The all new Canik MC9L is a here and ready to compete with the likes of Glock 43x, CR920X, Sig Macro, Smith and Wesson Shield Plus and the Springfield Armory Hellcat Pro! Boasting a 17 round capacity and the ability to use the larger mags for a full size Canik TTI Combat or Canik Rival is a nice bonus.
It ships with a nice case, holster, two 17 round mags and a cleaning tools. The pistol shoots great and is very enjoyable to shoot, especially for its size. This gun shoots like G19 or Glock 19 or a Shadow Systems MR920. Although not a comped 9mm pistol it shoots well. We fired over 300 flawless rounds and it gets our seal of approval.
No doubt about it, this Canik Mete MC9L is one of the best shoot sub compacts available with the best trigger for a compact gun. We enjoyed the optics cut, steel sights and good grip textures. The shootable nature was really nice.

I was hoping Canik would come out with a Mete model like this. I absolutely love these triggers.
The iconic trigger only comes on the Rival and above
I have a sft and a mc9. Triggers are outstanding on both
Man i was about to get the old MC9! This is what ive been wanting the MC9 to be.
Same here!
dam i just got the first mc9 4 days ago😅
I got one two weeks ago lol
yall should get the LS version since you have the shorter barreled one already lol
I was going to get a glock 43x this weekend and just upgraded it to shield arms 15 rd mags because this is one of the cheapest smallest setups. But man this is big news. I love they finally came out with a full grip for pinky I might have to get this instead 👍. Ive always wanted a canik too.
the original MC9 comes with a pinky catch for the 12 rnd mag and the 15 rnd mag is extended also just easier to conceal but the new MC9L is nice , i got the small MC9 for $440 you can't buy Glock or Sig for that and the small MC9 fits me fine as i have small hands anyway
@camhester4251 yes I'd say I have average size man hands lol. The mc9 gap in the back i don't like. That's why I like this new one 👍
They make magazines that fix the gap issue for the original mc9@@dredgengray9175
Get this, hands down 2x better trigger than Glock!!!
Get the canik, you'll be glad you did
Yes! I am sold on it. I will buy the *Canik MC9LS!* That's it. Thank you, bro 🇺🇸💪🏼
That LS would be great! Thanks for watching as always!
I love all my Caniks,im looking forward to adding this one to my collection.
Awesome!
Sweet this one is
perfect size that I like, and a walther like trigger 💪🏻
For sure 💪
The interchangeable mags with other caniks is awesome, definitely a nice feature. And great vid by the way very informative
Thank you!
The PORTED version coming soon now lol
I hope so!
Great video brother 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾..I own the Canik MC9 love it,definitely looking forward to the new MC9L changes the game.
Canik continues to more innovative moving toward the future of firearms.
Thanks brother!
I appreciate the support as always and the new MC9L is really nice and very great shooting pistol.
Both are gonna be a HUGE SELLER, bye bye hellcat pro and XMacro
Idk about that, I'm currently owning a TC9 elite sc and I love it hard. But I did shoot the x macro comped and man it was Just as nice shooting. But it did feel better to hold
@@carloschevere9335 yea I had ap tp9 elite sc and liked it also but these new mc9's have a slimer grip like the XMacro and hellcat pro but these are like 200 less
It’s a nice gun but nahh lmao this statement goes a little too far 🤣
Don't think so
@@bbazzracing if someone was considering the hellcat or the XMacro don't you think for the price the Canik would be a better way to go?
Wish this one come with a carry comp,it would of take the market really good
Couldn’t agree more!
I think they gonna come out with it 2025 thou
@@realyouth5273 Canik makes a threaded barrel and Strike Industries makes a few different comps
That looks like a good gun. I'll definitely consider it in the future when I can afford firearms. I'm excited to try out Canik.
For sure!
I completely agree with you , I feel like the slide needs better cuts on it! Great video brother man
For sure! Something like the TTI cuts or the SFX cuts
@@HuntFishShootChannel big time TTi would damn awesome on it
You were having way too much fun out there, I'm jealous 😂😅😊
Did have a lot of fun with this one!
Great video brother
Thanks! 💪💪💪
Appreciate the breakdown definitely ima look into getting one
Thanks for watching!
@@HuntFishShootChannel always! You’re teaching the culture ( and me ) about guns and I’m all for it
@elbj19 happy to help!
I already have 2 MC9 one is mine the other is the wife’s! Now I need this!
Hell yeah!
I don't have personal experience with any of the canik pistols. However, I made a holster for a customer's tp9 elite SC. If you are interested in purchasing a Canik pistol for ccw, I would urge you to look at the specs pages on the Canik website. This mc9 is significantly thinner than the TP9 sc pistol. The holster for the TP9 sc I made turned out to be right about 1.5" thick at the belt line. The customer said he liked the pistol, but I'm afraid he won't like actually carrying the pistol. Those ambi slide levers add a lot of thickness to the pistol, and the holster needs to be blocked out to accommodate them. This mc9 seems to be a slimmer design. Good on Canik for making a line of pistols better suited for ccw.
It’s a great option and really comfortable to shoot
I have the SC, I carry it appendix, she does have a big ass. It Carrie’s well and is a great shooter.
Great review my friend, never owned or handled any Caniks. In your opinion how is the build quality, such as barrel and internals. Do they look cheap or pretty heavy duty? Was wondering how longevity of this pistol will be. Thanks again.
The build quality with every Canik we own (5 pistols) has been fantastic. They are without a doubt the best budget friendly pistol on the market. I can’t say anything negative other than they are a little chunky. But so is the PDP from Walther. If Canik wasn’t a Turkish based company and had a more American name, it would have a reputation similar to S&W, Sig or Glock.
Our original MC9 has well over 1k rounds and has been perfect. This pistol has over 500 and it’s been perfect. Our other Canik’s have thousands of rounds with out issue.
I find my MC9 to be very accurate... I might buy the LS
Same here!
Looks like everybody is coming after the XMacro.
Yep 👍
With all the great carry options on the market their always seems to be more room for another. And thats fine with me as long as we see improvement and not just copy cat designs. This Canik seems to have the necessary design elements for a great EDC and with that said even so it could be a copy cat its been done pretty well with the exception of the grip needing more texture especially in wet conditions. It really seems to shoot well as is but could be a good candidate for a comp slide , we will see maybe down the road. Good looking EDC. 💪
Agreed! Thanks for watching Wayne!
Can’t wait into it hits my FFL. I am interested in the MC9 LS with the mecanik 01 red dot
The LS would be nice!
Please do a video with hallowpoints ammo. The Original mc9 was having issues with that FTF and most people including myself had to send it back so canik so they can fix the issue. (They ended up changing barrel & recoil spring)
Can you also do a video Canik mc9L Vs SS 920X
That video with the CR920X and this may just happen. I never had issues whatsoever with any hollow points in the original MC9
I was considering a 43x MOS, but I think my mind is changed now.
Is it true that the OG MC9 slide is swappable with the MC9L? I’d be willing to buy the new one if so. Bought the threaded barrel, night sites and the only difference I see between them is the lower
Yes the slide is the same, no different!
I’m considering the Xmacro for my new carry gun. How do they compare?
I would choose the x macro comp over this but not the standard x macro. Hope this helps! My sincere recommendation would be to feel both in a store and go with the one which feels best for you.
@@HuntFishShootChannel thanks!
@AjGalloway95 happy to help! Thanks for supporting the channel!
From someone who has shot both, would you rather have the shadow systems cr920x or this canik. Thanks in advance sir!
Just realized you had mentioned something about it at the end lol
Happy to help!
Most underrated edc is the mossberg mc2c . Boring reliable i love mine .
Love the mc2c also. So much so I got the MC2SC. Have both. Stupid reliable.
Wonder if these will inherit the out of battery issues from the regular mc9?, do a 1000 round review please.
Our mc9 has over 1k through it and no issues. I don’t foresee this having any either
Great review! Will this become your new EDC?
Great pistol but no. The CR920XP is just too damn good
@@HuntFishShootChanneldo you carry your cr920 IWB?
@andrewssk19 I carry a CR920XP AIWB every day! 💪
you can always tape some grip tape to accommodate that off hand palm grip.
Yeah I could, or they could add texture. I would stipple it before adding grip tape.
When well they release the comp version??? Ill wait for that one.
We shall see! I know I hope they do!
Aside from the sights, i can't find something that needs changing
That’s my thoughts!
I really want to see a width comparison with its competitors
It’s wider when you take the slide stop/ slide releases into consideration
Hopefully they don't have issues. The MC9 and TTI Combat both had out of battery and feeding issues. I own the MC9 and Rival and had to get a new spring for both with the Rival going back to the factory. It has run well since. They are good shooters but they just have to make sure this launch doesn't have the issues or they can lose some consumer trust.. would love to compare it to my Hellcat Pro or CZ. Priced well.. can't wait to see it compared to the Hellcat pro (my EDC), XMacro and Shad.System
Yeah the QC with Canik is a little shady
Thanks for sharing
Is the holster reversible by chance?
Yes I believe it is
@@HuntFishShootChannel thank you for the response and great video as always!
@Magswap thank you!
In your experience, what is the best after market Glock trigger specifically for the G48/43x?
I have hear great stuff about the Johnny Glocks triggers but personally I never change Glock triggers. They break in really well and feel great after about 1k rounds
I've always agreed with "don't change triggers on your EDC". But about 2k rounds in, suddenly my 43x trigger is over 7 lbs. I've been cleaning and lubricating the gun properly. I am seriously thinking about trying an Apex trigger. I'm not a trigger snob (I really like the stock G19 gen5 trigger) but the 43x trigger is bad...
@paulfrancois7653 hmm that sounds like a bigger issue. Check into the striker channel, and plunger.
It's crazy that the 15 rd mags for my mete sf are basically obsolete. 😳😅
That is true lol
Seems all UA-camrs got the memo.
Probably so.
There's no way I would ever recommend anyone use these holsters. The "retention" is more of a suggestion. There's a definite chance that you will lose your gun out of it in any activity other than standing still. Do yourself a favor and immediately buy a new holster. You don't want to be that person who's gun pops out while sitting at restaurant or when bending down getting grocery items off the low shelves. Canik makes great stuff but they should never have released this holster, even as a freebie.
My MC9 was near constant malfunctions out of the box and unusable. I reached out to the company and they sent a new recoil spring which fixed everything. The triggers are excellent and the guns are excellent as long as they are operating correctly. Mine is my favorite carry gun.
Yeah the holsters not great but it usable short term, I do get decent retention with this one.
@@HuntFishShootChannel I've adjusted mine from loose to tight and when you turn it on its side with a loaded magazine and give it a little shake the gun falls out every time.
@brandiwynter yeah this one isn’t like that. But that’s good to know. By no means would I recommend it long term
i like my original MC9 but i have small hands
That’s a nice pistol too!
Damn did they just really release a gun thats better than the taron tactical version in the same year!??!?!?!
Because this looks like WAYYYYY LESS RECOIL than the TTI Combat and its so small.
Without a comp, this is amazing. I usually wait to buy new guns on the market but im tryna find the first store in GA with this ill buy RIGHT NOW!!!!!!
Great carry gun!
I Had two mc9s had issues with both….unfortunate
Thanks for sharing your experience
@@HuntFishShootChannel wish it was a better one 😂 it happens
CANIK 🌎
💪
Sig has great trigger brother I don’t what you talking about
No it doesn’t lol. You would only be saying that if you haven’t shot it along side all the others on the market.
@@HuntFishShootChannel so now you think that you know me and know how many guns a have shot?? Is my opinion Sorry if I hurt your ego
At what point are these “micro pistols” (especially with the longer barrels) considered full size???
Not you specifically, but the entire gundustry, why don’t they just call it what it is, a skinny full size pistol?
The normal MC9 and the MC9L use the same length barrel and are 1.5 and 1.3" shorter overall than the full size SFT and 2.3" shorter than the SFX. They're half an inch thinner than the full size, as well. The biggest difference is the grip/height. The MC9 is an inch shorter than the MC9L, which is only 0.3" shorter than the SFT.
Long story short, thinness, grip length and capacity matter for CCW so they made variations. IMO, the name should be SC9 and SC9L for Sub Compact but its all semantics anyways.
Well they are size of sub compact or compact
guns but slim now.
I agree, I have an SC and I do carry it a lot, she is big. Height is the only thing Sub Compact, all other dimensions are in the Compact field. These are going to pop far less, even in the full size.
The concept is interesting but 5.43" tall is going to eliminate it as a contender for an edc for a lot of folks. Winter carry or those who dont care about possible printing it would be fine but at that point why not just carry a larger gun. My opinion but it just seems to fill a role that doesnt appear necessary and the leader in the space, the XMacro non comp version has same capacity, slim line, shorter, and more proven at this point. Granted its also more expensive. Not hating on canik as ive owned 3 of them. Just seems if i want 17 rounds ill go another route and its not small enough for edc unless you change your wardrobe around the gun
It feels very similar in the waistline to a XMacro and smaller than a G19. Thanks for sharing!
Don't buy any new first Gen Canik without a good 6 months to a year of online reviews. Ive had a ton of issues with the mete MC9. The barrel feed ramp was garbage along with the recoil spring. Along with the back plate for firing pin coming loose and not allowing the gun into battery.
If i had smaller hands.
Big hands!
Do bullets actually come out of this new MC9? Cuz the last one was complete trash
Well yours was complete trash but this one and our MC9 was and has been flawless
Why do you need 17 round magazines. Ten round magazines are plenty for concealed carry weapons. Unless you shoot in competition. What’s the point.
Well the concept is some is more, more is better. It depends on the the mindset of the end user, but for most people, you are right 10 would LIKELY be enough. If you can carry more with little to no addition in size, it makes sense to carry more.
Inhave 2 CANiKs. An Elite Combat Executive and a Mete SFx. Lobe em both. Swappable slides. I have noticed the Elite Combat Executive doesnt get much love. Is it because it came out before the hypetrain and legit fanfair? Once we remove this bs govt, up here in Canada, Im for sure gonna get me one of these.
Well the elite combat executive has been over shadowed by better options from Canik for either less or the same money.
@@HuntFishShootChannel fair enough, yet it's imho, the best of the TP9 series.
Wow... maybe you're not a Shadow Systems shill after all
Never have been. I just like them and carry one because I shoot them very well.
The MC9L is one of the most comfortable and easy to shoot non comped guns in its category
I just wish Shadow Systems had a trigger this good or that Canik made a frame and slide more like Shadow Systems... I feel if you blended the CR920XP and this Canik it would be the ultimate carry pistol.
That would be sweet!
👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸💯💯🔫🔫☕️☕️
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙌🙌🙌
They forgot to put a port in it. Lol 😂
I’m sure that’s coming at some point!
The answer to the title of this video is no
Why no though?😂😂😂😂
A jam-o-matic with a longer grip!!
Not our experience
@@HuntFishShootChannel 3 minutes on Google will reveal that Caniks are problematic, plus my own experience is that the MC9 is extremely unreliable.
