver and gold bobokins are great sources of money. Also Trial of the Sword is very hard for the same reason the beginning is hard.

One thing to mention, master mode removes one shot protection (in normal mode, if you survive a hit from an enemy, you won't continuously take damage until you get back up again)
I guess it makes disguises like Majora's Mask exponentially valuable if you wanted to steal/assassinate monsters. Besides that, I'm no hardcore player so I may not touch that mode XD
Master mode is just a small part of one of the best bang for your buck DLC's you'll find from a AAA publisher. Breath of the Wild is the first Zelda to have a DLC pack, and this is the first time that Master Mode is coming as a Paid addition to a Zelda title. Although Master Mode isn't a stock part of all Zelda games some variation of it has been featured as bonus content on a few previous Zelda Titles such as Ocarina of Time and The Legend of Zelda. But Master Mode is far from the only thing you get for this $20 DLC bundle, as well as some cosmetic inclusions and additional quests the DLC for this game also Included 2 Story adventures "The Ballad of the Champions" which features a brand new Divine Beast and new cutscenes giving more back story to each of the 4 champions, as well as "The Trials of the Sword" which I did a video for ( ua-cam.com/video/coRSVszSNtk/v-deo.html&t ) explaining the lore and story connection craftily placed into that 51 level dungeon. Just felt like some of the comments are a bit mad at the paid aspect without the proper context.

Watch out for the guardians too.
They sometimes faint there shots, moves faster, and shoots you immediately without warning when you get too close.
Actually the mirrored Master Quest for Ocarina time was in 3DS version while the original was not mirrored. I know this because I have the damn game and the mirrored thing was kind of accidentally introduced in Twilight Princess for the Wii and they just incorporate it into 3DS version and then Twilight Princess HD.

Just started a Master Mode run, and going to the floating platforms for the chest is missing the forest for the trees. Most of the archers posted on those platforms carry very nice bows, usually knights bows or even lynel bows, and they're usually better than whatever weapon you find in the chests
yep, definitely ID what weapons those enemies on the floating platforms are carrying to see whether you need to take them out or not for their goodies. i'd get the chest first though, before taking them out if you can.
I know it's a bit late but a missing piece of information: Guardians have a second pulse after fully charging their beam, making it slightly harder to perfect block those attacks.

Getting the master sword is one of your best moves in master mode as it’s Able to regenerate itself and deal a lot of damage to guardians, save on arrows by using the beam, and also deal with the blights faster (especially thunder blight)

One other detail I found on my last Master Mode playthrough--the pit of Guardian wreckage near the Akkala lab is now filled in. There's maybe one or two hulks above ground plus the one dnagling from the crane but that's about it.
Killing enemy does give you point which will affect the weapon modifier on attack points and durability.

One good thing about master mode is silver enemies spawn earlier, which is especially useful because you can just farm gems at the colleseum

Your closing comment is so apt. I'm finally playing master mode after dropping the game for a couple years. It does change the way you approach everything and overall playstyle you use lol.
Another change is the AI of guardians. They can postpone laserblast and follow up with an instantaneous one shortly after the previous one which they couldn’t do in normal mode. Because of this using your shield to parry lasers is much harder to pull off.

Since silver lynels are replaced with gold ones, and if u get far enough into the normal mode every lynel becomes silver, then that means that if u get far enough into master mode every lynel u see will be gold 😱
Something I did notice in the game, When you fight a boss out side, with a red line.. When the red moon comes on, it shows you bit of a video clip where all the monsters come back to life, When the short Video clip ends, You go back fighting the boss, only thing the boss will come back with full health...

I wouldn't, honestly I think the base game brings a fair bit of challenge, but the fun of the game is in the exploration, so I'd say run the first play through on regular.

basically, you want to sneak strike weaker enemies to get enough powerful weapons for lynels and such.
The worst part about Master Mode is trying to do the trial of the sword. It's impossible! I can never make it past the part with the 2 Silver Lizalfos
I know this comment is a year old, but if you haven't beaten the Trial of the Sword yet, I recommend shield clipping! It makes the process much easier, without all the frustration.

If you think about it the spring loaded hammer on the fourth hit launches the enemy's away causing more damage when they land the only reason I use this weapon is because I like launching monsters of a cliff
I started playing master mode because i got bored of the lack of enemies in normal mode. I wasnt prepared for the regen, but i enjoy the challenge
this was actually a really great video. I just got the game, let alone, the switch, about a week ago. got Zelda with it as well. love it . i put like 30 hours into the game and then ended up buying the dlc. I feel as if the base mode is a bit too easy. so I'm hoping that master mode will challenge me

God I thought I was good in normal mode until I tried trial of the sword. Any tips on it?
Actually, there is supposedly a secret point system, at least in normal mode. It doesn't boost stats or anything, but rather weapons you find in chests are better, but enemies slowly level up as well.
3:51 actually, there's only 23 lynels in master mode, compared to 22 on normal mode. The plateau lynel is the only added lynel
I raded the castle right when i started in master mode and it was not easy

When I first did it, I immediately went for the phantom armour and Majoras mask. That way I could disguise as enemies AND also have very strong armour right after the great plateau, which is great, cause that armour is gonna be really helpful. Then I raided Hyrule Castle with the phantom armour and majoras mask. It was a breeze from there
Profitman Yes. All you need is the mask. Phantom armor of course for damage. But all you need is the mask and boom, good weapons.

1 trick I highly recommended is using heavy weapons on bokoblins and moblins near water. You only need a couple of hits to send them to a watery demise.

Yeah for real. I only actively seek fights when I need a certain monster part. Other wise my greatest enemy is mountains vs stamina and rain.
*What master mode should have been:*
#1 Enemies are slightly tougher to kill
#2 Resources are *extremely* scarce
#3 Enemies do less damage, but you can't just eat food in combat and essentially be immortal(as long as you have the resources and don't get 1hit) which would be less likely to happen seeing as monsters hit less hard
_perhaps you have to sit down/pause to eat or burn all your stamina to eat(thus being vulnerable)_
#4 Can only get 1 dragon shard per blood moon (or potentially none at all)
I would put #5 as no upgrades for your equips but seeing as resources are scarce you probably wouldn't even get the items necessary to upgrade anyway.
Less upgrades means you take more damage, thus the fact that monsters hit less hard isn't actually that impactful.
Basically what I'm getting at is make the game more difficult not by putting impossibly difficult enemies at the start or by increasing their health/damage but by testing your skill, knowledge and experience forcing you to dodge or stealth around and use your resources wisely.
One of my favorite shrines in the game was the eventide island one, because it makes you use your wits and knowledge to prevail instead of just using brute force.
Yeah, tbh I haven't played a full run through master mode because of a lot of this. It's okay just not super interesting. What you're talking about with eventide though I 100% agree, and honestly thats what makes this DLC worth it because the Trials of the Sword are just like Eventide and I love it!

Haven't touched the game since launch and only beat it once. Honestly playing master the same way I did normal. Ignore everything, rush the coliseum to get godly melee weapons, and don't even touch a Divine beast till I have the master sword. It's honestly still easy as fuck

Funnily enough, I've found master mode easier in the long run. After I got good enough. I'd always charge straight off to hyrule castle to stock up on weapons and gems. Since all the enemies are white there, I'd go after a few moblins that were on their own and take them out before heading off to kakariko village to buy the stealth armor.
It's easily the best armor in the early game if you're like me and spend more time just idly wandering the map and going into areas that are well above your level. I only change it out for the barbarian armor in the late game when I'm grinding lynels for parts. By that point in the game, master mode is a breeze though. The added gems from hyrule castle will mean that you're never short on arrows and so long as you have a few good bows, you'll be set for the game.

I beat Master Mode under boss rush conditions.
The hardest part
*Spoilers*
was that the final boss's armored state regens back up to 75% while he's wandering around invulnerable. This makes the fight feel very unfair and necessitates perfect parries and perfect doges back to back with complete consecutive perfection. Any error resets the fight into a loosing battle of atrician.
Next time, he'll have half of his health missing and I'll be combining ancient armor proficiency with 5 mighty banana stew.
Justice Taylor I've played the game so much that I do that without trying. And I really hate sounding like douchebag but I've played too long lol. Did this fight naked and no damage. It was fun, but not hard. The hardest attack he has is when his sword goes up and straight down because it's so fast. But still that's semi-easy to flurry rush.

It would take more hits with the woodcutters axe yes, but that was ur best bet in NORMAL mode, in master mode u get ALOT better weapons, like on the Great Plateau u get a Knights Glaymore from a chest (That’s 38 damage, while the woodcutters axe is 3 damage).
You can always kite enemies to hanging ledges and launch them with the wood cutters axe from the beginning. I used this trick to collect all the chests on the plateau and have the paraglider withing an hour.
