Just finished my install today. I got the wireless connection for the Apple Car Play and it all works great. I will say that getting the rear bolts installed was a bear and I had to bend the bracket to line up the holes. Overall I love the unit.

I did get this radio and I did get the precision 800w amp for my 2010 Ultra Classic and OMG!! This is so loud and so clear I don’t want to turn it off!!! Very easy to install. Plug and play is for real with the radio and amp. The switch is close but works just fine.. if you buy on you will not be disappointed..

I bought a Soundstream and installed on my 2011 street glide. I also bought a Hertz amp and front speakers and installed. I have a fairing mount radio antenna and before I installed new system I had good radio reception, and now I can barely pick up any stations. I checked power and connections on antenna and radio and everything looks good. Have you seen electrical interference from amps that cut down reception, or sound stream have issues with antenna s?
This Soundstream uses the latest in digital fm reception, many factors come to play when judging why a Harley has poor fm reception and normally the radio is not the issue. LED lights have light drivers that block fm reception, many class d amplifiers also block fm. On top of that people like to shorten the fm mast or even use hidden antennas in the fairing which all lower your fm reception. Try running your bike in accessory and test your fm with your lighting off to see if your lighting is the problem. When all else fails the iheart radio app gets you your favorite fm stations with no static. I hope these suggestions help you!
I like the radio I have a few questions I have 2011 Tri glide with stock radio with tour pack and I am guessing tweeters over speedo and tack will the hdhu9813 still work with them or will I lose and can I build sound system in stages and will it hurt the radio if it take a little time to before I can get amp and speakers
You can keep the tweeters that mount above, the radio should sound better than stock but a good amp is where you gain volume increase
If I already have the double din fairing install on my 98-13 could I install one of the double dins for the 14 up?
No they do not fit in a double din sized opening
I love features but I feel like the screen bezels could be reduced on a future model. Perhaps by removing the soft keys. I’m so tempted to order this unit but I’m afraid to do so and then an updated model being exactly what I’m looking for
There are minimum screen size requirements for CarPlay and android auto, it will not get smaller because of this and the fact that soft keys are needed for people without thumb controls
All my controls will work on the handle bars I have a Street Glide I was told I would have to get a maestro wiring kit but it looks like everything is plug and play also is the android auto wireless or wired

No these will not connect to any headsets

Any good suggestions? For a 1996 Harley Davidson Electric glide classic. Having a heard time narrowing down a good replacement radio.

I added this radio to my 12 Ultra and a Rockford 800x4 amp. The sound is so much cleaner than the factory radio plus there is no humming. Cruising down the highway at 75 mph with the volume at 28. I didn’t have to turn it up much with the stock radio and amp. What’s the best way to plug the amp into the radio?
We suggest high level input and then properly setting your amp gains, max output of amp should be at full radio volume which is 50
Does this radio have separate front and rear channel high pass filters, or is it set across all channels with 1 filter, also is there wireless car play capability or something i could get to make it wireless, thanks👍👍
It does have a global high pass for front and rear channels, I usually set independent high pass on the amplifier, we do offer a wireless adapter from Zz-2 that works great but it comes wired CarPlay via usb if you do not add the adapter
Hi there i've never installed an aftermarket radio so i bought a Soundstream VR7HB which is going to a Chevy Captiva Sport LT. Do i simply connect the Aftermarket adapter wiring to the existing factory adaptor wiring to make the radio work?

@@volunteeraudio What i did not realize is this radio comes with a small, square module which enables the radio to power up. The directions do talk about this module but it doesn't say you must plug in this module for the radio to work. I finally got the radio working and its my 1st time owning a Soundstream. Im very impressed.

Getting ready to order this from you next week and before I do I want to make sure that since I have a sinister sounds system and none of my speakers are “plug and play” does this amp have a stand alone remote wire off the head unit to run to the amp or how does that work with this head unit? My current aquatic AV radio has a single blue bare remote wire that runs from the radio to the amp and if I’m spending this much money on a radio I wanna make sure I can wire up my amp to it still. @@volunteeraudio I noticed you said the speaker level output are so much better then the rca output for amplified speakers. What’s the difference in the two? I always thought the rca output gave a better and cleaner signal then the speaker wire outputs?

The indicators are the same brightness on all radios and do not have any adjustment, I do not feel they are too dim but do think glare from the sun can cause times when they are hard to see, we are working on a future anti glare sticker to go over the indicators
Does the hand controls work to change the song when your phone is Bluetoothed like the Rockford radio

Will this fit if you have the chrome inner fairing trim kit installed? Or do you have to remove the trim thats around the radio on a 2010 electra glide ultra classic?
You would have to remove the added chrome trim

So when the other info says does not work with rear speakers volume will the rear passenger speakers hook up with this and or how would they be controlled or would it be just one set volume?
What it means is that front handle bar mounted thumb controls will still control the radio but rear tourpack mounted volume controls will not work, rear speakers will work but the radio will be controlled from the front controls

Both can, on the hertz we bolt on a plate that we Velcro the hertz amp to, the precision power amp bolts to the plate

Got mine yesterday and installed it. Works great except for the neutral bar. Doesnt show neutral , and the oil and signals are pretty dim. Ill be giving yall a call to troubleshoot. Im guessing its a connection issue on the radio harness since it works perfectly plugged into the stock harness

Do you guys sell a wiring harness to convert it, or will I need to cut wires on this one and hardwire it like the current one? Also, how difficult is it to connect the steering controls on a police bike?
Currently we do not have a police bike radio harness for your bike, it would need to be hard wired, it is very difficult to make analog thumb controls work without the stock harnessing

I have a 13 FLHTP that I plan to add a radio to. Metra sells the factory plug, 71-9600 is the part number. You’ll have to wire it in yet but it’s super easy once you do find the schematic. It’s two wires to the battery, one to a keyed power source, one to ground and your speakers.
The hand controls are much more involved though.

Just got mine in the mail yesterday and got it hooked up already just waiting on my dd1 sound track usb to come in the mail today to tune the front at 1khz -5bd and rear at 1khz -10db but do you have any preference settings on the 13 band EQ for after I tune it so I can actually get some basss through the speakers?! I’m not familiar with a 13 band EQ at all so any help would be greatly appreciated
Start flat on eq, set amp gains correctly, set high pass filters correctly on amp, make sure polarity tests correct. Then use the eq to turn down what you have too much of or you may be happy at flat if you have quality components. Do not boost bass trying to get more bass. You will only add distortion and possibly blow your speakers

If your cvo has mtx branded amplifiers and speakers they will work, if they are made by Harman Kardon they will not work. We ship worldwide

I purchased a Soundstream reserve radio and the back light went out I was told there was an issue with them on the first run of them that has been corrected. Since Bike Week is coming up and I plan on going I can't take the radio out there is just never a good time to set the bike down since I ride everyday in Florida. I don't want to wait for the swap out with the warranty as the deadline is approaching and have a open hole in the farming waiting on the radio to be sent back and waiting for the other to be sent back. I know it has to be done though. I asked if I could upgrade the radio since there are other better ones available now and I would be happy to pay the difference but I was told I wouldn't get the same money that I paid for this radio I purchased before it went on sale now. I see why it went on sale but would like to upgrade. Then to make matters worse I got a new cell phone and can't even pair it up to my new phone now because the screen is out. I'm in a bad place with this radio to say the least. I left a message with the manufacturer to see what they can do to help but still waiting on a call back. This really sucks to have this dilemma.

Who did you purchase from? Warranty swap is a one day turn around here once we receive back the defective product. Warranty must be done through the original dealer
@volunteeraudio I bought it from your company. It sounds nice one day turn around but in actually it's 1/2 a day to get it out packed and take it to the shipping place then 3-5 days to get it to you one more day for your processing then 1 or 2 days on the return then 1/2 a day to install it. Now it's about 5 to 7 days for me. Even if I bought another one and your company sent it out then it would be a day but I'm back to the issue of not getting the full credit towards the upgrade. Half temped to dump it in the trash.

Jay, would you do this headunit over an amp? I have the factory radio with a Bluetooth dongle hooked up to the aux port. Stock speakers. As far as usability.. I’m ok with it. I just want better/louder sound.
Obviously, I need speakers… that’s a given.
Radio is a must, if you want significant volume increase you would need an amp as well, this radio is almost twice the power of the stock radio and has a much cleaner sound output

@@volunteeraudio both connections on my bike coming out of the radio are the same size.. the harness provided one is an inch longer. Both plugs are the size of the radio plug.. I'll check out the link. I appreciate the help

Only problem I have with this is you can’t see turn signals during the day.
Only so bright an led indicator can be made, it looks great accept when the sun is directly on it. The stock indicators were not super bright either. But the screen looks great in all lighting
