Stihl ? Husqvarna ? RedMax ? Best 2 of 3 Backpack Blowers

- Three backpack blowers, each one seeking happiness. I can't decide which two of three blowers will get repaired: Stihl BR420C Magnum, Husqvarna 150BT, or the RedMax EB4401
00:00 I'm not Frank
00:51 Quick overview
02:54 Basic tests on Stihl BR420C Magnum
07:08 Basic tests on Husqvarna 150BT
11:06 Basic tests on RedMax EB4401
14:53 Which two to fix?
The tools I like and use most often:
Magnetic spark plug socket set: amzn.to/3CzmpvO
Tachometer: amzn.to/3sHibiH
Vessel Megadora JIS screwdriver set: amzn.to/363RFqO
Channellock Bent Needle-nose pliers: amzn.to/3I5DbnA
Long 1/4 Quick-connect Torx Driver Bits: amzn.to/3HUNgnm
Spark Tester: amzn.to/3CxW2qi
OTC Leak-down Test Kit: amzn.to/3CyUhJn
Compression Tester: amzn.to/3IWd6sp
Wear your safety glasses, or you'll shoot your eye out. Try on some gloves. Take off that spark plug boot. Clean your room. Open the windows, those fumes are nasty. Just 'cause I do it, don't think it's the end all, be all solution. There's plenty more ideas out there, I can't take responsibility if you slice off a few fingers after watching my videos. And don't just pour that toxic stuff down the sewer or in the ditch, dispose of waste responsibly. Just be safe, OK?

I love Husqvarna blowers, it's the only thing I personally own... but the RedMax is closer to ready and 180psi? Dayummmm. 🙂
Crazy! Right?
I would fix them all, and they'll have a backup to use when they have an issue later on. The redmax would be the one I'd use, as light weight is a bonus after using it all day. Good video, as usual!
I'll let you in on a secret: they guy "donated" one of the machines to me. They all will eventually get running. Thanks for watching. Cheers!
I just love your content Stella.. as per my previous comment. Excellent camera angles and very clear - thank you! I know how long these videos take to produce, well done!
Thank you so much! I spend the most time editing, by I enjoy that part of the task. I appreciate you watching!
Nice video Ms Stella, my younger brother had a RedMax string trimmer that he bought new 30 years ago, its still going strong
so I would have to say go with the RedMax Blower, it also appeared to be the best running one of the 3. 🙂👍
"Blow Happy" 😂😂
That RedMax was impressive for sure. I'm thinking it will blow happy :)
🤣😳🤣
Frank will say “I did it my way” and choose the RedMax. All 3 are viable. $1,000 worth of equipment sitting there if someone had to buy 3 new ones and the new ones lack the quality to last long enough to Fly Me to The Moon. Blow Happy x 3!!
LoL Haney!! 🤣
@@haneyoakie14 😹 LOL Good answer Mr Tom!
The Red Max would be my choice since it needs the least amount of work and parts. Then the Husky and lastly the Stihl. But as you said, customers choice.
I was really surprised with that RedMax. Thanks for watching!
I would put money in all 3 of those blowers. The most expensive part is probably the torn blower tube.🤔 Nice job Stella! 👍🎥🇺🇸
I actually found some re-pops on AMZN for less than $25, but they all had terrible reviews. I'm keeping an eye out on ebay.
That was a big whoaaa moment I thought for sure the red max had ingested so much dirt the piston and walls would be juiuuuuunk, nicely done miss Stella 😀 it is as always great to watch your hands work !
Thanks Mr Joe! I appreciate your kind words!
I would go with the red max. That’s crazy compression.
I thought my gauge was off, but a second test with another one was close to the same. Crazy! Thanks for watching!
I would say, "Hi, Ol' Blue Eyes", except I'm not 100% sure what color they are behind the tinted safety glasses! 😁
They are blue, but I'm sure my stellar rendition proves I'm no Frank Sinatra. LOL!
@@TheLawnmowerLady maybe you are Nancy Sinatra. But you are certainly not Something Stupid.
That's old school for checking spark nice to see this
Old skool, cuz I'm old. LOL. I appreciate you watching. Cheers!
I would run the redmax. I will admit I am partial to redmax I have 5 of them. What I don't like about stihls you have to buy special blower racks most of the time for there blowers. Stihl does make a good product I have an old BR400 that I let my dad use only thing I have done to it I had to replace the carb a couple of years ago and put a chinese carb on it. I like the Redmax's with the Left hand throttle like the one in the video. They do seam to be a little stiff to move compared to a trigger throttle. Great video Stella!!
Seems like the best, even if it's the oldest. They all will probably be great machines with near about the same price to fix up. Thanks for watching.
i would repair all three they all have their own merits and Stella i have heard you say some of the older stuff can be best.
I honestly believe the newer things on the market will not last as long as the older models. I appreciate you watching. Cheers!
Do you know a site i can buy all the carb gaskets for the honda gcv engines
Most any major parts house repairclinic, ereplacement, jackssmallegnines, etc. should have what your need, I'd call ahead to confirm availability. No all have real-time stock levels on their websites. Thanks for watching!
Oh and by the way, you sing divinely!! 😲
LOL!
And the lesson here is….never judge a book by its cover. Definitely I’d chose the Red Max. It was a pleasant surprise!
Truer words were never spoken. Thanks for watching Ms Inisfad. Cheers!
You know your blowers my friend. I sure don't see many. Not enough to compare. Husqvarna is my bet but I don.t know the Redmax
Only seen one other RedMax Mr Bruce. But it sure seemed to be the best candidate, despite being the oldest. Cheers!
@@TheLawnmowerLady I have never seen a RedMax, but I understand that people that have them love them and rate them as superior. My world of blowers is all fried Craftsman and Poulan units.
@@haneyoakie14 thank you Mr Tom. I will always think of Chicken with that fried Poulan. 😹
@@TheLawnmowerLady I had no idea how old it was I tests well though
@@BrucesShop almost as old as me 😂😹🤣
Well played on the Frank 😄. Loved that movie.
I appreciate you watching. Cheers!
I’m not sure how to search your videos. I’m looking for the husqvarna w520 walk behind commercial lawnmower- and how to get a book. A technical service manual not just the dumb generic fold out that came with it.
I've not worked on one before, but I've had luck googling, by adding "pdf" to the end of my search query finding service manuals.. Hope this helps
Hey Stella I have a question about my echo es 210 leaf blower vac hard to start but when it goes Its runs good any thoughts
If it had valves, I'd say adjust them. But my best advice is go back to the basics: spark, fuel, and air. Start with the easy/cheap stuff. Spark plug, etc. Thanks for watching.
@@TheLawnmowerLady I thought I would take a chance today I took the carb off took it all apart cleaned it seems to be working better now
Red Max is good equipment, the Husqvarna and Stihl are also. It seems to me the most expensive will be the broken tube. Great Job Stella, T-Bone and Mrs T love ya hun.
I just don't see that many RedMax, but I'm impressed so far. Seems there are several Stihl re-pop tubes on AMZN for $25 or so. But not so great reviews. I'll have to keep an eye out on ebay, in the mean time, duct tape might just be the answer. Cheers Mr T-bone. All the best to Mrs T. Cheers!
where do you get so many shirts with different names?
Velcro is my friend :) thanks for watching. Cheers!
Go Husqvarna - Swedish powaah! And go Stella! :) Cheers!
Good choice!
Definitely the Red Max but I think all 3 should be fixed.
I think they all have some life left in them. Thanks for watching!
I had my money on the Husqvarna but I’d go with the Red Max now.
Good choice Mr Al. Cheers!
Love Francis Albert. Thanks Frank, er, Stella.
Luck be a Lady, I can get these fixed sooner than later. 😹
@@TheLawnmowerLady A lady doesn't leave her escort, it isn't fair, it's not nice, a lady doesn't wander all over the room and blow on some other guys dice.
most say to give full throttle for compression test but half time i forget lol
Me too! I just think it gets there on fewer pulls. Thanks for watching!
@@TheLawnmowerLady i agree
Hi Hun I'd go red max and husky
Two good choices!
@@TheLawnmowerLady the red max has best compression and lightweight th the other two so probably last longer xx
My choice will definitely be the Stihl Br420c magnum. That’s my real favorite right there!🥰 I have one and it’s 17 years old and still runs great now. They are probably the best Stihl blowers I have ever seen. Old classic box blower that’s literally Bulletproof!
Good choice! I appreciate you watching. Cheers!
180 that’s a first and very impressive, after some TLC on the stihl she will run like a dream thanks for sharing lady 🏴
Fingers crossed!
redmax, definitely
Good choice!
I’d keep all three. What luck
Thanks for watching!
That's a hard choice to make on those three machines🙄🙄
That's why I left it up to the owner. Thanks for watching!
@@TheLawnmowerLady that is the best way to so let the owner know about the money 💲💰 needed to get it done 👍✅
I go with redmax and husqvarna. They are in better shape
The RedMax is the dark horse for sure. Thanks for watching.
I am a red max fan, just fix them all
Psssss. Don't tell anyone, but I am. Tee-hee.
Red max for the win!
Good choice!
Red and husky only just.
Though to add I believe, it is for him not his son.
He has an emotional attachment to the Stihl, no kidding. Thanks for watching Mr Rick!
@@TheLawnmowerLady that’s fair enough....😉
Red Max and STIHL, I feel husquavarna’s quality has gone down over the years.
Good choices!
All three blowers are quality machines. . .Too bad they have been abused so badly.
You are so right Mr John! Thanks for watching.
Redmax all the way.
Good choice!
