  • In this video we show you how we made our Brad's kokanee cut plug lures last summer. These lures work very well for catching kokanee.

    These are awesome for chinook aswell. Obviously the bigger ones but some of my biggest chinooks have been just before nightfall , cast this with a 3way swivel and some heavy lead into pools. Glow in the dark color ways a hook up every 2-3 casts. I prefer one of these to a spinner if the fish are surfacing.

    Fill them with oil packed tuna. Add additional bait oils like garlic bloody tuna. We also use the leftovers in bottom of can of sardines after we have a snack.

    When you say the hooks are baited with "corn" do you actually mean canned corn?

      @troycousineau5633 yes. We use scented canned corn that we make. Here's one of my videos showing how we make it.

    Wow ok thanks. Someone selling some in group I didn't no what they was but there are good price. I have kids fishing group. Always looking for deals or good or weird baits to fish with the kids. Then if kids like the baits they use they keep them or go to the box pick out a bait or 2 we give them hard baits soft baits spinner bait what ever we have to give them. So never seen this and I was on mich 15 years ago. So this prob wasn't made yet. But would love to get many colors. The ones on sale think 1 color maybe 2. But bunch orange ones. But yea would love to talk to brads ask more questions about his baits. Thanks for sharing. God bless

    I've seen these cut plugs rigged sometimes with the leader through all 3 grommets vs in certain cases, only through the middle rib and the end grommet. Is there a benefit to doing it one way vs the other? Does one method produce more action and success than the other?

      Great question. I haven't tried it through all 3 yet, but I would assume in doing so the action of the lure would be slowed. This could be a good idea if fishing for rainbow trout as I find they tend to like a slower presentation.

    Like your video But you didn't say what size beads you use

    • @FougereFamilyAdventures
      @FougereFamilyAdventures  4 роки тому +1

      I usually use a size 5mm or 6mm bead.

    Hey how to get the cut plug deeper in the water?

    • @FougereFamilyAdventures
      @FougereFamilyAdventures  3 роки тому

      You can do this a few ways:
      1. Use a heavier dodger like a Luhr Jensen dodger and long line your set up.
      2. Use a downrigger, then a dodger and the cut plug

    What size hooks are you using?

    • @FougereFamilyAdventures
      @FougereFamilyAdventures  Рік тому

      I normally use size 1 hooks, but have been using size 4 this year to compare if I prefer the larger hooks.

      I've tried the smaller hooks, but I still prefer a larger size 1 hook. It seems to work for me.

      Franks Supermarket in Quesnel carries them. You might also check with Mark at Lone Butte Sporting Goods. I'm not sure if anywhere else stocks them at this time.
